I was traveling at south bound on TOLL 130 going 80MPH (which is the speed limit on that road) when my Pacifica immediately slowed down and my accelerator gave out. In addition to my dash flashing that the cruise control was no longer available, but the van also said "Service Charging System" and "Shift to P to Start", the engine light and batter light both came on. I am sure that I almost died as I was in the middle lane and cars were whipping around me since I had slowed down so much, there was an 18 wheeler behind me and one of my righthand side, which is the shoulder I was trying to get to. I was finally able to coast to the shoulder and came to a stop, put the car in park and turned it off. I immediately started researching what the problem could be and...
I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. I purchased it brand new in 2018. This van has had sooo many problems, it has been in and out of the shop, countless recalls. Last year it was in the shop for almost the entire year, I think I had possession of the van for less than 3 months of the year. I just brought my van in for a recall related to the hybrid battery and it was returned to me in December, within 2 weeks there were check engine lights on and when I googled the code that was showing I found a ton of blogs about how people had the same recall done and within a short period of time this code came up and it meant the hybrid battery needs to be replaced. I reached out to the dealer and brought it in to get looked at. After...
Vehicle states "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" with a red turtle logo. I have restarted the vehicle, and the warning persists. I am bringing in the car to the dealer next.
On [XXX], my vehicle produced a large red wrench and a turtle warning on a busy highway and I was forced to pull to the side with my [XXX] son in the car, as the vehicle lost motive power. It was towed to the dealer and after several days, they told me the issue was due to normal wear and tear in the transmission. I had to escalate to a service manager to even get a diagnosis after 5 days in the shop. I believe my transmission issue is due to a failure of the fix implemented in the 03A/NHTSA 23V-010 recall. It has been documented that the software update did not fix the issue. My vehicle experienced the exact series of failures described in the recall. Chrysler is refusing to fix my vehicle, even though they had extended the warranty on my Pacifica to unlimited miles/unlimited years because of...
I have a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid which has had multiple recalls for the battery causing fires with no resolution. The NHTSA website said to submit a complaint "If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner". The most recent recall was in July without resolution but the battery has been recalled multiple times over the last few years without actual fix being done.
Chrysler has still not offered a remedy for this recall .the vehicle was purchased used and selling dealer did not provide recall info until the sale had been completed. I love the vehicle except the possible fire hazard in the recall makes me nervous to drive it . Chrysler told me earlier recalls were for this hazard but now says remedy is incomplete!!
My vehicle was performing great - no Issues what so ever until FCA performed Recall 03A. After I had FCA US LLC Recall 03A for Loss of Motive Power installed; my vehicle had several issues the same day I picked it up from the Dealer. They stated it was ready for pickup even with all my issues and they new I had ½ of them and still turned it over to me. . 50 % of the issues are still waiting to be repaired. The Major issue remaining is the High Voltage Battery. After 1 year of them trying to get the vehicle back to the condition I turned it in before for the Recall - Chrysler refuses to replace the HV battery under the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. They will not let anyone order the part even the dealer can not. To order the bad part Chrysler STAR...

Additionally, the gear shift indicator light turned off, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the failure persisted, and the gear shifter became inoperable. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle after an hour, several unknown warning lights were illuminated, but the gear shifter was operable. The contact was able to drive to residence and parked the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer had previously repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System) on several occasions; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,750.
I was driving with my family on the interstate and was exiting when the car shuddered and I lost propulsion. Interior electrical power was still functional. This occurred as the car was switching to gas mode as I had been been driving about 30-35 miles on electric at that point. The gas motor never came on. I was able to roll into a gas station since we were on a bit of a downhill. Shut off car and waited a beat then started car again, battery showed 1% and was able to pull 2 more feet into gas station and off to side before it completely died again (battery at 0%). I feel extremely fortunate that this didn't happen a moment earlier when I was on the expressway and that were able to get off of a busy road. I had the vehicle towed to nearest Chrysler dealer and had...
Tried to start car. When start button was pressed the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Multiple error messages. FCW unavailable, power steering unavailable, fuel door open, park brake unavailable, park sense unavailable, Service hybrid electric system, power steering unavailable. The gear indication, both on dash and by shifter was flashing. The car would not turn off. I had to open hood and disconnect 12v battery for the car to power off. Waited 10 seconds and connected 12v and it power on, but the check engine light is still active
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid caught fire in our garage. Please refer to the attached PDF which details the incident. I have pictures and videos of the incident as well as a report from the fire department is being prepared. We have placed home and auto claims with our insurance provider, and we are also working with a disaster recovery company who is compiling a report on the damages and losses. - What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? My educated guess from what I witnessed and discussions with the firefighters is it was the car’s electric battery. - How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Refer to PDF; further would this have happened at night and as discussed with the fire department, the toxic smoke, heat, and fire/explosion would very likely...
Pull into garage with <1% hybrid battery. Pressed the power button and the Pacifica threw an error about servicing the transmission and it would not disconnect the power to shut off the vehicle. Opened the hood and disconnected the 12v battery to complete remove electric from the system. The van completed a shutdown. Reconnected the 12v battery and closed the hood. Car returned to working conditions.
In March my van stalled as I was turning through a busy intersection with my child in the front seat. We narrowly avoided being t-boned. For a second the dash lit up with lights and then it said to shift to park to start vehicle but I couldn't shift. After finally getting it in neutral some good samaritans helped me push it out of the intersection and while I sat off to the side, after about 15 minutes of getting out and checking under the hood, the car started. We used our own code reader and it threw the PoA79 code. We brought it to Lewisville with an appointment, told them about the stall and they did the Z11 recall work for the fire risk with the battery but say there are no issues with the battery and no codes, but they have us ready for the recall work on...
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that the dealer had completed the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System) on the vehicle; however, after the repair, the message "Service Hybrid Battery," was displayed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - The dealer / manufacturer is unable to determine the root cause. The car shut down while I was driving on the highway. It does not start, meaning no engine turnover to operate / drive the vehicle. The only known issue was the recall for the electrical component failure. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - Yes, both myself and others on the highway were at great risk. As my car shut down, I lost control of the vehicle - no power steering or ability to use the accelerator. My vehicle slowed to 40mph in the right lane, while other vehicles including trucks were still traveling at high speeds and quickly approached my vehicle. They did not see the hazard lights until they were only 20 feet away. This...

My Pacifica Hybrid van has been at a Chrysler dealership (Castle Rock in Colorado) for over six weeks now to have the Z11 recall addressed. It is clear that neither Chrysler nor their dealers know how to properly fix this (potentially lethal) issue with their vehicle batteries. Chrysler have failed to provide a loaner vehicle, even though it is stated in their recall letter that they would, and their "Customer Care" hotline have been unable to assist in any way. No one will call me back or otherwise inform me of next steps.

With Chrysler, recalls are never ending. Last year there was battery recall (Z11) that took 10 months to fix. Just after I got that fixed in Dec-2022, in Feb-2023, we have a new recall, where the vehicle is pretty much rendered useless as it can stop anytime on freeway. My friend who has the car had the vehicle suddenly lose traction and stop in freeway (this happened last week). Fortunately nothing happened as he was able to exit safely. Given it hit so close to home, I am scared to drive my Chrysler Pacifica car anymore. When i contact Chrysler for possible remedies like offering a rental assistance e.t.c they are adamant and refuse to help in anyway. I don't understand this ; I have brought a car in good faith and for no fault of mine , i need to spend on "rental car" now? In prior recalls, Chrysler...
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the messages "Service Hybrid System" and "Service Shifter" were displayed. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the software update was completed under Chrysler Campaign Number: A14; however, the failure persisted. The check engine and the MIL warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where Chrysler Campaign Number: Z11 was performed. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it started after 45 hours. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The dealer received assistance from the manufacturer’s engineers; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The failure persisted with a beeping sound activated. The dealer diagnosed that the vehicle speed signals, the Coolant Bypass Valve 'B' Control Circuit, the...
I was driving with my family about 30mph and for no reason, the vehicle lost power and I coasted and braked to a stop on the side of the road. Nothing I did would bring any response from the vehicle while it was coasting. A short time later while stopped, I was able to turn the vehicle off and then was able to turn it back on. This happened about a year ago and I thought it was strange. It has not re-occurred. I did not seek out any resolution until I found out about the 03A recall (NHTSA 23V-010). That recall describes what happened to me. My vehicle is currently undergoing multiple attempts to perform the Z11 recall (NHTSA 22V-077) so I do not currently have access to my vehicle.
I have been contacted multiple times by dealerships and Chrysler that my vehicle needs the Z11 (NHTSA 22V-077) recall performed and that it is urgent for me and my family's safety. I have been trying to get the Z11 recall performed since February 2023. I have contacted 3 local dealerships to do the job but scheduling was difficult and there is no loaner cars available. The first dealer (Autonation CDJR of Katy Texas) who has done all my previous recalls just wanted me to bring the car in to sit for 3 days while not performing the recall. The second was inexperienced and unqualified. After a week delay, I took my car into the third dealer (Big Star Dodge in Webster Texas) on 3/13/2023, but after two days they told me they were having trouble with equipment and gave me the vehicle back on 3/15/2023. They rescheduled for 3/27/2023 and...

Pacifica Hybrid Limited found completely dead in our driveway and unresponsive to the remote. I manually unlocked the driver door, no usual dash indications, opened the hood and found the 12v battery system at 2.9v. It would not start & no responses or indications. There had been no warnings or indications of any problems prior to this. The car prevented my 6 A charger from charging the battery while it was connected to the car. I jump started the car with a known good battery, removed the jump, and allowed the engine to charge the car battery some. I decided to take no chances and replace the 12v battery. I turned the car to the OFF state via the dash push button. The car was never moved out of P park. I left it to go purchase a new 12v battery. I returned 2 hours later with a new battery...
Hi, I have owned this Chrysler Pacifica since 2018 and there have been multiple problems regarding the electrical system every single year and in 2022 it is twice. Every time it goes in for an electrical problem it takes greater than one month to fix the car. The current issue is the recall. My dealer says every other car with recall has been fixed in 2-3 days. Mine is already at 2 weeks. I have filed a Customer complaint with Chrysler and the current one is: 84472903. The one from earlier in 2022 is 82927664. Please contact Chrysler for the complete list of remaining customer complaints on this Chrysler of one each in 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018
I was driving on a local road and car suddenly stopped running; accelarator unresponsive; power steering not working either. I was able to pull to side. Car said shift P to start , gear change didn't do anything and blinking, check engine light came up. And “check charging system” light came on. It was very dangerous. After 3-4 minutes I was able to get my car turn off and on and then it drove normal. So I decided to take it in nearby open parking area. It would restart but not do anything even if switched into drive or reverse. Check charging system light on and no power steering again. I had to get it to get it towed the next day from that lot. First tow truck unable to tow due to steering being locked. 2nd tow truck needed help to move car due to steering. Been at dealer...
While driving an a well paved road, I received a check hybrid system alert on my dashboard. Then several lights bean to flash including the blind spot alerts on the side view mirrors and several other alert system. Adaptive cruise control and lane change failure alerts also went off. I was only two miles from home and managed to get back. The engine did not cut out. The next morning, it started up but just a few miles into testing it out, the same alerts and light appeared, but this time the engine died along with the power steering. I coasted to roadside, turned off the car, and waited for 5 to 10 minutes. I started it up and drove it home. The engine remained on but the lights and warning continued to flash. The emergency lights also cut out periodically. I managed to drive the car to a Chrysler...
2108 Hybrid Pacifica stalled a couple of times on freeway on our recent trip . Here are the details : About 2 hours after driving on freeway. - then, dashboard showed few errors and eventually showing "service charging system" - then displaying "shift to P to start" and "D" symbol is flashing. - after this, pacifica van lost power ( pushing accelerating do nothing ) but steering, brake seems OK and I had to steer the car to freeway shoulder and then turn off the car and start again after a few minutes and can start the car again but "engine check light" is on for at least 24 hours after. - After starting again, then a half a hour later, it happened again with same symptoms as above. The car has about 40,000 miles and running in gas mode only. These are very dangerous situation and luckily this time,...
While traveling at 75+ mph on a multi-lane highway the vehicle shut off displaying warnings "Shift to P to Start" "Service Charging System" "Sliding Door Open" "Forward Collision Warning Unavailable" and large red turtle icons. With the van shut off the only option available was to coast to side of the road/shoulder while trying to avoid other high speed vehicles and while the other vehicles attempted to dodge me. The vehicle has been at the dealer 5 times. Various codes are always available but they are unable to recreate the problem. The first visit the 12v battery was replaced. The most recent visit (the van is still at the dealer) the dealership and the manufacturer tore apart the van and checked parts for 5 weeks and could not identify anything wrong. I have pictures and lists of conditions, codes and problems. There is no warning when this happens, the vehicle...

On 06/10/2022, the Uconnect system began to randomly reboot including within 30 to 60 seconds of starting the vehicle. If in reverse during a reboot of the system , the rear cross traffic sensors no longer provide alerts and the rear camera is disabled while the system reboots. The system then reboots every 2 to 4 minutes after. Additionally, the GPS no longer accepts coordinates for navigation, clock or date.

While driving at 60mph, vehicle shut off and would not allow me to accelerate. Error message displayed on speedometer, vehicle must be in park to shift gears. The PRNDL blue LED was flashing as well. Several indicator lights on my dashboard illuminated too. Vehicle has approximately 9300 miles on it. This is a pacifica e-hybrid. After pulling off the road I was able to restart and the van worked in “limp home” mode with the red turtle displayed. I then limped the van to a gas station, shut off the van, topped off the fuel tank which had been at 1/4 full, and after a few minutes restarted. After restart, only the yellow check engine light was displayed and the van operated normal. I have read a safety recall exists but Chrysler is saying it is not an active recall for my specific VIN even though I am experiencing the...
The car 12v battery drains completely, rendering the vehicle immobile and completely non functional. There has been an electrical burning smell once the car is jump started and driving. I fear there is some kind of short or electrical discharge somewhere that could render the vehicle inoperable or start a fire at my home or while the car is being used. This vehicle has been at the dealer for 7 weeks and they have not found the problem. I have been told that the car has been connected to a computer system that is being "looked into" remotely by Chrysler. They have replaced the battery and the charging management system at my expense. The problems started when the car had 38000 miles and began with the "radio" which controls many other functions of the car constantly rebooting and having corrupted firmware which I was told cannot be fixed, only replaced....
This happened the Day after we purchased the 2018 hybrid Pacifica limited. While Driving the van started to stall out (wouldn’t go when pushing gas) and said shift to P(park) to start. Pulled over turned off the van and restarted it, that didn’t fix the problem. Restarted again and it went back to normal but the check engine light is on. Also the battery is dying extremely fast. Within 5 miles it’ll go from 40% to 0%.
MANUFACTURER (CHRYSLER) MAILED ME A LEGAL NOTICE THAT MY VEHICLE COULD CATCH FIRE AND / OR EXPLODE AT ANYTIME WHETHER PARKED, IDLING OR DRIVING BECAUSE OF A DEFECT IN THE HYBRID BATTERY COMPONENTS (INVERTER). THEY TOLD ME NOT TO PARK NEXT TO ANYTHING OR ANYONE, NOT TO ALLOW MOISTURE OF ANY KIND INTO THE VEHICLE AND TO NOT PARK OR STORE IT IN ANY ENCLOSED STRUCTURE LIKE A GARAGE. THEY SAID TO WAIT FOR A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AS THERE WAS NOT YET RESOLUTION. I RESPONDED TO THEM ASKING FOR A LOANER CAR OR RENTAL AND WAS TOLD NO. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND STILL NO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP CAN OFFER A FIX, HOWEVER THEY DID COME OUT WITH A 2020 MODEL THAT WAS BUILT WITHOUT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY RECALL THAT OUR GOVERNMENT SEEMS TO BE IGNORING. I AM LEFT WITH A LEMON I...
WHEN I SHIFTED INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT WHERE I'D HAD THE CAR TURNED OFF, THE MAIN INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WENT COMPLETELY BLUE AFTER BRIEFLY SHOWING THE USUAL BACKUP CAMERA AND 360 VIEW. IT WAS ABOUT 23 DEGREES OUTSIDE.
A SAFETY RECALL WAS ISSUED IN THE SPRING OF 2020. I'VE TRIED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET A DEALER TO INSPECT AND/OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO. I HAVE BEEN TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES THAT PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER. NO ONE WILL EVEN INSPECT THE VEHICLE. IN THE MEANTIME, I'VE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO PARK MY VEHICLE OUTSIDE SO THAT IT DOESN'T BURN MY HOUSE DOWN. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE A YEAR TO INSPECT AND REPAIR A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE
MY CAR PURCHASED IN 2018 FROM REED JEEP CHRYLSER IN OVERLAND PARK KANSAS. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020, THE VEHICLE WAS IN HYBRID/ELECTRIC MODE AND STOPPED RUNNING AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. WE WERE DRIVING SLOWLY AND ABLE TO COAST TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WERE ABLE TO SAFELY LEAVE IT ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE RELATED TO THE STARTER OR BATTERY. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM WAS REVIEWED BY THE ENGINEERING TEAM WITH CHRYSLER AND IT WAS FOUND TO BE A COMPUTER ELECTRICAL HYBRID COMPONENT. ORIGINALLY, CHRYSLER ADVISED THEY HAD NO REPLACEMENT PART ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. AFTER TWO WEEKS, THEY ADVISED THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO GET A COMPONENT FROM THE COMPONENT MANUFACTURER BUT THAT IT WOULD TAKE TIME. THE CAR REMAINED IN THE SERVICE CENTER FOR AT LEAST...
