I BROUGHT MY CAR IN 2015 AND WHEN I TOLD THE PERSON AT MECHANICSVILLE TOYOTA THAT MY BRAKES WERE MAKING A NOISE THEY INFORMED ME TO BRING TO THE SHOP. WHEN I DID THE MECHANIC'S STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. AND FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS THEY HAVE TOLD ME NOTHING WRONG AND NOW EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THAT IS WRONG. ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I SPOKE TO AM ANGER THE SAME THINS I STATED WAS WRONG WITH IT IS NOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE ABS ACUATOR...

EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE
THE ENGINE OIL HAS BURNED UP. HAVE ALMOST NO OIL LEFT AFTER GETTING OIL CHANGE LESS THAN 3000 MILES AGO. THE IS NO OIL LEAKAGE ON DRIVEWAY WHERE CAR IS PARKED. OIL FILTER IS ON TIGHT AND OIL CAP IS ON. MY WIFE SAID SHE WAS GETTING A WARNING LIGHT OF SOME KIND THAT DAY SO I CHECKED THE OIL WHEN SHE TOLD ME. I TOOK MY CAR, BOUGHT AND ADDED 4 QTS OF HIGH MILEAGE OIL AND ZMAX TREATMENT TO MINIMIZE ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE.
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL USE. OIL BLOWS OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. THE BUILDUP FOR OIL RESIDUE AT THE TAIL PIPE MAKES ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A FIRE. WENT THROUGH THE LOCAL DEALER WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM OR OIL USE. HAD THE LOCAL MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE FOUND EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NOW HERE WE ARE WITH A DEFECTIVE ENGINE AND A COMPLETE LACK OF TRUST IN THE CAR EITHER MECHANICALLY OR FOR SAFETY. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2007TOYOTA CAMRY DECEMBER 2016 AND EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT, IT HAS BEEN CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. IT WOULD BURN MY FULL TANK OF OIL AT AROUND 1K-1.2K MILES AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. I,'M AFRAID THAT THIS MUCH OIL CONSUMPTION WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO WRECKING THE MOTOR AND PROBABLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. TOYOTA HAD A WARRANTY FOR THIS TYPE OF ISSUE BUT IT EXPIRED LAST YEAR. AND I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THIS UNTIL JUST RECENTLY SEARCHING FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IN WHICH I WAS NOT AWARE OF IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THIS WOULD BE A RECALL.

CAR GOES THROUGH OVER A QUART OF OIL EVERY THOUSAND MILES. TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT PROBLEM SINCE 2011 BUT WILL NOT HONOR BECAUSE THE CAR IS JUST OVER 10 YEARS OLD AND HAS 150,010 MILES ON IT. (WARRANTY IS 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES) NEVER WAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE. CONTACTED TOYOTA. WOULD NOT HONOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST OIL AFTER TWO OR THREE DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR DETACHED AND LEAKED WATER, AND THE OIL RING FAILED. BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 187,671.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
WE OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT REGULARLY SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FROM. AROUND 145,000 MILES, IT STARTED BURNING OIL RAPIDLY, AROUND 1 QUART EVERY 1,500 MILES. I STARTED RESEARCHING AND FOUND THAT TOYOTA IS AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT, UNLESS THE ISSUE HAPPENS WITHIN 100,000 MILES, WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. THIS NEEDS TO BE REMEDIED AS THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE.

VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TOYOTA FACTORY "EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST", AND SHOWING LOW OIL ON DIPSTICK. ON LINE RESEARCH HAS INDICATED MANY OWNERS LEARNING EITHER THEIR DEALER OR TOYOTA, OR BOTH ARE HESITANT OR REFUSING TO PERFORM CORRECTIVE ACTION AT NO COST TO THE CURRENT OWNER. ON LINE RECOMMENDATION IS THAT THIS COMPLAINT SHOULD BE FILED WITH YOUR AGENCY ALONG WITH TWO OTHER ENTITIES INVOLVED IN MONITORING TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY AND TOYOTA DEALER RESPONSE AND REMEDIAL ACTION.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED A FEW YEARS AGO. IT HAS HAD A HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION THE ENTIRE TIME. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING AND COSTLY PUTTING OIL IN THE CAR WEEKLY. AS A SINGLE PARENT, I DIDN'T TAKE THE CAR TO BE FIXED BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL REASONS. I'M JUST FINDING OUT ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THE TIME HAS PASSED FOR ME TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WARRANTY. TOYOTA KNOWING ABOUT THE ISSUE MAKES IT EVEN WORSE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL INSTEAD OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS CONSIDERING BUYING A NEW TOYOTA UNTIL I READ THIS. THIS MAKES ME DISTRUST TOYOTA BECAUSE OF THE UNDERHANDED WAY THEY'RE TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS ABOUT AN ISSUE THEY KNEW ABOUT.
OIL CONSUMPTION IS REALLY BAD. 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 200-300 MILES. NO VISIBLE OIL LEAKS UNDER CAR.
THE CAR USING 1QT OF OIL EVERY 300 MILES , TOYOTA RAN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST , TOLD ME NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR , THE CAR STILL USING THE SAME AMOUNT OF OIL .
AFTER TOYOTA COMPLETING AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST THEY INFORMED US THEY ADD 1 QT OF OIL AND THEN MEASURE HOW LOW IT WAS AFTER THE ADDED OIL IN THE 1200 MILE TEST AND CONCLUDED THE 1/2QT LOW WAS NOT ENOUGH TO WARRANT REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE, KNOWING THEY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE PISTON RINGS IT WAS ACTUALLY 1 1/2 QT LOW IN TOTAL AND THEY WONT FIX THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT COULD COST US IN THE AREA OF 3-4,000$
I DISCOVERED THAT TOYOTA HAS HAD ISSUES WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN CERTAIN MODEL YEARS. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE WHICH WAS LISTED AS ONE OF THE VEHICLES. THIS IS MY 4TH TOYOTA OF WHICH I HAVE PUT ON OVER 1 MILLION MILES BETWEEN THESE VEHICLES. NOW WITH THIS 2007 WHICH NOW HAS 211,000 MI. I FIND I AM HAVING TO ADD OIL EVERY 1000 MI. OR THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON. I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3000 MI. TOYOTA TOLD ME NOTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS GIVEN EXPIRED IN OCT. 2016. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY, 2015 WITH 146,000 MI. ON IT. I UNDERSTAND THAT A LETTER WAS SENT OUT IN MAY, 2015 REGARDING THIS MATTER. THAT APPARENTLY WENT TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER OR THE DEALERSHIP. NOW AFTER 4 TOYOTAS....1 MILLION MILES....THEY SAY NOTHING CAN BE DONE! I DON'T AGREE.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH 155,000 MILES THAT EXCESSIVELY BURN OIL AT THE RATE OF 1 QUART PER 1000 MILES
I HAVE GONE ABOUT 2,000 MILES OF THE 5,000 MILES AN OIL CHANGE SHOULD LAST IN MY CAMRY. I CHECKED THE OIL BECAUSE WHEN DRIVING AND BRAKING HARD THE OIL LIGHT APPEARED BRIEFLY. I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT APPEARED TO BE ALMOST EMPTY, I PUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL AND IT ONLY BROUGHT THE TOTAL LEVEL JUST ABOVE THE LOW LEVEL LINE ON THE DIPSTICK. THIS TELLS ME I COULD STAND TO BUY ANOTHER QUART AND PUT AT LEAST ANOTHER HALF QUART. I'VE KEPT UP WITH ALL OF THE MAINTENANCE WITH THIS CAR, HAVING JUST INSTALLED A NEW OIL PAN GASKET RECENTLY.

ISSUE JUST STARTED SHOWING ITSELF THIS PAST FALL AND ONCE I LEARNED OF THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, TOYOTA SAID IT WAS PAST THEIR 10/31/16 DATE AND THE FACT THAT THE CARE WAS PAST THE 10 YEAR PIS DATE (BY 4 DAYS). THEY NOW SAY THIS IS A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HERE WITH THIS MANY PROBLEMS FOR MANY, MANY CAMRY OWNERS AND NO TYPE OF RECALL WAS EVER ISSUED. VERY FRUSTRATING AND VERY DISAPPOINTING IN TOYOTA. HAVE HAD NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS CAR OR WITH TOYOTA IN MY 10 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. WILL NOW NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER TOYOTA AGAIN.

THE VALVE COVER GASKET LEAKS AUSPICIOUSLY WITHOUT KNOWING YOU ARE LOSING OIL BECAUSE THERE IS NO LEAK BELOW THE CAR. ON THREE OCCASIONS I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENGINE BURNING UP WITHOUT NOTICE.

THEY OF COURSE SAID YES AND WE KEPT NOTICING IT BURNING QUITE A BIT OF OIL. I TOOK IT TO A MY MECHANIC AND HE IMMEDIATELY KNEW TOYOTA HAD A RECALL ON THIS MODEL BURNING OIL AND ADVISED US TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CONDUCT THEIR TEST. WE DID THE TEST WHICH WAS DRIVE IT 1200 MILES AND BRING IT BACK AND OF COURSE THEY SAID IT ONLY BURNT A LITTLE OVER A HALF OF A QUART. I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OIL IN THIS CAR MOST OF THE SUMMER SOMETIMES...

IN ADDITION, SMOKE APPEARED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
MY CAMRY IS HAVING EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION! I JUST WENT 2000 MILES AND I AM OUT OF OIL. TOYOTA IS SAYING MY YEAR AND MAKE SHOULD BE BURNING 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000-1200 MILES AND THAT IS NORMAL. HAVE THEY LOST THERE MINDS!!! THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!! WE CHANGED THE OIL AND DISCOVERED IT WAS USING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL IN A SHORT TIME PERIOD. DRIVER WAS NOT AWARE OIL WAS BEING CONSUMED AT SUCH A HIGH RATE. DRIVER ONLY DISCOVERED ISSUE AFTER RECENTLY CHANGING OIL AND CHECKING IT. THE ONLY REASON WE CHECKED THE OIL IS BECAUSE WE HEARD KNOCKING SOUNDS FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN WE CHECKED THE DIP STICK IT HAD NO OIL.
SO AFTER LOVING MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY FOR MANY GOOD YEARS, MY HEARTACHE STARTED WHEN IT BEGAN USING OIL TO THE TUNE OF VISIBLE LOSS ON DIPSTICK AT 800 MILES. I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND LITTLE OR NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK SO I STARTED WATCHING IT CLOSELY. I CONFIRMED THAT MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY CAR BURNS A BIT MORE THAN 2 QUARTS EVERY 800-1000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER MENTIONED THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, BUT THE CONTACT EXCEEDED THE EXPIRATION DATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.
I HAVE JUST PURCHASED THE CAR ONE MONTH AGO AS A PREOWNED ONE. AFTER ABOUT 15 DAYS THE OIL LID TURNED ON WHILE I WAS MOVING TO MY SCHOOL. I FILLED IN THE CAR WITH AN ORIGINAL OIL. I CHECKED THE OIL STICK AFTER I LEFT THE CAR FOR 4 HOURS AND IT WAS AT THE MAX LEVEL. TWO WEEKS LATER, I CHECKED AGAIN THE OIL IN THE CAR USING THE OIL STICK AND IT WAS BELOW MIN TICK. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE VALVE GASKET COVER BUT THE SAME ISSUE STILL THERE. BY THE WAY, THE CAR DOESN'T SHOW ANY BLACK OR BLUE SMOKE IN THE EXHAUST AND THERE IS NO SIGN OF OIL LEAK ON THE ENGINE OUTSIDE BODY. THE CAR IS NO LONGER ON WARRANTY. I AM FRUSTERATED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!.
TOYOTA WILL NOT HONOR RECALL OF BAD RINGS. HAVE WASTED MANY WORK DAYS AT DEALER SHIP. HAVE GOTTEN PROOF THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM THEY REFUSE TO HONOR EXTENSION. BURNS 2 AND A 1/4 QUARTS OF OIL IN 1100 MILES!
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION BETWEEN OIL CHANGES.
NEW WATER PUMP INSTALLED AT TIME OF PURCHASE IN 2013 AT 89K MILES. ENGINE CURRENTLY AT 151K MILES AS OF 10/2016 AND WATER PUMP NEEDS REPLACING AGAIN. ESTIMATED ~$1200+ FOR 15HRS LABOR AND PARTS.
TOYOTA HAS A RECALL ON A NUMBER OF VEHICLES BECAUSE OF A PISTON RING DESIGN FLAW. LAST YEAR THEY TESTED MY 2007 CAMRY AND SAID IT WAS OK. ACTUALLY, IT BURNED 1 QUART OF OIL (I JUST FOUND OUT FROM CUSTOMER CARE) BUT TOYOTA SAYS IT MUST BURN 1.5 QUARTS OF OIL TO QUALIFY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS OK. MY OIL LIGHT WENT ON LESS THAN 2000 MILES IN TO MY LAST OIL CHANGE. THE CAR WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL! THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IT DEFINITELY HAS THE DESIGN FLAW--BUT THEY HAVE TO RUN ANOTHER TEST TO VERIFY WHAT I HAVE TOLD THEM. NOW HERE IS THE ZINGER---I HAVE ONE WEEK TO DRIVE 1100 MILES. THAT IS BECAUSE TOYOTA HAS SAID THIS RECALL ENDS THEN. SOMEHOW I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAW, THEIR INABILITY TO DIAGNOSE MY VEHICLE THE FIRST TIME, AND THEIR...
AFTER 1200 MILES, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO TOYOTA FOR SECOND PART OF THEIR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, AND WAS TOLD IT DIDN'T USE ANY OIL. AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR UP FROM MY TRUSTED MECHANIC (WHO SAID 2/3 OF TOYOTA'S RECOMMENDED REPAIRS TOTALING OVER $1600 WERE NOT TRUE), I WAS TOLD HE HAD TO ADD OIL B/C IT WAS LOW. THIS IS YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF TOYOTA LYING TO CUSTOMERS SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO INCUR COSTS OR ISSUE A VALID RECALL. THEY CLAIM BURNING OIL IS "NORMAL", AND ONLY IF THEIR "TEST" PROVES SO, THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PISTON RINGS - THEY ARE LYING ABOUT THESE TEST RESULTS TO AVOID HAVING TO DO THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY BOUGHT USED WITH 62,500 MILES ON OCTOBER 4, 2016. ON OCTOBER 8TH I WAS EXITING OFF THE HIGHWAY SLOWLY EASING OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO DECREASE MY SPEED AND MY CAR SHUTS DOWN!!!! STOPS RUNNING !!! I LOST THE POWER STEERING OF COURSE. DID AT LEAST TWO AND A HALF 360'S UNTIL I CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 LANE ROAD. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I KEPT IT FROM LEAVING THE ROAD. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT END. THEIR THOUGHTS ARE IT SHUT OFF AND TO GO BUY FUEL INJECTOR THE NEXT TIME I GET GAS. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED WITH THIS HAPPENING. NOW I'M SO PARANOID ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE.
THE ENGINE IS EATING ABOUT 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 2500 MILES. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 145,000 MILES. CAR WAS CHECKED BY 2 MECHANICS AND NO OIL LEAK WAS DETECTED.
