The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that in order to change the shifter upwards from the drive position, the vehicle must be in manual mode. When the vehicle was in drive manually it would automatically switch into first gear. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact restarted the vehicle several times for proper function or the vehicle would regain proper function automatically. The contact called the dealer who confirmed the failure related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19v075000 (Power Train) however the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 189,112.
Had the recall 19S07 service preformed 11/2020. Truck continues to do the exact same downshifts into first gear. Shift lights on dash go erratic switching the wrench lights up on the dash. Goes away and jerks into gear and takes off. Have not been able o drive because of how frequently it’s happening now. Last time this happen a man literally came back around to tell me off because he barely missed t-boning me trying to turn into Safeway.
The truck has abruptly shifted into first gear multiple times while driving at highway speeds or speeds far above what first gear should be allowed, failed to shift out of first gear multiple times at stop lights, and has failed to accelerate into first gear from park also throwing a P0731 code and warning indicator light.
I was driving 65MPH. The Change Oil Soon Message come on. I pressed Reset to clear the message. Within seconds the truck jerked twice and when I looked at the dash I was in 1st gear doing over 5500 RPM. The speedometer showed I was not moving but no other indications of error on the dash. No Wrench showing this time. I pulled over and turned the truck off. Restarted the engine and everything was just fine the whole way home from there. I drove the truck to the dealership (Lawton, OK) to check the truck for me on Thursday but they seemed to think if the check engine light was not on there was no urgency. They know it is an F150 from 2011. They want me to return on the 16th for an appointment.
Driving down the road at about 45mph. I was slowing down for a stop sign. The truck just accelerated with my foot on the brake. I had to press the brake harder and overcome the acceleration.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle downshifted to first gear. The contact stated that the tires locked up and the vehicle was uncontrollable. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, while driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 22,614.
I was driving my truck to lakemead nv on the highway going about 50-55 mph when all of sudden my truck dropped from 6th gear to 5th gear so i pulled over and it went from 5th to 3rd gear and it would not change from there i got a check engine light with code p0721 well long story short i called ford with the code and found out it was a “csp” customer satisfaction program but my truck does not qualify because of miles and year apparently 150,000 miles or 10years witch ever comes first but to me i feel like its a safety issue and should fix it no matter what thank god there wasn’t that much traffic otherwise i don’t know what would of happened.
11 May 2022: Turned right into four lane traffic and accelerated. Truck refused to shift out of first gear. I had to make the first turn I could to get out of traffic. Turned truck off and re-started engine. Problem was resolved. Wednesday 18 May: Driving west on Hwy 7 at about 65 MPH. Truck lurched slightly and all speed/distance indicators on dash went blank. A single wrench was displayed. Speedometer dropped to Zero MPH.Truck seemed to drive just fine so I limped to a gas station a mile away. There I shut the truck off again and restarted the engine. Engine ran fine but no odometer readings still. Being 15 miles from the next town I decided to continue to drive slow. Shifting was normal and truck ran fine just no speedometer. I Drove straight to the first auto parts store (Advanced Auto) who read the fault code for...
Transmission skipped gears while driving. Downshifted from 5 to 1 going 70 mph while driving down the interstate. Rear end locked up causing me to almost lose control. Sitting still at a light it will shift itself in to higher gears. Wrench light comes on.
The powertrain (transmission) has failed. The vehicle has had an issue when shifting into reverse since around the time I purchased the pickup. The vehicle is still doing this, and it is shifting strangely. It will shift from 2, to 1, to 4. Now it will shift from 3, to 1, to 5. When downshifting as I come to a stop, it will stay in 4, unless I manually shift to N, and back into D. At this time, it will shift back to 1 at a stop. It looses power at these times. It has presented with the "powertrain malfunction indicator light" (wrench). My safety and that of others was put at risk by shifting erratically, causing the vehicle to slow down, nerfing the ability to speed up. Losing the ability to speed up from a dead stop under normal driving conditions, increasing the likelihood of an accident from...
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact was parked in the residence driveway and had moved the shift lever into "drive" and depressed the accelerator pedal to begin to move forward down the driveway. The contact stated that the vehicle was in "reverse" and not in "drive" and the vehicle backed into the garage door at approximately 2 MPH, hitting the door with the trailer hitch. The contact stated that the "PRNDL" illumination on the dashboard was not functioning and he observed that the "check engine" was also illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer and it was diagnosed that the "Lead Frame" and the "Transmission Range Selector" needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V190000 (Power Train, Exterior Lighting). The manufacturer had not been informed of the...
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F150. The contact stated while approaching a stop sign at 15 MPH, the vehicle downshifted independently into first gear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer on 3 different occasions and had the powertrain control module update but continued to experience the failure. The contact then took the vehicle to Elliott Ford (2055 W Burton Rd, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455: (903) 572-3486) but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the electronic vacuum pump emitted a loud winding noise. The contact let the vehicle run for approximately 45 seconds before the noise ceased. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was not able to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 145,416.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The vehicle had previously been serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) at the dealer; however, the failure occurred after the recall was repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormal sounds while accelerating or coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that he needed to pay out-of-pocket for the diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 133,743.
While I was driving home from work in my 2011 Ford F-150 on the highway. I was passing a semi when my transmission suddenly downshifted very hard locking up the wheels for a second. Which caused my truck to almost come to a complete stop in the left lane of the highway. The truck behind me almost rearended my truck and it caused my truck to jar to the right in front of the semi truck. I was able to avoid colliding with the semi truck and bring my truck to a stop on the right shoulder of the highway. Then when I tried checking to see if the truck would still move by moving the shifter through the gears. No matter what gear I put it in it would not move so I had to have it towed home where it is still sitting. I have tried to move...

The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and shifting into reverse, the vehicle stalled. The contact restarted the vehicle and attempted to shift into reverse again. The transmission range sensor and power train malfunction indicator lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was diagnosed by the contact. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V190000 (Power Train, Exterior Lighting) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,400.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 19V075000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Traveling at 45 mph the transmission abruptly downshifted, rpm jumped up past 5000, and the rear wheels locked and made me lose control of the truck. I recovered and pulled over. Luckily no other vehicle was around us at the time as I was all over the road trying to control the vehicle. Ford has not reached out to me about this issue however I have discovered that this is a known problem in this year of F150 trucks and all my Recalls have been completed.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150 The contact stated while stopped at a stop sign, the contact took his foot off the brake pedal and the vehicle started to accelerate. The vehicle was turned off and restarted and the contact was able to safely drive the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,415.
While driving the transmission down shifted the maintenance light came off and I selected okay. At that point the display went to dashes and the vehicle was in limp mode. Was able to park the vehicle safely. Turned the truck off and let sit, started truck 30 minutes later and did a slow drive around the area and the issue did not happen again. Bought this vehicle used has 97000ish miles on it. Getting it looked at ASAP.
The truck constantly downshifts out of 2nd or 3rd gear into 1st gear. The speedometer is now pegged and the radio display keeps going on and off. This is a known problem and there a many complaints. This truck was produced in 2011 at the same plant as recalled trucks experiencing the same issue. When is the NHTSA going to force Ford to expand the recall. Do more fatal accidents need to happen before you force them to expand the recall. The NHTSA and Ford will be liable for damages when it is found that they new there was an issue and decided to ignore the issue causing more deaths.
The truck drops out of 2nd and 3rd into 1st gear. The electronics (Speedometer pegged and radio display goes in and out constantly) are shorting. This is a know problem with a recall that needs to be expanded. My truck was produced at the same production plant during 2011 as the recall but for some unknown reason is not included in the recall. The NHTSA needs to force Ford to expand the recall before more people are killed. Eventually there will a class action lawsuit against Ford and the NHTSA for knowing about the transmission short and not doing anything about it.
While driving on the interstate my truck suddenly flashed a wrench on the display. At that point the truck shifted by itself into a lower gear almost causing an accident and for me to lose control of the truck. When this happened the speedometer stopped working and went to zero and the mileage disappeared and showed all dashes. Once I turn the ignition off, it seems to fix the problem for the short term, but after 20-30 mins it does the exact same thing again. This happened for the first time 3 weeks ago and has happened 5 or 6 times since. I have stopped driving the truck. Ford could not tell me specifically what was wrong with the truck because they couldn't recreate the error due to the fact that they wouldn't drive it for 20-30 mins for the problem to occur.
while driving at approx 60mph the vehicle down shifted to low, no response from the accelerator, the wrench showed in the display after selecting ok the display changes to all dashes
Traveling at highway speeds approximately 65 to 70 miles per hour. The vehicle down shifted to 2nd and then 1st gear on it’s own. The downshifting caused the rear tires to lockup and the vehicle simultaneously jerked to one side. Luckily I was able to maintain control and move over to the shoulder safely. I was able to drive home manually shifting through the gears.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would enter limp mode. The contact stated that the vehicle maintenance warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.
While driving down the road the vehicle shifts down to 1st gear. Lights on dashboard go out briefly. This causes big safety issue when i am doing 70 miles an hour on the highway with cars behind me. Ford has a Customer Satisfaction program out on this issue. (16N02) But they put a limit on the work of 10 years or 150,000 miles. So I have to pay now because we bought this used and the previous owner never brought it in. the vehicle now has 157,000 miles on it. This is not listed as a safety recall and i believe it should as it poses a huge safety issue on the roads as I am driving.
I just recently had the recall for transmission reprograming completed. 3 weeks later, the transmission dropped to 1st gear while driving. No indicator lights illuminated on the dash. A sudden downshift could cause the loss of vehicle control resulting in an accident. Any vehicle following me could have collided with me. Upon researching the issue, I found this is a common problem with this vehicle. The problem has not been reported to a dealer or service center. No indicator lights illuminated on the dash. After turning the truck off and restarting, the transmission would not shift beyond 1st gear. While applying steady/consistent pressure to the gas pedal, the engine would rev/surge intermittently.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while coming out of a complete stop, the vehicle was stuck in first gear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 91,572. Vehicle has been repaired.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to reverse out of the driveway, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was shifted to PARK, restarted, and shifted into drive, and operated as designed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Several hours later that day after returning from the gas station, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled while approaching his residence. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was pushed onto the driveway and shifted into PARK. The contact performed a diagnostic test and retrieved a code for a defective transmission range sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 290,000.
The transmission is down shifting from 2nd to 1st intermittently. The transmission makes a thumping sound then goes back to normal. Speedometer is pegged at 140 miles an hour and the radio display is blinking on and off.
The vehicle transmission shifts down into lower gear while driving. This is already a known recall, but my complaint is that the vehicle manufacturer fix to the safety issue is not an effective remedy and does not fix the problem at hand. I originally took my car in for a safety recall. The recall was was for a transmission issue that causes the vehicle to to downshift to first gear randomly which could lead to an accident or death if traveling at high speeds. The recall "procedure" was performed which was just a software update to the vehicles programming, but the issue still persisted. I told the dealership service advisor that my car was still downshifting intermittently and that my car was still dangerous to drive. I was told that the software update was just a fix to cover fords liability against recall lawsuits, but that the actual reason for...
Vehicle speedometer stopped working, the total mileage indicator read all dashes “- - - - - -“ and the transmission was shifting to the wrong gear. For example from a stop the truck would immediately be in fifth gear. The yellow wrench indicator came on briefly and then went away. I turned the truck off then on again and the problem went away and I made it home. Today I took the car to get the safety recall completed, and on my way home the car speedometer stopped working again and I was not able to accelerate while I was making a left turn. This left me stranded in the middle of the intersection and I had to restart the car and the problem went away. I asked the dealer if they would look into the lead frame extended warranty and they would not honor the coverage because I am...
I was driving down busy highway at approx 55 mph when without warning my truck downshifted. I was terrified and it was all I could do to keep control of my vehicle. I was lucky that I wasn’t ran over. After I regained my composure I attempted to pull up to a drive way and truck would barely move. Ended up having it towed to my home. I have since did research and found the recall. I will be contacting my local ford dealer to inquire about repairs. This is a very dangerous problem. I anticipate that ford will correct the problem without cost to me.
I have owned this truck a little over 2 years. Several times while starting out, the transmission will not shift out of first gear. I have to pull over somewhere, stop, and put the transmission in park, then proceed again. It operates normally after that. There is a recall that Ford has issued to repair that problem, but because my truck doesn’t show a certain “code” when checking the diagnostics, Ford will not put the truck under this recall. I have read other situations where you can be going 70 mph and the transmission suddenly shifts into first gear, locking the rear wheels, and causing accidents. This is a real problem that I worry about daily, as my son usually drives this vehicle. I don’t understand since Ford knows a problem exists, that they refuse to remedy this dangerous situation. Can you help on my behalf, please?
I am trying to get my truck repaired under the recall noted below: Manufacturer Recall Number19S07 NHTSA Recall Number19V075 However, Ford does not have the parts to complete the repair and can give no time frame as to when they will have them. I have been without my truck for 6 weeks and counting.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 20-35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear and stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that he veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to drive to his destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.
Speed sensor stops communicating causing the truck to shift in first gear. This has caused the back wheels to lock up and could cause serious wreck. I need to have this fixed ASAP at no charge. This is a $40,000 truck and should not be having these dangerous issues. I hope this can be taken care of without contacting the news and my attorney
While in a parking lot I started the engine and put it in gear with my foot on the brake. After a moment or 2 the RPM came up and the tires were squealing. I then shifted to neutral and the RPM slowed. I then shifted to drive and drove to an exit. While waiting for a break in traffic with my foot on the brake the same thing happened. The RPM came up and the rear tires were trying to spin. I shifted to neutral until I could move, and shifted to drive and joined the traffic. There was no problems with speed control while driving in traffic.
Going down the road at 55 mph, and the truck went down to first gear, wouldn't show my speed, then wouldn't come out of 3rd gear.
So I went and got the recall done on it the one about the failing pcm and it dropping to first all of a sudden and temporarily losing control of the vehicle. Fortunatley every time this happens ive been going slow but there have been times when ill be going a good 60 something mph and it feels like ive hit a brick wall. so anyway i got the recall done and it was good fro a awhile but now its doing it again and when o called the dealership[ to find out what to do about it. They said I was sol and need to bring it in so they can find out whATS WRONG WOITH IT FEES NOT INCLUDED...
VEHICLE'S SLAMS INTO 1ST WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, BUT DEALERSHIP SAYS FORD HAS STOPPED THEIR INITIAL FIX. APPARENTLY THEIR FIX IS NOT WORKING. NOT ABLE TO GET TIMELINE ON WHEN FORD WILL COME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR THIS. DOES NOT SEEM SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT I NEED A VEHICLE. I CAN'T GET IT REPAIRED SO NOW I'M IN LIMBO WITH NO VEHICLE. FEEL HELPLESS.
LOUD GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FLYWHEEL/STARTER. FLYWHEEL IS BAD ALREADY ON A 2011 F150
MY DEALER AND FORD HAVE REFUSED TO FIX MY VEHICLE UNDER THE ORIGINAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM RULES FOR 19N01, AND BECAUSE OF A TECHNICALITY AND FORDS NEW EXTRA STRICT RULES, I AM BEING ASKED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT ON THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM AND THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. MY VIN WAS RECALLED FOR UNINTENDED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH HAS CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. 19N01 IS THE NHTSA NUMBER. THE ORIGINAL RECALL I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL SAID THAT THE PROGRAMMING WOULD BE REDONE FIRST (19S07) AND I DID THAT IN LATE 2019. ON FEBRUARY 8TH I EXPERIENCED AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT EVENT WHILE IN MOTION, ON THE HIGHWAY, I WAS IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN, 'WRENCH LIGHT' ON MY DASH, AS WELL AS ZERO SPEEDOMETER, AND WAS IN LIMP MODE. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SYMPTOMS...
WHILE TRUCK IS RUNNING IT SUDDENLY JOLTS AN DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR. THEN JOLTS AGAIN INTO GEAR. IT TAKES A WHILE SOMETIMES FOR IT TO GET BACK IN GEAR AND RUNNING. DOES IT RANDOMLY BUT MORE AND MORE OFTEN. MECHANIC SERVICED TRANSMISSION SAID IT WAS FINE. FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE
HAD A RECALL ON MY 2011 F150 . I TOOK IT AND GOT IT FIX FOR THE 12C23 A/T RANGE SENSOR AND ITS STILL DOING THAT SAME THINGS , IT GOES INTO REVERSE BUT WANT IMMEDIATE ON THE DASH OF MY F150 AND THIS CONDITION INCREASES THE RICK OF A CRASH OR SOMEONE BEING HIT BECAUSE THE TRUCK ISN'T SIGNALING IT'S IN REVERSE . SO THE TIME I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED IT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE AND WHEN I GET IN REVERSE AND BACK OUT , I HAVE TO PUT TRUCK IN PARK AND CUT TO REST IT BECAUSE IF NOT THE TRUCK WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS . I TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AND WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME 2800.00 FOR LEAD FRAME AND CPM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DOWNSHIFTED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED AUTOSAVER FORD (11125 NY-22, COMSTOCK, NY 12821) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED OUT OF POCKET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND WAS NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH THE CONTACT LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 146,000.
I I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO FORD OF DALTON, GEORGIA BECAUSE THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE PCM AND TRANSMISION THAT WILL SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT IT WOULD COST ME $140 DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, AND IF THE PROBLEM WAS THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME IN THE TRANSMISSION THAT COMMUNICATES WITH THE OUTPUT SHAFT SENSOR, THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE RECALL OR WARRANTY. THIS CONTRADICTS WHAT THE RECALL STATES. I SHOULDNT BE CHARGED $140 DOLLARS FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE A RECALL..THIS IS ON A 2011 FORD F-150
