The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was recently repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the wrench symbol illuminated. The contact stated that the speedometer went to 0 MPH. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact pulled off the highway turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle then started driving normally however, several miles later the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that when the failure reoccurred, the transmission failed to upshift past the third gear. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle drove normally. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The contact had not returned the vehicle to the dealer who had completed the repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 240,000.
