Our Fisker Ocean is occasionally having an issue when a passenger is sitting in the rear driver side or middle seat. It seems like something related to the seat sensor causes the computer to freeze or get bogged down. When it occurs, the symptoms include: -The yellow front collision and lane change ADAS warnings pop up simultaneously -Cruise control shuts off -Speedometer freezes -Blinkers don’t work (which also means hazard lights don’t) -Regen turns off but braking still works -Tomtom stops tracking the car accurately -Radio freezes -There may be other systems affected that we haven't noticed. A bit of experimentation with the passengers we were able to figure out workarounds. Lifting themselves off the seat all the issues would resolve pretty much immediately. Leaning the seat back down and then putting it back up almost always took care of the issue and it wouldn’t come back for a while...
I am writing to report an issue with my vehicle that occurred during an unannounced over-the-air software update. The update bricked the vehicle, locking the steering and wheels and immobilizing the car. The PKC unit failed during the update, and the resulting tow truck and repair costs exceeded $3,000. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter as soon as possible. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that American Lease sent out a software update without warning, which initiated the failure. The vehicle became inoperable and failed to go into drive or reverse. The 12-volt battery low message was displayed. The vehicle failed to go into start mode. The contact had an independent mechanic remove the software update. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
To Whom It May Concern, I am filing an urgent safety complaint regarding my Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition SUV, which continues to experience braking failures despite the latest software recall update (2.2.2). Fisker has now ceased operations, leaving me and other owners without any ability to have our vehicles tested or repaired. Braking Issue Persists: Despite Fisker’s claim that update 2.2.2 resolves the braking problem, my vehicle continues to exhibit severe braking failures, indicating the issue may be hardware-related. No Service Options Available: Fisker’s shutdown means there is no way to have the vehicle inspected or repaired, posing a significant safety risk to both drivers and pedestrians. Request for Investigation: I urge NHTSA to reopen or expand the recall and investigate whether Fisker vehicles pose an ongoing safety hazard that should trigger additional consumer protections. This is a critical issue that has now occurred on multiple occasions that requires...
Brakes: The brake pedal occasionally oscillates while being depressed. This feels like a tickle and causes uncertainty of control while braking. Speed Control: Loss of speed control experienced during abrupt change in road level (in a construction zone). Loss of speed control engaged regenerative braking causing a sharp decrease in vehicle speed and stopping hazard to vehicles behind mine. Blind Spot Warning: Activates often while driving toward rising or setting sun or other very bright lights. Numerous audible and visual indicators from this warning are a distraction while driving and cause heightened awareness and fatigue. Car is available for inspection. No inspection has been initiated at this time. Dealers are not available as Fisker, Inc. is bankrupt. Similar safety incidents and others have been reported on this make and model of vehicle in the Fisker Owners Association forum.
When regenerative braking is engaged and driving over ruff road the braking disengages causing the vehicle to speed out of control.
Pedestrian Warning Sounds Gone I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Following an attempted OTA software update for the safety recall, I have noticed that the pedestrian alert noises are missing, which poses a significant safety risk not only for those around the car but also for the occupants inside the vehicle. This situation is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the vehicle’s safety features. Moreover, it has come to my attention that a concerning number of owners have reported their vehicles as undrivable following OTA updates, with 2%-5% of vehicles experiencing such issues weekly. The current 48-hour update window renders my car unusable, and now I require another session, an additional 48 hours to complete the update only adds to my frustration. Based on owner surveys, it appears that complete updates,...
There has been multiple recalls on this vehicle. I have not received any recall updates. Software updates were to be sent out to fix the braking situation. I continue to be on 2.0 for the last year, and I have had issues with my braking since buying the vehicle over a year ago. I have a braking warning lamp upon starting the car.
NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V499000 NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V405000 NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V623000 NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V865000 Those are open recalls, The Fisker OTA team couldn't update the vehicle software over the air. My vehicle is not in a safe condition without the successful software update. Please instruct or take appropriate action for the updates to happen and the water pump to be replaced. Thanks [XXX] [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Repair shops won't cover the door handle recall because it is too expensive and they are not being reimbursed from the trust. Water has gotten into the door handle so the NFC doesn't work. Water has gotten into the front bumper connections, so none of the following work correctly: Adaptive Cruise Control Automatic Emergency Braking Blind Spot Warning Forward Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Lane Keeping Assistance Parking Collision Warning Rear Cross Traffic Warning Cruise control stops working randomly and car screeches to a halt. I have had to pay $50/mo for the FOA to put pressure on the update team to get 2.2. Most people still don't have it. American Lease is not cooperating with fixing the recalls.
There are multiple recall notices on 2023 Fisker Ocean, No response from Fisker customer service. Submitted multiple tickets to the Fisker no responce. While driving the vehical acclarate speed rapidly ,shotdown vehical while driving on highways. The following Recals pending more than 6 months ,No responce from FIsker. Customer service phone number no one answer, no email responce. Recals: Cabin electric water pump powertrain modules Braking improvement software update
My vehicle has not received any of the recalls put in placed by the NHTSA. Water pump recall Door handles recall re-gen brake recall OS2.2 upgrade
I am very concerned about these recalls 24V405 24V404 24V623 and the availability of service providers to preform the corrections as there seems to be only 20 service techs in the whole country. For these free recalls I am told to pay and then get reimbursed (From Who?)I have yet to get on any providers schedule. AS a responsible vehicle owner and operator I am looking for answers and direction to expediting these urgent safety issues.
while entering a freeway the car in front braked suddenly and in the process of braking in response our Fisker did its characteristic "chatter" as the ABS first activated and then stopped braking all together causing us to hit the car ahead. Had the brakes not misbehaved the turning movement to avoid the impact would have allowed the collision to be avoided. Our Tbox has not worked since getting the car. Numerous fixes before Fisker went bankrupt did not remain in place and the navigation map has been useless. But much worse is that bc the Tbox is not working we are unable to get the OTA update and must pay for a manual update which has been quoted at $450, PLUS the cost of getting the Tbox reset and equipped with a resettable fuse (another $250).
The main infotainment screen does not function. The car reboots itself every 5-6 minutes while driving. This temporarily disables all the seat sensors, signals or anything that requires electrical. The regenerative braking is also disabled. Furthermore, I can not control any Heat, AC, defrosters, which is extremely dangerous during the winter season.
A recall has been sent to me to me to repair an error in the communication pump with the electric water pump that manages the cabin system. I tried to call the manufacturer but no answer and no dealers know anything about the car.
I have received recall notices in July of this year (Campaign Number: 24V405) and in September of this year (Campaign Number: 24V623) promising to fix everything from braking to warning lights. NOTHING has been fixed yet! How can the NHTSA be placated by a car company that sends out official recall notices and does nothing to fix the problems! Please hold Fisker accountable!!!!
Regen braking sometimes disengages at times creating what feels like sudden acceleration. Several malfunctions of the electronic system, including faulty alarms to go off all the time. There have been recalls on this vehicle, but Fisker has done nothing to repair any of these issues. List of authorized service dealers was promised by end of August and there has been no communication. The support number they advertise is inactive. It is just a voice mail.

I own a 2023 Fisker Ocean One. Regenerative brake and normal brake usually lose control when the vehicle driving through a bumpy surface. The vehicle loses the ability to slow down and brake seems to be released. This is an obvious manufacturer defect and increase the risk of accident when the vehicle is failed to stop when it needed to be. I urge to speed up the recall process to have this defect ratified as it is not safe to drive.
I own a new Fisker Ocean One (electric SUV) and have been notified that there is a safety recall due to a water pump problem that can result in the vehicle suddenly entering limp mode (20 mph) unexpectedly. I'd like the problem fixed ASAP, but do not know how to get the service done. Fisker Inc. is going out of business, and although they sent me a notification about the safety recall, they provided a phone number to contact them (1-844-FISKER1) that is not in service. I don't care if I need to pay for the service myself... I just want to make sure that I'm driving a safe vehicle. Can anyone at NHTSA help me? No "additional details" seem relevant for this inquiry, so I have left them "blank"... PS: The NHTSA Campaign number is: 24V499 and the "voluntary safety recall campaign" is TSB30032401
I have been driving many times with cruise control on. With cruise control on and I hit a bump or pot hole in the road, the cruise control stops and the car immediately slows down. This happened many times as we drove [XXX] in Nevada and crossed cattle guards, and it has also happened while driving on two lane roads and I hit a pot hole or change in pavement levels. When the cruise control comes off, the cars slows down immediately as regenerative braking takes over. This is very dangerous on the highway to say the least!! On 3 occasions, the digital cluster screen has gone completely black, for couple of seconds, no visible driving speed, no visible anything on the screen, it is very unsafe to drive a vehicle not knowing at what speed you are traveling, no warning or no information about drive mode or battery charge info, very scary too
We(Myself, Wife and 2 kids) were driving from Houston to Galveston. Driving at around 60 mph. This vehicle all of sudden turns from Drive to Neutral by itself and Showing several warnings (Please see attached video). Not much traffic luckily, So, we took the exit safely, Hit the break and then everything comes back NORMAL immediately as if nothing happens. We were on 2.0 software for several months. Have been using this vehicle since Nov 2023 and this happened first time.
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated while approaching a red light or a stop sign at approximately 10 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed while releasing the accelerator pedal, and the contact drove over a pothole or an object in the road and the vehicle accelerated at high speed, and then returned to normal operation. The contact was concerned that the failure might cause a crash. No warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that occasionally while the vehicle was parked and attempting to unlock the vehicle, the key fob failed to connect to the vehicle leaving the contact with no other option but to unlock the vehicle manually. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the seat belt engaged, the vehicle made a beeping sound as if the seat belt was not securely fastened....
I am writing to formally notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of a significant concern regarding Fisker Automotive’s failure to meet the deadline for a mandated recall and their neglect in providing me with a recall notice. As an owner of a Fisker Ocen One, I was made aware through Facebook that my vehicle was subject to a recall due to Incorrectly Displayed Warning Lights/FMVSS 135,101, NTHSA Campaign Number 24V405000 and Loss of Power, NHTSA Campaign Number 24V40400. The recall notice indicated that remedial action was to be completed on June 30, 2024. However, as of today, July 1, 2024, I have not received any communication from Fisker Automotive regarding this recall. Further, Fisker does not respond to email communication sent to [email protected] or via phone at 844-347-5371. The lack of notification and the missed deadline for corrective action have left me with serious concerns about the safety of...
On June 8th my husband was driving the car for the first time and when he was coming to a stoplight the regen braking was active, he hit a bump a grinding noise was made, and it lurched us forward and put the car in park. My husband was confused and asked me how often the car does that, and it does it every time I drive it that I have just had to learn to try and compensate for it so that I do not get into an accident. What else am I supposed to do, it's the primary vehicle.
Vehicle will not operate in accordance with manufacturer's statements. I can floor the accelerator and it will slowly creep up in speed but never get above 30 mph. I cannot operate this vehicle safely. Fisker has tried to repair it but has had no luck and have gone completely silent without returning emails. I have called the customer service line and have been discounted after two hours on hold. I have video to send but NTHS does not allow videos.
I was approaching a red traffic light. I merged into the turn lane, hit a bump in the road and the car lunged forward on its own and accelerated. I was able to apply the brake and not hit the car in front of me. This was terrifying and put me and the cars ahead of me at risk. The car has not been inspected because Fisker Service no longer answers the phone to help customers with safety or mechanical issues. You can be on hold for hours and then they hang up on you. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the problem. The mobile technicians have been laid off so there is no help for customers with issues.06
Date is ongoing since November 2023. I am writing to report a safety concern related to the key fob of my Fisker Ocean One. On December 10 & 22, 2023, March 20 & 29, 2024, I have been locked out of the car for prolonged periods of time of more than 30 minutes and up to 5 hours. I have experienced daily failure to properly lock and unlock the vehicle, once I am in the vehicle even when putting the key fob up next to the NCF reader, the vehicle notifies me that no key can be detected, and the car will not start/go into ready mode. Issues continues daily which leaves me stranded and unable to access the car in an emergency. I cannot properly secure the vehicle against theft and unauthorized use, and it deactivates the vehicle's immobilizer system. Continuous signal transmission from a defective key fob can...
The vehicle accelerates on its own when I try to slow down at traffic lights and turns. Almost hitting pedestrians and cars in front of me. The lights in the back seat turn on while driving indicating to the police that I’m doing more than driving in the car The body parts so low quality the door handles are brittle and breaking. They cut my fingers and my kids fingers when we were opening and closing the doors. This car is more than hazardous, it’s highly dangerous to be certified for roads.
Vehicle would go into reduced speed mode and abruptly come to 17 mph on highway. I have called. Emailed. And send message on social media with zero responses. Service department has not responded in months to any service requests.
The primary central LCD display that controls charging the batteries, displays speed information on smaller and management of how the EV works is no longer working. This LCD panel is the only way to set, monitor, modify, control all functions of this car. I have been unable to get Fisker to fix this problem. I will call them and wait 4 to 5 hours on the phone and my call will always be dropped. There is no other option to contact them.
Fisker Ocean One has less than 6K mileage and breaking system is extremely rough and makes lots of noise and squeaks, clash, etc. with abrupt halt sometimes throwing passengers forward. Fisker Ocean One User Instructions do not correspond correct with the actual user vehicle interface as items are missing or not available on the vehicle to correct safety issues per manual vehicle instructions per ADAS instructions therefore vehicles onboard computer is not able to be adjusted. Vehicle will speed up at time and or slow down on own just by barely touching vehicles accelerator driver having to hit brake quick as to not accidently hitting someone infront or trying to speed up as to not going to slow. When barely touching brake pad vehicle does brake abrupt will throw passengers forward. Have spoken and placed multiple tickets with Fisker for many issues on the vehicle for electrical, vehicle shutdown, battery...
After experiencing multiple brake failures and reduced power, now the cruise control is reporting incorrect values. Setting the cruise control to 42mph yields 70mph. This is dangerous and unsafe as you do not know what to expect.
Especially when traveling over rises or dips, or when accelerating after a school zone, the car frequently shakes, sometimes violently.
The Fisker Ocean is an unsafe vehicle. In the two and a half months I have owned the vehicle, I have experienced the following serious safety issues that have put other vehicles and my self at risk: - The vehicle will accelerate unexpectedly, nearly causing me to crash into a vehicle ahead of me on one occasion and almost run into oncoming traffic in another occasion. - Blind spot protection is inaccurate and frequently will not be available. - Lane keeping assistance overcorrects such that it has caused me in multiple occasions to swerve then I have to overcorrect and have nearly missed hitting other vehicles. - ADAS system features (collision warning, front and rear cameras, paying attention) frequently unavailable or misreport problems, causing me to panic trying to figure out what is wrong. The vehicle has been serviced on three occasions by the manufacturer and is awaiting a fourth...
I have severe safety concerns about the malfunction of the vehicle’s regenerative braking system. Since I purchased the car, it has unexpectedly lurched forward during stop-and-go traffic on several occasions. This sudden and unpredictable acceleration poses a clear risk of collision and injury to both the vehicle’s occupants and other road users. Despite multiple attempts over the past six months, Fisker has been unable to diagnose and repair this braking defect. As a result, I am left with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate under normal driving conditions. Fisker’s failure to address this problem promptly raises concerns about a potentially widespread defect affecting other 2023 Fisker Ocean vehicles." Please note that Fisker has responded to customer feedback and issued an over-the-air software update to improve the regenerative system, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is still investigating the braking problems.
This car is scary to drive. When I go over bumps in the road (man hole cover, railroad tracks, damaged road, etc) and hit my brakes, the car speeds up. When I'm using cruise control and I go over some kind of bump, the cruise will disengage and the regenerative braking kick on instantly. These events only happen over certain bumps and make it hard to expect. I've almost gotten rear ended on the highway changing lanes in cruise control and Ive been close to rear ending others as I've tried to come to a stop so many times. I have a 17 month old toddler and this is my only vehicle to get him around. I've asked fisker for help and they keep telling me to wait for updates and the latest update made it worse. This has happened since I've gotten the car and it's happened at all...
The contact owns 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, and on other occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle drove over a small bump on the roadway and the vehicle unintendedly surged forward, accelerated, and then decelerated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
Today, I had to slam on my breaks on the freeway. Luckily I was able to stop in time. However the Fisker completely shut off, flashed every warning light imaginable and wouldn’t respond. I sat diagonally in the middle of a 6 lane freeway and for 5 straight minutes the car wouldn’t work. I finally got the car to turn on but it wouldn’t switch to drive, it was stuck on park or neutral. I had to turn off the car, lock it, unlock it and then the car responded. It was very scary. The 2nd was last weekend I had my car in the garage plugged in for 7 days and it didn’t get driven. When I returned I got in the car to drive and the battery was at full charge. While I was driving to work the battery was dropping several % a minute. After 20 miles...
When accelerating quickly in drive, the vehicle shifts into neutral, brakes, goes into park and shuts down. Technicians have repeated the issue and attempted to fix it but no solution has been found. The dash displays the message, "Brake System malfunction. Service Required." There are a few dash icons that display indicating a "System Fault," "Brake malfunction," and "ADAS fault."
Anytime the vehicle goes over a bump the vehicle lunges forward even if the operator is pressing the brakes. Collison warning does not work properly and lane departure warning is spotty. Interior lights randomly come on and off without any operator control. Fisker has not done anything since November 5, 2023 when I took delivery of the car.
My Fisker Ocean One has experienced multiple ADAS issues including lane departure not working, emergency braking failing regularly producing multiple warning lights, regenerative braking shutting off causing the vehicle to speed up or roll away. I have dozens of photos of the errors and videos. I will provide the link to the photo folder. The technician was finally able to update all of the vehicle modules to 2.0 to try to resolve this. That included a hold function updated. At roughly [XXX] I was pulling into my driveway. My road is a steep downhill to my house then a left into the drive. As I was slowly pulling into the driveway the vehicle jerked violently many times as if it was trying to stop but couldn't. I was not applying the brakes, but letting off the accelerator for the regenerative function to slow the car. When the jerking occurred I...
Component: powertrain. It is unintended braking and acceleration. It is available for inspection. This has happened on multiple occasions: when going over bumps the vehicle jerks and lurches, applying braking or acceleration without input from me. While the braking is causing stability concerns at high speed, it is the unintended acceleration that is most troubling. This happened again this morning twice in rapid succession that almost caused a collision. It is only a matter of time before it does cause an injury. While exiting the expressway, on the off-ramp and following another vehicle, I was undergoing moderate braking (right foot on brake pedal with pressure). Twice the vehicle hit a bump in the road and it unexpectedly and definitely accelerated after hitting the bumps. This caused the car to lurch forward towards the vehicle in front of me. The second time was very close to causing a collision. I have...
I was driving down a residential street, about 20 mph. The accelerator stopped responding -- I'd step on it, but the car would only drift, as if it were in neutral. But the car was in Drive. I stopped in the middle of the road, turned the vehicle off, and then on, and the accelerator worked again.
Loss of drive power/acceleration during operation. On two occasions in the past few weeks the vehicle has become unresponsive when the accelerator is pressed. No warning lights, sounds, or other indication that something is wrong. Regenerative breaking also goes offline but regular brakes work. Car is forced to roll to a full stop and will resume function after shifting into park and then drive again.
When drivig the car for approximately 5 miles at 55 miles per hour the car lost all power and would not accelerate coasted to the side of the road and had to have car towed.
1. The car rolling back immediately after foot is off of brakes pedal with even a minor steepness in the road or parking space, that could be very dangerous upon stopping behind a red lights, or any other situations that another car is right behind this car such as getting in or out of tight parking spots. 2. The car brakes are not reliable. They feel spongy and you can not adjust how hard and how fast they should be pushed down. In 2 occasions I had a closed call hitting the car in front of my car in highway. 3. Sometimes you feel that the car accelerates in an unpredictable fashion but for a short period of time 4. Although promised , there is no cruise control either regular or adaptive in this car Despite of several call, emails, and making web-based services requests, nothing has been done so...
This vehicle has numerous software problems. The biggest one is hat there is no roll away prevention. If the car is placed in reverse, and stars moving, if no other imputs are given by the driver the car will continue to roll. Als, if the drivers door is opened during this manuver, the roll continues. This is also true if the car is in drive and at a stop on a hill. If the brake is released the car will roll backwards and will not stop. Opening the drivers door will not initiate engagement of the brakes either. This is a very unsafe thing to have a 3 ton object rolling with no way for the vehicle to detect it is free rolling. It is unlikely that this situation would happen, but if there was a medical emergency or a sudden loss of consciousness, distraction or something else. the outcome...
