My 2019 Ford F-150 (2.7L EcoBoost) is subject to Emission Recall 24E12, which addresses a defective PCM calibration that Ford acknowledges "could, over time, reduce the effectiveness of the emissions control system and the monitoring accuracy of the catalytic converter's efficiency." COMPONENT: Catalytic converter system and powertrain control module (PCM). Vehicle is available for inspection at Rich Ford in Albuquerque, NM, where it has been serviced for this issue. TIMELINE: Prior to the 24E12 recall repair, my truck had intermittent P0420/P0430 codes (catalyst efficiency below threshold). The check engine light would illuminate and then clear on its own. I brought the vehicle to Rich Ford for the 24E12 PCM reprogram. Within approximately one month of the recall repair, the same catalytic converter codes returned, except now the condition is constant and no longer clears. This timeline is documented in my FordPass app and the dealer's service records. SAFETY RISK: The...

Truck started smoking from under the hood in the area of the battery compartment while driving. Then truck burst into flames. 53,000 miles. No injuries. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue came to the scene with report number XXX-XXX and can be reached at [XXX] . Sticker shows built in May 2019. There was a recall 19S40 which applied to vehicles made in June 2019. So I was only one month prior to the official recall date. However, 19S40 specifically mentions fire risk. I believe my truck had this defect and was not recalled when it should have been. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was just stopped at a red light and took foot off pedal and the vehicle didn't restart. The instrument cluster showed a warning saying "Auto StartStop Shift to P then Restart". This has happened 4-5 times in the past month.

"I am reporting a spontaneous vehicle fire involving my 2019 Ford F-150. The fire occurred on Dec 11, 2025, while the vehicle was off. The vehicle has several outstanding safety recalls, including Recall 20C19 regarding poor electrical connections, which I believe is the primary cause of this fire. I have a detailed Statement of Facts and fire scene photos available. Please provide a Case Number and instructions for submitting these evidence files to your legal/safety department."

Every time that the vehicle is started the sink system defaults to where no memory is saved. The menu becomes an operative where no buttons on the touchscreen can be pushed, as well as the rear camera will get stuck on the screen while and drive trying to reset the system makes it somewhat operable, but a master reset cannot be performed as the screen freezes.

Rear camera sporadically goes blanks or distorts

Backup camera doesn't work. Ford keeps recalling backup camera all of the time, but mine still isn't included by the recalls. Why would mine not be included?

Truck is stalling at low speeds or idle when in drive or reverse causing me to get stranded in turns or at stop lights. No check engine lights have come on and the dealership said to wait but it’s happening constantly. Occasionally the auto start stop will say it’s failed but the stalling occurs when it’s enabled and disabled

I own a 2019 Ford F-150 with only 94,000 miles on it—barely approaching 100,000—and I’m already experiencing significant transmission issues. The vehicle is equipped with the 10R80 transmission, and the way it shifts gears is extremely concerning. It’s unreasonable for such a critical component to show this level of failure so early. At this rate, it feels as though I’d need to replace the transmission every 94,000 miles, which is simply unacceptable and raises serious concerns about long-term reliability.

Rear view camera used to glitch when put in reverse. Now it goes completely black (or blue) when vehicle is in reverse. There was a recall on this involving 2021 and newer models but I believe this problem goes back even further. Because it’s a truck, I have a huge blind spot in the back when reversing and I worry mostly about a potential accident involving property, persons, or even my own children. It’s very unsafe. I want to note that I was in contact with Ford Customer Service but they said that my vehicle wasn’t covered under the recall and that there was nothing they can do for me.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the infotainment-center touchscreen displayed a black screen while attempting to use the back over prevention camera. The failure progressed and the infotainment center became completely black, preventing the contact from being able to access any systems controlled through the infotainment center. The contact learned of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention). The vehicle was taken to the dealer who confirmed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The rearview camera intermittently goes blank or displays an image that is distorted. When this occurs the camera does not display an image that allows me to see behind the vehicle. This is a reoccurring problem.

The truck would just shut off while driving or not start whenever you need it to. It acts like a dead battery but the battery is fine. It has been at the dealership for 45 days plus straight for this issue. When it cuts out, we lose all steering all breaking all power. I’m very lucky it hasn’t taken my life or one of my family members lives. There are some innocent person on the road because of The lack of quality and workmanship. In my opinion the truck needs to be recalled because it’s been nothing but a hassle for us.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70-75 MPH and pulling a camper, the vehicle started sputtering and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket had allowed a leak onto the alternator, causing the alternator to fail. The mechanic replaced the alternator. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the head gasket was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated while the dealer was performing an oil change, the dealer informed the contact that the timing chain cover and the rear main seals were leaking. The dealer determined that the timing cover seals, the rear main seals, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact...

The truck has a 10 speed transmission it randomly shift gears and something the truck will not accelerate and jump from 1st to 5 or 4th and when going down the highway goes from 10th gear to 1st gear.i was told by Ford to report this. That is a recall for this issue but my truck was not issued one.
#11648423 |
1st safety problem is while accelerating, there is a rough shift in gears despite being an automatic transmission. While attempting to gradually and safely accelerate, vehicle causes an abrupt deceleration where rpms drop and vehicle occupants are thrown forward during the process. Vehicle was brought to Ford Dealership for repair. They noted a known issue with transmission and completed a software restart/update. Vehicle gear shift improved slightly for short period of time but eventually resumed and is noticeably worse in colder months. This problem has been noticed while turning, resulting in near misses with oncoming traffic and is concerning when entering/merging with traffic at highway speeds. There were no dashboard warning light indicators at any point. Battery was in good condition. 2nd concern: Engine fire ups up on start but stalls while idling when shifting out of park as well as in stopped traffic. "Auto startstop, shift to P, then...
#11647236 |
Transmission shifting drags out in some gears and shifts very hard, and slips at times. The truck has died while shifting three time on the highway, once in heavy traffic. The gear indicator has went from 10th gear to 1st gear while slipping on the freeway.

A year ago we took our Truck in because it was knocking, we were told it was dry starting and they had to repair it, it was 5200. A couple weeks ago we’re driving and it started shifting funny and jerking, had no get up and go, we limped to the nearest dealership. Told our transmission went out and it will cost 11k.

Vehicle shuts off randomly when the StopStart feature is disabled/turned off via button in dashboard. The instrument panel displays message on dash saying: “Auto StopStart, Manual Restart, Required” And “Auto StopStart, Shift to P, Then Restart engine” This often happens in the middle of an intersection where I risk being hit by another vehicle. This has happened on multiple occasions. Dealership was unable to recreate problem so unfortunately nothing was repaired. There are many online forums discussing this very same problem.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and while at a stop light, the vehicle was shaking abnormally and lost motive power. In addition, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a faulty wiring harness. The contact was informed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

The vehicle developed a grinding noise in the engine soon after i lost all power and brakes while leaving my driveway i thought I was going to crash into my neighbors fence. I had zero braking function out of no where ans no check engine light, it came back after about 30 seconds being off. Then as I was driving down the road I lost all power and I could not accelerate or anything in the middle of the road again no check engine light came on it was just an instantaneous power loss took about 45 seconds to re-engage. I've lost power on the freeway while driving as well.

vehicle started @ around -15 F, drove it for 15 minutes, parked and turned it off. 90 minutes later with temps around -5 to -10 F it would not turn over. Messages on dash included : full accessory power available, and something about a steering assist fault. Jumping battery did not help. Vehicle hauled to shop. Shop disconnected battery and reconnected it and vehicle started. Fault codes were cleared and vehicle ran without creating new fault codes. If this fault had occurred in the middle of nowhere without assistance available the computer going into no start mode when the battery was not dead could easily have resulted in death from the cold weather. The vehicle computer should have a reset option which can be triggered by any operator.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact stated that occasionally after the vehicle had been driven and parked, the vehicle failed to restart as intended. The contact stated that the failure caused him to be stranded without a vehicle several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

While driving 65mph on I-495 on a +90 degree day in August my 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4, the horn of the F-150 beeped. It beeped again a couple more times then the F-150 powered down forcing me to coast through some lanes of traffic to reach the break down lane. ABS and maintenance due light were both illuminated. My code reader said a switch was shorted so I cleared codes to retest. I restarted the truck and after re-boott was able to drive the vehicle home. Not associated with this enroute power failure incident, I notice intermittent rough idle issues, a tail gate that opens by itself 24/7 with alarm and it is now normal for this F-150 to burn 3-4 quarts of extra oil between each oil change.

Currently Suffering from a manufacturing defect per diagnosis from Ford technician in my 2019 F150 with the 10-speed transmission. I was advised by Ford to submit the form since I must pay for the repair and updated components to fix the issue and would be reimbursed once the recall was issues. Ford has issued a new technical service bulletin (TSB 24-2046) and re-engineered the CDF drum and housing to correct the issue. Below is a list of symptoms I’ve been experiencing along with others from 2017 – 2023: Wrench light is on Clunking or banging noise when starting the engine Rough, harsh or erratic shifting Hesitation between gears Gear slipping Gear getting stuck while shifting Jerking or lunging Loss of power while driving

Transmission has always shift loudly into 8th gear since I bought it at 31k miles. It has 95k miles on it now. Bought it in Nov 2021 used off a Ford dealer lot. Driving a few weeks ago. Going 30 mph. Stopped at a stop sign and then made a left mildly accelerated, probably around 30mph and I was still accelerating, engine goes to redline and engine shifts down to I'm guessing first. Every dash light pops on, and the truck doesn't even show it's in drive or any gear. I pulled to the next stop sign that was not to far away. I brake and shut the truck off and put it in park. I try to start it and it doesn't work. It did not turn over at all. I got it towed to home and checked it out. The transmission control module fuse was blown. I replaced...

This afternoon while getting ready to leave church, I pulled my truck forward about 10 feet with no issues in order to load some things in the truck bed before taking off. The truck started up just fine, and the starter sounded just as strong as it always does, indicating the battery was of good health. Upon starting the vehicle less than 5 minutes later the engine would not start due to a dead battery - or so that's what the symptoms led me to believe anyway. I heard some clicks, but no starter motor activity, then saw a warning on my radio screen stating "turn ignition off or start engine." This could have been at a stoplight, leaving me as a stalled vehicle in the middle of the road had it happened in conjunction with the auto start/stop that shuts off the engine when stopped for a short period...

When we come to a complete stop and going at highway speed the transmission slips from 10th gear to 1st gear while driving then through other gears until it catches back up to the correct gear. The whole truck will stall until the correct gear is found causing us to possibly be hit

Defective 10R80 transmission shifts erratically; fall out of gear and won’t accelerate; won’t shift into drive or reverse consistently. The issue puts others at risk as the vehicle doesn’t function in a consistent manner. Yes. The transmission was replaced entirely, but the problems persist. It has not been inspected by police of insurance. No lights or messages are displayed when the issues present.

Passenger Side Cowl Seal Failure. The passenger side cowl seal fails. When this happens water can enter the vehicle and pour into the BCM (Body Control Module). Once water enters the BCM, it creates corrosion and will needs to be replaced along with the reprograming of all the keys. This is available upon request. My safety and the safety of others is put at risk because when water enters the BCM it causes the computer to short out. When this happens the horn will start beeping and the lights start flashing. This also sets off the vehicles security system. This happens when the vehicle is parked and turned off and when the vehicle is in motion. This puts people at risk because their security system will go off and will make owners think that their vehicle is being vandalized. While the vehicle is in motion the risk is that the...

The first item to malfunction was the transmission gear indicator on the dash, that started about a year after I bought the truck and would intermittently work. I had multiple oil changes in the truck at various dealers and brought it up but nothing ever came up from it since it was intermittent. Then in 2023 a warning popped up that the blind spot indicators were malfunctioning. I was planning to bring it in to be looked at but did not have time to with work and family. Then at 95,000 miles the transmission failed while towing a loaded trailer and began to shift erratically, sending the engine to extremely dangerous RPM levels while trying to downshift. Every gear began to clunk into place with a severe jerking motion and then eventually could only be operated with any sort of safety at low speeds. There were initially NO warning lamps...

While leaving the parking spot at Winco the truck turned itself off and displayed the following message. Auto start-stop shift to P restart engine I was able to restart the engine after putting it in park, if that had happened at an intersection it could have been very severe. There was an update to my sync 3 system that Ford wanted me to perform by wi-fi. I did it but Ford had some bugs in the system that caused my voice recognition not to work so if I need to make a phone call I had pick up the phone. This is not safe or legal in Missouri. Ford sent out a new version but my truck would not take it for some reason. I took it to the dealer they could not update it either. Dealers said I need a new APIM that would cost me $1600 for a part that Ford broke with their messed up update. I just wanted to have this on record in case there are vehicle crashes caused by people not being able to use the hands free calling that I thought I was getting when I purchased the truck.

My wife and I purchased the vehicle used from a Ford dealer in 2021. The vehicle was certified used. We had no issues up until the last few months (began in the summer of 2023), but the issue has grown in severity and is random. The vehicle is equipped with an auto start/stop, which we always shut off. Recently the vehicle has been going into idle or shutting off completely and not restarting even with the start/stop disabled. This occurs a majority of the time as we are slowing down to come to a stop, but has occurred while actively driving. This has us concerned we will be in an accident because we never know when the vehicle will just shut off. We took it to a Ford dealer in October 2023 for the issue. We were told there was nothing wrong and no error codes came up. We can...

The vehicle information screen in the center of the dash has failed. Some of the functions such as hands free cell phone connectivity, navigation, and radio functionality fails requiring manual intervention while driving. This results in distracted driving to correct the issues. The design and expectations are hands free operation of those functions via voice commands, controls on the steering wheel, or automatic functionality. At times the screen goes completely black and distracting noises come from the radio. Upon review of various forums, this appears to be a known long term problem with this important component on several Ford models. This functionality is right in your face and when it doesn’t work, I and most other drivers are focused on the fix and distracting from driving.

I was driving and the windshield wipers started wiping on their own. It was not raining and the windshield wiper setting was on off. This caused dirt and debris on the windshield to smear and I could not see where I was driving. For the next few days windshield wipers would randomly turn on on their own. It svwrely affected visibility. I read online that this was a common issue due to a malfunctioning windshield wiper switch. I replaced the switch and am hoping this doesn't happen again.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the navigation system had malfunctioned, requesting several prompts to be pressed to produce to the desired direction on the screen. The failure caused the radio, Bluetooth, and rearview camera to fail to operate as needed. The contact performed a master reset for all the parts to function properly; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
