I purchased my truck new in Nov 2019. Since then I have had four different occasions where my truck has stalled while driving at low speed or while shifting from drive to reverse. Two of the occasions I was pulling away from a stop and the truck stalled and I was stuck in the middle of the intersection until I put the truck in park and restarted. Luckily there was no cross traffic so there was no danger in this situation but it could have been much worse. The last occasion happened a couple weeks ago when I was moving my truck in my driveway. I shifted to drive and pulled forward then put my truck in reverse. As I put my truck in reverse it immediately stalled. I put it in park and was able to immediately restart it. Complete dashboard and guidance screen went black. Shut vehicle off restarted came back on. Happened again week later came back on by self. Happens on once in a while. Dealer changed radio still happens. Vibration in drive line dealer said it was road force on my tires said I need to replace my tires. I replaced all tires still have Vibration.
The instrument cluster goes black, unable to see anything or scroll through tire pressure, fluid temperatures, speed, odometer, fuel economy, etc. It works intermittently, very distracting to drive when the screen flashes or appears to be trying to reboot. Have been to dealer without successful fix by resetting to factory standards.
While driving,usually slowing from highway speed,all safety lights turn on on the dash board (cross traffic,anti collision,rear parking,ignition,stabilitrak,check engine).Also vehicle loses power and you can not accelerate.Engine runs on (assuming) 4 cylinders as it starts shaking like it’s misfiring.After you pull over and restart the engine all lights clear except check engine.Vehicle than runs normal.Check engine has cleared twice on me.Once after about 30 and second time after about 50 miles.In both instances I was away from home and had to drive back.The other few times was only a few miles away from dealer.Vehicle is currently at the dealer (7th time) with 35775 miles.Multiple tickets have been opened with FCA.In my own research I have found online forums with identical issues.The dealer is at the liss.Their techs can’t figure it out.They have replaced multiple parts but the issue remains. THE CAR IS OFF AND THE RADIO TURNS ON BY ITSELF. WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION THE AIRCONDITIONER WORKS OCCASIONALLY (NOT VERY OFTEN) AND WHEN THE AC GOES OUT THE POWER WINDOWS GO OUT AS WELL. THE WARNING SENSORS ON SIDE DO NOT WORK EITHER.
VEHICLE WARNING DISPLAY ON THE SPEEDOMETER ISN'T WORKING. IT'S A 2019 RAM WITH 45K MILES. IT GOES BLANK OR WON'T COME ON. WITHOUT THIS DISPLAY WORKING PROPERLY, DRIVER CANNOT SEE ANY WARNING SUCH AS, DOOR OPEN, TIRE PRESSURE OR ANY IMPORTANT WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE IS DRIVABLE BUT THE WARNING DASH ON THE SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK.
MARCH 5 2021 CAR STOPPED WORKING ,WOULD NOT TURNOVER AND ALL THE WARN ING LIGHTS WERE ON.WAS NTOWED TO DEALER AND AT FIRST I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIGURE WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM THEN FIGURED IT WAS THE TIPM MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED .ONE MONTH LATER 2 MORE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS .ONE IS THE COOLING LOUVRE SYSTEM NEEDS REPLACEMET AN D A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING WITH STARTER MELTDOWN THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE.RESEARCHING THESE ISSUES I PROBABLY WILL BE HAVING MORE ELECTRIAL PROBLEMS.FIRST ISSUE COST 1000$ AND PARTS ON 2ND AND THIRD ISSUES ARE OVER 900$SO REPAIR WILL PROBABLY @ OVER 2000$.SOMETHING IS REALLY WRONG WITH THESE TRUCKS OR I HAVE A LEMON!!
I WAS DRIVING ON I-65 IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN TRAFFIC, WHEN MY ENGINE ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION MODE SWITCHED FROM RUN TO ACC. THIS CAUSED ME TO LOSE ALL PROPULSION POWER AND I WAS FORCED TO CROSS LANES TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. LUCKILY, I WAS STILL A MILE OR TWO FROM THE UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ZONE, WHICH WOULD HAVE PREVENTED ME FROM BEING ABLE TO PULL OFF ONTO A SHOULDER. BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF WHILE THE TRUCK WAS MOVING, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS PROGRAMMED TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK, BUT BECAUSE I WAS GOING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY (>5MPH ACCORDING TO MY USER MANUAL), IT JUST ALERTED ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS OFF AND THAT I WAS IN ACC MODE. AFTER PARKING THE TRUCK ON THE SHOULDER WITH HAZARDS ON, I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO START...
UCONNECT 8.4C RADIO SCREEN CONTINUALLY RESETS AND OR STAYS BLANK. MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALER AND EVEN SCREEN REPLACEMENT WITH NO AVAIL. SAFETY CONCERN, VERY DISTRACTING AND NO BACK UP CAMERA USE SOMETIMES. OCCURS PRIMARILY IN MOTION, VERY RANDOMLY.
MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS NOT WORKING. THE TRUCK IS A 2019 DODGE RAM. IT GOES IN AND OUT. CAN'T SEE THE MILEAGE OR ANYTHING ELSE.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WENT BLACK. THE PARKING SENSORS DATA DOES NOT DISPLAY. THE MILEAGE DOES NOT DISPLAY. THE TEMPERATURE AND OIL PRESSURE DO NOT DISPLAY.
POWER STEERING FAILURE AT 17000 MILES WHILE STATIONARY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD ONLY RECREATE IT ONCE AND WERE UNABLE TO FIX IT. AFTER 2 WEEKS, THEY HAD ME PICK IT UP. 3 DAYS LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE I WAS BACKING OUT OF THE GAS STATION.
TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS FOR RADIO, CLIMATE, AND ALL OTHER CONTROLS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. ANY AND ALL ELEMENTS OF TOUCHSCREEN WILL POWER ON AND OFF FROM AC TO HEAT TO RADIO STATIONS TO RANDOM PHONE DIALING. ALSO THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AS IF THE GEAR SHIFTER HAS BEEN PLACED IN NEUTRAL. TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND REMOTE START DOESN'T WORK EITHER. LEFT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SEAL NEAR BED OF TRUCK ALSO LEAKS WATER WHEN IT RAINS.
WHILE DRIVING (IN MOTION IN THE CITY) CAR RANDOMLY PUT ITSELF IN NEUTRAL THE DRIVE LIGHT BLINK AND ERROR MESSAGE ON DASH BOARD STATING PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE. WHILE STOPPED CAR AND FOOT ON BRAKE RANDOMLY THE ENGINE REVS AND LUNGES FORWARD.
REAR WINDOW SEAL HAS CRACKS. REAR WINDOW/3RD BRAKE LIGHT LEAKS WATER INTO THE CAB. MIRRORS FOLD BUT WHEN UNFOLDING THEY POP AND KEEP TRYING TO OPEN EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ALL THE WAY OUT ALREADY. THESE ALL HAPPENED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
BACK UP CAMERA HAS GONE OUT. REPEATEDLY WHILE IN REVERSE; ALSO AUXILIARY AND CHARGER STOP WORKING
REAR WINDOW FRAME IS CRACKED AND LEAKING WATER INTO THE CAB AS WELL AS WHERE THE REAR AIRBAG WIRING. THIS WAS NOTICED IN A STATIONARY POSITION.
WATER (RAIN,CAR WASH, ETC) IS LEAKING THROUGH THE REAR POWER SLIDING WINDOW AND INTO THE VEHICLE AND DAMAGING THE INTERIOR (HEADLINER, SEATS). THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY RAM/FCA AND THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED THEM YET. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING. I'M ALSO CONCERNED THAT IF WATER SITS INSIDE OF THE LINER CAN IT CAUSE MOLD TO FORM? ALSO CAN IT SHORT OUT ANY ELECTRICAL TO THE WINDOW? WHEN I NOTICED IT HAPPEN TO ME THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
THE TRUCK HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCING LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN HAPPENING AFTER I STOP THE TRUCK. HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES NOW. MAKES IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND OR MANEUVER TO GET TO A SAFETY SPOT. ALSO WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT LOSES LANE, DEPARTURE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, ASSISTED BRAKING & MOST ELECTRONIC SAFETY FEATURES.

TRACTION LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, PARKING LIGHT, THROTTLE SENSOR LIGHT, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL STAY ON. (HAVE PICTURE AND VIDEO) PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT ALSO STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO RAM DEALERSHIP OCTOBER I BELIEVE AND THEY SAID PCM NEEDED AN UPDATE AND THEY DID THAT. ALSO REPLACED WHOLE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT HOUSING. WELL YESTERDAY DECEMBER 15TH SAME THING HAPPENED AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A WRECK. LIGHTS CAME ON SO I WENT TO BRAKE AND PULL OVER, NOTHING HAPPENED. TRUCK ACTUALLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN FROM 40MPH TO 60MPH. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FIRST THING THIS MORNING AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF FIXING ANY OF THESE ISSUES... WANTED ME TO LEAVE MY TRUCK...
TODAY 11-19-2020 DODGE RAM 1500 VIN#[XXX] IS THE 5TH TIME THAT SHIFTS ON TO NEUTRAL WHEN ON DRIVE POSITION. TOOK IT BACK TO DEMONTROND CHRYSLER/DODGE IN CONROE TEXAS WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK DEALER KEPT THE TRUCK FOR 2 DAYS TO FIND THE PROBLEM [XXX] DIDN'T FIND ANY CODES OR ISSUES THEY RELEASED THE TRUCK BACK TO ME. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE ABOUT THIS TRUCK AFTER TODAY 11.19.2020 WITH MY WIFE AFTER PICKING UP KIDS FROM SCHOOL ALMOST GOT HIT AT INTERSECTION WHEN TRUCK SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. ELECTRICAL- BACKUP CAMERA STAYS ON AFTER PUTTING VEHICLE IN DRIVE. COMPUTER-RADIO-PHONE RESETS ITSELF EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH NO FIX.
CARS STEERING STICKS TO THE LEFT WHEN TURNING LEFT. ALSO, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ACTS UP AT TIMES. MIRRORS START TO TINT, HAZARDS GO ON AND CAN'T TURN OFF, HORN BEEPS RANDOMLY, AND SIDE VEHICLE ALERT COMES ON WHEN NO VEHICLE IS THERE.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SEVERAL TIMES. I'VE DROPPED MY TRUCK OFF AT CROWN DODGE OF FAYETTEVILLE AND WAS TOLD ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THAT'S EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN CARE OF. TODAY 1 NOVEMBER 2020, I'VE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW $200 DURALAST PLATINUM BATTERY AND IT'S STILL BEING DRAINED BY SOME UNKNOWN ISSUE. I RECEIVED SOME HELP OUTSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP AND RECEIVED THE ERROR CODE P1DR3. I TOLD TOLD THAT WAS A DEALERSHIP CODE AND I WOULD HAVE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO GET IT RESOLVED. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME IN A MONTHS TIME I WOULD HAVE TO BE WITHOUT MY VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME THIS IS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING 40-45 MPH AND THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT OFF!

THE MECHANIC INSPECTED SOME UNKNOWN WIRES, CLEANED THE WIRES BUT, WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,900. *DT *TR
WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE DASHBOARD WARNINGS APPEARED AND THE POWER STEERING ABRUPTLY FAILED. BROUGHT INTO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THE PROBLEMS WERE CORRECTED, THESE ISSUES WERE APPARENTLY CASED BY BAD GROUND CONNECTIONS, AS PER DEALER. FOUR DAYS LATER I AGAIN HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS.
AFTER A 350 MILE TRIP I PARKED THE TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY THE NEXT DAY IT WAS DEAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 SEPARATE TIMES. THE DEALER HAS HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS THIS TIME, 5 DAYS THE FIRST TIME AND 5 DAYS THE SECOND TIME. RAM IS DOING NOTHING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. PLEASE HELP.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR AND DISCOVERED THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR THAT THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND GOT OUT THE VEHICLE. THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE CAME TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME ON THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOWING LOT WHERE THEN THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION AND DEEMED IT DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SPUN THREE TIMES BUT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE AGENCY COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO REPAIRED THE COSMETIC DAMAGES. THE CONTACT THEN TURNED ON THE VEHICLE AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AS THE DASHBOARD BECOMES DARK TO THE POINT WHERE THE CONTACT CAN'T SEE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOWS WORKED HOWEVER, THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY AND THE 4 WAY FLASHER WARNING LIGHT THAT ILLUMINATES ON THE VEHICLE OR WORKS PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TRI-STAR MOTORS 2...
VEHICLE FAILS TO START WITHOUT ANY NOTICE OR APPARENT INDICATIONS OF A POTENTIAL ISSUE.I HAD SOMEONE USE A CODE READER AND GOT THE FOLLOWING CODE P1DF3... I CHECKED RAM FORUMS AND THIS IS A COMMON MALFUNCTION. WITHOUT WARNING SOMETHING DRAINS THE BATTERY. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL FIX IT YET.
WHILE BACKING UP TO A TRAILER TO HITCH TO IT I WAS USING THE REVERSE CAMERA IN THE STEREO AND I HEARD A POP AND THE STEREO SHUT OFF ALONG WITH THE SCREEN FOR THE CAMERA. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS STEREO. I JUST HAD THE STEREO REPLACED IN APRIL FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A PROGRAMMING ISSUE WITH THE SYSTEM. WILL BE CONTACTING THE DEALER TO HAVE THIS STEREO CHECKED OUT AGAIN.
DRIVING TRUCK AND CHECK ENGINE / WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING THAT STOP / START SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE SERVICE NEEDED. CONTACTED DEALER AND TOOK IN FOR SERVICE. BY THE TIME I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THE SYSTEM RESET AND WARNING WAS NO LONGER IN SYSTEM LOGS. DEALER STATED THAT SINCE WARNING WAS NOT ACTIVE IN SYSTEM THEY COULD NOT CHECK MESSAGE AND THEREFORE COULD NOT REPAIR. SAME ISSUE OCCURRED 2 WEEKS LATER AND RESOLVED ITSELF AGAIN. I AM NOW DRIVING TRUCK WITH OUT USING THE START / STOP SYSTEM.

AUGUST 19 2020 I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY SAID INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED REPLACED AND ORDER ONE. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE THREE WEEKS TO GET. CALL DEALER SEPT 12 AND THEY HAVE NO IDEAL WHEN THEY WILL GET IT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SINCE AUGUST 19 WITH NO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IT HAS NOT WORK AT ALL. SEE THIS AS SAFETY HAZARD.CAN NOT SEE ALARMS, MILEAGE, OIL PRESSURE, WATER TEMP, OR ANY ALARMS, HAD ALARM YESTERDAY FOR ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO FIGURE IT OUT WAS A SENSOR.
2019 RAM CLASSIC BIG HORN. IT'S BEEN QUITE A JOURNEY WITH THIS TRUCK. FIRST, ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT (FEB 19) I NOTICED THE BED WAS A COUPLE OF INCHES TO THE LEFT OF THE CAB. TURNS OUT, IT WAS THE CAB NEEDING ADJUSTMENT NOT THE BED. DROVE IT FOR A YEAR FINE. 2 MONTHS AGO I ATTEMPTED TO START AND IT WAS DEAD. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD WORK BUT IT WOULD NOT START'NOT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. I DISCONNECTED THE NEG BATTERY POST AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES, HOOKED IT UP AND IT STARTED. DROVE IT FOR A COUPLE DAYS THEN, BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE IT DIED'WHILE MOVING IT JUST DIED. IT WAS ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER FOR SOME WARRENTY PAINT REPAIR SO I FIGURED I'D DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AGAIN AND DRIVE IT OVER. WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR THE ALARM WENT OFF....
WHEN VEHICLE SHIFTS TO REVERSE THE SIDE MIRRORS TILT DOWN TO SHOW PARKING LINES. WHEN THE VEHICLE RETURNS TO DRIVE, THE MIRRORS TILT UP BACK TO THE FACTORY RESET POSITION RATHER THAN THE POSITION PREVIOUSLY SET BY THE VEHICLE OPERATOR. THE DRIVER MAY NOT NOTICE THE MIRRORS ARE MISPLACED UNTIL THEY ARE ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE DRIVER HAS CAN REASONABLY EXPECT THE MIRRORS TO RETURN TO THE PREVIOUS POSITION. ALL OTHER CARS WITH BACKUP MIRROR TILT RETURN TO PRE-SET POSITION. I HAVE CONTACTED RAM AND THEY CLAIM THIS IS THE INTENDED FUNCTION OF THE MIRROR / ELECTRONICS. MY LOCAL DEALER CONFIRMED THAT RAM SAYS THIS IS CORRECT FUNCTION AND THAT THE SAFE RETURN OF MIRRORS TO PRE-SET POSITION IS ONLY AVAILABLE WITH A HIGHER LUXURY TRIM OPTION.
TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AT 40MPH. APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT AND THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD STARTED GOING OFF (ALL OF THEM). THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES, BLINKS DIDN'T WORK, HAZARDS DIDN'T WORK, THE RPM AND MPH GAUGES KEPT GOING UP AND DOWN. THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK SO I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED 5 MINUTES AND STARTED IT UP AGAIN. SAME THING HAPPENED. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND WAITED 10 MINUTES, STARTED IT BACK UP AND THIS TIME ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I MADE IT HOME 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY AVAILABLE, THE DEALER CAME AND PICKED UP THE TRUCK. IT HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE WEEK. THE CALLED THE OTHER DAY AND SAID SOMETHING IS WRONG, THEY...
STEREO CAN BE TURNED ON WITHOUT THE KEY FOB OR PRESSING THE IGNITION BUTTON CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DRAIN DEAD
THE DASH LIGHTS GO OUT AND THIS MAKES THE INSTRUMENT PANEL VERY HARD TO SEE, EVEN WHEN BACKING THE CAMERA ALSO GOES DARK, THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHEN NOT IN MOTION. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT ALWAYS ENGAGE WHEN THE CRUISE IS ON. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THE BACK UP CAMERA WHEN BACKING. IN MOTION. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME THING IT HAPPENS OFF AND ON WHEN IN THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PICTURES AS I AM USUALLY DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENS.
I WOULD HAVE SELECTED OTHER ISSUES ABOVE BUT IT ONLY ALLOWS THREE. DRIVING WITH FAMILY ON VACATION WHEN ALL ELECTRICAL ON DASH STARTING GOING CRAZY. EVERY LIGHT ON DASH WAS FLASHING, GAUGES WERE BOUNCING ALL OVER, HAZARDS WOULDN'T TURN ON, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, LOSS OF BRAKES, WIPERS SPED UP, TRANSMISSION TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS, AIRBAG LIGHTS WERE ON, TRANSMISSION SLAMMED IN TO PARK ONCE VEHICLE WAS UNDER 5 MPH, AND SHUT ITSELF OFF. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO YORK CHRYSLER IN CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN. THIS WAS ON THURSDAY JULY 30. I HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO BOSAK MOTORS IN MERRILLVILLE, IN ON FRIDAY JULY 24 DUE TO SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE. I MANAGED TO VIDEOTAPE THE ISSUE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. I ALSO LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND A COUPLE VIDEOS OF OTHER RAM 1500 DOING THE SAME THING.
DURING SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS USUALLY FROM 2 GEAR TO 1ST GEAR AND SURGES FORWARD. MANY TIMES DURING THIS SURGE THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL AND THE SCREEN INSTRUCTS ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND THEN BACK IN TO DRIVE. IT MAKES IT DANGEROUS IF THERE IS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE TRUCK OFTEN SURGES WHEN STOPPING AND POPS OUT OF GEAR AT ONCE A MONTH. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ADDRESSED BY UPDATING DRIVE TRAIN SOFTWARE. SINCE REPAIR IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND I TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY STATE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE OR KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.
THE INFORMATION SYSTEM IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DOES NOT WORK OR WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A $1400.00 REPAIR BUT THE SYSTEM STARTED WORKING AGAIN WHEN THE MECHANIC BROUGHT THE TRUCK AROUND FOR ME TO LEAVE. IT HAS WORKED OFF AND ON SINCE THEN. IT'S A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND NO GUARANTEE IT WILL NOT FAIL AGAIN. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO PATTERN OF WHEN THE INFORMATION SYSTEM WILL QUIT.
WHILE DRIVING SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN TURN COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. WHILE STILL IN DRIVE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD EVERYTHING WAS STILL ON A.C. SHUT OFF BUT POWER WAS STILL ON.
AFTER REMOTE STARTING THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES, I GOT IN THE TRUCK AND HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON AND REVERSED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. AS I BACKED OUT ON TO THE STREET, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR SHIFTED ITSELF BACK TO PARK. I STARTED IT AGAIN AND AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS, THE CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES. FINALLY IT STAYED ON AND I DROVE 6 MILES TO WORK. WHEN I GOT TO WORK, I HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF AND IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE CAR TURNED OFF BY ITSELF. I STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT TURNED OFF AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. AFTER A COUPLE MORE TIMES IT FINALLY IT STAYED ON FOR LONGER THAN A FEW SECONDS BUT WOULD NOT TURN OFF WITH THE START STOP BUTTON. I HAD IT TOWED...
LEAK IN CEILING HEAD LINER WET AND DISCOLORING RADIO SCREEN DIED TWICE. HAS SHIFTING PROBLEM FROM 1ST TO SECOND SOMETIMES WANT MY OLD TRUCK BACK PLEASE
I WAS DRIVING ON I94 EASTBOUND HIGHWAY, I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC THEN ACCELERATED AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AT FULL DOWNPOWER. I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE PEDAL STAYED ON THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK KEPT ACCELERATING. I GOT UP TO 105MPH IN NO TIME AT ALL, THEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I POSSIBLY COULD SO I DIDN'T HIT THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME. THIS SLOWED ME DOWN TO ABOUT 60MPH SLOWING THE TRUCK DOWN ENOUGH TO MOVE FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE TO THE FAR RIGHT SHOULDER, WITH THE TRUCK STILL AT 5K PLUS RPMS, I THEN WAS ABLE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL USING THE SHIFTER KNOB. THE VEHICLE THEN DISPLAYED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. DURING THIS WHOLE TIME THE ACCELERATOR WAS ON THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK WAS TRYING...
1) ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING 70 MILES PER HOUR 2) NOB SHIFTER SET ON DRIVE BUT DOES NOT DRIVE UNTIL IT FEELS LIKE SO, MAY TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO AND VEHICLE LUNCHES 3)KEYS DO NOT OPEN, LOCK, OR TURN VEHICLE ON 4) BACK UP SENSOR'S GO OFF AND VEHICLE AUTO BRAKES WITH NOTHING BEHIND OR IN FRONT OF IT 5) REAR CAMERA WILL TURN ON AND WILL NEVER SHUT OFF EVEN AFTER 2 HOURS OF DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY 6) TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR NOT WORKING, ALL FOUR
IN OCTOBER 2019, THE UCONNECT SYSTEM IN MY 2019 RAM 1500 BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. IT STARTED WITH GPS COORDINATES BEING MISALIGNED TO MY CURRENT LOCATION, BUT QUICKLY PROGRESSED TO MALFUNCTIONING IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE SYSTEM. ON DECEMBER 30, 2019, THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FAILED, RENDERING A BLACK SCREEN AND NO ABILITY TO CONTROL THE CRITICAL FUNCTIONS IN THE VEHICLE (MAINTENANCE, LIGHTING, CLIMATE, OR SAFETY CAMERAS). WITHOUT THE UCONNECT SYSTEM, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO MODIFY ANY OF THE SETTING FOR THE VEHICLE.
2019 RAM WITH 12" SCREEN DEVELOPED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH 5100 MILES. THE SCREEN AND OTHER ELECTRICAL ITEMS WILL WORK FINE IN THE ACCESSORY MODE BUT AS SOON AS YOU START THE VEHICLE THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AND A LOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES BEGIN. THE DEFROSTER GOES ON HIGH, THE SEAT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GO FORWARD, THE FRONT WINDOWS DO NOT WORK AND THE BLIND SPOT SENSOR WILL NOT WORK. WITH SCREEN OUT YOU HAVE NO BACKUP CAMERA AND LOSING THE BLIND SPOT ALSO CAUSES SERIOUS RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. FIRST DEALER THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO COULD NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER DEALER AND HOPE THAT THEY CAN RESOLVE THESE ISSUES. I NOTICED ONLINE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE UNCONNECT AND SIRIUS RADIO BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH MY PROBLEM.
MY LEFT REAR LED TURN SIGNAL. WARNING LIGHT ON MY DASH CAME ON. I INVESTIGATED THE PROBLEM AND THOUGHT I WOULD TRY TO REPAIR THE TAIL LIGHT. I COULDN'T FIX IT DUE TO TOO MUCH ELECTRONICS INVOLVED SO I RE ASSEMBLED THE TAIL LIGHT AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE MY DEALER. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN AND WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY WAS VOIDED BECAUSE I TOOK IT APART TO SEE IF I COULD REPAIR THE LIGHT. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. THE REASON I AM WRITING IS THAT THE TAILLIGHT FAILED. WHY? IT WAS NEVER INVESTIGATED, ONLY TOLD ME I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. HOWEVER IF THE LIGHT FAILED ON MY TRUCK, WHY?
