The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the speedometer became inoperable, the vehicle hesitated to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle shifted sluggishly into gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle shifted into first gear unintendedly. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring increasingly, causing the vehicle to accelerate or decelerate unintendedly. The dealer and several independent mechanics were contacted and informed the contact that the failure could be related to the transmission leadframe and the valve body; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000. The VIN was not available.
[XXX] [XXX] Cedar Rapids IA 52402 April 27 2024 [XXX] PHONE: [XXX] Dear NHTSA I have a 2011 Ford F150 5.0 with a 6 speed transmission and within the last few weeks I have had serious transmission issues that have become so bad it is not safe to drive. At any time the transmission will down shift on its own causing my speed to be reduced dramatically and usually becomes stuck in third gear and lose power. When I come to a stop light it will lung forward until I can get it out of third gear into neutral also some times when I pull out from a stop light while making a left turn it will change gears and the power will drop making it very dangerous to make a left turn in oncoming traffic. I researched the internet trying to find what would cause this and it didn’t...
The contact owns a 2011 Ford 150. The contact stated that while pressing the accelerator pedal a thumping noise was present coming from the transmission and the vehicle had experienced jerking and loss of power along with reduced speeds while driving and the service wrench had displayed. After restarting the engine the vehicle operated as normal but the failure continued to intermittently occur. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,870.
1.) P2112- Throttle Actuator Control System stuck in closed position, no as I was able to get it to work again but looking at replacing the throttle body, so in the future yes. 2.) My saftey was at risk as it failed going over 70+ mph and made my vehicle shake violently. 3.)No but this is the 2nd time in 6 months this has happened. 4.) No 5.)had a power train lamp come on (2011 ford f150 wrench light) right as I lost complete throttle response going 72 MPH
The lead frame on my truck was experiencing issues. The truck would intermittently randomly downshift at high speeds or get stuck in one gear. I was going 65+ mph on the freeway and and my truck shifted to second gear with no warning causing me to swerve and slam on the brakes. Other times my truck did it on surface streets. There were no warning lights or anything to let me know it would happen. After it downshifted, the wrench popped up on the dash, my speedometer went to 0, and my odometer read blank. Forcing me to pull over, restart the truck, in order to get it out of limp mode to be able to make it home. I took my truck to Ford of Valencia California where they inspected the truck and confirmed it was the lead frame. The issue was that at the time the part was...
Was traveling down highway pulled into a gas station to get gas. Left gas station headed down road. Went to go pass a car when truck started to shift down a gear to pass it shifted all the way to 1st gear at 55 mph. It locked back wheels up for a moment but then released. Check engine light come on and I still on. Haven't drove truck but a few times since that happen. The truck is doing the same thing the ford recall of 2019. So I took it to ford where they diagnosed that it needed a new transmission and it had nothing to do with the recall. So it just been mainly seating in the yard.
Lead frame. Known issue and was never replaced. Putting families at risk on highways
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission erroneously downshifted to first gear causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate. During the failure, the service vehicle warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission leadframe had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 144,000.
Over the last few months on at least 15 occasions my transmission has tried to downshift into 1st gear while traveling highway speeds (55-65). Causing the tires lock up but I have always caught it and shifted into neutral to not cause any problems. After researching it sounds like this is a VERY COMMON issue that apparently hasn't been resolved with Fords TSB and software reflash. Also, while this happens my speedometer goes to zero and a wrench screen come up on the instrument panel for a split second.
The transmission downshifts un-expectantly intermittently. The transmission also downshifts on the highway and locks up the wheels. The dealership indicated the time to have the repair made pursuant to the recall has expired. This appears to be a Ford F-150 eco Transmission problem as I've communicated with others online who have the same issues.
My truck when accelerating, it pulls and shifts hard. Also the speedometer sometimes does not work right and the truck loses power..
Driving down the highway my truck will downshift for no reason. Sometimes a big bang will be felt in the rear end & the big wrench symbol will appear & all other controls don't work. There is a recall for this 16S19 & 19S07. I took my truck to the Yreka Ford dealership & was told it needed the molded lead frame replaced but the recall has ended. Still a definite safety issue but it's not covered? How can a safety recall expire but issue is still a safety issue. Still happening & it's very scary when it does. Part is on backorder!! I can't locate my paperwork from Yreka Ford in Yreka, CA.

Truck took off with out me touching the gas in a parking lot had to hit the brakes several times then shifted hard and speedometer quit work and the wrench symbol popped up on the dash and it throw code PO720 which is the output shaft speed sensor /lead frame
I have a 2011 Ford F150 that I bought brand new from Capitol Ford Wilmington NC. This truck had a recall in 2020 that involved violent downshifting of transmission while at highway speeds. I took it for recall servicing by Capitol Ford Wilmington NC. I trusted them to repair this vehicle. They simply reprogrammed the LEAD FRAME inside the transmission. They said that would take care of the problem. See attached service ticket. I have only driven this vehicle in my local area as it only has 97k original miles on it. Recently I tried to drive it on a trip at highway speeds. Suddenly without warning the transmission shifted into low gear at highway speed with engine light coming on. We narrowly averted being killed. This vehicle has shifted in an odd manner for a long time. I just thought it was Fords design that did this. I took...
Timing chain broke
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted, and vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 85,000.
My truck transmission suddenly shifted down to first gear and would not shift back out. fortunately I was travelling only about 30 mph. Eventually it shifted into 3rd gear and locked into "limp mode". Factory told me they will not honor their recall on this since my truck is more than 10 years old. This is a serious safety issue especially if travelling above 60 mph and in heavy traffic. Consumers need better safety responsibility from Ford on these serious safety design flaws.
This vehicle has an automatic transmission. It will not shift out of first gear in the drive setting and the speedometer registers 0 mph when moving in first gear. If I shift to the manual setting, I can shift up. I did not notice if the speedometer registered my speed at that point.
Lead frame went out while driving. This needs to be a payed for fix not safe
The contact owned a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly jerked, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and swerve into the next lane. The contact stated that although he did not seek treatment the day of the accident, he scheduled an appointment the following day after feeling soreness in a nondescript location. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.

The failure mileage was 107,000.
Lead frame and output speed sensor are going out, if not out already. It’s ridiculous.
Vehicle shifts into 1st gear while truck is moving and will not shift tkk ok any other gears. Known issue at dealership, but says it’s out of warranty. If less than 10 years or 150000 miles, they had a recall providing parts and labor. If a vehicle going 60 mph downshifted into 1st gear, it’s a safety issue and in my opinion should not have a time/mileage limitations. Thank you

Check engine light came on, truck tried to downshift running 70 mph. OBD reader says transmission range sensor a. This could have caused me to wreck or crash into someone else. As far as I know, it has never been inspected, called a local ford dealership and they say it’s not a recall.

A Recall Repair (19S07) was performed on 4/24/2023 at which time the truck had 161711 miles. Prior to the Recall Repair I had not experienced any issues at all. I had only brought the truck into Ford Service for a different repair at which time they took care of the Recall (19S07). On 7/9/2023 the truck would not start (No Crank/No Start) A Tow Truck Service was called at which time confirming that the battery was in good condition, however at the time he came, the truck was able to start. Later that week, we experienced this strange issue again (intermittent no crank) and the truck was driven into a local service center where no service codes were showing because the truck was in working condition. Out of concern for the safety of the future reliability of this intermittent starting, the mechanic suggested we consider changing the batter cables, and...

This is a follow up to compaint#11385696. Ford failed to properly check and repair the transmission problem associated with recall#19V-075. They have acknowledged that the technician did not properly service my truck when I took it to them in December 2020. ( see attached March 2023 letter). At that time the truck was under an extended warranty they issued in May 2019. The intermittent problem again caused my truck to experience another sudden downshift in early 2022. This occurred fortunately at a low speed before I drove unto an expressway. At that time, I decided to get the necessary repairs done by a third party because I no longer wanted to take a risk of the problem occurring at high speed on an expressway. In getting the repair done I also found that Ford had to modify the defective part that not only included a defective output sensor but also...

We took our vehicle to Woodhouse Ford in Omaha, NE (72nd St Location) for the 19S07-6R80 Sudden Transmission Downshift-Powertrain Control Module Programming Recall. It was supposedly fixed with a software update. Not long after we experienced the PRNDL Illumination and Backup Lamp Activation (Recall 12C23) Symptom. We were told, while this is a known issue and a recall for other 2011 Ford F-150s, your vehicle’s specific VIN is not “officially in the recall”. Thus, your bill is $867.26 and $636.57 for the associated repairs; transmission leadframe, the backing light issue, and an associated parasitic leak. We pay, we get the vehicle back with no resolution of the parasitic leak and now a backing camera that no longer works (Blue Screen)…was working just fine prior. We now learn that the backing camera is a recall in other Fords…but not OUR VIN. Woodhouse quotes another $900 (New Backup Camera) and another $450...
While I am driving the vehicle at the posted speed limit it will suddenly down shift into first gear. This causes the vehicle to decelerate quickly and unexpectedly. Fortunately this has happened while driving in the city at 30mph and not while I was driving on the freeway at 70mph as it may have caused a loss of control. The vehicle is not being operated at this time due to malfunction happening several times. I contacted Ford and they stated there was a recall but my vehicle exceeded the mileage limit. I strongly believe that this is a safety issue as it can cause loss of control.
Truck transmission shifted into 1st dear from 4th while driving on a large 4-lane road in the middle of traffic while i was going approx 35 mph. When the downshift happened the tired locked up and the rear end slid sideways. I was able to regain control; however, as I stepped on the accellerator, the truck bogged down for a few seconds before reving to high RPMs and shifting roughly and then went into a mode that only allowed the truck to move between 3rd and 5th gears.
The transmission is downshifting during highway driving causing an abrupt decrease in speed without warning. This issue causes an unsafe condition while operating the vehicle to myself and others around me. Although Ford motor company is aware of the issue, they have not initiated a recall because of it.
I was driving my ford f150 ecoboost 3.5 in the highway I was driving arounf 65 to 70 miles per hours and my truck unexpectedly downshift from 6 gear to first gear, I almost cause an accident cause behind me was another car that almost hit my car on the back just because this problem with the transmission. This is the second time that happen to me driving this car, sometimes I dont fell constable divining like that, I bring the car to the dealer and they said that its no recall for this matter on my truck. I just want to report this matter to some body. This its a serious matter that Ford Dealer should take care.
Sorry it’s been a few days since I have been able to report the still ongoing issue regarding my truck. 6 times on Saturday my truck had extremely erratic behavior. It’s getting progressively worse and I continuously have to speed above the speed limit in order to get my vehicle to shift. I have been trying not to drive it as I know the hard shifts and high rpm’s are causing additional damage that I’ll likely be responsible for. I’m hopping to hear something back soon as I am rallying up members of local forums to whim filing complaints so we can get Ford to resolve this instead on continuing to put a bandaid on it. I would upload videos however your format doesn’t allow me to upload videos of the incidents.
