I was driving the car and it suddenly lost all power and created hazards situation in the middle of the road. The car stalled, luckily there were not much traffic and I was able to stop and after a while it regained some power so I was able to drive the car back home.
American Lease and Management (AL) company acquired fleet of Fisker Ocean vehicles with a commitment to push Software Updates Over The Air (OTA) to all the Fisker Ocean Vehicles sold by Fisker. AL pushed the update to software on Fisker vehicles (including mine) very irresponsibly and as a result my vehicle is undrivable (Bricked). AL is very hard to reach, their phone number don't work. For me to get a Technician to the location where my vehicle is bricked and manually update the software to unbrick it, would cost me thousands of dollars. This should not havd happened in the first place, but because of AL negligence and lack of responsibility, there are many cars out there that are in same situation as mine is now.
There was a safety over the air update which happened on Feb 13 2025. After that the vehicle is completely unoperable. After the NHSTA mandated update the car does not shift from Neutral to drivable gear. It's become a brick.
I am writing to report an issue with my vehicle that occurred during an unannounced over-the-air software update. The update bricked the vehicle, locking the steering and wheels and immobilizing the car. The PKC unit failed during the update, and the resulting tow truck and repair costs exceeded $3,000. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter as soon as possible. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact received an unknown recall notification. The contact attempted to reach the manufacturer but was unsuccessful since the company had filed for bankruptcy protection and was no longer in business. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle shuddered violently and stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact merged to the left side of the road. A mobile mechanic diagnosed the vehicle at the residence. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with vehicle control unit (VCU) corruption, drive train corruption, and software corruption. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred after driving 200 ft. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that a field technician would be sent to perform the vehicle control unit (VCU), drive train, and software updates. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. The contact stated that the manufacturer had...
American Leasing retains control of the FAST Diagnostic System system software used by the few remaining Fisker Service Technicians. FAST allows technicians to upgrade firmware in various components in the car. Some are related to current recalls on braking, electric motor controls, as well as modules related to ADAS system not completed by Fisker; yet, system which generates numerous "alarms" while driving creating a distracted driving nightmare especially during poor weather conditions. Without this "OEM" service tool, service techs have a difficult time installing updates, resetting components, or diagnosing failed parts. It is one of the few lifelines available for single vehicle owners to continue to operate our Fisker's safely. American Leasing is price gouging non-American Lease service technicians for access to this tool to service the approximate 4,000 vehicles bought in the open market prior to bankruptcy. They know it is our service technicians only complete diagnostic tool and...
The software on the vehicle appears to have been updated without my permission or knowledge. 1) Now my doors will no longer lock or unlock from the interior control panel ... which means that the vehicle cannot drive as I am unable to let people into the vehicle due to how the door/door handles function. The door handles used to protrude out of the door when the vehicle was unlocked. Since the interior control panel on the driver's door no longer functions and the doors automatically lock when driving, I am unable to unlock the doors to let people in while driving. 2) I am not longer able to roll down, or up, any windows from the driver's control panel. All windows are permanently closed and cannot be opened or closed from the driver's door control panel.
To Whom It May Concern, I am filing an urgent safety complaint regarding my Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition SUV, which continues to experience braking failures despite the latest software recall update (2.2.2). Fisker has now ceased operations, leaving me and other owners without any ability to have our vehicles tested or repaired. Braking Issue Persists: Despite Fisker’s claim that update 2.2.2 resolves the braking problem, my vehicle continues to exhibit severe braking failures, indicating the issue may be hardware-related. No Service Options Available: Fisker’s shutdown means there is no way to have the vehicle inspected or repaired, posing a significant safety risk to both drivers and pedestrians. Request for Investigation: I urge NHTSA to reopen or expand the recall and investigate whether Fisker vehicles pose an ongoing safety hazard that should trigger additional consumer protections. This is a critical issue that has now occurred on multiple occasions that requires...
the car goes into neutral while driving. (Loss of POWER) Happened over 10 times. I need to pull over , come to a complete stop and start the car again. It has happened on the highway and on regular roads. Had the water pump replaced twice and a new 12 v battery installed. The problem has gotten better since but still happens. the first indication is the red batterie light turns on and then car goes in neutral.
Was driving down the road on multiple occasions vehicle had a loss of power going into a limp mode and slowing abruptly.
Car is unsafe to drive due to sudden power loss. Faulty water pump causes car to go into limp mode. NHTSA Campaign number 24V499000 for water pump failure. Parties responsible /assigned by the Bankruptcy court have not corrected issue. Car parked since November 15, 2024.
Car is unsafe to drive, due to sudden power loss. Faulty water pump causes car to stall/loss of power. NHTSA Campaign number 24V499000 for faulty water pump. Car has been parked since November 14, 2024. Parties responsible/assigned by the bankruptcy court to complete repairs have not contacted me to repair car. American lease/Indigo have funds/ monies for repairs.
My car pushed required recall updates without any indication that it was coming and the next day or two the battery died and car is now showing a red light at charging port and is stuck in neutral. I only received 1/3 updates so I don’t know if that was also the issue. It was executed poorly and bricked my car. I have no idea how to unbrick it to life.
I was upgraded to the different version by American Leasing because they control the Fisker recall. They had me on 2.2 (1/3) then 2.2.2 and then back down to 2.2.1 and now I have issues with my car. no blind spot and radr errors, and the fix for taking your foot off the brake and going over bumps is gone, the car jumps forward again
Recall for faulty software 2.1 affecting the braking: making car unsafe to drive. During the process of Over The Air update to the car, the download(2.2) made the car inopperable. car has not been able to drive since November 14, 2024 when the car was updated.
Car is unsafe to drive due to water pump failure. NHTSA campaign number: 24V499000 and door handle malfunction NHTSA CN: 24v466000. It has been many months and have not been contacted by responsible parties that have the funds through the Bankruptcy court to fix the recalls. As well the failed OTA updates that wont allow car to go into gear. NHTSA CN: 24v865000.
Car is unsafe to drive due to braking recall(faulty regen braking)(24V865000), water pump recall (loss of power )(24V99000) and door handle recall(lock in car)(24V404000). Bankruptcy court has allocated monies for Repair but i have not received any repairs or notifications from responsible parties. Car is undriveable.
Car is unsafe to drive due to faulty brakes (regen fails and car looses ability to brake) NHTSA CN: 24V865000 Car will loose power due to faulty water pump go into limp mode or stall. NHTSA CN: 24V99000 Car needs software updates for braking issue(version 2.2) and water pump replacement with updated water pump. Parties assigned/funded by Bankruptcy court have not contacted me to repair the car. it has been since parked since November of 2024.
Car looses power due to faulty water pump. NHTSA CN: 24v499000. CAR is not road worthy since it can loose power at anytime. The parties assigned/funded by the Bankruptcy court have completed the braking software updated but have not replaced the water pump per the recall. i have not had any communication to when car will be repaired.
I have not received the 2.2 software update. The software delivered to my vehicle is 2.2.2, which has been communicated as an incomplete remedy of 2.2 that has not been homologated. Also, none of the hardware recalls have been addressed on my vehicle. My only local service provider does not accept any recall related work due to customers not receiving reimbursement. I do not have any available options to have my vehicle fully serviced. In addition to open recalls, I have a magnitude of issues with my vehicle, including but not limited to broken door handles, broken NFC reader, broken key fob, broken rubber trim, intermittent ADAS, intermittent reverse camera operation, and missing software features.
None of the following recalls have been corrected/ or the update to 2.2, have been completed on my vehicle Recalls are not being done or parts provided. I am being told I have to use an approved service provider and the requires me to drive 350 mile and pay for the labor. 24V865000 (Regen Braking OTA-2.2) 24V499000 (Water pump) 24V466000 (Door Handles) 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1) 24V404000 (MCU/VCU Loss of Power OTA-2.1)
In Aug 2024, the NHTSA (Campaign # 24V499) issued a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign for the 2023-24 Fisker Ocean One's Cabin Electric Water Pump. I had my 2023 Fisker Ocean One's water pump replaced by a mobile technician that charged $256.88 plus $224.85 for travel for the water pump replacement (more than the Liquidating Trustee's Designee's $175 allowance). The technician also checked all door handles at no charge, and they tested OK. Therefore, I am out of pocket $481.73 minus the $175 allowance...which I'm still uncertain when I will receive the $175 allowance.
I was invited to an over the air update cohort six. I left my car at work for a couple of days so that my car would be connected to solid reliable Wi-Fi the car was great before the update. I was on 2.1. After the update the car indicated 2.2.(2/3) The main issue is unreliable ICC. Center screen is often times blank also experiencing trouble getting it to go into drive modes and sometimes the screen is diagonal. Also, tire pressure monitoring indicates malfunction and light is illuminated. And hill descend control fault light is illuminated when traveling over 17 miles an hour. My car is not reliable as sometimes have to fiddle with it as much as 45 minutes to get it to go into a drive mode I believe it’s because Hollywood mode is partially engaged and screen is slanted. it was at least partially functioning, but...
Since last software update mileage efficiency has gone down to a 60% of what it used to provide, worried about having some software problems that may cause future electrical incidents like fire hazards.
Car became inoperable after a failed recall software update was attempted.
Their are multiple recalls for Fisker Ocean One but none have been serviced and no contacts for recalls and service.
* Safety recall 24V499 - replacement of cabin electric water pumps. Pump was replaced [XXX] by Nuts and Volts automotive. Cost to me was $185.71 including parts, supplies and $150 labor. Liquidating trustee / American Lease is providing $175 for pump replacement and door handle checks. * Safety recall ?? - replacement of door handles that fail a pull test. I had a front drivers side and a right rear door handle that failed the pull test as administered by Nuts and Volts Automotive using the prescribed tool on [XXX]. Cost to replace will be $150 for NFC front door handles and $100 for the right rear, vs Liquidating trustee / American Lease is providing $100 for NFC door handle and $80 for others (right rear in my case). The tool was not available when the pump was changed. Problem - door handles being provided by American Lease (as designated...
On February 12, 25 my car received a software update. After the update I had several faults drive train, braking, camera faults, avoidance faults and the vehicle would not charge. It was basically bricked. The vehicle could not go into gear and was basically useless. I had to pay $1350 to have a technician get the car in a somewhat usable condition. It is still not back to where it was prior to the update. No warning were given to me before this unapproved update, that was done in the middle of the night, that basically ruined my car. I would hope there would be no further over the air updates. If updates need to be done, they should be done in person in case there are any problems with the update. The technician also told me that my motors are not able to accept this new update and if...
I am $851 out of pocket for repairs to address NHTSA mandated recalls. Software updates have not fully addressed all issues, notably excessive and distracting repeating audible and visual driver alerts related to ADAS failures, especially when raining, dark, or driving into direct sunlight. Vehicle was subject to multiple recalls (software: 24V865000, 24V623000, 24V405000, 24V404000; hardware: 24V499000) manufacturer is bankrupt, zero follow-through from trustee / administrators to enable me to get these recalls addressed. There is an "OTA" team who are responsible for delivering software updates over the air. They are opaque, uncontactable, and appear to operate beholden to no-one. They have failed to establish a method for providing the NHTSA mandated software updates. The Fisker Owner's Association has attempted to fill the administrative delinquency but they are also not getting support. My complaint is based on the requirement that the manufacturer ensures I am not out of pocket for...
Unannounced and unauthorized software update caused a motor control unit failure. My vehicle was unable to go into gear or drive after this unannounced update.
NO Recall work performed on my car. Received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V499000 & Recall TSB10032403. NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V623000 (Service Brakes, Electric) Fisker Inc has gone out of business. A mandatory recall has been issued and the bankruptcy court has assigned a trustee to ensure vehicles are updated to version 2.2 to address safety recall issues. The update to 2.2 has been extremely unpredictable and the trustee has not been able to complete this recall. I spent #300 for replace the water pump and another $200 for diagnostic work and there is no fix at the moment for the electric issues with the car (especially ADAS and blind spot) however the trustee is still responsible for rolling out this buggy software and possibly damaging more cars with each remote installation.
I request that compliance to Fisker Recalls be enforced due failure of Fisker (Bankrupt) , and its OTA team and trustee to pay for water pump recall service and to complete other required other recalls. I have paid out of pocket a service tech $200 for the water pump recall, , $175 plus $25 for mobile/travel fee. The trustees have not been responsive on how to get service or on reimbursements. The OTA team responsible for Software recall work has also been non-responsive. I have received a partial OTA update that does not include any of the components required by the recall work . Also after the bankruptcy , near my home in Arizona, Fisker FAST tools were being used to perform software recall work on cars being transferred to American lease. Fisker employees at the tempe site were unresponsive to have my vehicle updated. And then the Fisker FAST...
I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. I am still waiting for Fisker to address the water pump issue of my car. I have tried to get in touch with them multiple times without success. The lack of service personnel, with only around 20 available nationwide and just five who can travel to address undriveable cars, only adds to the urgency of this matter. It is imperative that this process is reviewed and the underlying safety concerns that have left many of us feeling unsupported and frustrated are resolved in a manner that will be free of cost and successful to the majority of owners. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
My car has few safety recalls to be addressed but with the bankruptcy of Fisker, we do not have proper means, parts, and technician to perform the recall fix.
There are multiple recall notices on 2023 Fisker Ocean, No response from Fisker customer service. Submitted multiple tickets to the Fisker no responce. While driving the vehical acclarate speed rapidly ,shotdown vehical while driving on highways. The following Recals pending more than 6 months ,No responce from FIsker. Customer service phone number no one answer, no email responce. Recals: Cabin electric water pump powertrain modules Braking improvement software update
The manufacturer was required by NHTSA to update the vehicle software to address critical safety issues. This effort was implemented through Over The Air (OTA) updates last fall. This software update was a very large and complex file and required the car to be "On" for the duration of the updates. This caused the 12 V battery to drain beyond capacity, and the update was only partial, resulting in a non-operating vehicle. In order to remedy this situation, a local technician was needed to manually install this update, resulting in an $800 charge directly to me for this mandatory recall. The technician was able to "unbrick" my car, as well as complete the software update to the NHTSA required software level of version 2.2. Even after this update, my car is unreliable, and has safety issues with warning lights in the dash. There were 3 critical recalles issues by the...
Inability to Schedule Recall Work + Lack of Availability I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. To date, I have been disappointed to learn that each week brings reports from fellow vehicle owners indicating that their cars have become undrivable following these updates, with a concerning failure rate of approximately 2% to 5%. This is unacceptable for any customer who relies on their vehicle for daily transportation. Additionally, the lengthy 48-hour windows during which our cars become unusable only exacerbate...
My vehicle is not shifting in to a drivable gear. Screen displays error message with no possible solution. Vehiclweis just sitting in my carport collecting dust. FISKER company and its owner Henrik Fisker need to be brought before a court and be held accountable for the gross mismanagement of the company and betraying the trust of thousands of people who bought the vehicles because of the false promises from Mr. Fisker.
I am submitting this complaint because my 2023 Fisker Ocean One has not received any of the six NHTSA-mandated recalls, and with Fisker Inc. now bankrupt and unreachable, there is no clear path to getting these critical safety repairs completed. My wife drives this vehicle daily for work, covering approximately 100–150 miles per day, and the ongoing safety concerns pose a serious risk to her and others on the road. The vehicle has multiple serious safety issues that remain unaddressed due to the lack of manufacturer support: Safety features are non-functional – Several critical safety systems are either malfunctioning or have stopped working entirely. NFC Card Reader Failure – The NFC card reader on the door handle has stopped working, making entry into the vehicle unreliable. Vehicle Rolling Over Bumps – The car exhibits an uncontrolled rolling movement when driving over bumps, which creates an unpredictable driving experience and a...
Car stopped in middle of the street and not moved. Totally dead
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V499000 (Electrical System), 24V405000(Electrical System), 24V404000(Electrical System), 24V623000 (Service Brakes, Electric), 24V865000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Auto Hold Brake System/Brake Hold) and 24V466000 (Structure); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated after parking the vehicle, the vehicle rolled away. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing unexpected reduction in regenerative braking system and loss of drive power. The contact also stated that the door handles were sticky and failed to return to the lock or unlock position as needed, upon locking or unlocking the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing other undisclosed failures related to the recalls. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had...
I was scheduled to receive the 2.2 software update November 12 and noticed a low voltage battery warning some time earlier in the day, November 11 - this is not the main battery, as it was charged around 70%. Was this related to the download maybe? From reading threads, the best way to charge is to drive, so I went for a drive through local parks for about 30 minutes. Fast forward to later that night and I was driving home and received the warning again, but this time in a more critical fashion (beeps, red caution blinking, etc) and then a couple seconds later while turning on a bend the car totally shut down, the wheel locked up, breaks activated in full and I slid straight into the curb and got a flat tire and broke the wheel on the axel. Thankfully I was alone and was not hurt,...
The car doesn't change gear, car is currently parked in parking gear. When started, it says car is not intended gear and doesn't change to drive or reverse. Unable to use the car at the moment but still making payment and maintaining insurance on it. Tried reaching out to manufacturer, not able to get in touch with anyone that could help.
Was driving at approx 40 mph, car shut off completely but was able to get off to the side of a main road. No one was injured and no accident, however, this car is an absolute mess, is completely unsafe and none of them should be on roads, anywhere. I am supposed to get a recall OTA update, but I have no connectivity, no one can fix it, and I cannot get the necessary recall update. However, I do not trust that OTA even if I could get it. Some owners are getting this necessary OTA pushed to their vehicles and it is bricking them. Everything with these cars should be investigated, including, American Leasing and FOA (Fisker Owners Association) as they are collaborating with each other to push these OTAs to peoples vehicles, and neither of them are car makers, manufacturers, or auto companies.
I have 2.1. software and the car was bricked (inoperable) for 2 month until a tech from Ocean Reapiar Services (ORS) unbricked the car. What he found was that the drive motor units are corrupt and any Over The Air updates will brick the car again. The technician came back with a engineer 2 more times in 10 days to try to remedy the problem and the conclusion was that if I receive any over the air updates (OTA) the car will brick again and not be functional. According to the Tech and engineer from ORS. The drive motor units are corrupt and there are no fixes for this problem and any OTA's will make the car inoperable .
These are some of the recall issues with the Fisker Ocean. These problems can be fixed with an OTA software update, however, this update is being blocked/suspended by company that is controlling Fisker. I cannot safely drive my vehicle until the recalls are resolved
I have received recall notices in July of this year (Campaign Number: 24V405) and in September of this year (Campaign Number: 24V623) promising to fix everything from braking to warning lights. NOTHING has been fixed yet! How can the NHTSA be placated by a car company that sends out official recall notices and does nothing to fix the problems! Please hold Fisker accountable!!!!
After software update 2.1 vehicle bricked. Parked car in garage with everything working with 80% charge. Two hours later every fault light was lit on drivers display when stepping on the brake and showing 0% on HV battery. 30 seconds later upon stepping on the brake the car shuts off except the information screen. 15 seconds after unlocking car the charge port light goes from sold blue to red. Vehicle is inoperable. No one at Fisker responds.
The vehicle was parked the evening of September 9th and when I tried to leave the morning of September 10th the car will not shift from Park. The specific message is "Gear shift error. Car not in intended gear". Occasionally the dash also displays a message "Seat belt system malfunction Service required". I have driven the vehicle 15,687 miles and this is the first MAJOR problem I have experienced.
AFTER A SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.1, THE VECHICLE BECAME UNDRIVEABLE. CANNOT BE SHIFTED OR ENGAGE INTO DRIVE MODE. ITS STUCK ON NEUTRAL
