NHTSA Complaint #11648756 — 2019 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact had received a recall notification for cam phaser failure and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that approximately 3 years after the vehicle was repaired, the contact became aware of a loud rattling sound coming from the front of the vehicle, near the engine compartment. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the vehicle could not be repaired a second time under the recall free of charge. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 99,600.
