Both rear passenger door locks failed while vehicle in motion, thus allowing doors to swing open while vehicle in motion. First occurrence drivers side rear door May 25, 2019, second occurrence May 1 2024. Replacement parts order from Ford to repair both times. No obvious reason for failures. Original parts on hand.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AS A RESULT OF USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
WHEN THE 2 REAR DOORS ARE LOCKED, IT IS HAPHAZARD WHEN THEY WILL UNLOCK OR OPEN, EITHER MANUALLY OR FROM THE INSIDE. WHEN I HAVE CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS IN THE REAR SEATS AND I AM UNABLE TO OPEN EITHER DOOR IT CAN BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH IN CASES OF EMERGENCIES. NOT EVERYONE IS ABLE TO CRAWL FROM THE FRONT SEAT TO THE REAR SEATS TO GET BABIES OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS. THE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE FRONT DOOR PANEL CONTROLS OR THE REMOTE KEY. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, THE DOORS STILL WILL NOT UNLOCK . THE DATE OF 5/01/2019 IS AN APPROXIMATE DATE, AS THIS HAS BEEN AN OFF & ON AGAIN PROBLEM. NOW THAT I HAVE BABIES TO TRANSPORT, IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 10:30PM GOING 55MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN, WE HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG THAT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO RUN OFF THE ROAD, THANKFULLY I DIDN'T. I PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG UNTIL I LOOKED AT THE BACK GLASS. THE BACK GLASS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. OUT OF NO WHERE. MIND YOU, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS PRIOR. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THIS TRUCK FOR THIRTY DAYS YET AND THIS HAPPENED. I WAS ESPECIALLY WORRIED BECAUSE MY 4YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE CLEANING THE VEHICLE SHE BECAME AWARE OF CRACKS ON THE FRONT FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR DIAGNOSED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,414. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR VEHICLE. I CANNOT SEE OUT OF IT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. WE DID NOT SEE ANYTHING HAPPEN TO IT (PERSON) VIA OUR SECURITY CAMERAS. I AM WORRIED IT WILL SHATTER. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS I HAVE CONDUCTED RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET.
REAR DOOR AJAR. SENSOR SHOWS DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR AS OPENED, WHEN IT HAS BEEN IN FACT CLOSED, CLOSED AND LOCKED, BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT CHILD LOCK ENGAGED.
LEAK DEVELOPED BEHIND THE A/C COMPRESSOR THROUGH THE FIREWALL CAUSING A BUILDUP OF WATER UNDER THE FLOORBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DESTROYING THE RUGS. LEAK HAD TO BE FIXED AND RUGS ALL REPLACED DUE TO MOLD ANDREW MILDEW. HAPPENED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME WHEN THE A/C WAS RUNNING.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WILL RANDOMLY UNLATCH. AT THIS POINT THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH UNTIL YOU GET OUT AND MANUALLY MOVE THE LATCHING MECHANISM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHEN THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
VEHICLE HAS A MODERATE WATER LEAK FROM THE REAR WINDOW.
THE BACK WINDOW OF MY F150 SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE TRUCK IS KEPT IN STORAGE BECAUSE IT'S USED ONLY TO PULL A CAMPER ON A FEW OCCASSIONS DURING THE YEAR. ON JANUARY 25, 2018 I WENT INTO THE BED OF THE F150 TO INSTALL A NEW BREAK LIGHT INTO THE DOME OF THE BED. ONCE THE LIGHT WAS INSTALLED, I OPENED THE DOOR OF THE F150 TO TEST THE LIGHT AND I MANUALLY WITH MY HAND, PRESSED DOWN GENTLY ON THE BRAKE. THE BREAK LIGHT WENT ON AND I RE-ATTACHED THE LIGHTING UNIT TO THE TRUCK. ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER THAT A LOUD BOOM WAS HEARD AND I SAW THAT THE REAR WINDOW THAT DIVIDES THE CAB SEAT AND THE BED, ON THE PASSANGER SIDE WAS NOT ONLY SHATTERED, BUT THE MIDDLE HAD BROKEN APART AND THERE WAS GLASS NOT ONLY IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK, BUT...
2011 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW XLT 4X2. IN THE LAST YEAR I HAD THE SPRING MECHANISM THAT SECURES THE FUEL DOOR BREAK AND NO LONGER PROVIDES A SECURE SEAL. I HAVE NOTICED THAT A NUMBER OF OTHER FORD F-150'S AROUND THE SAME MODEL YEARS EXHIBIT A SIMILAR ISSUE AND I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT WE WOULD HAVE SEEN A RECALL WITH THE NUMBER OF ISSUES IN THIS CATEGORY
2011 F-150 CONTINUES TO LEAK FROM REAR HEADLINER. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO FORD IN 2013 AND 2014 FOR LEAKS. FORD CLAIMED THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE THIRD BRAKE LAMP ON CAB. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LEAK CAUSING MOLDY SMELLING INSIDE ALSO MAKING VISUAL OBSTRUCTION INSIDE OF VEHICLE DUE TO MOISTURE BUILD UP.
WATER IN PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD, AIR CONDITIONER IS DRAINING INSIDE THE CAB. THE DRAIN IS NOT PLUGGED.
WHILE TRAVELING THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY PUTS ITSELF INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE THEN LOCKS UP THE BREAKS AND SKIDS ACROSS THE ROAD. AFTER SKIDDING THE VEHICLE'S THROTTLE DOES NOT WORK AND THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO (2) YEARS. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED (70 MPH) ON A LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY FACILITY. IT HAS OCCURRED AT STOP LIGHTS. IN ONE INSTANCE WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE CEASED TO OPERATE AND WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. LAST WEEK WAS NOTIFIED BY THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER THAT THEY WERE CONDUCTING A RECALL FOR THE EXACT REASON THAT HAS CAUSED ME PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. THE MALFUNCTION HAS CAUSED MECHANICAL DAMAGES TO THE VEHICLE'S SUSPENSION, STEERING, TIRES, AND ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE VIBRATES UNCONTROLLABLY AT ANY SPEED OVER 35 MPH. THERE ARE ALSO RATTLING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
MY LEFT PANEL OF THE REAR WINDOW IS SHATTERED AFTER TURNING THE REAR DEFROST ON. CALLED FORD, THEY WILL NOT REPLACE.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A 2011 F-150 FX4. NOTICED THE REAR DEFROST WASN'T COMING ON ALL THE TIME, BUT IT DID COME ON AND IT MUST OF GOTTEN TO HOT...DRIVING TO WORK 11/24/15 GETTING ON THE FREEWAY I HEARD A LOUD NOISE LIKE SOMETHING HIT MY TRUCK ON THE ROOF. WHEN I GOT TO WORK...I LOOKED ON THE ROOF...NO DAMAGE. I NOTICED LATER THAT DAY THAT THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED...IT MUST OF GOTTEN TO HOT FROM THE DEFROSTER. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET...THERE ARE VERY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

PRESSED REAR DEFROST BUTTON. IT FLICKERED A FEW TIMES THAN BAM! THE REAR WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE EXPLODED. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD PICKUP TRUCKS, MODEL YEARS 2010 - 2013.
MY REAR BUMPER IS RUSTING AWAY AROUND THE BACK UP SENSORS. I MENTIONED IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I TAKE MY VEHICLE FOR EVERYTHING SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING. ACCORDING TO THE RUST WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE THERE LITERALLY HAS TO BE A HOLE RUSTED THRU THE VEHICLE FOR THE WARRANTY TO KICK IN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN NOV 2011 AFTER RETURNING FROM IRAQ AND WANTING A TOUGH NO NONSENSE VEHICLE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE 3.5 YEARS AND THE BUMPER IS RUSTING OUT. AT MY HOUSE, THE DRIVEWAY IS SLOPED. I HAD JUST PARKED THE TRUCK, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, BUT LEFT KEY IN ACCESSORY POSITION. MY TWO DAUGHTERS WERE IN BACK SEAT (3 AND 8 YEARS OLD) WATCHING A MOVIE. I WALKED INTO MY GARAGE TO DROP OFF COFFEE, WENT BACK TO THE TRUCK TO RETRIEVE PASTRIES AND THEN WALKED THEM INTO GARAGE. I WAS OUT OF THE TRUCK FOR 3-4 MINUTES. REMOTE STARTED THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING WITH CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH IN AUTO. TRUCK RAN FOR 10 MINUTES. ENTERED MY TRUCK TO LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO SEE THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDSHIELD HAD BEEN SPIDER WEBBED. I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST ON MY 2011 FORD F-150 WITH 45,000 MILES ON IT AND THE R/H SIDE OF THE SLIDING REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT IS STILL IN ONE PIECE BUT THERE ARE SMALL GLASS FRAGMENTS OF GLASS ALL OVER THE BACK SEAT. I AM SURE GLAD MY GIRLFRIENDS GRANDSON WAS NOT PUT IN HIS CARSEAT BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I STOPPED AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY TOOK PICTURES AND SUBMITTED IT OFF TO FORD. I GET A RESPONSE FROM THEM ON THE SAME DAY THAT FORD WILL ONLY COVER 50% OF REPLACEMENT COST. I SEE THEY ALREADY HAVE 2 SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS BACK WINDOW AND SINCE THEY ARE OFFERING AND COVERING 50% THEY SEEM TO BE ADMITTING THEIR IS A PROBLEM. IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING FROM THE 2010'S ALL THE WAY UP TO 2014 F-150S. ITS A PROBLEM AND FORD...

I STARTED MY VEHICLE ON THE MORNING OF FEB 8TH,AND TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER. WITHIN 1-2 MINUTES I HEARD A POP NOISE AND FOUND THE GLASS PANEL BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE (ONE OF 3 GLASS PANELS) HAD SHATTERED. NO OUTSIDE IMPACT,IT JUST SHATTERED.
