I was driving and my truck went into a limp mode. I pulled to the side of the road to try and figure out the problem but I had no clue. I shut off my truck and started it back up and everything was normal. When I started driving back on the road again about a mile from where I pulled over at I was going about 40mph and all of a sudden my truck rear tires locked up and I noticed my gear shifted to 1st then went back to 6th gear.

Ford has a "safety compliance" which has an expiration date of 10 years or 150,000 whichever was first. How is that even allowed? A major issue with the transmission range sensor which doesn't show a driver what gear there in...the lights all disappear so driver doesn't know if there in P, R, D, N, etc...its extremely dangerous! It also forces my truck to go into limp mode which is very dangerous especially when driving down a highway at 55. The truck was "reprogrammed" a few years back to stop the sudden downshift issue from occurring but it didn't eliminate that problem. Do you know how scary it is to be driving down the highway at 55-60 WITH YOUR TODDLER IN THE BACK...and then your truck suddenly on its own shifts down to 1st gear and there's nothing driver csn do but hope they don't hit or get hit by another...

The transmission downshifts inappropriately while driving (typically at higher speeds). I can see that there have been recalls for inappropriate downshifting during my model year, but Ford is saying there are no recalls on my truck. This has been an issue for a while. The power steering shut off while driving (while I was turning) I saw that there have also been recalls for power steering problems but Ford is saying there are no recalls on my truck. This recently started happening.

Transmission range sensor failure. I do not remember ever receiving a recall letter after I purchased the truck used. Truck will no longer start or show what range it is in.
#11621769 |
A recall was issued for an intermittent failure of the transmission speed sensor (OSS), campaign 16S19. I took the truck to a Ford Dealership, Mike Reichenbach Ford, in Florence SC. The technician reprogrammed the PCM. This did not resolve the issue and the truck continues to downshift or not shift at all. I spoke with the dealership and with the Ford Motor Company. I believe this truck was taken to a dealership more than once without the issue being resolved. I am respectfully request Ford make good on the safety recall of a known issue.

This vehicle was repaired under a previous recall related to the transmission downshifting unexpectedly while driving. A year later, the vehicle is doing the same thing which leads me to question: was the repair done at all? OR was the repair done with defect parts? OR was the actual cause of the defect not actually determined? Either way, I believe this is a continued problem from a previous recall that was never properly dealt with.

There is an active recall for my specific year/make/model - yet I'm being told it doesn't apply to my vehicle - but my vehicle is absolutely having the exact issue described in the recall. How do I get this resolved? The issue is that my vehicle will unexpectedly downshift, (I believe into first gear, based on the RPM's that I get stuck at) almost always while I am driving at freeway speeds. When this happens, an orange wrench appears in my dashboard warning indicator for a brief moment, then I lose all gauges - my digital displays literally just turn to blank dashes as I lose power and the ability to accelerate. My gauges all drop to as if the vehicle isn't even on, my speedometer displays "--" and my RPM's remain at approximately 1500 regardless of whether I try to accelerate or decelerate. If I decelerate, because I'm in...

My truck is doing exactly what the recall on all the others. Check engine light on for input shaft speed sensor. Speed odometer quit working then engine light came on for speed sensor. Now when you drive on highway it will be fine then all of a sudden throw a wrench light and truck goes into limp mode and barely moves. You stop turn it off it resets but still isn’t right it doesn’t seem to shift at proper times seems to be shifting to often.

Vehicle shifted into 1st gear on its own will driving which almost caused my son to wreck, took the vehicle to the Ford dealership as we could not get it back out of 1st gear. I contacted the dealership about this and they said we would not be refunded because our truck is not under the recall however there was a recall for 2011 F150 trucks for this same issue back in 2016 which we were not a part of also. My vehicle, a 2011 Ford F150 with a six cylinder engine and automatic transmission, recently began experiencing "UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTING INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE IN MOTION" AND HAS ALREADY CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. While I was able to avoid an accident, this is a serious safety issue. It is noted that NHTSA has recalled 1.3 million Ford F150 vehicles for the years 2011 - 2013. My particular VIN [XXX], was not included. How do I get a Recall letter to have my vehicle declared a recall and get it repaired. The vehicle is experiencing the same problem as those already recalled. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
