Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed of a misfire in cylinder #2. The dealer reset the warning light however, the warning light returned. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the ignition coil was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the engine with a used engine. Recently, the contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that there was a misfire in the engine. The manufacturer was notified and provided the contact with a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
