TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES ALSO FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,003.

VSC WARNING ON DASH, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, AND GENERAL WARNING (TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION). ACCELERATION SEEMED STIFFER THAN NORMAL, THOUGHT SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. AT DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. HAVE REPORTED NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER ($872.09 TOTAL) AND POSSIBLY THE ENGINE COMPUTER (TRANS. + ENGINE = 2233.35 TOTAL). 2007 CAMRY XLE, APPROX. 64,000 MI. PURCHASED 10/18/2006. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST THREE RECALLS FOR THE 2007 CAMRY LINE. SHOULD THESE REPAIRS BE COVERED BY TOYOTA? MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IS DANGEROUS AND DEFECTIVE. I HAVE BEING SAYING SINCE MY FIRST MAINTENANCE CHECK AT THE DEALER THAT THE CAR DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING THE WAY IT SHOULD. NOW IT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A "STICKY PEDAL". THE PROBLEMS I HAVE ARE NOT A STICKY PEDAL PROBLEM. THE CAR LURCHES AT TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING. IT LURCHES FORWARD FROM STOPS. I HAVE ALREADY HIT A CURB BECAUSE OF IT JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. I HAVE VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE ROAD AND THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR FROM HITTING THE CURB. I CAN EMAIL YOU THE VIDEO FOOTAGE. THE CAR ALSO SEEMS TO DRIFT MOMENTARILY AS IF THERE IS A STEERING SYNCHRONIZATION LAPSE DEFECT. ON FEB 10, 2010 MY 07 TOYOTA CAMRY ACCEL PEDAL STUCK ON ME, 5 DAYS AFTER THE RECALL WAS DONE ON IT. IT REVVED FROM 2000-4000 RPMS, I HAD TO BRAKE HARD FOR IT TO STOP AND REGAIN CONTROL. TOOK IT INTO TOYOTA, THEY LOOKED AT IT, RETURNED THE CAR AND TOLD ME "NOTHING WAS WRONG." ON MARCH 4, 2010 IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME IT ACCELERATED FROM 20 MPH TO 40 MPH IN A SPLIT SECOND, AND I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AGAIN I HAD BRAKE HARD TO GAIN CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. TOYOTA AGAIN LOOKED OVER MY CAR, AND AGAIN CAME UP WITH NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. SO THAT IS TWO TIMES AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED THAT MY HAS ACCELERATED.
