THERE IS AN INSTRUMENT PANEL ALARM THAT SAYS "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" THAT REMAINS DESPITE REPEATED OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. WE PAID ALMOST $600 TO HAVE THE SENSOR REPLACED ABOUT A YEAR AGO, AND NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE US AGAIN TO FIX IT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NOT ONLY DOES THIS ALARM CAUSE CONSTANT BLINKING AND WARNING TONES WHEN DRIVING, BUT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AT NIGHT FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER DRIVING, AND I'VE HAD THE CAR BATTERY DISCHARGE TWICE WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE AND TRYING TO LOCK UP FOR THE NIGHT. IF YOU SLAM THE DOOR REPEATEDLY, IT SOMETIMES WILL GO OFF, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES WHEN I'VE OPENED AND SLAMMED THE DRIVERS DOOR OVER 10 TIMES, AND I JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE ALARM, NOISE, AND DISTRACTION. IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE...

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
DOOR AJAR WARNING COMES ON WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED. IF YOU SLAM THE DOOR ENOUGH TIMES, IT MAY GO OUT. DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND DEPLETES THE BATTERY. WARNING CHIME IS GOING OFF WHILE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE CAN'T LOCK DOORS, CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT, AND NOT SURE IF DOORS ARE REALLY SHUT. ENDED UP BEING A SHORTED DOOR SWITCH. READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH PEOPLE HAVING SAME ISSUE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY SINCE MARCH 29TH.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

ALSO, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED AND THE VEHICLE ALARM SOUNDS OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,500.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON UNTIL THE DOOR IS SLAMMED SHUT REPEATEDLY.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON, EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS TO LOCK WHEN DRIVING, AND THE ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF, AND DOME LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF IF KEYS ARE LEFT IN THE IGNITION. THE DOORS NOT LOCKING IS THE BIG SAFETY PROBLEM, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. I HAD THE DEALER FIX THIS ONCE WHEN THE CAR WAS JUST OVER A YEAR OLD, AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN A YEAR AND A HALF LATER. FAULTY PART FOR SURE.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS SHUT. DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN SENSOR IS ON. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. BATTERY DIES BECAUSE LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF. ALL MY DOORS ARE UNLOCKED SO IT IS VERY UNSAFE, SOMEONE COULD ENTER MY VEHICLE WHILE IT IS STOPPED.THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY AND CLEANING THE LATCH DOES NOT HELP.
I PURCHASED MY LOW MILEAGE EDGE FROM LOCAL FORD DEALER. EXPERIENCING PERIODIC ISSUE WITH CAR TRANSMISSION LAG OR JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP, AS AT A STOP SIGN OR PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOTS. TOOK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE ISSUE, NO CODES. MORE RECENTLY THE BACKUP CAMERA HAS INTERMITTENTLY FAILED. NO BACKUP GUIDELINES ARE PRESENT, SOMETIMES BACKUP CAMERA IS VISIBLE, THEN GOES BLACK, OTHER TIMES DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. NOW MY BRAKES ARE GIVING ME ISSUES. THE PEDAL WILL EITHER BE VERY HARD TO PRESS, AS IN LOSING POWER BRAKING WHEN A VEHICLE DIES. THEN THE PEDAL MAY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DID EXPERIENCE SOMETHING SIMILAR WHILE IN FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, FOOT ON BRAKE, THEN BRAKE LOSING PRESSURE AND PEDAL DEPRESSING TO FLOOR. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THEN THE "SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK: LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE...
DOOR AJAR ALARM ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED DOME LIGHT STAYS ON DOOR WONT LOCK
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ON DASH STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY. INDICATOR WILL COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND IN MOTION. HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS NOW.
2012 FORD EDGE SE. I NOTICE THAT SOMETIMES IT WOULD SHOW DOOR AJARED WARNING LIGHT. I WOULD HAVE OPEN AND CLOSE MY DOOR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE LIGHT GO OFF. THEN IT PROGRESS TO THE POINT NOW IT'S PERMERNANT. NOW DOORS WON'T LOCK WHILE DRIVING, INTERIOR LIGHTS MOMENTARILY STAY ON AND THE ALARM BEEPS TWICE ( WARNING THAT THE DOOR AJAR IS KEEPING IT FROM SETTING PROPERLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY WHILE STATIONARY. IT'S HAPPENED DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY SINCE APRIL 1, 2016.
THE DOOR AJAR ALARM WILL SOUND EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURE. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND IT GIVES A AUDIBLE SIGNAL. INTERIOR LIGHTS COMING ON ARE HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS EXPECTANTLY. THIS ACTIVATION ALSO CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON AFTER YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN AND NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPEN TO MY WIFE WHILE AT WORK. FORTUNATELY, THIS TIME, IT WASN'T IN A REMOTE LOCATION, BUT IT COULD HAPPEN. FORD REFUSES TO RECALL OR REPAIR AT THEIR COST, EVEN THOUGH I HAD IT REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY (WHILE UNDER WARRANTY).
SYNC INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS DOWN SOMETIMES FOR DAYS AT A TIME. WHEN SYNC SHUTS DOWN, THE BACK-UP CAMERA IS NON-FUNCTIONING WHICH ELIMINATES SAFE BACKING. THERE IS NO WAY TO SEE SMALL PEOPLE OR ITEMS THAT MIGHT BE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE VEHICLE....VERY DANGEROUS!!!

MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS COMING ON. THE DOME LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND THE SHIRT TO PARK IS COMING ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. MY BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS TOLD THAT FOR EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE BRAKE BOSSTER BUT THIS IS NOT A RECALL.... I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE KNOW THAT MY LIFE WAS IN DANGER BEFORE THIS HAPPENED.
MY DRIVERS DOOR AND THE BACK DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND WARNING COMES ON AFTER I HAVE SHUT THE DOORS SECURELY AND WILL NOT GO OFF. VERY AGRUAVATING! I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO A FORD SHOP AND THEY TELL IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $600 TO REPAIR.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE SHUT. SYSTEM CONSTANTLY ADVISES DRIVER TO SHIFT TO PARK WHILE DRIVING AND CONTINUES CHIMING THAT DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK, MANY SAFETY FEATURES WILL NOT ENGAGE BECAUSE COMPUTER BELIEVES DRIVER'S DOOR TO BE OPEN.
"DOOR OPEN" INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU CANNOT LOCK THE DOORS, WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ALSO STAY ON... WHICH MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT (ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE). THIS IS THE SECOND TIME OUR CAR HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. WE HAD THE DOOR LATCH REPLACED THE FIRST TIME IN 2014. IT RECENTLY STARTED OCCURRING AGAIN ON TWO DOORS IN OUR CAR. IT COSTS $500 PER DOOR TO FIX EACH OCCURRENCE. FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO THIS ISSUE THAT IS BEING REPORTED BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, ROBBED, OR KILLED BECAUSE THEY CAN'T LOCK THEIR DOORS.

THE LATCH IS DEFECTIVE.THE DOOR AJAR WARNING SOUNDS ON THE DASH BOARD, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK. DOOR HAS TO BE OPENED AND SLAMMED CLOSED MANY TIMES FOR THE WARNING TO GO OFF, BUT ONLY TEMPORARILY. HARD TO LOCK CAR, DOME LIGHT STAYS ON. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, IN PARK, BASICALLY ANYTIME THE CAR IS ON. HAD THE ISSUE FIXED AT A DEALERSHIP - HAD TO PAY $494.00!! I SEE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY FORD EDGE OWNERS - FORD NEEDS TO GET THIS FIXED AND RECALL - UNSAFE!!!
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WHEN NOT. DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING, INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHICH DRAINS BATTERY AND UNABLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT DUE TO THIS. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. CAN NOT LOCK VEHICLE FROM OUTSIDE OR SET ALARM ALL INTERIOR LOCKS REMAIN ON AND DO NOT SHUT OFF
1) "SHIFT TO PARK" ERROR: HAVE TO CLICK THE SHIFTER ONE OR TWO TIMES TO CLEAR IT. UNTIL I DO, THE SEAT DOES NOT MOVE BACK FOR EXITING. 2) "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" ERROR: HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR, SOMETIMES ONLY ONCE, BUT USUALLY MANY TIMES IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE ERROR. 3) IF THE "DOOR" ERROR IS NOT CLEARED, THE "SHIFT" ERROR WILL APPEAR WHILE MOVING, WHENEVER I COME TO A STOP. ALSO, THE AUDIBLE SIGNAL WILL KICK IN. 4) AT TIMES THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE TOUCH OF MY HAND. I SUSPECT WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR LAST, THE "DOOR" ERROR WAS PROBABLY IN EFFECT. SERVICE: I ACTUALLY TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND ALL THEY COULD TELL ME WAS THAT THE SHIFTER HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR $500. THEY COULDN'T EVEN FIND THE "DOOR" ERROR. I THINK THIS MERITS A RECALL NOTICE...
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. SYSTEM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE HAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS TO LOCK POSING SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO THE DOME LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF DUE TO THE SENSOR NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED. EVEN AFTER REPEATEDLY SHUTTING DOOR (OVER 10 TIMES) THE SENSOR WILL POP ON DURING DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE. DONE LIGHTS REMAIN ON AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY.

WHEN STARTING AND SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING COMES ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF. YOU HAVE TO CONTINUALLY SLAM THE DOOR TO GET BOTH TO GO OUT. SOMETIMES THE WARNING LIGHT AND INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD WHEN IT'S DARK OUTSIDE. I ALMOST WENT INTO A DITCH LAST WEEK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I STARTED COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE FORD DEALER DID NOT FIX IT. NOW THEY WANT $500 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. FORD SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE - NOT THE CONSUMER.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT ALERTS YOU THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS CLEARLY SHUT AND SHUT WELL. I BELIEVE IT IS THE SENSOR. THE SENSOR IS IN THE DOOR PANEL AND NOT EASILY REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO NOT GO OFF AND DOOR ALERT TO STAY ON, IN EFFECT DISTRACTING THE DRIVER AND MISINFORMING THEM OF A PROBLEM. THIS MAY AFFECT THE CAR DOING OTHER THINGS IF IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND CONTINUES WHILE MOVING. IT IS NOT AN ADJUSTMENT PROBLEM WITH THE LATCH.
DOOR AJAR WARNING KEEPS COMING ON, SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR FIRST GET IN THE CAR IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF, DOME LIGHT IS ON, WILL ALSO COME ON WHILE DRIVING EVENTHOUGH THERE WAS NO SENSOR LIGHT ON WHEN FIRST DRIVING, SHUT DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, SOFT OR HARD AND WILL NOT GO OFF, VERY ANNOYING SINCE THE SOUND GOES OFF THAT INDICATES DOOR IS AJAR, CANNOT LOCK DOORS WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AT NIGHT THE DOME LIGHT BEING DISTRACTS FROM DRIVING AND HARDER TO SEE THE ROAD, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS INTERMITTENT, NOW IT HAPPENS MORE THAN NOT. PLEASE RECALL
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY HAS WENT BAD AND IT IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD REFUSES TO ADDRESS. IT KEEP THE LIGHT ON IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR AND THE DOOR DOESN'T LOCK APPROPRIATELY FOR SAFETY.
SAFETY ISSUE WITH DOOR AJAR WARNING, DOME LIGHT STAYS ON, DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING. A WARNING CHIMES " PUT BACK IN PARK." THE DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. SLAMMING THE DOOR TO ELIMINATE WARNING 'DOOR AJAR' RISK INJURY AND DAMAGE TO OTHER COMPONENTS. RESEARCH SHOWS A LONG STANDING NATIONWIDE PROBLEM AND NO RECALL. TO THE DEALER IT GOES TO PROVIDE SAFETY TO THE FAMILY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS CLOSED, THE AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AS WELL AS THE LIGHT ABOVE THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOORS AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
