Gasoline leaked past fuel injectors and diluted the oil. Fuel injectors and spark plugs have had to be replaced with OEM parts. The problem has been confirmed by an official Honda dealership and by an independent service center. This issue has been repaired twice by a mechanic and has happened a third time. When the issue appeared, check engine light, parking brake, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision warning lights have turned on. Car disables adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and forward collision detection when issue occurs. The attached file shows the first incident and first inspection at 82,200 miles. The second incident occurred at 103,000. This second incident was the exact same issue.

3 main issues: (July 2023) Suddenly when trying to accelerate on the interstate, I could not. I pulled over, turned the car off, and back on, and did not have the problem again for several months. (December 2023) Car started to sputter upon turning on. After a minute it ran fine. Continuous problem. (January 2024) Every single service light came on. Car would still operate but without cruise control, lane detecting, electric brake and every other feature. Lights remain on and flashing while driving. Still sputtered upon turning on but would stop after a minute. Several times when putting in drive, would not accelerate past 15mph approx). After restarting, the engine would seem to operate fine while all service lights remained on with functions of each not working. One day the car operated fine and did so for several days. Then the problems started again. I took it in for...

The car has a warranty that was extended because of camshaft issues. The warranty expired 2023 I bought the car in 2023. The issue started happening in 2024. The car will just stop and not go no matter how much you press the gas. So driving anywhere at any speed the car will just all of a sudden stop. it’s extremely dangerous and obviously it’s a problem that Honda has already recognized

While driving the car it began to spit and sputter and lost power to the point I had to pull out of traffic to the shoulder, stop, and turn hazard lights on. While there I turned the car off and restarted it. I began to enter back into traffic, got to about 10-15 mph and all of a sudden the car ran choppy and every light came on the dash displaying a problem with every function of the car. My husband works about a mile from where I was so I drove from where it happened to his workplace. From there the phone calls began to obtain a tow to the dealership. Diagnostic results said head gasket was leaking and coolant was fouling the spark plugs. Dealer quoted $5700 for repairs. (25 hours of labor). Around 86,000 miles (10 weeks ago) the same dealership replaced fuel injectors and spark plugs...

All warning lights in car came on. Subsequently had diagnostic testing done. Code P0172 System too Rich. Dealer says fuel injector's need replacement. My understanding is this is an issue on other Honda cars manufactured during the same time period as mine and a recall notice was issued for those models.

I own a 2017 Honda CRV EX AWD. While driving downhill on a mountain road on Dec. 9, 2023, all of my dashboard warning lights and alarms began flashing and sounding off. Some of the warnings cycled through one after another while others were simultaneous. I continued to drive looking for a safe place to pull over. Going downhill I was able to maintain some speed, but when the road leveled off I found I was unable to accelerate to more than 5-10 miles per hour despite the engine continuing to rev. After pulling over, I stopped the engine for 10 minutes. Upon restarting, the dashboard warnings repeated the same process. At first opportunity, I took the car to a Honda dealership where code DTC P0304 was diagnosed and I was advised that the problem was failure of my fuel injectors. Repairs were made at a cost of more than...

In August my 2017 Honda CRV started losing acceleration and felt like it was stalling. Every light on the dashboard came on. I brought it to herb chambers in Westborough and they fixed the turbo charger, the vehicle was still under warranty so I expected to get the issue fixed. In early December the newly 'fixed' honda CR-V started losing acceleration, similar to the previous time. I got the car to the dealership and they fixed the same issue again but charging around 3000$ because now the car wasn’t under warranty. On Saturday January 6th I started up the 2017 Honda CRV with the intentions of going to Herb Chambers in Westborough. (10-15 miles). The CRV again loses acceleration and check engine light comes on along with every other light in the book. Realizing I was not going to make it to Herb Chambers, I pulled into a lot to...

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

All warning lights on the dashboard come on and disable numerous safety features. The car will have a rough idle at ignition and will sometimes go into a limp mode and will not accelerate. I have researched the issue and believe it is the fuel injectors. According to my research that is the solution that Honda has for these problems. Honda has also changed the part number of these fuel injectors and the manufacturer. I believe Honda is at fault for putting manufacturer defective fuel injectors in.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the ABS, Forward Collision Avoidance, and Emissions warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who changed the engine oil and updated the engine software. After retrieving the vehicle, the warning lights returned. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that there was fuel inside the engine oil and the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 84,292.

All dashboard warning lights come on They flash and cycle through. I have reported to Don Wessell Honda and Pineger Honda in Springfield, MO and Honda of Jefferson City, Jefferson City, MO. This stated sporadically in 2021 and is constant in 2023. I have paid for replacement parts based on the best guess of the problem. Scanning tool does not show codes. First alternator, then oxygen sensor and now injectors. Honda believes injectors are the problem. It is over $1,000.00 to replace them. I have found numerous people having the same issue on line. I believe these injectors should be covered under a recall. They are dangerous!!! When the flashing lights go off the car works fine; once they turn on, randomly, the car spurts and dies out. I have no power to drive. I have to manually turn off car and restart it to get power. This is extremely...

2017 Honda CRV Ex 1.5 Turbo with 97483 miles while driving Multiple alerts on dash showed up. OBD 2 scanner diagnosed it as P0172. Dealership was informed of the code as dealer code came back the same and diagnose it as failed fuel injectors x4. Showed recall letter dated 7/2019 regarding extended warranty Honda Corp. denied claim.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle and the steering wheel was vibrating abnormally. The contact stated that his daughter depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel injection system had failed, and the engine was misfiring. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 113,859.

The engine failed and I was stranded 60 miles from home.all the dash lights were blinking and I couldn’t get the parking brake to unlock . It is available for inspection . I was stranded at a service station with another senior citizen for three hours in 100 degree plus weather. We were stranded and our safety was compromised as we waited for help . I had it towed to a dealer 20 miles away . Rented a hotel and got an Uber to the car the next morning . The auto repair person examined the car and determined that the turbo fan had disintegrated and was sucked into the engine . After further rested he reported the engine had failed and it would cost $8 000. Many of the lights and sensors suddenly began to blink . The car lost some power but we were able to limp to...

I demand answers for the issues I have been facing with my vehicle. I have been to multiple dealerships, but none of them have been able to provide a satisfactory solution. The dashboard lights have abruptly turned on, rendering various features such as radio, HVAC, power steering, brakes, cruise control, and others useless. Every time we have read the codes, different issues have been identified without any explanation as to why they are happening. It's high time that someone takes accountability for the problem and comes up with a solution.

Beginning 8/22 and currently happening, my 2017 CR-V 1.5L Turbo with 48K miles (and all routine services done at Honda dealership/service centers since buying it brand new) does not engage when going from Reverse to Drive; in 1st gear the RPMS increase up to 3K or so before shifting into 2nd gear. When stopped at a traffic light or stop sign, and the car is idling, when starting up again the car hesitates and shutters before engaging. When on the highway and slow down for traffic or switching lanes, the vehicle hesitates even when pushing the gas pedal consistently or down all the way. I have had the vehicle into three different Honda dealerships/service centers and they can replicate the issue but no resolution as there are no service codes identified during diagnostics and none appear on the dash. First Honda advisor came up with no recommendations; 2nd advisor flushed...

All warning lights come on until reset. Eventually leads to the car stalling, three times in the middle of busy high speed intersections. Have brought to the Honda dealer multiple times and been given several very expensive fixes that all did not solve the issue. (Spark plugs, fuel injectors(x2), alternator). All safety features are suspended when this happens. I have an open case with American Honda cooperation but they have not responded in 3 weeks.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle went into LIMP Mode while at a traffic light and then lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the points, intake manifold, oil rings, fuel injectors, and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was previously taken to another local dealer Hardin County Honda 5608 N Dixie Hwy, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 who replaced the points and plugs. The mechanic informed the contact that the fuel system was running rich and with a misfire in cylinders #1 and #2. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

My 2017 CRV started beginning of this year 2023 one day with all the dash codes lighting up effecting the safety drivability of the vehicle. It would randomly stop accelerating and all driver assist system not functioning properly. Accelerating was dangerous vehicle would stall or hesitate to go and almost caused us to get into an accident. This has been brought to a main Honda dealership in Henrietta New York and confirmed that replacing the fuel injectors would solve the problem and that this was an ongoing issue with the Honda CRVs. My vehicle was one of many that had been waiting for fuel injectors to be delivered at that shop. Based on other forums and Honda sites how this isn’t a recall is baffling. We waited over a month without our vehicle being fixed and unusable because the part was out of stock. Vehicle is still not fixed and...

I bought my CRV touring used with 90,000 miles in July of 2022. I’ve had nothing but issues with fuel economy and the car feeling sluggish and held back because it’s not running properly along with getting every warning light on the dash that’s possible when it’s having the issue. P0172 is the code I get and my dealership said it’s the fuel injectors. It is a known and problematic issue that should be resolved by Honda for free because it is faulty. I was quoted $1,388 just to replace the injectors but they’re on back order.

All alerts on dashboard are active - Emission, Brakes, hill-assist, auto high-beam, collision mitigation system, etc. Can no longer drive my car safely. Dealer confirmed. The car just had its oil changed and air filter replaced.

Major driveability/safety issue. The vehicle started skipping and jerking on highway I-93 on the New Hampshire/ Massachusetts line. I was accelerating to 65 mph and merged with traffic, when the car engine began stalling intermittently. The check engine and maintenance indicator lights turned on. As I coasted to the side of the road, the vehicle continued to jerk and slow/speed up.

The bearing wore out at only 62,839 miles causing sudden and complete engine failure on the highway in the desert near Barstow California. We lost power and the car was shaking and spewing blue smoke from the tailpipes. We easily could have been rear ended at 70 mph but somehow managed to get off to the side of the road and at 2 mph make it up an exit ramp. We had to have the car towed 2 hours to a Honda Dealership in Irvine and it needs a whole new engine. It has been there 17 days (ruining our road trip vacation) and just now is finally getting the new engine. The top of the line $2400 -10 year-120,000 mile extended warranty we bought at purchase is refusing to cover it. The mechanic has found a great deal of metal bits in the oil pan and the number 2...

All the warning lights activated when I was driving on the highway and the car made a bell noise to alert me. None of the safety features worked on the Honda CRV 2017, but I was able to maintain driving the vehicle without it. I took it into Tempe Honda Service and they said that the code read DTC P0172 and that I needed to replace all the fuel injectors.

The check engine light on my 2017 Honda CRV came on August 2022 and all safety features of my vehicle stopped working. I immediately took the car to my local Honda dealership. They claim the issue is due to faulty fuel injectors but refused to cover the cost to fix them under warranty even though it’s a known issue with this car and a couple of other Honda cars that use the same system. I’m really concerned as the injector issue disables KEY safety features when it occurs. An injector issue should NOT cause safety features to stop working (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...). Honda should be held responsible for putting their customers lives at risk with faulty systems and lack of accountability or solutions.

Three years ago all the dashboard warning lights went on in my car saying everything was wrong with my car 'brake system problem,' power steering problem, hill assist problem, etc. etc. etc. I took it to Honda immediately and they had no idea why it was happening. If I spend $4,000 they'll figure it out. Once in a blue moon the lights will magically turn off on its own for two or three days with no problems and then the lights come back on every single time you start the car. 355 days out of the year the lights are on every single time you start the car with no safety features able to work. It's beyond irritating, but it's mostly annoying because when you pay for extra safety features (like lane keep assist) none of them work when the lights are on. NONE. No brake warning, no lane keep...

On major highways with traffic, the car would idle rough before conking out completely, especially upon acceleration. In cases where I needed to accelerate to merge into traffic, it was very scary, unpredictable, and unsafe. All warning display messages came on as well. Two mechanics have looked and the second mechanic stated that there's a common issue with fuel injectors for 2017 Honda CRV's. Since it's such a common problem with these cars, the fuel injectors are on a very extended backorder. So, he replaced them with after market injectors and deemed it safe to drive. I drove it to work the next day (again, on a major highway) and the car died again upon acceleration.

We have experienced 3 episodes where all of the system failure alarm lights have been activated. The battery was replaced and the fuel injectors were cleaned after the first 2 episodes. On May 19, 2023, we were driving on I-5 north 100 miles from home when the warning lights came on. We turned around to return home. The car went into limp mode and could only go 10 mph over the passes. This was dangerous considering the number of trucks traveling on the highway. The following week it was determine that the turbocharger had failed due to a clogged oil filter screen. All of the scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, had been performed by the Honda dealership. There have been reported issues with the engine in the 2017 Honda CR-V, including oil dilution problems.

Week of April 11th, While driving the car, the vehicle would start to shake and the following warning messages came on as the vehicle would start to decelerate making us drift to the emergency lane avoid getting hit by an oncoming vehicles. The following messages came up on multiple occasions on the panel. (note, we could only select 3 options above so were not able select all of these) 1. Collision Mitigation System Problem 2. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem 3. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 4. Electrical Parking Break Problem 5. Tire Pressure Monitor Problem 6. Power Steering System (EPS) Problem The car was inspected by Danbury Honda service department, who informed us that it was a blown head gasket. The car is a 2017 purchased in 2020 by Danbury Honda Dearlership. As we worked primarily from home for the last 3 years, the car was not driven that often...

I was driving and put on the air conditioner when a decrease in the engine power occurred. Then all the safety features installed on the car rotated on the dashboard, in addition the check engine light and all the other yellow lights were on and there was a lot of white smoke coming out of my exhaust.I then took it to my mechanic who diagnosed it as a turbo booster failure. It is a safety issue due to my engine could have seize or caused a fire since I was driving on a highway at the time.I found out my extended warranty expired in April, one month before. Also, the mechanic showed me the turbocharger and the turbine wheel was moving around when it was supposed to be in a stationary position.

The car cabin smells like gasoline due to faulty fuel injectors. I tried getting Honda to fix it and they claimed it was a software issue. After the software update the very next day the car showed 6 different warnings. The warnings would come on intermittently but now they are always showing. When the warning lights weren’t on the car would stop abruptly due to the front end collision system. I tried to get them to fix the warning lights and they wanted me to shell out close to 2,000 dollars to replace a part that’s only about 200 dollars retail.

I was driving on the highway with cruise control on when I felt a slight stutter and loss of speed, followed by all my dashboard warning lights turn on. When I tried to press the acceleration, I could only maintain approximately 20mph, with high RPM. The car actually felt like it was maintaining 20mph without any acceleration input. I pulled over and shut the car down. After waiting a while, I restarted the car. All the warning lights remained on, but it seemed I was able to drive the car normally. I decided to drive it 30 minutes to the dealership along back roads not going over 35mph. The dealership "reset" the warning lights and completed several test drives, but they were not able to diagnose the issue. It has been a couple months since the issue and it has not reoccurred, however I have noticed an occasional stutter when...

My wife was driving the car with her 2 friends on highway left lane , all the sudden the engine light flash and the engine was stalling (cannot accelerate). She was driving 55mph before , all the sudden she only can driving 20mph even she gas up. Luckily she was able to pull over to the right lane and parked on the right side zebra lane. Then I went to help my wife I was only 5-10 minutes from where she was. I drove off the highway with 22mph even I gas up (unable to accelerate past 25th). I got out the highway then turn off and on the engine then the light disappeared. Next day we drove then emission system problem light turn on, same turn off and on the engine then the light disappeared. Next day Monday I went to my mechanic and he told me there no...

There is a KNOWN issue with Honda's Body Control Module (BCM) in 2017 Accord, Pilot, Insight, but except the CVR. Upon researching online, it looks like many 2017 CRV owners are experiencing the same issue with the BCM; CRV is not being recalled, but all other Honda models are. Bought it to our car technician, he indicated many CVRs are experiencing the same issue and recommended us to bring it to the Honda dealer. The Honda dealer wanted to charge us $1,700 to repair it, which is unacceptable when the BCM should be added into the recall as many parts are supplied by the same vender. Why did CRV is not part of the recall?
#11507101 |
Car goes into limp mode because of misfiring in cylinders - fuel in oil and In cylinders. Paid to flush injection system and clean oil of fuel and in two weeks it went back to the same issue. There is a known fuel/oil mixture issue and this is that problem.

1 year ago, 1/26/22, my 2017 Honda CR-V experienced a sudden loss of power/acceleration and every error message that could possibly turn on flashed on my dash display. The error messages displayed were very alarming as I remember some of them indicated braking and safety features failing. I was driving on an interstate at a speed of at least 60 mph and had to merge across two lanes of traffic to the nearest exit. I was unable to drive my vehicle any faster than 20-25mph but I was able to drive to a local Honda dealership (Buerkle Honda in Vandais Heights, MN) for diagnostics. I was told that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. I did not ask for any diagnostic details at this time and no root cause for the turbo charger failure was given. It was implied that it was not something completely out of the ordinary...

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 65 -70 MPH and attempting to pass another vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond and decelerated unintendedly. The contact stated that the vehicle gradually decelerated from 65 MPH to 40 MPH. The check engine warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the message 'Emission Failure" and other unknown messages were displayed. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the vehicle would not exceed 45 MPH. The warning lights remained illuminated while driving. The contact stated that when the warning lights turned off, the vehicle responded as needed while driving. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred intermittently. The contact stated that...

Fuel injector for Cylinder 3 failed. This has been a 6 month issue starting with simple cold start issue misfire with cylinder 3 (didn't know this was the issue then). I mentioned this issue at my last oil change (about 3-4 months ago) due to it getting worse, and was told there was nothing wrong with my car. A couple months later, I noticed my AC had quit blowing. Fast-forward to 1 week ago, I got on the interstate and tried to go around someone when my car went into full idle mode because of the misfire with cars speeding behind me and a car to the right of me and could not get over for safety. This almost caused a crash on the interstate due to the misfire issue. I took my car into the dealer today (December 5th, 2022), and was told it was a misfire with cylinder...

In May of 2022, my CRV showed many warning messages for nearly every system in the vehicle including emissions, brakes, power steering, vehicle stability assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation and several others. A friend had the same thing happen except he was traveling at 70mph and experienced a very serious, life-changing car crash. I had my vehicle towed to Honda dealer and was told there was a misfire on cylinder 3 (PO303) and that cylinder 1 looked worn as well. They replaced spark plugs on those cylinders (though I requested they do all 4 at once) and the A/C unit. Apparently this is a "known problem" to Honda but I was never told things to watch for, or to bring the vehicle in for service, until it was inoperable. The dealership gave me a copy of Service Bulletin 19-032 by Honda-- dated June 18, 2019 and said the "good...

My car brakes itself on my road and it took about 20 minutes of turning it off and back on to get 15 feet to my driveway. My car also started shaking and steering to the right on its own, I had a very difficult time not crashing. while I was on the highway with my 4 year old son in the back seat

The issue was reported on 08OCT2022 to a Phil Hughes Honda. The vehicle was brought into the Phil Hughes on 13OCT2022 due to all the lights on the dash were lit up but was drivable to the dealer. Prior to completing the Service Bulletin 19-032, Phil Hughes Honda diagnosed with P0301 (Cylinder 1) misfiring and P0172 (fuel system too rich). The lead service tech has already mentioned the root cause is the fuel injectors causing the misfire and fuel system too rich. I had the vehicle for less than one day after the completion of the service bulleting 09-032. There was lost of power on the road on three (3) different occasions. Loss of power means the vehicle went into "limp" mode during normal road driving and dropped acceleration from normal speed 60mph to ~20mph and continued to decelerate to about ~10mph. The vehicle was pulled over, turned off for...

All 8 systems associated with collision avoidance, lane change warning, tire pressure, cruise control, braking system, and engine electrics are flashing warning lights about 80% of the time. The car runs but these systems are compromised (cruise won't work, emergency braking doesn't work, etc.) The dealer has told me different things each time he has diagnosed it, the latest being a need for new turbo units, but the number of people who have this problem and get different "solutions" from dealers only to have the problem return indicates a systemic problem.

on 5/7/2022, noticed vehicle overheated with no warning indicators other than temp gauge had risen. upon checking vehicle noticed cooling fan was not running and found coolant low. fan would run when AC was engaged clearing possible faulty fan. upon adding coolant, the fan engaged itself. This appears to be a flaw in the design of the electrical system of the vehicle that could lead to disabling the vehicle due to overheating with no prior warnings or indicators, especially since the fan is unable to run when the coolant is low to help keep engine cool.

On Saturday June 18, 2022 at 9:56 a m I was pulling my 2017 HONDA CRV into a parking space at my local Food Lion in Madison, NC. As soon as I took my foot off the gas pedal and slowly pressed the brakes, the engine immediately revved up, accelerated highly and lurched forward not stopping until I hit an unoccupied vehicle head on in front of me. At the same time side swiping an unoccupied vehicle to the left of me. Thankfully no one was injured. Total of {3} vehicles involved causing several thousands dollars of damage. Was inspected by the police and there were no warning signs; it just happened immediately.
