Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. A CHIME SOUNDED EVEN THOUGH ALL THE DOORS WERE CLOSED SECURELY. IN ADDITION, THE DOME LIGHTS ILLUMINATED TEMPORARILY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A LUBRICANT WAS APPLIED TO THE DOOR LATCHES. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE YEAR LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
