NHTSA Complaint #11564660 — 2023 FISKER OCEAN

This vehicle has numerous software problems. The biggest one is hat there is no roll away prevention. If the car is placed in reverse, and stars moving, if no other imputs are given by the driver the car will continue to roll. Als, if the drivers door is opened during this manuver, the roll continues. This is also true if the car is in drive and at a stop on a hill. If the brake is released the car will roll backwards and will not stop. Opening the drivers door will not initiate engagement of the brakes either. This is a very unsafe thing to have a 3 ton object rolling with no way for the vehicle to detect it is free rolling. It is unlikely that this situation would happen, but if there was a medical emergency or a sudden loss of consciousness, distraction or something else. the outcome could be very bad. Fisker needs to be more proactive addressing their software and improve its vehicles. It is a good vehicle with crappy software.
