NHTSA Complaint #11630613 — 2011 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH and coming to a stop, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear, causing the contact to be propelled forward. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer replaced unknown parts; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, where it was test-driven; however, the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring increasingly while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown recall. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
