MY CAR IS EXCESSIVELY BURNING OIL. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. I HAVE MY OIL CHANGE EVERY 3,00 TO 5,000 MILES AT THE TOYOTA DEALER. MY OIL LEVEL WOULD GO LOW BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. MY HUSBAND WOULD CONSTANTLY CHECK AND ADD OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. MY HUSBAND ASKED ME TO ASK THE TOYOTA DEALER TO CHECK TO SEE IF I HAD AN OIL LEAK. THE DEALER TOLD ME I DID NOT HAVE AN OIL LEAK AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY MY OIL LEVEL WAS GOING LOW BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. AFTER MY HUSBAND DID SOME RESEARCH, HE FOUND OUT THE 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR ENGINES EXCESSIVELY BURNING OIL. TOYOTA AND THE DEALER KNEW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THAT TYPE OF ENGINE BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY AND THEY DID NOT TELL ME! WHO IS GOING TO FIX THIS, IT'S NOT MY FAULT?!
THE VEHICLE IS BURNING 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. THERE IS SOME SMOKING COMING FROM THE TAILPIPE AS WELL. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT.
TOYOTA HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION -MY 2007 CAMRY HAS 53K MILES AND HAS STARTED USING APPROXIMATELY 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1K MILES. THIS IS EXCESSIVE. I WOULD LIKE TOYOTA TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
WAS DOING A 3000 MILE OIL CHANGE 3/29/2018 AND ONLY 1.5 QUARTS CAME OUT. CALLED THE DEALER WHO SAID ITS OUT OF WARRANTY, CANT DO ANYTHING FOR US. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED FROM THEM MAY 2017, THEY DIDN'T TELL US ABOUT THE TSB. ALL OIL CHANGES HAVE BEEN NORMAL UNTIL LAST WEEK. CROOKS!
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS BEEN BLOWING BLUE SMOKE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK IN 2014, WHICH I PURCHASED THROUGH A DEALERSHIP. AFTER ANYTIME I START MY CAR AFTER SITTING FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS IT WILL BLOW BLUE SMOKE EACH TIME. I GET MY OIL CHANGED WAY MORE OFTEN THEN I SHOULD TO TRY AND PREVENT THE SMOKE, I CHECK MY OIL ONCE A WEEK, AND NO MATTER WHAT I DO IT CONTINUES TO BLOW BLUE SMOKE.
MY VEHICLE DOES NOT BURN ENOUGH OIL. I HAVE ZERO OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. TOYOTA IS A GREAT COMPANY. EMPLOYEES SHOULD GET A RAISE TODAY.
THIS CAMRY BURNS 1 QUART OF OIL ALMOST WEEKLY AND IS ALWAYS NEEDING TOYOTA'S SUGGESTED 5W 20 ADDED. IF THIS CAR WERE NOT CHECKED WEEKLY IT WOULD BURN UP. TOYOTA HAS BEEN CONTACTED BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.HAS BEEN BEEN GOING ON SINCE 90000 MILES.
THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY. IT IS LOSING ABOUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1500 MILES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1802121645. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000. *TT *AS
THIS CAR IS BURNING THROUGH OIL IN BETWEEN CHANGES. THE ABS SYSTEM HAS ALSO FAILED. NO MAJOR PROBLEMS, JUST ANNOYING.
LAW OIL AFTER 1200 MILES
IN OCT2017. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE DO TO AN OIL BELL TELLING ME OIL WAS LOW. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO OIL IN THERE AT ALL..AND COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAK. THEY TELL ME IT IS THE PISTONS AND OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO ADD 2 QUARTS OF OIL A WEEK OF MY OWN. I NEVER GOT A LETTER FROM TOYOTA STATING A PROBLEM OR HOW TO FIX IT..I WANT IT FIXED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE EXTENDED REPAIR DEADLINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 1706022014. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I HAVE BEEN ADDING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 700 TO 1,000 MILES, SENSE MAY BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY
I AM FILING COMPLAINT ON 2007 CAMRY BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. FROM RESEARCH ON ISSUE, I UNDERSTAND THAT SAFETY ISSUES CAN OCCUR DUE TO THE ENGINES SIEZING UP AND THE CAR CAN QUIT RUNNING WHILE I'M DRIVING. NOT SURE ABOUT ENGINE CATCHING FIRE. I HAVE PERSUED DIFFERENT AVENUES WITH TOYOTA TO CORRECT ISSUE SINCE THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM FACTORY ENGINEERING. BUT TO NO AVAIL. THIS WAS ALREADY AN ISSUE AT TIME I PURCHASED VEHICLE WITH 64,190 MILES. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT INFORMED OF ANY TSB NOR RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATIONS OF PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD CAR SERVICED APPROXIMATELY EVERY 3,000 MILES WITH MOTORCRAFT OIL. IT WAS NOT UNTIL 8-25-17 WHEN I WAS ASKED TO SIGN A DISCLAIMER LETTING ME KNOW OIL WAS OFF DIPSTICK. WHEN I CHECKED PREVIOUS RECORDS I FOUND OUT THE CAMRY HAD BEEN LOW ON OIL ( OFF STICK) EACH TIME SERVICED. (MY 1997 CAMRY I OWNED...
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE WHERE THE OIL IS LEAKING AND BURNING IN THE ENGINE, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE INITIAL NOTIFICATIONS. WHEN I CALLED TOYOTA OF GASTONIA, THEY ADVISED ME THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED DUE TO THE SECOND CLAUSE OF 10 YEARS OF FIRST USE. I WAS STILL WELL WITH IN THE TIME FRAME, BUT I WAS NOT TOLD THAT WAS AN OPTION. AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT.

I HAD THE CAR CHECKED AT TOYOTA DEALERSHIP (DUBLIN TOYOTA IN DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA IN JULY 2017) AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR 'S ENGINE COULD BE DEFECTIVE SINCE A TOYOTA BULLETIN FOR DEFECTIVE ENGINE REPAIR HAD BEEN RELEASED FOR THAT MODEL. I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS (GLADSTONE TOYOTA IN PORTLAND, OREGON) SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THAT FOR OTHER RECALL NOTICES SUCH AS THE ACCELERATOR GETTING STUCK ETC. BUT NO ONE HAD INFORMED ME OF THIS BULLETIN OR DEFECT. I'VE ALSO RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM TOYOTA FOR OTHER REPAIRS FOR WHICH I PROMPTLY TOOK MY CAR TO THEIR DEALERSHIPS. BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY POLICY BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM VIA MAIL OR...
OIL CONSUMPTION
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE THAT MY TOYOTA HAD THIS PROBLEM UNTIL I REACHED 100,000 WHICH JUST HAPPENED RECENTLY. ACCORDING TO TOYOTA, MY OPTION FOR COVERAGE ENDED 8/2016. I'M BEING PUNISHED FOR HAVING CONSERVATIVE MILES. CRIMINAL AND DECEIPTFUL.

THE ENGINE BURNS THROUGH THE OIL IN ABOUT 2500 MILES. I HAVE TO CARRY AROUND EXTRA OIL TO REFILL IT AT A MOMENTS NOTICE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE ENGINE FREEZING UP AS I AM DRIVING.
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION: MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IS CONSUMING 1 QUART OF ENGINE OIL EVERY 1,200 MILES BASED ON A LATENT DESIGN DEFECT IN THE ENGINE PISTONS AND PISTON RINGS. TOYOTA ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND SET THE OIL CONSUMPTION LEVELS AT A RIDICULOUS LEVEL (1.2 QUARTS PER 1,200 MILES) AND THEY CONTINUE TO REJECT MY REQUEST TO PAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY THIS IS NORMAL. FUNNY NONE OF MY OTHER 5 TOYOTA'S HAVE EVER DONE THIS!! I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND HAS A SIGNIFICANT MONETARY COST TO FIX THE ISSUE. TOYOTA KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND WOULDN'T PAY TO FIX THE ISSUE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION - NOT SAFE MY FAMILY IS EXTREMELY LOYAL TO THE TOYOTA BRAND AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR ISSUES WITH AN OF OUR VEHICLES IN THE PAST. I NOTICED THAT MY 2007 CAMRY SE 2.4L V4 HAD BEEN BURNING OIL EXTREMELY FAST A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO.AT FIRST, A MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY VALVE COVER GASKET AS THAT WAS WHAT HE PRESUMED TO BE THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. AFTER I PAID TO GET THAT REPLACED I NOTICED THAT MY ENGINE WAS STILL BURNING OIL AT AN EXTREMELY FAST RATE. I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE MY PCV VALVE AND SWITCH TO A SYNTHETIC-BLEND. NOTHING AT ALL HAS HELPED WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. IT IS DRAINING MY POCKETS AND TIME. MULTIPLE MECHANICS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DRAINING AND...

VEHICLE CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL/BURNING OIL. IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. OIL HAS TO BE MONITORED CLOSED SO AT TO NOT BLOW MY ENGINE. CANNOT FIND A RECALL AND NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO ME. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ON LINE SAW SEVERAL COMPLAINTS BUT NOT RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED AND DENIED ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT BEING LOCATED IN USA. THE CONSUMER IS IN THE UNITED STATES MILITARY STATIONED IN GERMANY. THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER SO THEY COULD READ WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT...
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW. FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS I'VE EXPERIENCED MORE THAT AVERAGE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR REGARDING THIS. THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR QUALIFIED FOR THE RECALL ON EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I INFORMED THEM THAT THIS WOULD BE THE SECOND TIME I WAS REQUESTING THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST FOR MY VEHICLE. SURPRISINGLY THE RESULTS CAME OUT THE SAME WAY, THAT MY CAR PASSED THE TEST. AS OF RECENT, THE SITUATION HAS BECOME WORSE. I'M SUPPOSED TO TURN IN MY CAR AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL...
TOYOTA ISSUED TSB FOR "EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION". I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEIR 'TEST' (I.E., MORE THAN 1 QT OF OIL IN 1,200 MILES) AND JUST BARELY "PASSED". BUT THE PROBLEM GROWS WORSE OVER TIME AND NOW BURNS OIL EXTREMELY QUICKLY. BUT TOYOTA TOLD ME TODAY THAT SINCE THE CARE IS NOW MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD, THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO FOR ME. THE CONTACT WAS INSTRUCTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR 2,000-3,000 MILES BEFORE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST COULD BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE FAILED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN, PISTON, AND RINGS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SAME DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE ON BACKORDER; HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE TIMING CHAIN. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO MAKE A KNOCKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING BELT FAILED...
RECENTLY PURCHASED CAR WIT 85,000 MILES NOT AT 92,000 WE REALIZE IT IS USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 300 TO 500 MILES. THIS IS UNREALISTIC AND HAVE HEARD OF NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND ACTIONS THAT I WAS UNAWARE OF BY TOYOTA

BOUGHT CAR USED A YEAR AGO. HAD OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DONE AT 74,000 MILES WITHIN TIME FRAME ALLOWED. WAS TOLD ENGINE WAS GOOD. NOW, AT 80,000 MILES OIL IS AT BOTTOM TIP OF OIL DIP STICK. I CALLED DEALER WHERE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS DONE. WAS TOLD "WE ONLY ADDED A QUART..." AT TEST'S CONCLUSION. I WAS NOT TOLD AT THE TIME OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST'S CONCLUSION THAT A "QUART WAS ADDED." SINCE I WAS NOT TOLD A QUART WAS ADDED, I WASN'T AWARE I HAD TO WATCH MY OIL. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, OIL LIGHT FLASHED BRIEFLY BUT I COULDN'T MAKE-OUT WHAT IT WAS. FOLLOWING DAY, UPON STARTING VEHICLE, IT FLASHED AGAIN. ANOTHER DAY AND IT STAYS ON VERY BRIEFLY BUT LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO FIGURE THAT IT WAS THE OIL LIGHT. I LET CAR SIT ON FLAT SURFACE FOR AN HOUR, CHECKED OIL AND IT JUST...
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND THE CAR BURNS OIL FAST
MY CAR LOSES OIL AT THE RATE OF A QUART AND A HALF EVERY 500 MILES OR SO. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR AN OBVIOUS LEAK AT THE TOP OF THE ENGINE, BUT CONTINUES TO LOSE OIL AT THIS RATE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THREE MECHANICS NOW THAT THIS IS COMMON IN CAMRYS. IF IT IS SO COMMON, IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY TOYOTA.
HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING. LAST OIL CHANGE, THE TECH STATED CHECK OIL REGUARLY (EVERY 2 WEEKS) CAR IS BURNING OIL. THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS.
THE ENGINE LOCKED UP AND FAILED WHILE ON A OVER NIGHT TRIP LEAVING PASSENGERS STRANDED IN THE DARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON ONLY MINUTES BEFORE, NOT ALLOWING FOR ADEQUATE TIME TO INTERVENE. WE WERE UNAWARE AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINES PROBLEM WITH EXCESSIVE BURNING OF OIL. THE GARAGE MECHANICS WERE EXPECTING TO FIND AN OIL LEAK AS THE PROBLEM FOR THE ENGINE BURNING UP AND WERE SURPRISED TO FIND NO LEAK. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED 8 MONTHS AGO, PRE-OWNED WITH 72,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED IT HAD 89,000 MILES ON IT AND $9000 LEFT ON THE LOAN. RELUCTANT TO PAY THOUSANDS TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED SINCE THE ENGINE IS KNOWN TO HAVE THIS RECURRING PROBLEM.
ENGINE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION
KNOWN ISSUE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION WHERE THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT COMES ON JUST INTO 1,000 MILES AFTER CHANGING OIL. THE LOCAL DEALER AT IRA TOYOTA OF TEWKSBURY, MA.01876 - TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK OR WAS STILL THERE. I HAVE SINCE COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA US AT 1-800-331-4331 THEY OPENED A CASE#1701232302 FOR MY ISSUE BUT NOW SAY THAT THE LOCAL TOYOTA AND EVEN REGIONAL STORES CANNOT TAKE MY CAR BACK TO FIX IT AGAIN THE LOCAL STORE SAYS THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE I CAME BACK AFTER 14,379 MILES I AM NOW STUCK WITH A CAR THAT HAS ALREADY STOPPED ON ME RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET - WITH THE STEERING WHEELING BLOCKING SUDDENLY AND FOR ME HAVING TO VEER QUICKLY ON THE CURB WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO CONTROL. I CAN HEAR A SQUEELING...
TAKATA RECALL: I TOOK MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY 4 CYL FOR THE BULLETIN IT HAS OF OIL CONSUPTION AND IT PASS THE TEST TWICE, I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG BUT AS THE TECHNICIANS TOLD ME IT WAS OKAY I DROVE IT LIKE THAT FOR SOME MONTHS STILL HAD TO ADD EVERY 1,000 MILES 1 Q OF OIL. KEPT DOING THIS UNTIL MY ENGINE BLEW. NOW IRS MY FAULT AND THEY DONT WANT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. TOTAL UNJUSTICE FROM TOYOTA.
EVERY SINCE I PURCHASE THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN USING EXCESSIVE OIL.EVER SO OFTEN THE BLINKING OIL LIGHT WOULD COME ON CAUSING ME TO STOP AND POUR OIL IN.ZTHIS HAS OCCURRED IN MOTION AND ON CITY HIGHWAYS.
I AM NEEDING TO ADD AT LEAST 1 QUART OF OIL TO MY CAR EVERY 1,000-1,200 MILES. MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE AN OIL LEAK. TOYOTA STATED THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I AND NOT THE TIME FRAME TO FIX IT.
THE CAR KEEPS CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. I HAVE TO PUT IN NEW OIL ABOUT EVERY 1,000 MILES.
