Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V077000 (Hybrid Propulsion System) however, after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer a failure was experienced. The contact stated that while his wife was parking the vehicle a warning light was illuminated with the "Check Hybrid System" message displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle was turned off and later restarted without issues. The contact stated that after his wife called him, he drove the vehicle home; however, while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The vehicle was able to restart 10 minutes later with no issues. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was taken back however, the failure could not be replicated. The contact stated that he recently received NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System). The contact stated that he was concerned that the software update was not going to fix the issue or provide the driver with enough time to be safe. The contact stated that he had read that the update was to be a warning that the vehicle would shut down in about 30-60 seconds. The contact stated the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,200. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
