THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

WE PURCHASED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AND AFTER THREE MONTHS OF OWNING IT WE NOW NEED A NEW ENGINE. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A FUNNY NOISE AND SMOKING. HE HAD TO STOP ON THE HIGHWAY IN A TURNING LANE AT NIGHT. I AM SO UPSET THAT WE NOW HAVE A NONWORKING VEHICLE THAT WE STILL OWE MONEY ON. I HAVE BEEN READING UP ON THIS AND APPARENTLY THERE ARE MANY 2007 MODELS WITH ENGINE FAILURE. I'M NOT A DETECTIVE BUT SOMETHING IS CRIMINAL ABOUT THIS. WE WORK HARD TO PAY FOR THESE VEHICLES....THEY ARNT A TOY WE PLAY WITH....WE NEED THEM TO GET PLACES SAFELY. IF THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THIS ISSUE....IT MUST BE A MANUFACTURER FLAW. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
OUR 2007 CAMRY CONSTANTLY EATS OIL. WE CHECK IT EVERY 2-3 WEEKS AND IT'S NOT ON THE DIP STICK. I ADD ABOUT AN ADDITIONAL 3 QTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES... THIS IS NOT NORMAL! CAR DOES NOT SMOKE NOR IS IT LEAKING THE OIL.
TOYOTA CAMRY 2007 ENGINE CONSUMES EXCESSIVE OIL. TOYOTA ISSUED A TSB FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE MY CAR IS MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND HAD OVER 150K MILES, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE TSB. THEY ESTIMATE IT WILL COST $5000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS.
THE ENGINE HAS HIGH OIL AND FUEL CONSUMPTION. THE CONSUMPTION OF OIL IS TWO QUARTS A MONTH.

FEDERAL HWY, DELRAY BEACH, FL) WHERE THE ENGINE GASKET WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
I PURCHASED A CAMRY FROM BOB (XXXX) IN 2007. THE CAR STARTED CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL NOT LONG AFTER THE TOYOTA ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN 2014. I DID NOT GET A NOTICE FROM TOYOTA. BOB (XXXX) INFORMED ME OF THE NEED TO RUN THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IN JULY 2015; WHICH WE DID. I WAS TOLD THE TEST "PASSED" EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE CAR WAS BURNING A LOT OF OIL. THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON OVER & OVER AGAIN. I REQUESTED A 2ND TEST IN DEC 2015 AND I WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT THE CAR "PASSED" THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THERE IS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AND TOYOTA IS SAYING IT IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE, THAT HAS EXPIRED AND THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO FIX IT AND PAY FOR IT ALL OUT OF POCKET. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PO171/02 SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT...
WHILE DRIVING, I HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP. AFTER STOPPING QUICK, THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT TURNED ON FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. I CHECKED THE OIL AND FOUND IT TO BE 2.5 QUARTS LOW. MY LAST OIL CHANGE WAS LESS THAN 2500 MILES AGO. EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION IS CAUSING A LOW OIL LIGHT AND POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND UPDATED PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT DUE TO MY VEHICLE BEING OVER 10 YEARS OLD, THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THIS PROBLEM.

HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION
I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY HAD ISSUES WITH MY CARS IGNITION COILS AND VSC SYSTEM. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND VSC SYSTEM LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND EVEN THOUGH I'VE SPENT THOUSANDS OF OD DOLLARS ON REPAIRS THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO POP UP EVEN WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND MULTIPLE REPAIRS. MY CAR MISFIRES AND TURNS OFF RANDOMLY THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BUT I HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. THE CAR MISFIRES IN IDLE,WHILE DRIVING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS AND IT WONT TURN ON SOMETIMES UNTIL I CONNECT JUMPER CABLES TO THE BATTERY. WHEN I CONNECT THE JUMPER CABLES I NEVER NEED AN EXTRA SOURCE OF POWER I SIMPLY CONNECT ONE END OF THE CABLES TO THE BATTERY AND A FEW SECONDS LATER IT ALL THE LIGHTS TURN ON AGAIN AND THE CAR RESTARTS THE WHOLE SYSTEM.

AFTER THE CAR ENGINE ODOMETER HIT 70.000 THE CAR STARTED TO BURN OIL MORE THAN NORMAL. I TOOK THE CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE CAR HAD VERY LITTLE OIL. SINCE THEN I HAD TO ADD 3 QUARTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGE AT 78.000 AND 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGE AT 83.000 MILES.

TOYOTA ADMITS THIS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND STILL NOT ISSUING A RECALL. I HAVE TO ADD OIL REGULARLY BETWEEN OIL CHANGES SO THAT MY CAR DOESN'T GET STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY.

IN 2013, I SUSPECTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OIL CONSUMPTION & ASKED THE MB SERVICE CENTER TO BEGIN INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE. AT THAT TIME, THE WARRANTY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR WAS STILL ACTIVE. I RETURNED AFTER DRIVING 1,000-1,200 MILES & WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER THERE WAS A TRUE ISSUE AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $800 TO OPEN THE ENGINE. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. IN EARLY 2016, I RECEIVED THE T-SB-0158-14 SERVICE BULLETIN FROM TOYOTA NOTIFYING ME THAT I COULD TAKE THE CAR IN TO HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE RESOLVED AT NO COST. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE CULVER CITY LOCATION, BUT I RETURNED 3 HOURS LATER TO FIND THAT NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. A MEMBER OF THE SERVICE TEAM ADVISED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THEY COULD BEGIN THE CONSUMPTION TEST....

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
TOYOTA DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THEIR "WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT" TEST ON MY CAR IN 2016 TO SEE IF IT QUALIFIED FOR THEIR KNOWN OIL CONSUMPTION COVERAGE AND REPAIR. IT DID NOT SEE THEIR CRITERIA. NOW MY CAR IS CONSUMING 1 QUART OF OIL NEARLY EVERY 1000 MILES AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE PROBLEM.
TOYOTA HAS ADMITTED ON 2011 IN ITS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT THE ENGINE DEFECT IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY EXHIBITS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO THE DESIGN DEFECT OF THE 2AZ-FE ENGINE. IT REQUIRES A PISTON ASSEMBLY CHANGE TO MINIMIZE OIL CONSUMPTION HOWEVER THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPAIR IT AT THEIR OWN COST, THIS IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT REPAIR COSTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE DUE TO AN ARBITRARY 150,000 MILE LIMIT AND A VERY LIMITED TIME WINDOW BETWEEN 2015 TO 2016, AFTER I HAD ALREADY SPENT MONEY ON REPAIRS. THIS ALSO DIMINSHES THE VALUE OF MY CAR AND MORE IMPORTANTLY EXPOSES OUR FAMILY TO SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES. AIR COMPRESSOR NO GOOD HAD IT REPLACED AT THE DEALER BUT NOT WORKING, REPLACED ENGINE DUE TO OVER USE OF OIL DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS NORMAL USE
OIL LIGHT WAS FLASHING, SO I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC. HE SAID THE OIL HAD USED 3QTS IN LESS THAN A MONTH (LAST OIL CHANGE) AND THAT THE COOLANT WAS BONE DRY. IT TURNS OUT ITS A HEAD GASKET/ENGINE ISSUE. HE LET ME KNOW HE HAD MULTIPLE 2007 CAMRYS WITH THIS ISSUE, AND THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAS AN OPEN 'CAMPAIGN'? OR RECALL. I HAVE LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP
ON JULY 9, 2018, VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND TO CHECK ON INTERMITTENT ENGINE KNOCKING. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PISTONS AND COST FOR REPAIR WOULD BE $4,400.00. REPAIR WOULD INCLUDE: KITS, CLAMPS, HOSES, PISTONS AND PISTON PINS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND TOYOTA DEALER WHO SUGGESTED EITHER A USED ENGINE OR A REBUILT ONE. ESTIMATED COST WOULD BE BETWEEN $5,000.00 AND $6,000.00
(1) ABS MODULE HAS AN INTERMITTENT SHORT. WHEN IT FAILS THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT ON DASH COME ON, TEMP GAUGE AND TACH FLUCTUATE, AND THE A/C STOPS WORKING. THE SHORT IN MODULE WAS DIAGNOSED BY A TOYOTA DEALER. I UNDERSTAND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS GO BAD BUT FOR IT TO EFFECT THE SPEEDOMETER AND A/C SEEMS LIKE A POOR DESIGN. (2) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY ENGINE OIL LIGHT HAS COME ON. APPARENTLY THERE ARE ISSUES WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN SOME MODEL TOYOTAS WITH PISTON RINGS FLAWS. DEALER HAS DONE OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS BUT UNABLE TO REPRODUCE PROBLEM.
TOYOTA RECALL - THE ENGINE IS BURNING TOO MUCH OIL WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO FAIL AND OIL TO BURN AT AN ACCESSIVE RATE. I HAVE COMPLAINTED OF THIS TO A THE PRIORITY SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I HAVE TO PUT OIL IN THE VEHICLE OFTEN. THERE WAS A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH TOYOTA ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM HOWEVER I WAS NEVER INFORMED EVEN WHEN I CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED OF THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE HAS FALTY PARTS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THESE PARTS
STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH CAR OVERHEATING. REPLACED WATER PUMP BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD THE CODE FOR A MISFIRE. ENDED UP BEING THE HEAD GASKET. THIS CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED. IN RESEARCHING THIS, I HAVE FOUND THAT SEVERAL TOYOTA OWNERS HAVE HAD HEAD GASKET ISSUES AND THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON THE 4RUNNER HEAD GASKET.
ENGINE BURNS ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES.TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SAYS IT'S NORMAL FOR A VEHICLE TO BURN OIL AFTER TIME.
THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL HOWEVER, I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE BURNING OF THE OIL IN THE ENGINE. FOR OVER 2 YEARS, I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE OIL BURNING IN MY CAR AND HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS OF TIMES TO COMPLAINT THAT MY OIL LIGHT WAS ON WITH A FEW WEEKS OF GETTING A OIL CHANGE. I PAID NUMEROUS OF TIMES FOR ADDITIONAL OIL FOR MY CAR AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR. I WAS TOLD THE CAR IS OLDER AND THE MORE MILES ON THE CAR, THE VEHICLE WILL BURN LOTS OF OIL. I HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES FOR OIL CHANGES AND REPAIRS FOR PREVIOUS RECALLS HOWEVER, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE ENGINE OIL BURNING RECALL IN MY VEHICLE. AFTER BEING NOTIFIED BY A RENTAL CAR REPRESENTATIVE AT...
THE ENGINE BURNS 1.5 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. TOYOTA TOLD ME THAT THE TSB EXPIRED AT THE END OF 2016 AND WERE UNWILLING TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS.
MY 07 CAMRY 2.4L CE, HAS AN EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I HAVE TO FILL OIL IN THE ENGINE EVERY 1000-1500 MILES WITH 1-2QT.
CAR HAS BEEN USING 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 500 MILES SINCE 2014
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE 2.4L 4 CYL, CONSUMES OIL AT A STAGGERING RATE. DUE TO THIS INCREASED RATE OF OIL CONSUMPTION, INCREASED MAINTENANCE COSTS INEVITABLY OCCUR. THIS OIL CONSUMPTION OCCURS ANY TIME THE CAR'S ENGINE IS RUNNING, OCCURRING EVEN MORE AT HIGH SPEEDS OF OPERATION. THE CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY LURCH WHEN BEING DRIVEN, CREATING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR IN THE WRONG CONDITIONS. BEFORE DRIVING FOR PROLONGED HIGH SPEEDS, I CHECK THE OIL LEVEL TO ENSURE THERE IS ENOUGH TO PREVENT A SEIZED ENGINE. THE RESULTS OF SUCH A PROBLEM WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC AT HIGH SPEEDS. THESE INCREASED MAINTENANCE COSTS AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL DANGERS CAUSED BY THE INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION OF MY CAR PROVIDE MORE THAN AMPLE JUSTIFICATION FOR AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT.
BURNING 1 QT OF OIL EVERY 600 MILES
MY CAR IS COMSUMING 13/4 QUARTS OF OIL FOR 1200 MILES
MY TOYOTA CAMRY SE 2007 MODEL CONSUMES EXCESSIVE OIL. THE OIL GONE AT 2400 KM AFTER I CHANGED THE OIL. AND THE PAINT RIGHT ABOVE THE DOOR AND ON THE SPOILER START GETTING PEELING OFF.
CAR IS BURNING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000-1200 MILES, TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE STATED IN THE LONG RUN THIS CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO KNOCK AND OR FAIL. I JUST HAD A NEWBORN AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE AND CHILD.

JUST PURCHASE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE FROM STERLING MCCALL TOYOTA A FEW MONTHS AGO AND NOW JUST FINDING OUT THAT THE CAR HAS A OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE WITH NO INDICATION THAT THE ENGINE HAD EVER HAD AND PROBLEMS NOW IT'S A THE ENGINE HAS POSSIBLY BLOWN OUT OR LOCKED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE IT WILL NOT START. I PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE IN FULL IN CASH FROM THE DEALER I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE VEHICLE SALE PRICE AND THE OTHER MINOR REPAIRS THAT I MADE TO THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY CHILDREN IT JUST TURNED OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING HOME DURING THE DAY, ALMOST CAUSED A CAR ACCIDENT.
