The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 20 MPH and the vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the molded leadframe had failed. The contact's husband was advised by the mechanic that the manufacturer had a Customer Satisfaction Program: 16N02 - Molded Leadframe Extended Coverage (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.
