UNKOWN My truck will lose power when hitting the gas. The rpms' rev up and then after a second it kicks back in. The 10 speed transmission continues to be very jerky and unsmooth. I asked the dealer and was told that's the number 1 complaint but there's nothing they can do about. The loss of power while pushing the gas to go is the biggest safety concern for me.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal loud rattling sound coming from the engine. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an oil leak in the engine compartment and also that the 4-wheel drive had failed. The dealer reprogrammed the PCM under an unknown recall; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer - Ted Britt Ford of Fairfax (11165 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030) where it was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
My truck rough idles and shakes violently and then stalls and an error comes up in the dash telling me “auto startstop shift to P then restart engine” Has happened numerous times. Truck currently has 44,xxx miles. This is extremely dangerous at any light, turning intersection, or stop sign. I have read many online threads through online forums of this happening in other f150s to no avail from owners and dealers alike.
I have had the engine shut off while driving … due to the code auto start stop shift to park… I could’ve been in an accident this is the 4th time this has happened. Fix this issue
Motor made rattle then Loud motor noise, lost of oil pressure. Pull in lot and parked vehicle.
Recent oil analysis(mid October 2021) indicates a greater than 5% fuel dilution. The Cummins ASTM method of testing only permits a greater than 5% statement so fuel dilution could be much higher. First sample a year ago indicated 3% dilution. Many factors could contribute to this per research and I had advised Ford dealer with printed reports and they would not do anything at all about this stating it is standard. Oil report indicates a "severe" issue. Ford dealer wouldn't even look into possible causes to rule out. I have concern for a possible engine compartment fire/explosion might happen or possible degradation of engine leading to other possible incidents. Reports and vehicle are available. No indicator lamps or other means to know of this issue without independent testing of oil samples. Fuel mileage is averaging 17MPG.
Cam phasers - after the Ford dealership applied recall 21B10, the engine will shut off at undesirable times, causing a stall and making driving unsafe. This is in addition to serious knocking at engine start, and additional shudder during normal driving conditions and while idling. This recall repair has made things much worse and should be avoided.
Under acceleration, after the engine warms up, it begins to have a severe issue with spark knock clatter which causes a loss of power due to improper computer ignition timing adjustments.

While driving on a residential street the vehicle turned off and displayed “auto startstop shift to P then restart”. This happened several times until I pulled into my driveway.

THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE USING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL AND AFTER OPERATING FOR PERIODS OF TIME, THE SMELL OF BURNT OIL IS APPARENT. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 14,000 MILES; THERE ARE NO VISIBLE LEAKS, NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR DEFECT TO THE OIL PAN, AND NO VISIBLE DEFECT OR DAMAGE TO THE QUICK DRAIN ASSEMBLY. VEHICLE OIL WAS AT MAXIMUM THRESHOLD ONE MONTH AGO AND IS NOW AT LOWER EYELET OF THE DIP STICK INDICATOR. INTELLIGENT OIL LIFE INDICATOR STATES THAT OIL LIFE IS AT 65%.

OIL CONSUMPTION ENGINE USING AT LEAST 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1500 T0 2000 MILES SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL TWICE AND EACH TIME IT GOES THREW 2 PLUS QUARTS WITHIN 1500 T0 2000 MILES OF BEING CHANGED..ADDED 5W20 SYNTHETIC OIL EACH TIME 4 TO 5 QTS. SINCE HAVING THE TRUCK. MILEAGE NOW 14,230 THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW ENGINE!
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN. I WAS WAITING IN LINE OF TRAFFIC FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. MOTOR STOPS, LIGHTS GO OUT. PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO RESTART, WOULD NOT START UNTIL AFTER 3 - 4 MINUTES.
THIS HAPPENED TWICE TODAY 10/24/2020. FIRST TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A TURNING LIGHT ON A MAIN ROAD AND AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE BREAK THE ENGINE SHUTOFF. SECOND TIME I WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD MAKING A TURN AND THE ENGINE SHUTOFF ONCE AGAIN DISPLAYING THE IMAGE ATTACHED.
I PURCHASED A LEFT OVER 2019 IN JUNE 2020. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TWICE FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT FROM A SERVICE ADVISOR. THE VEHICLE'S POWERTRAIN IS JERKY WHEN SLOWING DOWN. IT FEELS LIKE A KICK WHEN IS GOES FROM GEAR TO GEAR UP OR DOWN SHIFTING. THERE IS ALSO A LOUD BANG UPON START UP. I VIDEO TAPED IT, THE DRIVE SHAFT TWIST UPON START UP. SEEMS UNSAFE IF THE DRIVE PIN IS THE ONLY THING HOLD A 7000 LBS VEHICLE OR IF YOU START IN NEUTRAL. OVERALL THE PCM NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION STRATEGY APPLIED. VERY POOR ON FORD'S BEHALF.
NOTICED DURING SUMMER 2020 MONTHS THE TRUCK WHEN IDLING AT STOP WOULD VIBRATE AND TACHOMETER WOULD BOUNCE. RECENTLY DURING JULY TO SEPTEMBER THE TRUCK WHEN STOPPED WOULD IDLE ROUGH THEN SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY HAVING TO PUT IN PARK AND RESTART THE TRUCK! THE LAST TIME IT DID IT I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND IT JUST SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO RESTART THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SINCE JULY. I TOOK IT TO TWO FORD DEALERS AND NEITHER COULD REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX IT.

I WAS DECELERATING DOWN A HILL. I WAS STILL DOING ABOUT 20 MPH WHILE BRAKING AND I RECEIVED AN ERROR SAYING 'AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEN RESTART ENGINE' AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND HAD TO COAST MYSELF TO SOMEWHERE AS CLOSE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS POSSIBLE. THANK GOD THIS HAPPENED ON A LOCAL RD AND NOT A HIGHWAY. I PROCEEDED TO SHIFT TO P AND RESTART THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES UNTIL IT ALLOWED ME TO SHIFT TO DRIVE AND IT ACTUALLY ENGAGE SO I COULD CONTINUE DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND THE TRUCK IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD.
1. ENGINE BEGINS TO RUN ROUGH DURING HIGH SPEEDS. 2. REAR CABIN NOISE WHILE DRIVING (HEAR OUTSIDE NOISES LIKE A WINDOW IS OPEN).
2019 F-150 - 3.5L ECOBOOST, ON A COLD START THERE IS A TICKING-TAPPING OR RATTLE NOISE
THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 13,500 MILES ON IT AND IT CONSUMES OIL DRAMATICALLY AND THERE IS AN OFF THROTTLE RATTLE IN THE ENGINE. ADDITIONALLY, ONE OF THE CYLINDERS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FIRING AND IT HAS NO OIL PRESSURE.
WHEN PUSHING THE GAS THE VEHICLE WHISTLES AS IF THERE IS A VACUUM LEAK, THEN WHEN SUDDENLY LETTING OFF THE GAS THE VEHICLE MAKES A POPPING NOISE, SIMILAR TO A BACKFIRE BUT MUFFLED, AS IF IT'S COMING BACK THROUGH THE INTAKE, THIS HAPPENS ON ALL ROADS AT ALL TIMES, WARM WEATHER, COLD WEATHER, COLD START AND AFTER A HOT START. IT ALMOST SEEMS THAT THE TRUCK DOESN'T PERFORM AS WELL AS IT USED TO, AND THE LOUDNESS OF THE NOISE HAS ONLY BEEN INCREASING, THIS 2019 FORD F150 HAS ONLY USED 87 UNLEADED FUEL AND IS AT 21K MILES

IT'S VERY CONCERNING THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND IS A HUGH SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.

ON DEC 9 WHILE TAKING OFF FROM THE TRAFFIC LIGHT DRIVING AT AROUND 5MPH MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DID NOT ACCELERATE.., THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT, BRAKES WARNING LIGHT AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AS I DID NOT EXPECT MY TRUCK TO SUDDENLY NOT ACCELERATE. AT THIS TIME THE TRUCK WOULD ONLY DRIVE AT 5MPH. DROVE TO THE DEALER AT 5 MPH AND THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON DEC 10 IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN. SUDDENLY THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND AGAIN ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. TODAY FOR THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED AGAIN. ON EACH OCCASION THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THEY DID REMOVE CODES NOT PERTAINING TO THE SYMPTOMS.

ON TUESDAY 11/5/19, WE WERE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT AROUND 45 MPH WHEN I DECELERATED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A CITY STREET. I HAD ACCELERATED BACK UP TO AROUND 30 MPH WHEN I CROSS OVER A RELATIVELY SMOOTH RAILROAD CROSSING AT A SLIGHT LEFT HAND TURN. IMMEDIATELY THE INFORMATION CENTER ON THE CONSOLE START DISPLAYING MULTIPLE ALERTS AND THE VEHICLE STARTED DECELERATING. WHILE THE ENGINE DID NOT CUT OFF, THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE POWERTRAIN AND EVENTUALLY WE ROLLED TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FIRE ALERTS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THEM WAS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE MESSAGES STILL FIRED SO I OPENED AND CLOSED THE DOOR. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE WITH NO PROBLEM AND THE ALERT MESSAGES HAD CEASED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE HOUSE (APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES) AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH...
MY NEW 2019 FORD F150 HAS A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE MOTOR THAT CAN BE HEARD 25 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION HAS A CONSTANT WHINING NOISE CONTINUALLY UPON ANY ACCELERATION. BOTH WHILE STATIONARY, ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN A HIGH FREQUENCY AREA, THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,080.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RED ROCK FORD OF WILLISTON (888-706-7217, LOCATED AT 410 32ND AVE W, WILLISTON, ND 58801) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EGR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO MISSING SCREWS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.
