The contact then stated that the navigation system and the rear-view camera intermittently displayed a distorted or blank screen. Additionally, the contact stated that the theft system alarm started to malfunction and was inadvertently activated. As a result, the battery failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the open-door sensor circuit failed, and the door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and transferred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 151,193.
