My 2019 F150 has issues with both the cam phasers and the transmission. Every time I turn on my truck I get the ford “cold start rattle” because defective parts from the factory that ford has known were defective and later fixed but for some reason my truck was not in the recall. My truck came off the same assembly line and time period of previous CSP or recall programs but my vin was never included. My truck also has 60,000 miles and the 10 speed transmission clunks all the time. I’m not sure if it’s missing shifts or what is breaking but everyone with a f150 around this year knows they are common to have transmission issues. Sometimes my truck doesn’t find the proper gear getting started and will rev high and barely move until it finally gets shift right and gets moving. These 2019 F150 issues are far...
About a month ago my truck started shifting hard between 3rd and 4th gear. My truck has been in the shop almost 1month Water Solutions is giving me a run around. They drove the truck and confirmed it’s shifting hard. Took the transmission pan out and saw the metal shavings. now they want me to take it to another shop for a CDF air drum test. Have any other F150 having this issue?I need help on what to do

I own a 2019 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost with approximately 117,000 miles. Like many others, I am experiencing the widely reported cold start cam phaser rattle, which grows louder with colder temperatures. This is a known issue addressed by Ford in TSB 19-2365, yet no recall has been issued. I believe this defect poses long-term reliability concerns and could eventually lead to engine damage. Ford should be held responsible for a widespread design flaw affecting thousands of vehicles. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this recurring issue and hold Ford accountable for consumer safety and financial impact.
Rough idling result in Cam phaser and timing belt replacement. While driving the vehicle would accelerate and decelerate on its own making it unsafe to drive. Dealer quoted me $6,095 to replace camp phasers (part #HL2Z-6C590-A)

My 2019 F150 started having a loud rattling noise coming from the motor. I took my truck to the Sam Galloway Ford dealership and it was determined that the cam phasers needed to be replaced however they would not cover this cost since my VIN was not listed on the recall sheet. My vehicle was manufactured in Kansas during the time period and has the 3.5 liter motor and according to the recall letter my vehicle should be included in this recall. Please see below recall summary TO: All U.S. Ford and Lincoln Dealers SUBJECT: Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03 – Supplement #1 Certain 2017-2020 Model Year F-150, 2018-2020 Expedition, and 2018-2020 Navigator Vehicles Equipped with a 3.5L GTDI Engine Cam Phaser Replacement REF: Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03

Had diagnostic done on truck to find out cam phasers need replacement. There was a recall on this issue but was never informed of. Now I’m looking at a $3528.40 repair which I was informed that this can be a regular repair once issue occurs. Reached out to Ford Corporation and was informed they couldn’t help us in any way.
Cam phasers - this is a known issue on the 3.5L ecoboost motors, yet Ford will not stand behind their product. They have paid for some people to have it repaired, and not others. This is about a $4,000 fix at the dealership, again for an issue they knew about years ago. They tried to claim changing the timing with the ECM module would stop it from happening, but as I discovered this weekend it didn't My vehicles ECM was swapped in 2021 and here I am a few years later with the same issue. Ford needs to be called out as they knowingly pushed out subpar engine products to make more money.
I purchased a 2019 F150 through Imperial Chevy in Mendon, MA in 2022. Technical Service Bulletin 19-2365 had been issued on 05 December 2019 and the dealer did not disclose or address the issue prior to sale. The truck has had regular oil changes every year and then check engine light came on - Code P0630 Camshaft Position Sensor B circuit. Ford service diagnosed scoring in the cylinders and verified that it has the excessive oil consumption issue. Solution is total engine replacement. Ford corporate has so far denied the claim and refused to offer financing for $12,000+ repair. Having approved many other claims for the same issue, they are now requiring Ford service to do a teardown before considering whether to pay for this known issue. This truck currently isn't be driven more than a few miles a day to and from work. We bought this truck to haul...

CAM PHASERS!!!! I have a 2019 Ford F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine which started having cam phaser issues. On cold starts, the engine makes a loud rattling noise for several seconds, and during idle a ticking noise is heard as well. At times the engine runs roughly and loses power briefly when i’m driving it. I’m very concerned because it happened to me while merging into a highway the truck cut power down and I almost caused an accident for not getting up to speed properly, additionally this could lead to the car shutting off on me, or other dangerous situations on the road, other than the long wear and tear that these bad cam phasers have on the engine. I’ve learned that this issue is known to Ford and has been happening for many years, and was addressed for other owners through Customer Satisfaction Programs like the 21N03...
Had oil change 7 times in one year and each time they indicate at the place I get oil changed that it is a quart or more low before 3,000 miles of usage after oil change. My car is suppose to take unleaded gas or higher and it knocks if I use unloaded. Now my catalytic converter is going out and it is not covered under warranty unless it is consequential to other problems. Well there appears to be engine problems that are not being addressed and I have a warranty and have taken it in. But they do not look any deeper into the problem except for computer scan and the warranty people won’t give me any answers on what they will do if there is engine problems.
Engine Consumes approximately 4qts of oil every 5000 miles. Rachet sound from engine when let off the gas. Popping/Cracking/Rattling sound coming from behind firewall when accelerating at low RPM's (1500-2000).
Driving highway speed (70mph) and vehicle suddenly drops speed to (25mph) and running at 5000rpm and loses all forward drive speed while pressing on the gas pedal. Pulled over and turned off truck and tried to restart it and it took over 15 seconds for the power start to start the engine after pushing the start button, still had no power to accelerate after placing it in drive. My Ford App sends an alert code reading Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Towed to dealership to get looked at under purchase warranty agreement. This could have caused a major accident if there would have been more traffic on the highway at the time causing major injuries and/or death, this needs to be investigated what is causing this issue. There are a lot of forums on the internet for 2019-2023 F150 having this same issue reporting/regarding “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power”, don’t know if anyone else...
When I go to accelerate fast the check engine light comes on and the car shakes a little and won’t accelerate at all. This is a saftey issue because I almost caused an accident several times. And this is the second F150 eco boost I have had in a year with the exact same problem

The truck would just shut off while driving or not start whenever you need it to. It acts like a dead battery but the battery is fine. It has been at the dealership for 45 days plus straight for this issue. When it cuts out, we lose all steering all breaking all power. I’m very lucky it hasn’t taken my life or one of my family members lives. There are some innocent person on the road because of The lack of quality and workmanship. In my opinion the truck needs to be recalled because it’s been nothing but a hassle for us.
Cam Phasers were recalled on some 2019 Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost motor. Ours is having the same issues as others that were recalled but we were never notified of the recall and it doesn't show up for our VIN. Why would it not be on all 2019 Ford F150 3.5 EcoBoost motor?
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly jolted and jerked, and displayed symptoms consistent with transmission failure. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Vehicle has just 70,000 on it. Engine light came on after the vehicle was rattling at the engine start and running rough at idle and had power issues when driven. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where it was diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced and probably the cam phasers. Over $5,200 + in repair costs. Vehicle was taken to an independent service location for repair where the issues were confirmed.
Truck decelerates while on incline. Engine light did come on. Took Car to Bill Brown Ford dealership. has been at dealer since 2/12/25. Code P0305 due to low compression on cylinder #5 110 PSI, #4 121psi all others at 145-150 psi. was informed necessary to replace long block. The truck was purchased with extended service warranty thru Ford ESP. warranty lists engine replacement is covered. however, ESP not covering it. Research on internet states frequent issues with 2.7 liter ecoboost 2019 Ford F150 has common issues with the cylinders requiring engine replacement
My 2019 F-150, which has less than 60,000 miles, has a bent valve in the 2.7L EcoBoost engine. Bent valves are a known issue for this model engine that has led to a recall for similar engines. Despite being outside the 5-year warranty period, my vehicle is within the mileage limit that Ford sets as a marker for major issues. After contacting Ford Care to request they cover the cost of this premature failure, I waited for over a month to receive their offer. It was for about $4400 of a $10,000+ cost. The partial coverage offered is not sufficient given the circumstances. It's important for Ford to stand by its products and support customers facing problems due to manufacturing defects. Especially with engine models, like mine, that have had so many issues that the company no longer makes or uses that engine model. A recap: • The service advisor...
Unexpected gear downshift, gears slamming into gear, gears not shifting properly
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH on a country road, the transmission failed to shift as needed. The transmission shifted into the fourth gear, then to the eighth gear. The shifter became stuck in fourth gear. The vehicle jerked and hesitated and shifted into neutral without driver input. The message to see the Owner’s Manual light was illuminated but turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that it was a characteristic of the transmission and not a failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. While driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. Additionally, there were metal shavings in the clutch fluid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer...
I have a 2019 f-150 Platinum . Bought it 4 months ago and I've put about 9,000 miles on it and the transmission is going out from what the dealer told me. I bought it from the same dealer that told me what's wrong with it. It shuts off in the middle of changing gears while driving down the road. It's happened 4 times. It's very unsafe. The service department at the dealership said something's going on with the admissions that could cuase it to vaper-lock shut down. They estimated the job to cost eight thousand dollars, which I don't have. It had139,000 when I bought it frome them
Cam Phaser and Timing Chain Failures in 5.0 V8 engine cause engine failure if not repaired. Engine failure potentially puts myself and/or my family stranded on the side of the road. This problem has been repaired one time approximately 30k miles ago and has returned. No check engine light related to this failure.

1st safety problem is while accelerating, there is a rough shift in gears despite being an automatic transmission. While attempting to gradually and safely accelerate, vehicle causes an abrupt deceleration where rpms drop and vehicle occupants are thrown forward during the process. Vehicle was brought to Ford Dealership for repair. They noted a known issue with transmission and completed a software restart/update. Vehicle gear shift improved slightly for short period of time but eventually resumed and is noticeably worse in colder months. This problem has been noticed while turning, resulting in near misses with oncoming traffic and is concerning when entering/merging with traffic at highway speeds. There were no dashboard warning light indicators at any point. Battery was in good condition. 2nd concern: Engine fire ups up on start but stalls while idling when shifting out of park as well as in stopped traffic. "Auto startstop, shift to P, then...
2019 F-150 vehicle is equipped with a 5.0L engine that exhibit excessive oil consumption, to where every month i have to add oil. There are no visible oil leaks. Each time i go for oil change before the 3 months and/or recommended 3,000 miles, im told there is no oil in the engine. After doing research, i found that the issue of excessive oil consumption is caused by high intake manifold vacuum during some deceleration fuel shut off events resulting in oil being pulled into the combustion chamber from the crankcase, valve guides, and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV). To correct the condition, steps to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM), installation of a new engine oil level indicator and change the engine oil and oil filter. The revised PCM calibration reduces engine vacuum during some DFSO events. After calling local ford service center, the issue was confirmed and I was...
Vehicle shuts off randomly when the StopStart feature is disabled/turned off via button in dashboard. The instrument panel displays message on dash saying: “Auto StopStart, Manual Restart, Required” And “Auto StopStart, Shift to P, Then Restart engine” This often happens in the middle of an intersection where I risk being hit by another vehicle. This has happened on multiple occasions. Dealership was unable to recreate problem so unfortunately nothing was repaired. There are many online forums discussing this very same problem.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and while at a stop light, the vehicle was shaking abnormally and lost motive power. In addition, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a faulty wiring harness. The contact was informed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
Engine failure. FoMoCo stated it was due to oil failure. I change my oil every 6000 miles according to manufacturer. I produced records for oil changes and receipts for first 3 oil changes but couldn’t for last 3. Engine had 42,000 miles. Warning light came on stating Temporary Emissions Disconnect but never had anything touched on the engine prior to light. Never found the problem. Engine started bucking and was using oil on return home. Ford dealership found #2 cylinder with no compression. Turbos may have blown and put compromised oil into engine causing issue. Dealership never investigated. Filed pictures, receipts and other documents to Ford Consumer Affairs to no avail. Had to have replaced engine on my dime. Old engine was returned to salvage yard used engine purchased from. Was able to limp back home but engine could have had catastrophic failure on the road. The truck has 50000...
Truck has 85K miles on it and has a loud ticking noise followed by rattle at 1500 rpms even after timing system was rebuilt. Burnes 1qt of oil every 1000 miles. Entire timing system needed to be replaced due to two faulty chain tensioners. Engine was super clean and had zero oil sludge buildup. Currently having a oil consumption test done. Do have repair order that was done for timing system. No warning lights for failed timing system that popped up. I am able to get the repair invoice if needed.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
I leased a new 2019 Ford f150 xlt sport package in the fall of 2019. During the first year, I experienced some "choking" of the engine when I would accelerate. Nothing big, but noticeable. I mentioned this experience to the dealer at regular checkups and they informed me that it was "normal" and that if anything was wrong, the computerized monitoring system on the truck would identify the problem. I bought the truck after a 36 month lease. The choking continued to be a regular occurance, especially for the first few miles of a new drive. Around 30k miles, I noticed the issue getting more pronounced. I again asked the dealer about it and they provided me the same answer as before and didn't offer to explore the issue. Between 30K and 50K miles, the issue became more frequent and would impact the truck whether it was warm or cold....
