DOOR AJAR WARNING, DOME LIGHT STAYS ON, DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WITH KEY PAD, DOOR DOES NOT STAY LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR, THE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHTS UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, A WARNING CHIMES, THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON, AND THE DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE (OR WHEN EXISTING THE CAR, THE KEYPAD BECOMES INOPERATIVE). NO AMOUNT OF SLAMMING, CLOSING GENTLY OR MULTIPLE CLOSING OF DOOR RECTIFIES THE CONDITION. HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALERSHIP, THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF ANY PROBLEM, SAID THERE WAS DIRT BUILD UP, SO THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, CLEANED SOMETHING AND CHARGED $120 TO TELL ME TO KEEP THE LOCK MECHANISM CLEAN. THAT LASTED FOR ABOUT A MONTH. STILL HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT
FAULTY DRIVER DOOR SENSOR. ALWAYS SHOWS DOOR AJAR WHICH THEN DRAINS THE BATTERY. FORD REPLACED IT WHEN UNDER WARRANTY ONLY TO HAVE IT GO BAD AGAIN OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL NOT RECALL A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. CHARGING CUSTOMERS $500 AND UP TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T JUST HAPPEN AGAIN.

SENSOR ON PASSENGER DOOR IS SHOWING OPEN AN DOOR IS NOT OPEN AND INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ON AND RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN. HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY DUE TO INSIDE LIGHTS STAYING ON. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN EXISTING VEHICLE. DRIVING AT NIGHT AND INSIDE LIGHT STAYS ON IS A DRIVING SAFETY FACTOR. CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR THIS SAME REASON. UNABLE TO FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR WAS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. EVEN THOUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHT WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN COME ON AND THEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL ALSO COME ONE WHICH IS VERY HAZARDOUS IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT. ALSO WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU CANNOT LOCK THE DOORS WHICH MAKES IT NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN OR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES WHOM MAY BE A PASSENGER IN THE CAR AS WELL. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR ABOUT 15 TIMES BEFORE IT STOPS OR IT MIGHT NOT STOP AT ALL.
TYPICAL "DOOR IS AJAR" ERROR MESSAGE. UPON CLOSING THE DOOR, THE ERROR MESSAGE "DOOR IS AJAR" POPS UP AND THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WITH THE CHIMES RINGING. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ERROR MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK". I BELIEVE THESE COULD BE RELATED. FORD DEALER REPLACED THE SWITCH ASSEMBLY BUT THIS DIDN'T SOLVE MY PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS RECALLED AS THOUSANDS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAFTEY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE!
2012 FORD EDGE WITH 51,000 MILES. DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING KEEPS COMING ON WHEN DOOR IS NOT AJAR BOTH WHEN VEHICLE IS MOVING OR NOT MOVING. I CAN OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND SOMETIMES IT WILL GO OFF SOMETIMES IT WON'T. IT WILL EVEN COME ON 20-40 MINUTES AFTER I'VE BEEN DRIVING AT TIMES WHEN DOOR HAS NOT BEEN REOPENED AND CLOSED. IT EVEN CAME ON AFTER THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPENED AND CLOSED, DRIVER DOOR AJAR NOT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR. WHENEVER I STOP,THE SHIFT TO PARK WARNING ALSO COMES ON WANTING ME TO SHUT MY DOOR SO I HAVE TWO WARNINGS BEEPING AT ME. INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF UNTIL I START MOVING FORWARD SO I CAN'T SEE BEHIND ME BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAYS AND STALLS AT NIGHT WHICH IS SCARY. AT 46,000 MILES THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SENSOR ISN'T OPERATING PROPERLY. WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT, THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON UNTIL YOU GET TO MORE THAN 15MPH. IT ALSO CAUSES BEEPING FROM THE WARNING INDICATOR TELLING YOU TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THIS SENSOR IS PART OF THE ENTIRE LATCH ASSEMBLY & NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER 36,000 MILES. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING AS EACH TIME THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AND YOU COME TO A STOP, THE WARNING INDICATOR BEEPS AND SAYS TO SHIFT INTO PARK.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR CENSOR WOULD NOT GO OFF DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY CLOSED. THIS CAUSED MY DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON, THE CAR SYMBOL TO STAY ILLUMINATED ON THE PANEL, THE DOORS TO STAY UNLOCKED, AND THE WARNING TONE TO SOUND WHILE DRIVING. ALL OF THESE ISSUES OCCUR WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. I HAD THE PAR REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR $387 AND AFTER ONE YEAR AND TWO WEEKS THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED TO REOCCUR IN THE SAME FASHION.

ABOUT ONE MONTH LATER, PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES($846.00). THEN, IN 2 WEEKS, TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR DEFAULT LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. HAD TO REPLACE TO THE TUNE OF $130.00.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER I SHUT AND TURN OFF CAR
OCTOBER OF 2014, I PURCHASED A 2012 FORD EDGE. ONLY A FEW MONTHS OF OWNING IT THE 'DOOR AJAR' WARNING WOULD CONTINUE TO SHOW UP, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR WAS CLEARLY CLOSED. THIS HAS STILL CONTINUED, ITS NOW NOVEMBER 2015. I WENT TO A DEALERSHIP AT ONE POINT AND THEY SIMPLY LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH IT WILL BE TO FIX, NOT ONCE DID THEY MENTION THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO TAKE NOTICE OF THIS ISSUE AND ACTUALLY SHOW THEY CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. I HAVE RECENTLY REVIEWED MANY OTHERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE RED FLAG THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR ANYMORE, WITH MY CHILD ESPECIALLY. THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK ONCE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, THAT SCARES ME. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION, A FIRE IGNITED UNDER THE FRONT HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.

DOOR AJAR WARNING COMES ON AFTER SHUTTING THE DRIVERS DOOR. I HAVE TAKEN THIS IN 2 TIMES SINCE I HAD THIS UNDER WARRANTY TO HAVE IT FIX AND NOW IT HAS HAPPEN AGAIN. WITH THIS PROBLEM THESE ARE THE OTHER PROBLEMS CAUSED BY IT. ' THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND CREATES A NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD. ' THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN SITTING IN A PUBLIC AREA AT NIGHT. ' THE FALSE DOOR AJAR SIGNALS PREVENTS THE DRIVER FROM RECOGNIZING A REAL DOOR AJAR SITUATION ... VERY DANGEROUS. ' THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. ' FAULTY LATCH. THE CAR HAS ONLY 33000 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPEN. THIS SHOULD BE RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILL BY A FACULTY SENSOR THAT PEOPLE WILL START IGNORING BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK.

MY 2012 FORD EDGE HAS DRIVER AND REAR DOORS AJAR INDICATORS ARE ON THE DASH, CLOSING THE DOOR REPEATEDLY DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR KEEPS TELLING ME TO SHIFT TO PARK. THE DOOR SWITCH IS A MODULE INSIDE THE DOOR. THIS IS BAD. WHEN YOU PARK THE CAR AND LOCK IT THE LIGHT STAYS ON EXPOSING THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NEED TO BE FIXED OR REMOVED COMPLETELY.

THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT REMOVED ONE OF THE FUSES IN ORDER TO SHUT OFF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT PROHIBITS DOOR LOCKING, TURNS ON INTERIOR LIGHT DURING NIGHT DRIVING. FORD ADVISED THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW IF THIS WOULD BE COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. HOW CAN THAT BE? ALL THEY COULD DO WAS GIVE ME A CASE NUMBER IF IT EVER TURNS INTO A RECALL. EVEN IF OUT OF WARRANTY, THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A LATENT MANUFACTURE SAFETY DEFECT! IN ADDITION, THE INTERIORS LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED AND CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,600.

CHECKED WITH IDS AND DRIVERS FRONT DOOR AJAR SWITCH STAYING ON ALL THE TIME, FOUND TSB #15-0013 FOR CLEANING ELECTRONICS WITH SPECIAL TOOL FOR REPAIR, PERFORMED TSB#15-0013, REPAIR VERIFIED)NOW 3 MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM. DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON BELL SOUNDS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS IS A CERTIFIED EDGE UNTIL MARCH 2016. GLARE FROM DOME LIGHT DISTRACTING WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM NOW.

I BELIEVE THE DEALER SOLD ME A LEMON...THE DOOR AJAR COMES UP AS I CLOSE THE LEFT DOOR AS I PUT THE CAR IN MOTION;THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION; INTERIOR LIGHTS IS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED; THE LIGHTS GO ON WHEN...
LIKE THE HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS, WHEN DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED, THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" ALERT COMES ON AND BEEPS EVERY TIME YOU ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, ALSO CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHT TO STAY ON. I HAD NOT REALIZED IT WAS NOT ALLOWING ME TO LOCK THE DOOR UNTIL I READ ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS AND TESTED IT MYSELF....SURE ENOUGH, BACK DOOR CAN BE OPENED! SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, I GET REPEATED WARNINGS TO "SHIFT TO PARK". IF I DON'T JIGGLE THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFT KNOB, MY SEAT AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL NOT RESPOND. I HAVE TO START THE TRUCK A FEW TIMES, PUT IT THROUGH THE GEARS (IN DRIVE AND REVERSE), THEN I PRESS THE SHIFT RELEASE BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES THEN THE WARNING STOPS AND MY DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS TO ALLOW ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS IS A PAIN AND THE DEALER SAID THAT IF THE PROBLEM COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED, THEN THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN 2 TIMES ABOUT THIS - THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD INTO GEAR AFTER SLOWING OR COASTING AND THEN ACCELERATING. ALMOST FEELS LIKE I HAVE HIT SOMETHING WHEN IT HAPPENS. RECEIVING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING WHILE DRIVING, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SECURE. AT ONE POINT I WOULD LOCK THE DOORS AND AS I DROVE THE WARNING WOULD SOUND AND THE LOCKS WOULD POP OPEN. THE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED ONCE BEFORE IN 2012 BY THE DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. NOW THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT AGAIN.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS NOT RESPONDING: (JUST LIKE THE OTHER FORD CUSTOMERS RESPONDING) THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN. SAFETY ISSUE THAT THERE DOOR IS UNLOCKED AS WELL. THIS KEEPS INTERIOR LIGHTS ON, DISTRACTING AT NIGHT, WHICH COULD CAUSE GLARE. I CANT PARK MY LEAVE ANYTHING IN MY CAR WHEN GOING ANYWHERE BECAUSE CARE IS UNABLE TO LOCK. AND THE VEHICLE THIS CAR HAS 30000 MILES ON IT. I LIVE IN AREAS WHERE THERE IS CARJACKINGS FEELING VERY UNSAFE IN MY 2012 FORD EDGE WITH 30000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS SO REDICULIOUS THAT FORD & NHTSA IS LOOKING INTO THIS WITH ALL THE FORD VEHICLES COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE> GET STRANDED BECAUSE DOOR AJAR CAUSES BATTERY TO RUN DOWN.
THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE IT STARTED OUT EVERY NOW AND THEN. NOW ITS CONSTANT THIS MORNING RAN MY BATTERY DOWN CAUSING CRAZY THINGS TO GO ON WITH ELECTRICAL. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON SO AT NIGHT DRIVING IS BOTHERSOME, AND THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT WORK.
DRIVER DOOR REMAINS AJAR NO MATTER WHAT WE DO. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE ONE NEVER KNOWS IF DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED PROPERLY OR NOT! INTERIOR LIGHTS CAN DRAIN BATTERY. DEALER REPAIRED ABOUT 15 MONTHS AGO. SAME PROBLEM RETURNED. VERY EXPENSIVE.
UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS FROM WITHIN CABIN DUE TO DOOR AJAR SENSOR. CHILD EASILY OPENS DOOR WHILE DRIVING. HAD A STRANGER OPEN MY DOOR AND GOT IN PASSENGER SEAT THINKING IT WAS HIS MOTHERS CAR, THAN GOODNESS HE DID NOT HAVE A GUN. LACK OF SAFETY AND SECURITY FUNCTION.
THE IS CLOSED AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING IS COMING UP AND NOT LEAVING. I HAVE TO CLOSE THE DOOR 10+ TIMES SOMETIME TO GET THE WARNING TO GO AWAY. IT LEAVES THE LIGHT ON AND RUNS THE BATTERY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR ILLUMINATED ERRONEOUSLY, INDICATING THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, AN AUDIBLE ALARM WOULD ACTIVATE AND A WARNING MESSAGE TO PARK THE VEHICLE WOULD DISPLAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,700.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER DOOR HAS SHUT AND BEEN SLAMMED. THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE SLOWLY MOVING, EVENTUALLY THE INSIDE LIGHT TURNS OFF BUT WHEN YOU STOP, THE CAR STARTS DINGING AND READS "PUT VEHICLE IN PARK" I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN LEAVING A DRIVEWAY OR PARKING LOT AT NIGHT, YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING AROUND YOU OUTSIDE BECAUSE OF THE INTERIOR LIGHT REMAINING ON UNTIL YOU REACH A SPEED OF AROUND 10-15 MPH. I'M WORRIED THAT I MAY STRIKE AN OBJECT OR PERSON BECAUSE OF VISIBILITY ISSUES.
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR 30 SECONDS- REDUCING VISIBILITY. WHEN DRIVING IN SLOW TRAFFIC OR AFTER MOVING FROM A STOP, VEHICLE BEEPS AND SAYS TO SHIFT INTO PARK, AND THEN VANISHES. DISTRACTING AND ANNOYING! MILEAGE AT 66K.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE IN PARK, THE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK ELECTRONICALLY FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DRIVERS DOOR AJAR LIGHT WONT GO OFF NO MATTER WHAT I DO TO IT. CAUSING THE DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS AT ALL. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO TRY CLEANING IT WITH SOME WD 40 AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK TO BRING IT IN AND THEY WILL RUN SOME TESTS ON IT WHICH WOULD COST ME OVER 300 BUCKS AND THEN THEY WOULD GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THE DOOR LATCH WHICH WOULD COST ME ANOTHER 200 DOLLARS OR SO AND COULDN'T GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM WOULDN'T COME BACK. A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES WITH BOTH THE DRIVER DOOR AND REAR PASSENGER (DRIVERS SIDE) LATCH OR SENSOR IMPROPERLY WORKING. BOTH DOOR LATCHES AND OR SENSORS MALFUNCTIONS MAKE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY LIT, AND MAKES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS STAY ON. THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYING ON MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY.

THE DOOR AJAR DOES NOT SHUT OFF.NO MATTER HOW I CLOSE THE DOOR.AT ALL STOP SIGNS RED LIGHTS IT CONTINUES TO TELL ME TO SHIFT TO PARK BECAUSE OF "DOOR AJAR".THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF BECAUSE OF THE "DOOR AJAR".I CANT SEE OUT MY REAR VIEW MIRROR BECAUSE OF THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT.IM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR I NEVER KNOW IF IM GOING TO FALL OUT WHILE DRIVING DUE TO "DOOR AJAR".I BROUGHT IT IN TO FORD FOR REPAIR LATER FOUND OUT THEY JUST "CLEANED THE WIRING".9 MONTHS LATER PROBLEM IS BACK AND EVEN WORSE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS.

THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR LIGHT IS FAULTY. THE SENSOR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF AND THEREFOR THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AND THE DOME LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AS SOON AS I TOLD HIM THE PROBLEM HE TOLD ME WHAT KIND OF CAR I WAS DRIVING. THIS TELLS ME THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL AS THOUGH THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AS THERE IS SOME DANGER THAT THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK.
KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FORD EDGE BASED ON NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR GOES OFF CRIPPLING DOOR LOCK MECHANISM. NOT ONLY DO LIGHTS STAY ON DRAINING BATTERY BUT UNABLE TO LOCK DOOR PRESENTS SAFETY PROBLEM. FORD HAS A TSB FOR ELECTRICAL CLEANING BUT THAT IS NOT EFFECTIVE OVER TIME. PROBLEMS REPEATS ITSELF WITH ONLY KNOWN FIX TO BE DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT.
