1The roller valve on the gas tank 2Roller valve is stuck in the closed position, causing a hazard when trying to refill gas tank. 3Dealer wrote up a repair sheet, cost of $1600.00+ . I was told they had other trucks in with the same problem and only way to fix is replacing the whole gas tank. 4No it has not been inspected, all my info is from employees that write up the work order.. 5Have been having this problem since August 2025. 6 I feel this is a safety item that should be covered by the manufacturer just like an air bag or any other vehicle safety device. It is a very poor design in its self that makes it a hazard.
I bought this truck 11/13/2025 and it has been in the shop since I bought it. It’s been “fixed” 4 times, including replacing the fuel pump. The vehicle is still stalling out and the same check engine code po62A keeps popping up. The engine light has popped up right after I’ve picked it up from the mechanic every time. It’s been to 3 different mechanics and no one can seem to fix the issue. It has become unsafe for me to drive. The dealership is no longer returner my calls or helping with these issues. I’m stuck paying off a vehicle that isn’t properly running.
Cannot put gas in tank without the gas pump continuously shutting off the flow. Was told by Dodge technicians that it was a faulty roll-over valve ( believe this is a safety item ) in the gas tank. Was told the only way to fix it is to replace the gas tank. They have had other dodge trucks in for the same problem. Being this is a safety item ( keeps gas from spilling out during a roll-over accident) I would think there should be a recall to repair. If possible could you also give me information on how to contact Dodge headquarters to register a complaint. This is a 1600.00 fix that I feel I should not be held responsible for. There are no warning lights accompanying this. Techs at JOHNSONS AND SONS dodge dealer in Wis. Rapids, WI. have recommended replacement to fix the problem. Thanks in advance...
Problem Description: Beginning in early 2025, the vehicle started experiencing intermittent electrical malfunctions that cause it to lose power unexpectedly while driving. The issue occurs without warning, creating a significant safety hazard for both the driver and other motorists. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Ram service center on four separate occasions (February 2025, July 2025, September 2025, and October 2025), but the problem has not been resolved. Each time, the service center has been unable to identify or repair the root cause. The vehicle is still under an active Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan (Account#[XXX]), and all service has been performed at Commonwealth Dodge in Louisville, Kentucky. Despite these multiple repair attempts, the truck continues to lose power intermittently, making it unreliable and unsafe to operate. VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 54,000 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
MGU (alternator) has went out on my truck and multiple dealerships have stated they can’t fix it due to parts not available. Molar can’t get the part and now I’m stuck with no vehicle. The dealership told me they have multiple people waiting for the same part and that the MGU is faulty and fails on these trucks. My wife was taking my kids to school and they were stranded on the side of the road because my truck give a battery low warning and then died. It should be illegal for ram to continue to sell these vehicles and refuse to fix them. I can’t even buy a used part to fix it because the dealership won’t program and install a used part.
After coming to a rolling stop and making a right, I would attempt to accelerate. The vehicle would then throw itself out of gear and I could not accelerate. A message would appear on the dash "Shift to P then Desired Gear." The problem would not be fixed until the vehicle was put in park, then back into drive. I took the vehicle to RAM and they could not replicate the issue, but it would happen to me regularly (1-2 times a month at random). I told this to RAM Dealership and RAM Cares, but nobody seemed bothered that it could get people killed. The problem did not seem to get fixed until I took apart the throttle body and cleaned it out by hand. Since then, I had not had an issue.

04.22.25- back to back stalls on left hand turns within a 1 mile trip First stall landed me in a ditch less than foot from an oak tree. Coasted a bit before a sudden stop. Second stall allowed me to make it to side street before it abruptly stopped. Prior drive previous day had no issues and no warning lights.
Engine failure after fuel pump recall replacement(37,500 miles). My fuel pump had a mandatory recall. I drove my truck in and everything was running perfect. I drove the truck less than 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement recal and it started to make nocking sounds and the gas was lagging , not accelerating normal. The gears were not shifting normal but rather jerking in and out of gears at different RPM's. I was on the highway in CA and I was scared that I was gonna hit someone or be hit myself from the gas lag and jerky shifting. I drove back into the dealership again 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement. I was charged $288 dollars for them to tell me I needed a new engine. No engine lights or warnings. Now 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement and 2 months out of warranty they wanted...
This is the second random stall event for this vehicle. 2019 Ram 1500 with 33,300 miles. Yesterday, 4 /18/25, while taking a left turn from a parking lot at low speed, the vehicle lost all power. I was able to coast to the side of the street. Put the vehicle in park, waited approximately 1 minute, vehicle restarted and seemed to run fine. The first time it stalled it was towed to the dealer and since they could find no stored faults, there was nothing they could do.
It is 4-13-2025, current milage 40,000. 2019 Ram 1500 classic Hemi 5.7 Bighorn 4x4 crew cab short bed. I have had an ongoing problem with fuel refilling for over a year and after 26,000 miles. I contacted Gary Barbera in Phila PA with out any info if this will be still under warranty. Refilling less than 0.5 gal and the pump shuts off. No codes, No check engine light. This has been a headache with no answer. I found a service bulletin to adjust the fill neck and that was unsuccessful. Everything online is leaning to roll over valve and the dealership wont touch it or explain if warranty still applies.
While taking a right turn into a busy intersection, vehicle lost all power and dash lights lit up indicating to put the vehicle in park. I put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart it. The vehicle starter cranked but did not start. I was able to roll the truck back by using the manual transmission release to get out of traffic. I disconnected the battery and waited approximately 5 minutes, reconnected battery, vehicle would start momentarily then stall. Had vehicle towed to dealership where they were able to start it and found no issue.
While fueling the tank the pumps stops fueling voluntarily, the tank is not full it gives a hard time. Currently about 75,000 miles Longrom 2019
Every time I fill up with gas, the pump stops every $2 or I put in. It gurgles and acts like the tank is full. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME I FILL UP. TAKE ME 20 min to get gas.
Fuel tank roll over valve gets stuck closed especially in cold weather conditions causing the vehicle to be unable to take fuel into the tank. Gas pumps keeps clicking off and fuel comes out of the filler neck onto the floor, multiple ram owners complaining of same problem, multiple forums online complaining of issue, many owners have been sticking a wire or pipe down the filler neck in order to disengage the closed roll over valve but issue persist shorty after. Potential fire hazard
The AC was stuck on hot and would not defrost. Dealership said the blend actuator door needed replacement. Unfortunately this cost is 1700. In addition to this, the fuel line or gas tank keep clicking and stopping when trying to fill. This has been intermittent since we purchased vehicle. In addition, our infotainment center was hacked, someone was changing our settings repeatedly. Dealership refused to fix
When adding fuel the fuel nozzle constantly shut off making fueling the vehicle difficult. When fueling the nozzle has to be held almost to the top of the fuel neck to allow fuel in slowly. By having to fuel the truck like this causes the fuel nozzle to not shut off when the tank is full and fuel leaks all over the ground.
I was driving a new truck i had purchased from a dodge dealer , i was rear-ended at highway speed, the truck lost control and went off road hitting a earthen burm head on, flipped and came to rest on the roof. The traction control didn't work, the front impact airbags did not deploy and the engine was still running while the truck was upside-down Download of the trucks ECM shows the srs seat position sensor was not configured from the factory. The factory did issue a recall identifying the seat position sensors as a component needed for the airbags to function I suffered a concussion ,neck injuries, both knees needed surgery 1 surgery on the left 3 on the right i am scheduled for a knee replacement and temporary paralysis My wife suffered a severed ACL and had to have it replaced
2019 Doge ram 1500 quad cab- the engine completely and immediately froze up and locked all tires in the middle of a busy 2 lane street- sounded like only 2 of the 8 pistons were barely firing, was told my engine was "toast-it sucked a valve"! I am an old school mechanic so I take care of every aspect of my truck regularly by professional mechanics- how can a truck not even 5 yrs old with payments still owed have so many issues and now if completely trash? In addition, I have had computer issues, rear camera issues, the side mirror just fell off on its own.....so many issues with this model. How can a dealership and a manufacturer legally sell such a piece of junk? Is there any recourse? Law suit- class action or individual ? I am deseperate for help- I was nearly killed on this street when...
Hello, I was driving on Highway 99 three days ago and my truck came to an abrupt halt after making some horrible engine noises. I hadn’t been driving my truck because it won’t pass smog due to check engine light on. I had taken it to a dealer in Lodi Dodge Dealer and they Did one recall on the fuel injector pump. I’m still not positive. What happened but I strongly believe after Research that the magnetic strip for cam timing failed. I’m trying to find an independent Agency that looks into things like this as I do not trust the dealer for a couple reasons. Not saying it here. Anyway, if you have any idea how I should move forward after that frightening experience losing all power to my truck, the dash turned red, no oil pressure no anything is what it was saying. I was able to get...
Fuel filler does not allow fuel to enter at normal rate, causes pump to constantly kick off, annoying at first but now has become a safety hazard as some pumps now make fuel spit back out when filling, no warning lamps, took it to the dealer said it is a common issue, bad rollover valve needs a new tank, would not warranty the item because even though the truck has a decal under the hood stating that it California emissions, it does not have a California emission sales code.
Vehicle has 23,400 miles. When filling fuel tank, pump shuts off quickly without filling tank and spills gas back out. Dealer say valve in tank is problem and need to replace tank at cost of $3k. No check engine warning lights on dash.

2019 RAM 1500 50,000 miles. About 2 months ago while filling my gas tank, the pump started clicking every .50 cents or so. Multiple gas stations and different pumps tried, the problem persisted. Only with very light pressure, I could get it to fuel about $10.00 before stopping. It would take upward of 20 minutes or more to fill about a 1/2 tank. Heading into the winter months, I knew this would become an issue with cold temps coming. I took it to the dealership and was told I needed to have the fuel tank replaced. Due to EVP valves failing. The fuel tanks were back ordered and not covered under warranty. 2 months and $1400.00 later I have a new working fuel tank. How could a part this expensive and with no real wear and tear not be covered under warranty?
at 30,000 MILES nothing Significant YET. However TWO NHSTA Recalls Have Been Issued the first Now Going on 2 Years. BOTH Ram & the Dealer have been Contacted, the Dealer 3 Times with NO Remedy being Available. Stellantis/RAM seems to NOT CARE, this being Disturbing and Annoying. Unacceptable.
I have had my Dodge Ram 1500 in the shop from November 2022 through September 2023 five different times for defective camshafts vvt solenoids oil control valves. Issues still persist due to faulty machined parts from the manufacturer.
When driving the vehicle on the roadway, the vehicle will turn off the engine and will not allow you to accelerate and will flash a message to put the car in park. When you pull on the side of the road and place the vehicle in park you can then restart the engine. Once the engine is on and you try to put the vehicle in drive the engine will turn off again and request that you put the vehicle in park. It does this over and over for about 5-6 times until it does eventually allow the vehicle to stay in Drive and you can start moving down the road. Once you are driving in the road way it will repeat the process again. During this process there are no warning lights or messages being displayed other than "place the vehicle in park". This is extremely dangerous especially if...
Hard to fuel the vehicle. Takes 15 minutes or more to fill the gas tank. Ram's fix is to replace the gas tank on a 4 year old truck with under 60,000 miles. Filling up using a funnel at a gas station is not safe for me or other drivers. The local dealer said the cost would about $2000. A service notice was issued over a year ago.
There is an issue with putting gas into this truck. Seems there is a defect in the filler tube which Ram will not at this point recognize
I have an oil cooler leak, a radiator leaking coolant , transmission running high. I have 110k miles on my truck and do routine maintenance. I’m worried about an engine fire or cracked block soon.
Due to a known but unaddressed defect in the steep-angled fuel filler neck, it’s almost impossible to fill my tank with gas because the defect causes the gas pump to stop the flow of gasoline every few seconds. Also, the gas pump handle can sometimes become stuck while trying to refill the truck. This cause a very dangerous situation in trying to remove the stuck handle due to the possibility of creating a spark which could ignite the gasoline vapors from trying to forcefully dislodge the pump handle. The NHTSA, to my knowledge, has not requested the manufacturer to initiate a recall to replace the defective part. This problem has been widely discussed online in different forums. My truck has been at the dealership all week and the service department just called me saying I need to order a new fuel tank at the cost of $1925.00!
When Filling the truck up with fuel, after 1-2 gallons the pump would shut off and I would have to repeat this process to fill up my 32-gallon tank. When I took it to the mechanic, it was found that the tank and filler neck was not properly preventing the pressure, causing the pump to think the tank was full and shut off. By the time we figured out the issue Stellantis had already developed an updated tank and filler neck and were putting it into their new trucks, but they never informed the public of the error nor issued any kind of recall to fix the existing issue.
Having trouble putting fuel into the tank. While attempting the refuel the vehicle the nozzle will constantly shut off and sometimes fuel will pour out of the filler neck onto the ground. I have to VERY slowly fill up the tank. Not sure if this is related but the fuel nozzle does not fit into the neck properly. Thank you
My 2019 Ram 1500 will not take more than a few ounces of fuel at a time. It takes well over a half hour to refuel my tank. The pump constantly shuts off and the tank constantly spits gasoline back at me when trying to refuel, it is not safe to have gasoline spilled on you. I have a toddler, and I do not want her exposed to the fumes after I am doused with gasoline trying to refill my Ram 1500. No warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard. I have scheduled an appointment for a dealer to examine the issue.
Truck had check engine light and sever loss of power Intermittently. Brought to dealer to have it checked. Dealer said they cannot clear the code or fix the issue as the recall in effect does not have the parts out to fix. Recall z46 has been in effect since June of 22 and there is still no solution. I called manufacturer to ask about it and they all they said was quote "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do about it".
Fuel pump failure resulted in the loss of propulsion on the Highway.
2019 Ram Ecodiesel 3.0. I was Driving back to work on Easter Sunday 2023 after visiting family. It was a 5 hour trip, I was halfway through when the engine started making a loud banging sound. I pulled over & the engine died and would not turn over. I am sure the engine threw a rod, two other driver stopped & asked if everything was ok because they could hear the engine noise from their cars when it happened. There were no check engine lights or messages before or during the engine failing. I had to get a tow truck & tow it to the nearest dealer. It has been at the dealer for 2 weeks, they still have not diagnosed a problem but said if it is the engine it is on backorder & they don't know when it will be fixed & they refuse to give me a...
Problem refueling. nozzle/pump keeps shutting off after every 3-5 seconds causing gas to splash back. Truck was fine until 2022 problem getting worse.
Rear window seal is leaking which cracked the window frame allowing water to enter behind rear seat leaking onto the wireless control Module making it in operable. The vehicle would not start. This will become a safety issue when driving down the highway/local areas and you loose the module it shuts down the car no power at all. Power steering goes down breaks become more difficult to push. Chrysler knows about the leak but will not do anything. The suggested repair is to replace the rear window at $1600.00 and the Wireless Control Module. My vehicle had 26k miles on it and warranty ran out. I do have an extended Warranty but because the rear window was leaking the wireless control Module is not covered.
We bought this truck used around September of last year and it took a couple of months to start having issues. First, when we would turn the truck on and it would crank, we would hear an occasional knock in the rear end. Like something being reemed out. Recently, one two separate occasions, two separate days, we were going to town and all of a sudden the A/C stopped working and extremely hot air started blowing through the vents and we couldn't turn it off or anything. The knobs to turn off the AC didn't turn it off. The only solution was to pull over on the side of the road and kill the truck and then crank it again. I can only imagine if someone else has this truck and a baby or even elderly was sitting in the vehicle and it changed over like this, it would've suffocated...
Engine stopped running while driving on an active road due to fuel pump failures (only 26,000 miles). Truck will not start any longer and fuel pumps are on national back order.
While under warranty brought my vehicle to the dealer because I could not pump gas. The pump would continue to click off while fueling. Dealer told me that it may be the gas station that I'm going to and that they could not replicate the problem. Fast forward 6 months, the vehicle is now out of warranty and the problem has continued to the point where I can't put any fuel in. Brought it to another dealer and they said I need a new fuel pump and a new fuel tank at at cost of $2500. This should have been covered under the warranty but the first dealer was less than honest. I'm sure they knew what the issue was since there are numerous complaints similar to mine on this site. NHTSA should investigate and/or open a recall because RAM won't. This fuel issue isn't just related to the 2019...
Our defrost system on windshield is only working on one side. First things first, the Vin number and the picture listed does not match our vehicle so I will be calling the the safety line to get it fixed. When googling the Dodge recalls. It popped up as a recall but I guess it’s not on our vin number dodge yet? Then the truck automatically started smelling like antifreeze. When driving it sometimes loses power to the gas pedal and starts to slow down! The back windshield started leaking the same day as the defrost malfunction. There is no dash signal when there’s low air in tires….. And depending on speed of the dodge started making like dying whale moaning sounds. When turning the truck off, it stops for a minute, but then it starts again. This truck only has 50,000 miles on it and it should not be tearing...
When refueling, the fuel vapor recovery system causes the gas pump to shut off after only a couple seconds of pumping fuel. This happens continually while attempting to refuel. It takes 20-25 minutes to refill the tank. The dealership says they have to replace the whole fuel tank to fix this issue at a cost of over $1,800.
Purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 used, with 43k miles earlier this year. Twice, the trucks computer, and fuel gage said I had more then a quarter tank let in fuel. Twice, I have run completely out of gas, stalling the truck, and left no way to accelerate. Almost causing an accident.
2019 ram classic problem filling gas tank
Difficulties fueling vehicle. Gas pump consistently shuts off after a few (2-3) seconds of pumping gas. Bought vehicle used, have filled up 3 times in 1 month and have had issues with 2 of the full ups.
The RAM 1500 Bighorn cannot take more than mere ounces of unleaded gasoline before the nozzle auto shuts off. It does not matter how fast gas comes out of the nozzle; it can take up to an hour to fill from empty to full going at .1 gallon every 5 seconds. When brought into the RAM dealership, the techs stated this is a well known and documented issue that a lot of RAM owners are seeing, but there has not been a recall on it. There are no warnings for this at all and it poses a threat to any owner that fills their tank with a nozzle that does not have an auto shutoff or with a gas can as fuel backfills and spills out of the truck posing a fire hazard.
The problem I’m having it does not let me add fuel into the tank. Without cutting off fifty times when I
Timing chain cover leaking oil for 2nd time with only 32,000 miles on the vehicle. Ram dealer repaired once already in 2022. Loosing antifreeze but dealer says the vehicle is not. Service def system comes on at random and says see dealer. While this is happening it does a count down on the temperature gauge in the dash and check engine light comes on. Dealer say they can’t find anything wrong.
