I scheduled a OTA update as recommended in the recall campaigns. I was given a 48 hour window where I was unable to use the car and must keep it charged at all times. After completion I saw that the entire update was not completed. And about a week later another update came where I was not notified or scheduled at all for it. I returned to a car with a dead battery. Upon jumping the car had numerous errors and alert signs all over the display screen. ADAS was now detecting non existend obstructions in all directions and was throwing alerts constantly while driving. One two separate occassions both the drives and passenger side doors would not unlock and we had to exit via the rear doors. On another 2 incidents there was no interior lighting at night and I was unable to see the buttons to adjust my...

My car pushed required recall updates without any indication that it was coming and the next day or two the battery died and car is now showing a red light at charging port and is stuck in neutral. I only received 1/3 updates so I don’t know if that was also the issue. It was executed poorly and bricked my car. I have no idea how to unbrick it to life.

Description of Incident(s) On March 5, 2025, I discovered that my 2023 Fisker Ocean had undergone an unauthorized over-the-air (OTA) software update to version 2.2.2 without my knowledge or consent. I received no prior notification from Fisker or American Leasing, the current entity managing Fisker vehicles following the company’s bankruptcy in 2024. Additionally, I have no access to the vehicle’s cloud system or update logs to understand what changes were implemented, leaving me unable to assess the scope or purpose of the update. Following this update, I experienced two significant safety-related issues with my vehicle, detailed below. Driver’s Door Handle Overheating After the 2.2.2 update, the driver’s side door handle began exhibiting extreme overheating, reaching temperatures exceeding 130°F as measured with a non-contact infrared thermometer. This poses a serious burn hazard and makes the handle unsafe to touch for entry or exit. The issue appears to be electrical in nature,...

Recall for faulty software 2.1 affecting the braking: making car unsafe to drive. During the process of Over The Air update to the car, the download(2.2) made the car inopperable. car has not been able to drive since November 14, 2024 when the car was updated.

I was scheduled for the 2.2 update (to fix various recalls) on 11/11/24, with a healthy 12V battery, connected to a tender. I left the car alone for 3 days, to be sure that there was plenty of time for the update to be pushed. When I went to drive the car on [XXX], the car would not drive. It showed to be in "N" (neutral), would not shift to park or drive, every warning light possible was lit on the dash, and the "pedestrian warning" hum was sounding. Even exiting the vehicle and locking it did not turn off the infotainment center. I was unable to move or drive the vehicle in this state, and there are NO mechanics in Arizona with a FAST tool, to diagnose or fix the car. I had a former Fisker Master Technician come change the 12V battery (which cost $305.40 for the battery,...

The car is completely bricked and will not function after an over the air update. It was functioning before the update. Additionally, I had to pay approximately $1300 for labor related to replacement of the water pump that should have beed covered under recall
#11646066 |
I have not received the 2.2 software update. The software delivered to my vehicle is 2.2.2, which has been communicated as an incomplete remedy of 2.2 that has not been homologated. Also, none of the hardware recalls have been addressed on my vehicle. My only local service provider does not accept any recall related work due to customers not receiving reimbursement. I do not have any available options to have my vehicle fully serviced. In addition to open recalls, I have a magnitude of issues with my vehicle, including but not limited to broken door handles, broken NFC reader, broken key fob, broken rubber trim, intermittent ADAS, intermittent reverse camera operation, and missing software features.

My 2023 Fisker Ocean One (VIN [XXX] ) was in the first cohort of cars to receive the Ocean OS 2.2 update during the 24 hour period starting on [XXX]. The update seemed to have completed successfully, but six days afterwards on [XXX], I stopped for lunch after driving a few errands that morning, and afterwards I came out to my car, opened it, then stepped on the brake pedal to start up the car -- upon doing so, I noticed that the three screens in the car that control its operation -- the driver's display (above steering column), the 17" infotainment display, and the HVAC "button bar" control display were all black (not illuminated) despite the car being powered on. In this state, the car could not be shifted out of park into drive. All of the other lights in the car that should have illuminated were illuminated, so...

Someone pushed a new over-the-air (OTA) update to the car and now it is in a perpetual state of “Installing Software” on the main screen. It has been that was for over 2 weeks. I am unable to control critical systems since the software has effectively “bricked” the car’s controls.

Unannounced, on February 12, 2025 update 2.1 was pushed to my automobile. It has amplified the already missing and malfunctioning safety features of the car. I started to receive 12v battery warnings, downhill traction warning light, sporadic ADA system failure warnings including: loss of lane departure warning and avoidance, loss of emergency braking capability, and loss of forward collision warning. The HVAC system is also malfunctioning - fan speed at start up is automatically high temperature and occasional sudden fogging of window interiors at highway speeds. The mileage remaining calculation also suddenly dropped, causing concern I would not make it home from work safely. I'm very afraid to continue driving the car: I worry it is a danger for myself and others on the road. I have been forced to take it to a service & repair center for an inspection to address the sudden low 12v power drop. I...

My vehicle received an unexpected OTA software update over the night if 12-Feb-2025. That process completely drained and destroyed the 12v battery. This resulted in the software download and installation not completing as intended. Since that time I have related the 12v battery, and the vehicle can drive, but essential all of its electrical components such as HVAC, cameras, and all software controls are non-functional and inaccessible. A service center has been unable to fix the problem and tell me it must be corrected with future OTA updates, but I have no means to identify, let alone contact those responsible for those updates.

After receiving 2.2.2 update by OTA team, my vehicle now doesn’t charge. It won’t recognize the charging stations I’ve tried using. I’ve tried exiting the vehicle, turn off and on, and trying again in and out of the vehicle and charging does not commence. Please help! This vehicle is so expensive and the OTA team is taking advantage of us in the US to fix bugs in the software. We are suffering with the poor preparation and support. Now if my car dies because I can’t charge it, I will have a bigger headache by having to replace my HV and my 12V battery.

OTA Update pushed to vehicle caused the vehicle to stop responding to any external signal. Doors will not unlock or open. Vehicle is completely unusable.
#11644626 |
NTSB mandated an OTA to Fisker Oceans. As a result of the poor update my car's ICC went out leaving me with very limited control over vehicle settings including all HVAC which meant I had no defroster (as well as heat this winter). No ability to control the regenerative breaking, charging settings, safety settings, etc. At one point my vehicle would no longer take any charge at all and eventually died. I was forced to fly in a technician at my own expense (airfare and his time) for him to get the car to take a charge again. He was unable to fix the ICC so I still had no control over most systems. It was only after After many months I finally got the ICC issue fixed last week so I can now control the vehicle systems. The vehicle still has false safety warning for the ADAS system which...

Prior to a recall-mandated update of the vehicle's operating system, I received numerous (daily) ADAS warning lights and sounds. Regen braking often (2-3 times per week) jerked the car abruptly. Additionally, the ADAS lane-keeping process was jerky. The vehicle was evaluated by an over-the-air (OTA) team and determined to be ready for an OTA update, which occurred from 11/11/ to 11/12/2024. This update was managed by an OTA team that was mandated and funded by these NHTSA recalls: 24V865000 (Regen Braking OTA-2.2), 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1), and 24V404000 (MCU/VCU Loss of Power OTA-2.1). The OTA update only partially loaded, with the vehicle was at OS 2.2 (2/3) and inoperable for 2 months, from 11/12/2024 through 01/12/2025. I made numerous attempts for support during this time, with communication via the Fisker Owners Association but no information from the OTA team. After I replaced the 12V battery, two recharges, and a remote...

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000.I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the OTA (Over-the-Air) update process for my vehicle. The current OTA process, lasting 48 hours, is simply not feasible for those of us who rely on our vehicles for daily activities. The inability to use my vehicle during this window forced me to pay out of pocket for alternative transportation, which is both inconvenient and financially burdensome. Additionally, it has come to my attention that there have been numerous reports from fellow owners indicating that a significant percentage of vehicles (approximately 2%-5%) have become undrivable following these updates. This situation is alarming and raises concerns about the reliability of the updates being delivered. Moreover, the lengthy windows of 48 hours...

Recall 24V466000 Door handles do not open cost to me $85+ (to be done 3-6-2025), Recall 24V865000 Regen braking stops working on rough road surfaces ongoing, Recall 24V49900 Defective Water pump replacement labor cost $185 done 1-10-2025, Cost for 2.2 to be paid by me $300.+(to be done 3-6-2025), 4-21-2024 Seat sensor put car into park at intersection nearly causing my car to be rear ended, Blind spot warning comes and goes same with auto emergency braking
#11643590 |
Since last software update mileage efficiency has gone down to a 60% of what it used to provide, worried about having some software problems that may cause future electrical incidents like fire hazards.
#11643611 |
I received an update to 2.2 1/3 and was driving fine on 2/18. This morning, the car is undrivable with the brakes not working and a plethera of warning lights and back on version 2.0

There was an unscheduled Over-The-Air software update sent to my car during early morning hours of 18Feb2025. The update did not get applied properly and now car is "bricked". I cannot open the doors even using the NFC reader on door handle. The HV battery was charged at 94%, so had enough power in my main HV battery. I was told that they will monitor the health of 12V battery before sending any updates, which, obviously they did not and now my car is inoperable.
#11643734 |
car shifts into PARK unexpectedly; car refuses to unlock at times; car sounds warning alarms and messages about Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning shutting down; car has completely "bricked" twice
#11643743 |
My car became inoperable after update was sent to the car without communication or notification. Required purchase and installation of a new battery. Continue to have braking / accusation issues when going over a bump. Car will at times not open from the inside.

NHTSA recall campaign numbers: 24V865000 (Roll away OTA-2.0) 24V865000 (Regen Braking OTA-2.2) 24V499000 (Water pump) 24V466000 (Door Handles) 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1) 24V404000 (MCU/VCU Loss of Power OTA-2.1) The above recalls have not successfully been applied to my vehicle. As a matter of fact while installing one of the above (unknown specifically which one because there is not communication), my car was bricked and undrivable and has been since 9/19/2024. There are no technicians with the proper tools (OFT) to fix the vehicle and it just sits waiting for one day when there is a solution. This vehicle is unsupportable and undrivable.

My electric charging system has failed. When I plug my car in to charge it does not work. The car thinks it is charging, but I actually LOSE range. I have tried several chargers, but the vehicle does not get charged. The car functions normally for everything else. I can still drive it but when I get to 0 miles range it will be unusable. There are no warning lights or error messages. The car thinks it is charging when plugged in. I called the dealership where I purchased the car and they said the same thing has happened to at least 2 other vehicles they know of. Those cars have been sitting in their lot for 5 months. The dealership is 250 miles away and I do not have enough charge/range to drive there. It has not been inspected by any other parties.

The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V499000 (Electrical System) and 24V466000 (Structure); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The dealer was not contacted. The contact took the vehicle to an approved shop listed on the Fisker website, Austin EV Only, and a labor charge was provided for completing the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted; however, the phone number only led to a recorded message, informing the contact that the manufacturer was no longer in business. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Braking Issue and ADAS Warning + Lack of Access Concerns I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Specifically, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in my vehicle, which has become increasingly distracting and, frankly, dangerous due to an incomplete or failed 2.2 Over-The-Air (OTA) update is a huge concern. As a responsible driver, I value the safety of not only myself but also those around me, and this situation and others we constantly hear about make me question the process of the recall. Every week, a number of vehicles are reported as undrivable post-OTA updates, with statistics indicating that approximately 2%-5% of owners experience this issue. With 48-hour update windows, my vehicle becomes unusable for an extended period, which is highly inconvenient and concerning. Moreover, I've noted that partial updates are expected,...

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. Yesterday I was able to address the water pump recall however the list service cost $340 opposed to the listed $175. This is a mandatory recall and I had no choice but to pay for the replacement of the water pump. Please help. This vehicle has become an incredibly unsafe and a financial burden. Mandatory recall service should be free to the vehicle owner. I feel American Leasing is fleecing vehicle owners. They...

The car door would not open after many many attempts, red light notifications no longer activated or appeared, braking noise, and car would not shift initially

Turn indicator lights turn on by themselves and stays solidly lit. This makes it the lights useless for actually signaling a turn. Additionally, this drains the electrical system unnecessarily. After checking a wiring connector in the front right wheel well shared by other owners with the same issue, I found the connector had inadequate waterproofing as the inside had muddy water and corrosion. Proper waterproof connectors should have been used in this area which tends to get water intrusion.

NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000, 24V405000 and 24V623000 As a result of a partial OTA SW update, my vehicle has bricked - battery is drained, leaving vehicle inoperable and inaccessible - I cannot even open the door to access the vehicle. I've have my 12v battery plugged in, but is drained beyond chargability and the main HV battery will no longer accept a charge. My vehicle no longer functions, I cannot use it for daily nor even emergency needs. The experience I had following the 2.2 Over-the-Air (OTA) update attempt left my vehicle undrivable. I will need to incur additional expenses to have the necessary safety updates completed to restore my vehicle's functionality. This is supposed to be a free mandated safety recall. Moreover, a concerning trend regarding the frequency of issues reported by fellow owners after OTA updates, approximately 2% to 5% experience similar problems, rendering them undrivable during...

On February 12, 25 my car received a software update. After the update I had several faults drive train, braking, camera faults, avoidance faults and the vehicle would not charge. It was basically bricked. The vehicle could not go into gear and was basically useless. I had to pay $1350 to have a technician get the car in a somewhat usable condition. It is still not back to where it was prior to the update. No warning were given to me before this unapproved update, that was done in the middle of the night, that basically ruined my car. I would hope there would be no further over the air updates. If updates need to be done, they should be done in person in case there are any problems with the update. The technician also told me that my motors are not able to accept this new update and if...

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding ongoing issues with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V499000. I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the OTA (Over-the-Air) update process for my vehicle. I received on OTA update to address 24V86500 Regen Braking Issues; some 4 weeks later my car is not operable. My high voltage battery shows 100% state of charge, but my range mileage eventually dropped to zero and remains there. Even after replacing the car's 12v battery, I cannot open the car let alone drive it. While I had a technician to my house to address my bricked car, I had her do the work for 24V49900 (water pump recall). As planned, the recall part was made available to her (and then to me) at no charge. However, the fee to replace it was $345 dollars,...

There has been multiple recalls on this vehicle. I have not received any recall updates. Software updates were to be sent out to fix the braking situation. I continue to be on 2.0 for the last year, and I have had issues with my braking since buying the vehicle over a year ago. I have a braking warning lamp upon starting the car.

Inability to have Recall Work Completed and Fees Being Charged for Recall Work I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. To date, I have been disappointed to learn that each week brings reports from fellow vehicle owners indicating that their cars have become undrivable following these updates, with a concerning failure rate of approximately 2% to 5%. The issues with this vehicle started, right from delivery. The staff, had me waiting for a couple of hours and finally called me into the back and explained that paint and ding needed to be fixed. They promised that if I took delivery, they would provide me with the needed repairs this was back on 9/26/23. The dings and paint issues were never resolved. What I did receive was a complimentary home charger. The day after the vehicle would self shift into park. This happened too many times to count. I shifted into park while I was backing up, when I slowed down, and when stopped in the middle of traffic which became a safety concern. Several near collision misses while backing up made the situation life altering and produced extremely stressful situations arises from the self shift issue. In addition, a few times I could not even get into...

I received and over-the-air software update pursuant to NHTSA Campaign Number 24V623. This update imposed a demand on the electrical system sufficient to deplete the 12v battery in the vehicle and damage it to the degree that it required replacement. This software update was incomplete, and further updates are still required, so the newly-replaced battery is now at risk. As a result of this software update, the efficiency of the vehicle has been severely compromised. For example, my trip to an from work yesterday totaled 14.3 miles, according to the odometer. That resulted in a drain of 26 miles from the high voltage battery, so the vehicle now consumes approximately 40% more electricity to accomplish the same travel, or , the range has decreased by approx 40%.

Unannounced and unauthorized software update caused a motor control unit failure. My vehicle was unable to go into gear or drive after this unannounced update.

Received 2.2 updates on November 12th 2024. Vehicle didn't next day morning. 12V battery was totally drained. I had to call one of the Fisker old technician to remove the old battery and install a new battery. I had to pay him $400 on that day. He said he had to come back again and update the software as 2.2 update didn't happen properly. He came back again a week after and charged me $1400 for fixing the car which was Brick condition. I have wasted a total of $1800 just in 2 weeks. But still I don't have 2.2 update on my fisker

The vehicle's range has gone down from the original 360 miles to 220 miles on a full charge. I've owned the vehicle since Aug 2023 and it is nearly impossible for the battery to degrade that significantly. This all occurred after updating to OS2.2. My home electric usage has doubled and it's become cost prohibitive to operate the vehicle. Please advise what options are available.

While receiving an Over the Air recall update from American Leasing on my 23' Fisker Ocean One the car bricked....making it completely inoperable. Both 12v battery was good and the car had a SOC of 78 percent. American leasing hasn't responded nor to I can get the information from them.

February 13, 2025 Vehicle is currently "bricked", no response is coming from the car with the fob or proximity unlocking device. This appears to be related to an un-announced over-the air update to the vehicle, which started overnight and without notice. The Brake lights flash periodically and the app on the smart phone do not reflect any of this reality, and also do not unlock the vehicle. Further, the ADAS and brake systems have been glitchy, pulsing the brakes very inappropriately on wet and uneven roads. The ADAS will blink and alert with Sun, Rain, Snow all affecting the system, making for a VERY uncomfortable experience with poor braking management,

After an over the air 2.2 software update, performed about 3 months ago, the vehicle lost connectivity to the internet. The Wifi and cellular connection no longer function (indication and function are absent) and the NFC reader for door access and vehicle operation no longer respond to the NFC card. Also, intermittent repetitive Blind Spot System failure and Collision Avoidance System failure alerts occur throughout a trip.

Following are issues that I have been experiencing with Fisker Ocean One vehicle that I purchased in the summer of 2024: • Heater / defroster is not working. Not able to drive car at this time due to fear that it will snow, or car will fog up inside and there is no way to see through the windshield. • Have a concern driving car without the water pump replacement / risk that car will breakdown when away from home. After driving the car home from the initial purchase, I have not taken the car on any trips outside of my immediate area. • Have not been contacted regarding replacement of water pump or other recall items. • Spent $257 dollars to replace cracked door handle inserts. • Have attempted to engage Fisker mobile mechanic and waiting for availability to complete water pump replacement. Estimated charge for the work is:...

Water pump and door handles are recalled. Manufacturer will not pay. I paid $218.75 for water pump replacement and door handle check. Car is required to have 2.2 software update to be complaint with NHSTA. Manufacturer will not upgrade my software. I paid $437.50 to have my car upgraded. Otherwise, I could not enter my car using a key and I would receive warnings every 30 seconds that ADAS and other sensors were not working. Faulty non-NFC door handle that was recalled. I paid $175.00 to have a new key FOB/NFC card and original key to be reprogrammed so that I could unlock/lock and start the car.
