I bought this vehicle exactly 1 year ago back in June from The BMW dealership in Arlington, Texas Under the assumption that there was nothing wrong with it Mechanically. The dealership Lied to me because not even a week later. I had to take it to a Firestone to see what was wrong with it. And they said that there was coolant loss, They did do a pressure track and said at the time it was not the gasket period I have taken it to other mechanics since then trying to fix what they said the issue was but there has been a loss of coolant in that vehicle and we don't know where it's going period period I don't know what to do because there was a recall on it. From what I searched on the internet long ago? But it is no longer available. And that's unfortunate for...
On August 19 2023 I brought my 2014 Ford Escape SE to an auto repair shop, because the engine temperature went up. The repair shop first told me that the coolant resevoir and the hose was leaking. After that was fixed. The repair shop could not start the car it overheated. The repair shop said that the head gasket blew and the engine was done. I paid almost 11000 dollars for this car with 87000 miles on it. The only car I have. I do not know what to do with this situation. I found out that the 2014 Escape models is a problem with coolant leaking into the engine. Now im out of a car and do not know what to do.
I own a 2014 Ford Escape Eco boost 2.0 liter. Vehicle started losing coolant but no visible leak. Took car to be diagnosed at a ford dealership where they told me vehicle was fine and passed a pressure test. Less than 600 miles later the vehicle is overheating, smoking from engine and tail pipe, even for an extended time after vehicle is off. I have video of vehicle smoking while engine off. Now I am told it is a head gasket issue and repair is over $7k. This is a known issue that Ford refuses to acknowledge and issue a recall. There's been nurmerus of people whom have experienced exact issue and are joining a class action lawsuit. If NHTSA doesn't do their part to put this ford 1.6-2.0 liter on a recall, then the wrong doing continues and should be held accountable as well. There have been cases where...
Car started having smoke out of tail pipe, been having to fill anti freeze once a month in to, vehicle , and has started misfiring not sure . Apparently antifreeze is leaking in to engine . May 2023 is when we have started having issues with anti freeze The consumer wanted to add that the vehicle also stalled out in traffic during a separate incident.
The car is no longer drivable. I have an earlier reference number 11526542. When I called at that time I was unaware of the actual problem. In 2019 I had taken the car to Future Ford for a coolant problem. They stated in paper work there was no leak in the coolant but more coolant needed to be added. I return to have oil changed and ask them to add coolant. They refused. I went to Green Valley Tire and brake and they refused. Thought that was weird. Went to Auto Zone Folsom and bought coolant and added myself. Future Ford still stating no problem. I had purchased a 7 year waranty on the car and a plan were they did all the service. The car was only serviced by Ford Dealer. I have just recently learned that there is an issue with the Ford 2014 Escape Eco Boost System....
Motor coolant went into engine cylinders and over heats and now my vehicle won't run.
I had bought my 2014 escape less then four years ago. Back in June 2023 I had my dashboard light up with engine overheating pull over safely while I was driving. I pulled my car over as best as I could and saw my coolant was low. I was able to drive the five miles or so home after refilling the coolant. The coolant was again empty when I got home. The dealership checked and said no leaks or anything but I still have to refill my coolant every two days. From researching there are many issues with ford escape and coolant leaking. I am too scared to even drive it especially with my family in it knowing this leak may cause a fire or something
The car began making noise an did not want to shift. After getting the vehicle into drive, the car stopped moving while driving in heavy traffic.
The car accelerates very choppy. I’ve also been getting a warning saying “ENGINE FAULT, SERVICE NOW.” I’m not sure what is wrong with it, it still drives as of right now and there is no recall for me to get it fixed.
Engine coolant is coming out of coolant reservoir! Car is smoking and their are no lights on dash untill it is low. If idle with auto starting it will over heat and car can't be started.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 4-5 MPH before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to reverse but failed to move further. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that several days later there was a clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic who stated that the sway bar had loosened. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the check engine warning then became illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with cam shaft failure. The spark plugs were replaced; however, the vehicle continued to sputter while starting and was leaking coolant and oil onto the cam shaft causing the head gasket to...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified and provided the contact with a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Engine Coolant leak that causes over heating in car.
When driving vehicle on highway it slows down then have to push on gas pedal to exelarate like it sputters then shuts off. Dashboard says Engine Failure park vehicle immediately very frustrating!! I’m about to file a lawsuit if this doesn’t get taken care of!
The Escape in question has a reoccurring issue with the canister purge valve causing gas tank burping and rough engine idle. Mechanic replaced said item a couple of years ago and the problem has reoccured. There is a recall for a Ford Focus with the same year as This Ford Escape 2014. Should not this vehicle be repaired in the same manner by the dealer as the Ford Focus Recall? My mechanic also noted there is a TSB for this Ford Escape 2014 acknowledging Ford has updated the parts for repair to solve the know canister purge valve issue. Replacing the parts for a second time seems unfair and costing twice as much to resolve the same issue with an updated part. Frustrated 🥴 Update: Since composing the above information the cars condition has become more in need of repair. The 2014 Ford Escape is idling rougher, the gas tank...

The approximate mileage at the time of the failure was 45,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
2014 Ford Escape titanium that has been having issues with coolant leaks and overheating. The first instance was in Dec 2022. The vehicle stalled while it was being driven at about 25-30 mph. The vehicle said that the coolant levels were low and the cars Engine heat level shot up. Checked the coolant level and it was full as I recently changed the oil and topped everything off. I towed it to Cortese Ford dealership in Henrietta and a appointment was set for about 4 days later. They said the issue was that the car was leaking coolant somewhere but they can’t find where, so our options were A.) use a pump process where they would pump air into the coolant system and see where the leak is or B.) reroute the entire coolant system and see if that resolves the issue. So I went with option B because it...
On May 27, 2023, I took my Ford Escape SE to dealership for service (mileage: 99742). I had Works Synthetic Oil Change, Mutli-point inspection, rotation of tires, coolant system cleaning, brake systems fluid exchange, spark plugs replaced, air filter replaced. Diagnostic for A/C. Total cost: $1005.90. Results from service: (1) Emergency flasher or hazard light button does not work. $199.95 Diagnostic fee to repair flasher/hazard light button. Due to cost of Diagnostic fee, repair to Emergency flasher or hazard light button was not conducted. (2) AC not working. Diagnostic Fee $199.95. AC leakage. While driving down the road a warning pops up on the dash that says "High Engine Temperatures. Please Stop Safely" Had to have the car towed because it got stuck in Limp Mode and would not drive. Had the codes read and it comes up with code P1299 which says Cylinder Head Overtemperature Protection Active. Car stays in Limp Mode and is undriveable until code is cleared with a code reader. Happens several times over and over again within a 30 minute drive.
While driving 30 minutes home from work, High Engine Temperature Warning popped up and stuck car in Limp Mode 20+ times. Had to use a Code Reader to clear the code P1299 that says Cylinder Head Overtemperature Protection Active in order to get car to drive home. Meanwhile it was leaking coolant, car went thru 1.5 gallons of coolant during that time frame.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle overheated, with the engine overheated message displayed. The low coolant warning light came on a few times, top off coolant and took car to dealer for service and diagnosis. The service performed test and did not find leaks or damage. After a few times with not findings the engine light came on while driving and the vehicle had misfire. Contacted the dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed with coolant into the engine cylinders witch caused the misfire. According to service the engine has to be replaced and the car is not drivable. Based on research, this is a problem many costumers had to deal with.

It seems like my transmission kicked out on me in the middle of a busy intersection. Now my car is stuck at work while I figure out where to take it and how to pay for transmission repairs.
I see there was a previous recall on the ford smaller eco boost engines. I am having the same issues with coolant leaks and head gasket. Not only me but hundreds of other owners have having the same exact issue of coolant leaking and head gasket going bad.
Car is burning and leaking coolant dude to faulty head gasket and engine over heating. Engine also stalls out when slowing down and shuts off. I see multiple people are having the same issues. This has been a on going thing I took it to the shop to have coolant leak fixed and it still has reoccurred.

Car was taken to shop and advised there where engine issues. Took it to an authorized dealer and was advised it was a heating hose issue. Took it back in and after 2 weeks we were told it needed an engine. The car is constantly leaking coolant which has spilled onto the engine and could cause a fire while driving. Ford will not help with any repairs. Vehicle has been in the shop for 5 months

This is ongoing issue that Ford is aware of, has been addresses by previous recall related to thermostat sensor. However this does not fix the issue that the car over heats loses all coolant automatically shuts down when driving. This car has been been serviced beginning in 2019 to now with the same problem. Yes all receipts, mileage diagnosis etc have been maintained. I have had hoses replaced 3 times am now on the 4th time (Just 6 weeks later). Car overheated on I294 tristate had to be towed 30 miles December 2022. Currently have my 2nd open case with FORD as they know the ECO boost is a major cause and are facing several class action lawsuits they disregard the fact that someone will be killed by their irresponsible disregard of the known problem. Well into the thousands to address a bandaid and not fix the root cause of...

I was driving on I95 southbound with my 3.5 month old daughter when my cars engine failed, my brakes and acceleration failed, and my car started being engulfed in smoke. I had to veer off of I95 as far as I could with my breaks or gas working. Within 2 minutes my car was in complete flames. I was able to get my daughter and I out in time but everything in the car was demolished. Ford has refused to reimburse for any value of the car as well as any value of the items that were in the car. The value of the items in the car totaled more than $5,000. My husband and I were forced to sell our other car in order to afford to buy a new car. Both of our cars were paid off.
Fumes from Car inside cabin Why is this not a recall This is not the only model doing this This needs to be addressed
The motor blew out on e-way at 70 miles hour in middle lane and was stuck there almost getting hit for over hour this is second 1.6 ecobosst motor thats been put in from ford first blew out at 32000 miles this one has 61000 miles both times regular oil changes on time and never ran low very dangerous for this to happen twice already

The vehicle stop while driving I took it to the dealership they can’t figure out the problem this vehicle is very dangerous
Once the car is heated up and warm enough to drive it doesn’t want to go, it doesn’t shift correctly and it kicks back hard when shifting. Cylinder 3 keeps misfiring I had to replace it 3 times in the past 2 years, power to the windows aren’t as strong and the heat doesn’t come out as warm.
My 2014 Ford Escape titanium model has been diagnosed by Stamford Ford in Stamford CT as basically being totaled due to coolant which leaked into the engine. The cost they quoted to replace the engine is $10-11k. But no one would put that kind of money into an 8 year old Ford. The car has only ever been serviced at Stamford Ford Lincoln where it was purchased. Every oil change. Every service Every maintenance was done at this dealership. I had just paid them $1500 for new tires and new spark plugs. Interestingly they told me to replace the spark plugs on the recommended maintenance schedule but there was absolutely nothing wrong in the spark plug system. A mont later the front passenger side bulb went out so I took it right in and they said changing the bulb didn’t solve it so they had to replace the entire modular...
Coolant Leaked into engine cylinders causing engine to seize on road. My daughter driving the car. Now being told we need a new Engine. I contacted Ford Customer Service was advised there is a recall for this issue but it is VIN specific and I needed to contact NHTSA to get the VIN added...(VIN# [XXX]). Please advise...this is both a safety and poor customer support issue [XXX]([XXX] or [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2014 FORD ESCAPE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO ILLUMINATED ENGINE LIGHT.
while running car suddenly looses power and several engine lights come on, car does not accelerate becoming dangerous on the highway. Needed to pull over and turn the car off, wait a few minutes and turn it back on and then it works fine until the next episode. This is happening all the time and Ford Dealership can not find the problem. Ford Dealership mechanic drove the car and it happened to him while driving, replaced parts for about $1800 and the car is still doing the same thing! I have read blogs from many years ago and there are many Ford models with the same problem. I don't understand why there is no recall for this
First, my car had not a drop of antifreeze after driving two hours. Secondly, a week later, I was driving home routinely and began to drive forward when my car’s RPM’s went up very high and the car would not move as I was on a busy highway. Strangely, the vehicle had just had the transmission recall repair for the transmission bushing shifting cable a few weeks earlier. So although we he car was in drive it was not shifting. I turned the car off and on. Then the car did the same thing again and a message stating “transmission service” appeared on the dash board. I had to jump out of the car and run to the side of the road for safety as I broke down on a busy highway near my home. It was very scary.
coolant leaked into the cylinder causing a misfire and resulted in me having to replace the entire engine
Coolant intrusion into the engine. Coolant was low even after filling chamber causing overheating which is a safety risk. New engine need confirmed by local auto shop. No warning signal other than low coolant. AUL extended car warranty checked the vehicle and would not cover staring the engine had “ sludge” in it.
