The backup camera is faulty. Sometimes you will start the car and it works but most of the time it is just a black screen. I can go out and make several stops and sometimes it will flash on and then go right off. I know there have been several recalls about this but this model so far hasn't been included. It is a widespread problem as I have another Ford vehicle that does the same thing and it is a safety issue.
The issue is my 2012 Ford Edge passenger seat door ajar sensor. The car alarm has been going off all day and in the middle of the night and now the car battery is dead, I've researched this an their are many other consumers that have been having the same issue with 2011 & 2012 Ford Edge vehicles. Why hasn't there been a recall from Ford regarding this? I have not taken this in to be inspected. I understand that the cost for the replacement sensor unit and labor can be $400 - $600. I will try to disconnect the sensor myself and avoid this cost. Now it will be a safety issue. Please encourage Ford to issue a recall on this. Thank you
The door latch system is malfunctioning. The passenger side door will be closed but the light comes on that the door is open or ajar. This is a safety concern. I believe the door to be closed all the way but what if it's not and it opens while driving. I'm not sure if it is just a sensor or the door latch system is not working correctly.
My brakes are going all the way to the floor just every once in a while, but wow, my vehicle is in park and running, my traction control light comes on the only way to get it off. Is to turn the ignition off and back on.
There was no warning stated in the dash, but I went to drive my car one day and the brakes were sunk to the floor. I drove it around carefully for a little bit and realized the brake pedal built pressure if it was constantly being pressed, however, it would lose the pressure instantly. I got the brakes bled and replaced a brake line since I had replaced both of the rear calipers prior (no issues there and no issues with brake pads or the brakes themselves). A few weeks went by and I lost the pressure again instantly. I called the mechanic to take a look and they replaced the brake booster and master cylinder and bled the brakes. The brake lines/hoses were fine with no leaks. I picked the vehicle up and the brake pedal is still soft and mushy with no pressure building. I am scared to...
My engine stopped as I was driving approximately 60 mph on the highway. Weather clear, dry, 90 degrees. I coasted to the side of the road. Engine immediately started. I drove a short distance and the vehicle stalled again. It again started and I drove a short distance to pull into a safe location. As I was waiting for oncoming traffic so I could turn left into a driveway the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. It again started and I was able to park in a safe location. The vehicle started and operated. I then drove the vehicle to a auto shop to check for codes. No codes. Checked battery and alternator which were fine. New gas in gas tank, clean air filter. See on internet site that these vehicle are prone to this and are dangerous. Drove another 40 miles back home with no problems.

My door ajar warning stays on after all the doors are shut. If I shut my driver door repeatedly, eventually it will turn off.
Senors keep going on and off sometimes I will be driving it will flash on then go off then sometime it will be when I start the car but when I turn the car off and come back to the car and start it again it goes off ABS, ABS Off, and Break Light and warning pops up check break system I have had them check and confirmed it is a sensor issue
I believe the sunroof package to be defective as well as the electric system that is connected to the systems. I have brought the issue up with the dealership and they did not perform a proper diagnostic on the part to report any issues. I believe this is a safety issue as the windows and back gate open without prompt. I don't use the sunroof because it hasn't opened since a short time after my purchase. When the sunroof opened I tried to close it and the element that closes it popped above my head and threw the panoramic glass off the track. I took the vehicle in to point of purchase and they did not perform a proper diagnostic on it to tell me whether it was safe to close or not. So if this could be resolved I would appreciate it. There is a bump sound and the engine goes into Limp Mode. The wrench symbol appears. After stopping and shutting down the engine, it will start normally and continue to run normally. Problem is when it happens on a heavily traveled road and there is a distance before one can turn off.
Brakes continually malfunction and fail intermittently. It has been an ongoing issue for just over two years. We have found they malfunction and fail after any loss of traction, such as turning on a gravel road or hitting a pothole. For quite some time we have been able to stop and pump the brakes hard and hold them down, repeating until the brakes tightened back up. The last 3 days however they will not function properly. This malfunction/ failure causes extremely spongey brakes making it extremely difficult to slow or stop, having to push the pedal nearly to the floor to start slowing down. Problem had not been reproduced by servicer however we could reproduce the problem once we determined it was a loss of traction causing it. NO warning lights of ANY kind have ever Illuminated! As I was driving, all of a sudden the car would not pick up speed. I gently put additional pressure on the gas, but nothing happened. I was lucky as I was going out to my mom's. As I pulled into the drive way I heard thumping noises (that is the best way I can explain the sound). Turned car off, visited with my mom, hours later drove home not issues / no light indicators. About a month later I was approaching a stop sign. As I proceeded after the red light turned green, the car again would not increase in speed. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD IN IT AND IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER ON THE FREEWAY. THERE WAS A YELLOW WRENCH THAT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD I WAS ABLE TO VEER OVER TO SAFETY. "TAKATA RECALL' - I CANNOT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. THE BREAKS JUST REFUSES TO FUNCTION AND THE SPEED WOULD NOT DECREASE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BREAKS AND THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FROM JUNE 2018 TO JUNE 2019 I HAVE INVESTED OVER $4000 IN PRIMARILY THE BRAKING SYTEM OF MY CAR. I CONTINUE TO HAVE ISSUES WHEN AFTER FILLING MY GAS TANK THE CAR HESITATES IN STARTING. I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE BREAKING SYSTEM FROM BRAKE PADS TO HCU SYSTEM TO THE ABS SYSTEM. EVEN THE NEW PARTS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE FAULTY.

TAKATA RECALL I PURCHASED MY 2012 FORD EDGE SEL APRIL 22, 2019. TODAY, MAY 31ST 2019 ON MY WAY HORNE FROM WORK THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING AND POWER. I HAD JUST PASSED A SEMI-TRUCK ON A SMALL FARM TOWN BLACK TOP ROAD AND CAME UP ON A STOP SIGN. IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING TO THE LEFT FROM THE STOP THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. SECONDARY PREVENTS DOORS VEHICLE FROM BEING LOCKED BY EXTERNAL PAD WHEN PARKING THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS KEEPING LIGHTS ON DRAINING THE BATTERY. TRYING TO OPEN/CLOSE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES EVENTUALLY RESOLVES, BUT GETS FRUSTRATING WHEN IT IS 5+ MIN TRYING TO DO THIS IN RAIN OR IN PARKING LOTS THIS HAS BEEN INCREASING IN FREQUENCY AND MORE FREQUENT IN COLD WEATHER THAN WARM..
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ALWAYS SAID 'DOOR AJAR' AS IF IT WOULD NEVER LATCH WHEN CLOSED. IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2014.

VEHICLE DISPLAYS A WARNING "VEHICLE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE" THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN INSPECTED TWICE AND THE TECHNICIANS CLAIMED NOT TO HAVE BEEN ABLE REPRODUCE THE ERROR AND ALSO CLAIMED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS NOT "SPITTING" OUT ANY ERRORS. THE MESSAGE DISPLAYS WITHIN THE FIRST FILE MILES AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN STATIONARY FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS AND IT IS DISPLAYED FOR 10-20 SECONDS.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND WARNING SOUNDS ALERT WHEN ALL DOORS OF THE VEHICLE ARE DEFINITELY CLOSED. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO RUIN 2 BATTERIES IN THE LAST 1.5 YEARS. ALSO IT CAUSES MY DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM TO NOT ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING LEAVING ME VULNERABLE AND UNSAFE AS A FEMALE DRIVER. WHEN YOU START YOUR CAR. A MESSAGE COMES ON THAT DOORS ARE NOT CLOSED. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE THE CAR. YOU CAN OPEN AND SHUT YOUR DOORS. ALL THE TIME. THE CAR ALSO RANDOMLY HONKS THE HORN AND THE LIGHTS ALL FLASH. WE HAVE CHANGED THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTES AND IT STILL HAPPENS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR WHILE.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL STAY ON EVEN WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT TAKES MULTIPLE TIMES OF SHUTTING OR SLAMMING THE DOOR TO TURN OFF. WHEN I DRIVE WITH THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STILL ON, THE DOORS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK, WHICH IS UNSAFE. ABOUT 10 INSTANCES WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS, THE CAR ALARM WENT OFF FOR NO REASON, BOTH DAY AND NIGHT IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. IF THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN, IT CAN RUN THE BATTERY DOWN. I GOT A DIAGNOSTICS TEST PERFORMED ON THE CAR FOR $95 AND IT IS A FAULTY LATCH IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE FORD DEALERSHIP ESTIMATED IT WOULD COST $510 + TAX.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS 2012 FORD EDGE. IT WORKED FINE AT THE DEALER. NOW AFTER II GET IT HOME, THE LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF AND THE CAR BATTERY DIED. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN OLD BATTERY. BOUGHT A NEW ONE. THEN I NOTICED THE DOOR LIGHT WOULDN'T GO OFF. NOW I HAVE A CAR I PAID 140000 FOR AND I CAN'T DRIVE IT BECAUSE THE LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR FORDS. THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR BLOWS EXTREMELY HOT NO MATTER THE TEMP SETTING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW OFF AND ON. IT STARTED LAST WINTER WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE BLEW ICY COLD NO MATTER THE TEMPERATURE SETTING. MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR ALWAYS SHOWS AJAR THEREFORE MY KICKS WILL NOT ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING . THIS MALFUNCTIONED 2 YEARS AGO

A WRENCH WARNING WOULD JUST APPEAR ON MY DASH AND MY CAR WOULD TOTALLY JUST SHUT DOWN. I CAN BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THIS HAPPENS..HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES THEN FINALLY TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY REPLACED MY THROTTLE BODY FOR 750.00. PICKED CAR UP AND 2 DAYS LATER HAPPENED AGAIN. TOOK BACK TO FORD AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG.
ALERT THAT DRIVER DOOR IS NOT CLOSED AND UNABLE TO USE KEY PAD TO LOCK DOOR
