NHTSA Complaint #11600808 — 2011 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the speed odometer seized, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after the transmission had shifted from 5th gear to sixth gear, the transmissions unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that after the vehicle was restarted, the check engine warning light was off, and the vehicle was reset; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with input shaft speed sensor failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 208,000.
