2011 FORD F-150 Unknown Or Other Problems

The first indication of problems came when I tried to put the truck in gear and I noticed that the reverse light didn't come on and it wouldn't engage into the gear then as I was traveling down a three-lane highway in the middle lane the car started jerking and like it didn't want to go and then I got to a red light and the truck would not move so I was stuck in the central lane but after engaging the gear several times I managed to get the vehicle into a gas station parking lot where I call the dealership after finding out that I had the trouble code that was referred in the recall and the vehicle was towed to Duval I mean it was told to Hogan forward on Atlantic boulevard .where it's now under inspection.

I was driving in the morning car was started to lag on accelerating and shifting gears slightly. My dashboard and gps system flickered on and off when this happened. The truck putted as well. On my way home the car had trouble accelerating and dropped from 5th gear all the way to first causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle. It continued hard shifting and loss all acceleration. It continued flickering everytime it would sputter and slip gears, Gps and dashboard would flicker. They gears were going haywire. The back window in my truck shattered right as I was exiting it in the garage. After it happened I read online that this is a very widespread issue with these trucks. My rear defroster was turned on. I haven’t replaced the window yet. PLEASE make Ford do a recall for this. It’s happening to way too many trucks solely because of poor design. People shouldn’t have to foot the high cost of replacement. Thank you.

The truck randomly caught fire. There is 100’s of not 1000’s of reports of the 3.5 eco boost trucks catching fire with no explanation. Now I’m being treated like a criminal and have lost my mint condition truck.

fuse 27 is a safety issue when it fails on the road in traffic. so, you want to wait till someone dies. do the right thing and force ford to issue safety recall. 1 death is to much. no issue with my truck as of now. i don't want issues with this ongoing problem.

It was a really cold night. My niece got in my truck in the passenger side back door. When we got to the grocery store 10 minutes later, that door refused to open. When I hit the lock/unlock button, it didn't even sound like it engaged at all in that door panel. The manual lock could neither be pushed down or pulled up. As soon as it got warm out again, the door opened and the locking mechanism worked just fine.

I am getting a P0299 code truck and according to research, this is something to do with the Turbo. It is causing my truck to lose power while driving. I have had it parked since then.

Driving down residential street about 100 yards from my driveway and power steering completely failed. Dashboard message says steering assist fault. Luckily school hadn't let out yet so there weren't any kids running around. I was able to get the truck in my drive safely. I am having it towed to certified repair garage. Safety first. I've learned that this is a fairly common issue and that it can happen at highway speeds. Not cool Ford. Do better.

I was driving about 8-0 mph when I heard a loud bang! Thought someone had crash my Truck but only to find out My rear window shattered! Doing my research I found out it was from the rear defrost malfunction that cause it! On top of that O read over 100 complaints on the same thing!! Vehicle speedometer stopped working, the total mileage indicator read all dashes “- - - - - -“ and the transmission was shifting to the wrong gear. For example from a stop the truck would immediately be in fifth gear. The yellow wrench indicator came on briefly and then went away. I turned the truck off then on again and the problem went away and I made it home. My vehicle has had (3) random occurances of the transmission shifting into a high gear and basically leaving my truck unresponsive when I am in traffic. For example, on the most recent occurrence, which occurred on 8/31/2021, I pulled out onto a street and my truck would not accelerate whatsoever, leaving me in a very dangerous situation as traffic was coming both ways on the street and I had no power. The vehicle did not display any check engine lights, the speedometer stopped working, and the mileage on the odometer disappeared. While in a parking lot I started the engine and put it in gear with my foot on the brake. After a moment or 2 the RPM came up and the tires were squealing. I then shifted to neutral and the RPM slowed. I then shifted to drive and drove to an exit. While waiting for a break in traffic with my foot on the brake the same thing happened. The RPM came up and the rear tires were trying to spin. I shifted to neutral until I could move, and shifted to drive and joined the traffic. DRIVING HOME I STARTED TO HEAR AND FEEL THIS NOISE ON MY ENGINE LIKE A CLICKING/GROUNTING SOUND. I COULD HEAR IT MORE WHEN MAKING TURNES AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 10:30PM GOING 55MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN, WE HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG THAT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO RUN OFF THE ROAD, THANKFULLY I DIDN'T. I WAS ESPECIALLY WORRIED BECAUSE MY 4YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO THIS.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY DOWN SHIFTS , DASH BOARD GOES BLANK, WRENCH LIGHT POPS UP AND SPEEDOMETER ZEROS OUT. FORCING YOU TO STOP

ON REPEAT OCCASIONS MY TRUCK SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING, MY ODOMETER WILL READ ZERO AND MY VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO INCREASE SPEED DESPITE STEPPING ON THE GAS. IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE I HAVE HAD TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND ON AGAIN.

THE REAR DEFROST HAD BEEN ACTING UP NOT WANTING TO WORK EVERY TIME I'D TRY AND USE IT FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS. WELL ON THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 7 I WENT TO WARM MY TRUCK UP AND TRIED MY DEFROST AND IT DIDN'T LIGHT UP SO I FIGURED WELL ITS NOT WORKING. SO AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICE THAT MY BACK GLASS WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE BACK GLASS. I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BREAK AND THERE WAS NO OTHER SIGN OF IMPACT. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 07/30/19. ON OR AROUND 08/01/19 THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I NOTIFIED BOTH SALESMEN AT THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY BY TEXT MESSAGE AND PHOTOS. THE PASSENGER A/C WILL NOT SWITCH TO COOL. IT IS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I FEEL IT IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. I KNOWN SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS THAT HAVE SAME PROBLEM.

I STARTED MY TRUCK FOR WORK AND TURN ON REAR DEFROSTER AND THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ALSO TWO WEEKS AGO MY TIRE ALMOST FELL OFF AFTER 3 LUG NUTS BROKE M AND 1 WAS MISSING

WE HAD A MARCH SNOW STORM ON 3-18-19 AND TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW FREEZING. I HAD TURNED ON MY REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK DRIVING ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THAT ONE OF MY REAR WINDOWS HAD SHATTERED. THIS IS A WINDOW WITH THE DEFROSTING ELEMENT IN IT. AFTER INSPECTING THE WINDOW I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY IMPACT TO THE WINDOW. AS SHOWN IN THE ATTACHED PICTURES. THE WINDOW JUST SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. WAS APPEARS THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY THERMAL EXPANSION FROM THE HEATED DEFROSTER.

WAS IN PARKING LOT AND STARTED VEHICLE. PUT IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO MOVE. HEARD LOUD POP SOUND. STOPPED AND GOT OUT TO LOOK OVER VEHICLE. FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS DEFECT IN THE WINDOW. THE REAR WINDOW IS A THREE PART SLIDER WITH DEFROST. FORD SERVICE DOES NOT KNOW WHY THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND WILL NOT COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT. AT THIS TIME THE WINDOW HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. UNDERSTAND FORD HAS ISSUES WITH THIS HAPPENING AND WILL NOT COVER UNDER A POSSIBLE RECALL. IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE DEFROST SYSTEM IN WINDOW.

THE REAR DEFROST MALFUNCTIONED AND ONE OF THE THREE REAR WINDOW PANELS SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN TO SCHOOL WITH MY 3 CHILDREN IN THE BACKSEAT. WE WERE GOING 25 MPH THROUGH A TOWN.

REGARDING SAFETY RECALL NOTICE19S07, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SOFTWARE TO FIX THIS UNTIL SOMETIME IN MAY, TO CALL BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF MAY. HOW CAN I MAKE FORD RESPOSIBLE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME IN THE MEANTIME? THANKS!

AS EXPERIENCED BY MANY OTHERS, ONE OF THE FIXED REAR WINDOWS SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON A MARYLAND STATE ROADWAY THAT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE OSS OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER 19S07 IN NOVEMBER 2018 I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT I WENT TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL I TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN THE TRUCK SEEMED TO GO INTO GEAR AND SEEMED FINE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING 8 HOURS LATER ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK THE POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON WRENCH LIGHT I STOPPED AND HAD IT CHECKED CODES 0720 AND 0722 CAME UP OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR I TOOK IT TO MY SHOP WHERE THEY GAVE ME THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER WHICH I DID THEY RAN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME FAULTY AND CHARGED ME $1526.00 AND NOW...

WHEN I TURNED ON MY REAR DEFROSTER THIS MORNING WHILE IT WAS PARKED, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND WAS NOT AWARE OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED UNTIL LATER WHEN I SAW THAT MY REAR WINDSHIELD'S RIGHT SIDE GLASS HAD COMPLETELY SHATTERED. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE,I LEARNED THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY FORD F150 OWNERS, I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME ALMOST $680 TO REPLACE THE WINDOW.
