The software on the vehicle appears to have been updated without my permission or knowledge. 1) Now my doors will no longer lock or unlock from the interior control panel ... which means that the vehicle cannot drive as I am unable to let people into the vehicle due to how the door/door handles function. The door handles used to protrude out of the door when the vehicle was unlocked. Since the interior control panel on the driver's door no longer functions and the doors automatically lock when driving, I am unable to unlock the doors to let people in while driving. 2) I am not longer able to roll down, or up, any windows from the driver's control panel. All windows are permanently closed and cannot be opened or closed from the driver's door control panel.
While accelerating from a stoplight the car shuddered and came to a stop. All power was lost in the intersection.
Our 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra has lost power, imperiling our family on a busy urban street. Further, after an unannounced and unauthorized software update last week, I have lost the use of the vehicle's central control screen, keeping me from controlling any functions (synchronization to my mobile telephone, the radio, how I control charging, mapping functions, and critical to the car's safe operation, HVAC and defrost).
RCLRPT-24V499-7295: NHTSA issued safety recalls for 2 parts in July of 2024. I received messages in the mail from NHTSA. Fisker went bankrupt and I am unable to get these resolved. Lack of access to FAST tool for service providers and parts for #1 and #2. 1. Inspection and potential replacement of outer door handles due to sticking and failure to open 2. replacement of cabin electric water pump due to water pump failure causing loss of drive power there are also 3 over the air updates provided through 2.2 updates to owners through Indigo. I have received that but there continue to be problems of unreliability and regression of updates to lower version.
Unexpectedly was updated from software version 2.1 to 2.2.1 that has since caused my braking to become harder to make complete stops and increased the brakes being stuck during the stopping process. It has also brought on issues with my regen brake's ability and my range has decreased dramatically. Additionally, I now have multiple status error signs on my front display due to front sensor not detecting and hill mode being activated.
Recall for all water pump and software updates to 2.2
I received and over-the-air software update pursuant to NHTSA Campaign Number 24V623. This update imposed a demand on the electrical system sufficient to deplete the 12v battery in the vehicle and damage it to the degree that it required replacement. This software update was incomplete, and further updates are still required, so the newly-replaced battery is now at risk. As a result of this software update, the efficiency of the vehicle has been severely compromised. For example, my trip to an from work yesterday totaled 14.3 miles, according to the odometer. That resulted in a drain of 26 miles from the high voltage battery, so the vehicle now consumes approximately 40% more electricity to accomplish the same travel, or , the range has decreased by approx 40%.
After an incomplete update to a mandated (part of a recall) software version 2.2, the following happens constantly: Vehicle lost the pedestrian alert noise after the incomplete software update. The lack of the legally required pedestrian alert noises are a safety concern for those around the vehicle. Constant ADAS warnings that are extremely distracting, made even worse when driving in challenging driving conditions, like rain, snow, fog or in the dark. After the incomplete update to software 2.2, the 12V battery was drained and now I get frequent low battery warnings and/or the vehicle won't start or won't unlock. Exacerbating the problem is the sad fact that there are no service centers for Fisker vehicles to have warranty or service done to the car. It is extremely difficult and expensive to find a technician willing to work on this car and a simple 12V battery replacement or update the software...
Following are issues that I have been experiencing with Fisker Ocean One vehicle that I purchased in the summer of 2024: • Heater / defroster is not working. Not able to drive car at this time due to fear that it will snow, or car will fog up inside and there is no way to see through the windshield. • Have a concern driving car without the water pump replacement / risk that car will breakdown when away from home. After driving the car home from the initial purchase, I have not taken the car on any trips outside of my immediate area. • Have not been contacted regarding replacement of water pump or other recall items. • Spent $257 dollars to replace cracked door handle inserts. • Have attempted to engage Fisker mobile mechanic and waiting for availability to complete water pump replacement. Estimated charge for the work is:...
My car was bricked as a result of the OTA 2.2 update on [XXX]. This update was mandatory as it was what Fisker was doing to satisfy a recall. To try to remedy, I replaced the 12 v battery. I also followed online guides to get the High Voltage battery going again, as it was at 0%. I used a 25 amp and also a 40 amp 12 v charger attached to the battery, and this allowed the charge port to go to blue (from red) after 20 min attached to the 12 v charger. Once I attach the HV charger cable (I have tried both Level 1 and Level 2) the light blinks green as expected but then goes to red and fails after about 20 seconds. I finally got it fixed on [XXX] as the Fisker representatives were not able to resolve. I hired an ex-Fisker Tech, [XXX],...
I have three separate issues. 1. When using the Ocean to tow with the OEM, installed from the factory, tow package, using the turn signals while braking will result in no turn signal indication when using a flat 4 adapter. 2. Range of the vehicle has dramatically decreased to the point where range is unpredictable in the Ocean OS 2.2 update. When we used to get over 300 mi of real range on 340 mi estimated, we can no longer get 200 mi on a charge. This can be startling and result in unforeseen out of power conditions while on the road. 3. I have been unable to obtain the recalled cabin water pump which can cause the car to go into limp mode. Shops in the area are quoting more than the advertised $170 that will be paid out for replacement.
As part of the recall, there was need for water pump replacement and door handle checks. There is really nothing available to schedule the manual update of the 2.2 update or the replacement of the water pumps.. The car needs these updates and water pump recall completed and we are getting no where.. The OTA update could brick the car and there is need for manual update of the software.. There is only 1 service center that can perform this and there are additional out of pocket costs to get the recall completed... The car will become unusable or get bricked soon if the 12v battery is not replaced soon.. There are many other warnings starting to appear on the dash and this is causing inconvenience and safety concern. Need these completed and the trustee designee will have to make sure these are re-imbursed and addressed soon.
I am submitting this complaint because my 2023 Fisker Ocean One has not received any of the six NHTSA-mandated recalls, and with Fisker Inc. now bankrupt and unreachable, there is no clear path to getting these critical safety repairs completed. My wife drives this vehicle daily for work, covering approximately 100–150 miles per day, and the ongoing safety concerns pose a serious risk to her and others on the road. The vehicle has multiple serious safety issues that remain unaddressed due to the lack of manufacturer support: Safety features are non-functional – Several critical safety systems are either malfunctioning or have stopped working entirely. NFC Card Reader Failure – The NFC card reader on the door handle has stopped working, making entry into the vehicle unreliable. Vehicle Rolling Over Bumps – The car exhibits an uncontrolled rolling movement when driving over bumps, which creates an unpredictable driving experience and a...
Fisker Inc has gone out of business. A mandatory recall has been issued and the bankruptcy court has assigned a trustee to ensure vehicles are updated to version 2.2 to address safety recall issues. The update to 2.2 has been extremely unpredictable and the trustee has not been able to complete this recall. I had to pay $450.00 to complete the software update. I will have to pay an additional $450 to have the water-pump replaced, plus drive 6 hours to closest service center to have the work done. After the software update almost immediately the estimated range has been drastically reduced. The cars were marketed as getting up to 360 miles on 100% charge. Since the recall update, they now get somewhere around 220 miles on a 100% charge. The technician that completed my update analyzed it with approved Fisker software, and he found that the rear motor is...
NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V499000 Water pump replacement resulted in an out of pocket cost of $420 by an authorized shop NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V865000 OTA updates didn’t complete successfully, and rendered a few modules to stop working. NFC reader to open door stopped working and needs to be reinstalled. Vehicle lost exterior sound at low speed to warn pedestrians.
As I was driving home from the grocery store, the car started to slow down and violently shook to a stop before shutting off. Thankfully, I could restart the car enough times, and the same experience happened every time so that I could make it home safely with my hazard flashers on. Once at home, the car didn't allow me to charge it from my garage and it has been a brick even after replacing the water pump, which I thought could have been the issue, but it was not.
There has been no OTA updates issued to this date for my vehicle. I'm currently on 2.0 awaiting 2.2 update. Because of this I still have issues with braking, rolling while in park, and random and unexpected shutdowns of the vehicle while driving. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP!
The car doesn't change gear, car is currently parked in parking gear. When started, it says car is not intended gear and doesn't change to drive or reverse. Unable to use the car at the moment but still making payment and maintaining insurance on it. Tried reaching out to manufacturer, not able to get in touch with anyone that could help.
Re: NHTSA Recall Campaign 24V499000 Am being told by service center that I have to pay labor costs related to recall 24V499000. I believe this violates Federal law. Attached image of manufacturer saying that labor costs are my responsibility. If I have to pay for repairs then I should be able to take the part to a mechanic of my choosing for installation.
My car stalls when driving making the vehicle extremely unsafe
Regen braking sometimes disengages at times creating what feels like sudden acceleration. Several malfunctions of the electronic system, including faulty alarms to go off all the time. There have been recalls on this vehicle, but Fisker has done nothing to repair any of these issues. List of authorized service dealers was promised by end of August and there has been no communication. The support number they advertise is inactive. It is just a voice mail.
Car has on three occasions unexpectedly shifted into Park and applied parking brake while sitting at stoplight, creating a stalled-vehicle hazard to vehicle occupants and other drivers. Brakes lurch going over bumps and have on two occasions not been able to stop the vehicle before entering intersections because of this problem. Car is currently on software version 2.0 and bricked in garage as it will not shift into Drive or Reverse. There is no way to contact Fisker for assistance and no way to have car diagnosed/repaired.
Fisker Ocean owner, recall notices for Cabin Electric Water Pump and Door Handles. I have no response from Fisker, they don't answer the phone number provided and the website contact them is disabled. The OTA updates have been incomplete, causing fear in the Fisker owners' community that they will make the vehicles inoperative. No service providers exist, and no access to parts exists. While I applaud your efforts in identifying the hazards with Fisker Ocean, it is meaningless with follow-through by Fisker.
The vehicle's entire electrical system is down after a random alarm that start approximately 7am EDT on August 14, 2024. The alarm lasted approximately 30 minutes in duration. After attempts to disarm the alarm via the vehicle's key fob failed, I disconnected the level 2 charger from the vehicle and after approximately 10 mins the alarm stopped but the entire vehicle is inoperable. I have software version 2.1 over the air update for over 3 months. If this malfunction occurs during my drive to work commute. This complete loss of power could cause a catastrophic incident on the roadway. The main concern is software version 2.1 update does not address the current safety recall concerns with powertrain modules and other related safety concerns.
The manufacturer has not contacted me regarding the two earliest open recalls, campaign 24V404000 and 24V405000. I have made multiple attempts to contact the manufacturer to patch my vehicles software and have not received a response. These issues are in addition to other problems previously reported with my vehicle.
Car will not move, gear selection is stuck in park since May 2024 when OTA software update bricked the car. Problem confirmed by Fisker Indianapolis, without resolution.
My vehicle has been stuck at the 1st half of SW version 2.0 and has never been able to complete the full version of 2.0 upgrade. A ticket has been open with Fisker for this issue several months now with minimal communication. A tech advised that there was a component not taking the update correctly so the rest of the install was backing out. The problem now is that I am no longer getting SW updates so can't get these safety recalls addressed - NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V405000 and 24V404000. As of the past couple of months, Fisker has been totally non-responsive since there are no more local techs, no response to 800 number, or email. Essentially I am at a loss as to how to get these recalls addressed. I am raising this concern with the NHTSA as issuing recalls are great, but if the fix is within a...
Vehicles spontaneously losses power while driving. During this time power steering is disabled. Fisker technicians reported it was a known issue that would be corrected via a software update. The company is now bankrupt and no longer providing software updates.
Our Fisker Ocean has experienced occasional power lapses, but we could overcome them by switching driving modes. This afternoon on our return drive home the car shuddered when approaching a red light, and my ADAS alert went off. A few miles later the car would not proceed at all, and I switched driving modes but without luck. Pulled over and conducted the soft reset of the car's operating system, still no luck. If I could sense patterns, this has only occurred after updating to the car's operating system to 2.0. And it seems the car disagrees with our warm spring temps, as these incidents didn't occur in February or March. Submitted a work order 2 weeks ago for the deceleration issue (as well as no air conditioning and a strange fan noise), no one from the company has followed up.
There is an electrical component to this vehicle that is not shutting off. I charged the car to 80%, drove approximately 12 miles, locked the car at approximately 3:45 pm and it sat until 9:45am today. The vehicle has drained to 68%. I have proof of the charge for Electrify America and proof of the mileage.
Vehicle would go into reduced speed mode and abruptly come to 17 mph on highway. I have called. Emailed. And send message on social media with zero responses. Service department has not responded in months to any service requests.
The 2 LCD screens that display all car data from speed to navigation to charging to safety features have all gone dark. My Fisker Ocean One only had 1485 miles on it when this screen failure occurred. I cannot tell how much change the car has. I cannot tell how fast I am driving.
The primary central LCD display that controls charging the batteries, displays speed information on smaller and management of how the EV works is no longer working. This LCD panel is the only way to set, monitor, modify, control all functions of this car. I have been unable to get Fisker to fix this problem. I will call them and wait 4 to 5 hours on the phone and my call will always be dropped. There is no other option to contact them.
Cascading brake failures while driving. ABS unavailable. Regenerative braking unavailable causing the brake pedal to be really heavy and hard to stop. Parking brake warning. Tire pressure monitoring error. Traction control error (esc). Loud pump or motor noise coming from the rear when parked when failure occurs. Have video of this noise. This error is also causing the rear drive motor to not engage, causing half the power vehicle is supposed to have and front wheel drive only.
I was driving at 50 mph, midday, on a local road. All of a sudden, got a motor error, the motor light came up in red on the dash, all safety lights turned on on the dashboard - brake, adaptive assist (ADAS), motor fault, no safety features available. The car would not accelerate wit pushing the pedal and the car lost all propulsion. I was able to coast to the side of the road and come to a stop. No brakes were functional.
On 3/29/24 my wife was driving the Fisker home on the freeway. She had about 20% battery left and was 5 miles from home. All of a sudden, the car lost power and she started to coast on the freeway. Nothing happened when she pushed on the accelerator. She made it to the side of the road. Stopped the car. And then turned it on again and all was fine and drove home. She was severely shaken to completely lose power on the freeway. Then the same thing happened to me on 4/5/24. I was traveling with the cruise control on at 70 mph and I was on the Interstate 80 freeway. I was eastbound, 2 miles from the Bus. 80 junction. All of a sudden, the screen in front of me started flashing. It said "front ADAS malfunction", "braking problem, drive safely" " Battery low, 12v/HV". The car slowed...
As I was driving in the middle of a rainstorm and the typical collision avoidance, lane departure, blind spot monitoring lights turned on and off intermittently, which was expected with this car. I’m used to it by now. But as I came down a descent on the two lane highway (CA interstate 80 around Truckee), as I slowly let go of the accelerator to allow for regen breaking to kick in, I got alerts for break malfunctions and failed regen breaking. Then all of a sudden, the accelerator lost all response and started to slow. I applied pressure to the accelerator and got nothing. Luckily there were no cars around, so I was able to cut across the next lane and onto the shoulder. Luckily the mechanical brakes still worked, though no regen breaking. I came to a complete stop, and as soon as I put the car into (P)ark...
We were driving down a parkway and a yellow message flashed "battery malfunction" and the high-voltage battery fault came on and the car lost power while on a public road. I could break & steer but that was all. I was on a public road and had to coast down the hill (luckily was able to maintain speed) and there happened to be a parking lot I could coast into when we got to the bottom. I called road side assistance and gave them all the information, had my partner pick me and the kids up, and the car was later towed to my house. The car was at 70% Power and in Earth mode when all of this happened. Other issues that happened during this drive: Key Fob wouldn't work several times – car wouldn't lock or open after multiple attempts to use the lock/unlock button and even holding...
I had a complete loss of power the car abruptly stopped in the middle of the fast lane on the freeway 680 in the San Francisco Bay area. Very dangerous situation highway patrol came had to stop the highway. I was able to get the car rolled to the shoulder and then I had to have it towed to my house. Could’ve been a very dangerous situation where crashes could’ve occurred. It stopped the entire five lanes of the highway.
I have had Fisker for over a month now and it is not a drivable vehicle at the moment as it poses serious safety issues with numerous parts or functionality showing errors and suddenly not available. I would like these issues to be addressed ASAP within 30 days. There is no service center or service or place available where I can take this vehicle to showcase the issues and where the appropriate fixes can be done, which to my mind are non-available. There are many owners on Facebook and other blogs complaining about these issues. Yesterday, I was about to rear-end the vehicle in front due to regenerative braking not working. This vehicle is not fit to be permitted for sale, more so in working condition, creating safety issues. Many safety features stop working in the middle of the drive. If my complaint is not addressed within 7 days, I...
