2007 TOYOTA CAMRY Service Brakes Problems

When I purchased this vehicle there were no problems, no lights on my dash, the trim all matched and was the color blue. Then after having a falling out with some family members I started noticing problems with my HVAC system. It started with antifreeze leaks then id fix it and the next week the radiator hose would be leaking again. I started really keeping track of everything about my car after that. Next I started noticing parts changed and parts missing. My VSC fuse block in the engine bay is completely missing now. Contacted TMC and was told a recall WAS performed on my car in 2010 for excessive acceleration. However, after further investigation, I learned there was not ONE but TWO different recalls for SIMILAR circumstances(acceleration) and was not informed whether BOTH were completed. I have had vehicle for approx. 5 years and have intermittently experienced the SAME problem. The last few weeks, it has happened more frequently and is becoming dangerous to drive! Also, I was told, since the ONE recall was completed, TMC declined to address the recent problem. Is there a possibility the FIRST recall was not COMPLETELY SUFFICIENT for both. I hope I can get an answer, as I have run out of options. I don't believe I should have to PAY for something that was supposedly FIXED even 10 years ago! I would, again appreciate any help. ABS and VSC lights on the dash have been flashing on and off for the last few years. They always went off after flashing. 2 weeks ago they both flashed on and the warning message "Check VSC System" came on with a loud buzzing whine. Now they will not go off. The brake pedal pulses back when applied and felt very hard. It took the car a long time to stop which is a safety danger. ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INCLUDING: BRAKE LIGHT, CHECK VCS SYSTEM, ABS, ALL OF THE EXCLAMATION LIGHTS, ETC.. Hi, In my car VSC light is always on, I got it scan as well but it doesn't show any code for VSC and ABS systems. Toyota dealership also don't give any information about the codes. It's kind of very dangerous to drive with all the lights on the cluster. Thank You

I was driving my car when suddenly the speedometer started going from 0-60 back and forth, the rpms was all over the place, the brake light came on and stayed on and the lights was going from bright to dim, there was a couple more lights aluminized on my dash. After googling the problem that nearly caused me and my children to crash, there is so many people affected by this same problem in the 2007 toyota camry. Why hasn't this been recalled or class auctioned. Also my dash board is sticky like tar.

Error code C1391 Multiple warning lights like VSC, brakes, check engine, hybrid system failure. Vehicle has been repaired at Dublin Toyota dealership under recall several years ago and the vehicle has failed again with the same fault.

The ABS brake actuator, part 44510-30270, initially failed in January of 2021 while traveling on the highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The VSC (vehicle stability control system) message appeared accompanied by multiple warning lights, followed by severely limited braking ability which endangered my family during high speed traffic on the 5 freeway. I purchased a used actuator on eBay immediately, it lasted not quite 2 years (it's 2023), it has now failed. I recently purchased a new used actuator pump again, and it has failed immediately. There is obviously a design flaw with this part, yet YOU (NHTSA) and Toyota refuse to address it properly. There is no reason why this device has not been recalled other than negligence. You need to reopen this case, and force Toyota to recall this part before someone is injured or worse!

I was driving on a residential street and my brake pedal got stiff and then got soft and I couldn't stop. I pushed the pedal hard and almost hit the car in front of me and then I felt a hard clack and it felt like I was hit or like I hit something. A loud high pitched beep continuously sounded until I turned off the car. All of my dashboard lights came on. And a continuous winding sound is coming from the abs pump.

ABS Brake Actuator failed, this malfunction came out of nowhere, making me unable to stop my car and putting my life at risk. I have not seen any official recall on this from Toyota, but I’ve seen many people have this same specific issues on Toyota forums. Dash cluster showed brake light and BAS light on, tachometer and speedometer dropped to zero while going approx. 40 MPH.

On the dashboard there is “check VSC system” and then the ABS and brake symbols. Took it at the Toyota dealer for a diagnostic and said brake actuator needed to be replaced.

My abs pump failed causing my brakes to lock up and totaled my car

My brake pedal when depressed, when stopped, makes a loud noise. My car cycles a buzzing sound often, even when the brakes are not depressed. My warning lights : check VSC system, ABS , warning triangle, a circle with and exclamation point and brake, all are continuing to light up on my dash. I took it to the dealer. Code C1391 (ABS ACRTUATOR INTERNAL FAILURE). This is serious and can cause my brakes and steering control to fail. The manufacturer warranty has expired.

My car has a mileage of about 178K and just recently got a "Check VSC System" which apparently affects brakes and also manages stability in case of hazardous road conditions. Across the internet, people also have reported the same issue and in some cases, people have had brakes locking up once this warning came up. Per a recall from Toyota, this is being fixed by the manufacturer only within a certain date and mileage and I dont fall into either of these criteria. The part itself is very expensive to afford right now...would be appreciative if the manufacturer can provide a way to fix this for a nominal cost or for free. I had a rollover accident in my Camry on 5/13/2021. My brakes locked up which sent me into a spin and then eventually flipping over an embankment. Only one of my airbags deployed and it was the passenger door airbag. The rest of the airbags did not go off. Yes the vehicle is still available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because of the brake malfunction and subsequently because of the airbags not deploying in the manner they are aupoosed to. I rolled the vehicle I'm sure the manner in which h I wrecked would have caused all airbags to deploy. No I never seen a brake or a airbag light on my dashboard. No one else has inspected the vehicle components other than an insurance claims rep to determine my vehicle is a total loss. I'm unsure on who I could have look at it without compromising...

HAD ACTUATOR ON 2007 CAMRY HYBRID REPLACED AT 82,000 MILES AGAIN AT 127,000 MILES AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AT 154,000 MILES AND TOYOTA WILL NOT ASSIST WITH THE $1600.00 THE DEALER WANTS TO REPLACED THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART FROM THE FACTORY.

WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH CAME TO A RED LIGHT. SUDDENLY THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY SOFT AND DIFFICULT- STOPPING ABILITY WITH GREAT PRESSURE APPLIED AND LONG DISTANCE TO STOP- BUT ABLE TO STOP. BRAKE ACULATOR MALFUNCTION DRIVING ON HIGHWAY BRAKE WOULDN'T STOP

AT LESS THAN 80,000 MILES THE ABS SYSTEM FAILED. WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT. WE REPLACED THE UNIT, BUT LAST WEEK THE VSC WARNING LIT UP AGAIN. THE ABS SYSTEM HAS FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE NOW WAS 122,226 MILES.

CAR HAD VSC SYSTEM REPLACED DUE TO RECALL A FEW YEARS AGO. HAVING ISSUES AGAIN WITH VSC SYSTEM LIGHT COMING ON, ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO THE MODEL YEAR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

3 DIFFERENT CONCERNS ISSUE #1: WHILE IN MOTION THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT COME ON, SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 0, OTHER GAUGES GO CRAZY. HAPPENS OFF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, THEY SAID IT IS THE ABS MODULE GOING OUT, TO FIX IT WITH A BRAND NEW PART WOULD BE $1800. NOT ONLY IS IT DANGEROUS TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE MY SPEED, ITS A POSSIBILITY MY ABS WOULDN'T KICK IN IF NEEDED. REGULAR BRAKES WORK FINE.

THE BREAK ACTION RESPONSE WAS DIMINISHED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO TOYOTA, AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY, BUT OURS IS BEYOND THE NEW EXTENSION WINDOW. COST TO REPAIR IS $1,600

I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 25MPH ON MONTGOMERY DRIVE IN PHILADELPHIA (CITY STREET) IN THE MORNING OF 12/9/2019. IT WAS RAINING LIGHTLY. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS ABOUT 4 TO 5 CAR-LENGTHS AHEAD. IT BRAKED AS ANOTHER CAR TRIED TO CUT IN, AND I ALSO IMMEDIATELY BRAKED. MY BRAKE FELT GRINDING AND MY CAR CONTINUED TO SLIDE INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME.

DRIVING ON STREET APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WHERE I WAS TURNING LEFT AND HAD A GREEN LIGHT WHEN THE ABS/ESC LIGHTS ON THE DASH TURNED ON AND BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. THIS CAUSED ME TO ROLL THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HAD TO STOP BY ROLLING INTO CURB. FOUND THE BRAKES DO WORK SOMEWHAT NOW BUT ARE DANGEROUSLY WEAK.

BRAKES SUDDENLY LOCK UP WHEN BACKING UP. CODE COMES UP ABNORMAL, ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR.

WHEN OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES GET COLD, MY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN I GET A CHECK VSC SYSTEM AND MY ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHTS COME ON, MORE OVER MY BRAKES ARE LESS RESPONSIVE (GO SOFT).

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
