NHTSA Complaint #11623086 — 2011 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle jerked and jumped. The contact stated that the speed odometer seized, and the transmission downshifted to 4th gear. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove to the intended destination with the transmission in 4th gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed of Customer Satisfaction Program: 19N01; however, the contact was informed that the program had expired in 2019. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.
