My 2018 CRV 1.5L turbo with 70,000 mi. I have replaced the turbocharger high pressure fuel pump, low pressure fuel pump twice AC compressor The radio display keeps changing by itself every warning light in the display has popped on several times all at once, all this within a 6-month period also car lost power when diving on highway.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to use the remote start, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle had to be started manually, and once started, the parking brake, air bags, check engine, TPMS, and the Service Vehicle warning lights were illuminated. The failure was intermittent; however, the warning lights occasionally illuminated while driving at various speeds or while idling. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
New battery dies after sitting for one night. Had checked after driving a couple of miles to autozone. Battery test Good. Next morning battery was dead again. There is some sort of peristent drain on the battery that kills the battery overnight.
For some weeks, the driver’s heated seat began to heat to excessive temperatures without me turning on the seat warmer. The seat heating system intermittently reaches temperatures high enough to cause painful burn-type irritation to my back and buttocks. I have experienced repeated episodes where normal seat heating settings produced dangerously high heat. I returned the vehicle multiple times to Townsend Honda for diagnosis and repair (repair orders are on file with the dealer and with Honda corporate). Despite multiple service visits, the dealership has been unable to permanently resolve the overheating condition. On 09162025 and 09222025 repairs or diagnostics were attempted but the defect persists. Honda corporate has since opened Case #15869482 for further review but I have not heard from Honda corporate till now.
My case has only 40k miles on it and the Body Control Module failed costing me $1k+
This all started when I purchased a 2018 Honda CRV from Motorworld in the late months of 2021 used. When this issue started happening, Motorworld ignored me when I was asking questions. Then, when I brought it in for service, they used tactics like "if we don't find anything, we will have to charge you a service fee" or call me the next day and say "before we hook it up, it may be your easy pass". They took the car in after I had complained about going down [XXX] , and with nothing in front of my car, it slammed on the brakes going from 40-0mph. When they got done, I went to pick up the car, and they told me it was the aftermarket windshield, but it was the one I bought with the car. I called Honda, they made Motor World take it in, and then called...
There was a recall on the fuel pump which houses the fuel filter which led to faulty fuel injectors, after speaking with Honda mechanic I was informed that they are aware that there is an issue with injectors but no recall has been issued yet. The fuel injection issue would cause the car to lose acceleration and speed. Also an unknown electrical issue is happening with the car, battery has had to be replaced 3 times in the past three years, Honda mechanic is unable to locate the issue.
A few weeks ago, my vehicle suddenly turned off at a stop light. For several weeks, it’s been feeling like it’s being forced to take off. Today, the car struggled to turn on and then turned off and all the lights came on. It happened three times. A year ago, I received a recall letter that the fuel pump needed to be replaced and that I would be notified when the parts arrived. When my car starting having issues, my mechanic said it might be the fuel pump. I contacted Honda to replace it and they said the recall had been closed. Now I’m having these issues with my vehicle and I’ve read online about it happening to several people who have owned 2018 Honda CRVs.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the A/C was emitting hot air. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the A/C shaft seal had failed. The contact was informed that the A/C shaft seal leaked into the suction hose and discharge hose. The contact was informed that the A/C shaft seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another dealer for a diagnostic test, and the contact was informed that the incorrect coolant was used, causing the A/C shaft seat to fail. The contact suspected that during one of the vehicle maintenance sessions, the incorrect coolant was used. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,900.
I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and unresolved safety and performance issues. Beginning in mid-2023, the vehicle experienced multiple system-wide failures, including: -All dashboard warning lights illuminating intermittently without cause, sometimes for days. -Sudden failure to accelerate after stopping, including stalling in intersections. -Engine running rich with repeated check engine light activations. On two occasions, the vehicle stalled in the middle of busy intersections, once with my [XXX] child in the car, posing a serious risk to my family and other drivers. The dealership replaced the A/C Control Unit (June 2023) citing it as the cause of the system alerts, but no improvement was seen. The dealership then diagnosed a faulty VSA unit, quoted $2,500, but never ordered the part or followed up. A third-party shop (Mr. Tire) diagnosed a faulty ECM, which the dealership ignored. In September 2023, dealership recommended replacing the fuel injectors, which I paid...
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, DTC: P0172 and P0300 were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while the codes were illuminated, the ADAS system became inoperable. The contact stated that the Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, and other systems that were inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle recently was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the error codes illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the dealer where the recall repair was performed, and a diagnostic test was performed. However, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and the ignition coils, 12-Volt battery, and the sparks plugs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage...
all warning signs come on at the same time on the dashboard. Car repair service explained that this is a known problem with CRV and suggested that I take it to he dealer. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery and this worked in discontinuing the warning signs but this was a temporary fix since same problem reappeared within weeks. This has reoccurred several times since 2024. Appointment has been made with dealer since the danger is whether warning sign is legitimate or just an electrical problem. This happens when car is first started and prior to initial drive. Does not prevent use of the car.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start. Triple A was contacted and replaced the battery. Additionally, the contact stated that the infotainment system screen had turned off intermittently while driving. The contact stated upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the infotainment system became operable. The contact stated that upon inspecting the battery, Triple A informed the contact that the battery was significantly corroded, and the battery was replaced. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH to the dealer, the infotainment system screen turned off. The contact pulled into the dealer's parking lot. The contact stated upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to shift into gears and was undrivable. The dealer diagnosed that the battery terminals were faulty, causing a system communication failure and battery drainage. The dealer replaced the battery. The vehicle was temporarily...
I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda CR-V (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle has recently experienced multiple warning lights turning on simultaneously, including brake, VSA, and TPMS. After inspection, I was informed that the issue may be related to the battery or sensor systems, even though the vehicle has not experienced any incidents or misuse. I would like to emphasize that this is a well-known issue reported by many 2018 CR-V owners, as evidenced in online forums, service bulletins, and consumer complaints. It is extremely frustrating to be responsible for repair costs for what appears to be a design or manufacturing flaw. Additionally, I visited a local Honda dealership for diagnosis, but I was given no explanation regarding the cause of the problem and was simply asked to pay for service. I found this experience to be highly unprofessional and...
Driving i would lose all power like inwas out of gas. Would let it sit for a few minutes and it would run normally for a while then stall on the side of the road. Happened 2 times on the interstate and one on a back road.
Fuel Pump recall completed at McGrath Honda, St. Charles IL., on Monday 2/3/2025. Never had any issues with car since purchase in 2019. Since Fuel Pump recall I have had an additional 3 visits. Car has a rumble and shaking when starting. Revisit on 4/1 shop found no problems all inspections checkout out. Once again car still rubles and shakes when starting. On [XXX] my 17 year old was driving, all emergency lights came on, gas pedal stopped working, (This is a vital safety concern for a gas pedal to stop working) and car overheated. Car required another shopping and upon inspection again no issues identified. On [XXX] again all warning lights activated, car rumbles/ shakes upon starting. Car returned to shop where faulty oring on fuel pump was identified and changed. All warning lights cleared and car returned. On [XXX] Car rumbles when starting, all warning lights active and...
My vehicle became difficult to steer, similar to driving with all the tires low on air. I made an appointment with Proctor Honda. They determined the Electronic Power Steering Rack was sticking and replaced it with a 5320-TLB-A23 : G/BOX ASSY, EPS. Honda assured me this was not a recall issue. After paying the $4365.66 repair charge, I determined there was a Service Bulletin 23-037 issued for this same problem. It applied to 2018 Honda CRVs. However, it only covered 54 vehicles and my vehicle was not included. This seems unreasonable given it appears to be the identical issue as the vehicles subject to the recall. I'm a 76 year old female and have no means to challenge this other than to ask for your help in determining if I am being treated fairly. If it truly is not the same issue, then I understand. Mileage is 87,661.
Car was not able to shift into lower gears. Car would not accelerate when put in drive and drive did not illuminate on the dash. Gearshift was slipping between neutral and drive. mechanic got code of U3003–16. And U 04168. On a separate couple of occasions, the emergency brake system was activated when nothing was in the road
ALL dashboard warning lights and beeping alerts come on/cycle through for a few days. Then, things quiet down for a few days. Cruise control stops working when this happens. VERY ANNOYING and erodes confidence in the safety of the vehicle. PLEASE address this problem, which has been experienced by SO many others, with a RECALL fix as soon as possible.
In January 2023 our vehicle began having numerous issues with sensors, alarms, door locks, the car would turn itself on and drain the battery overnight and at times would not shut off without pulling the main fuse. Through research online it was clear that the problem was the Body Control Module (BCM). There are many, many reports online of the 2018 CRV having this problem, so I took it to the dealer and they had never heard of the issue. They tried to do diagnostics but had no way to determine if it was the BCM. Finally, I asked them to just replace the BCM even without a diagnosis, and after 2 months (there were significant back orders of this part) we were able to get it installed in the car and all was fine. Fast forward to last week (April 2025) and it’s starting up again - electronics turning...
The infotainment display on my vehicle's dashboard flashes and emits a "beeping" sound frequently. The only way to remedy the problem is to pull off the road, shut down the engine and restart it. The flashing and beeping is not only annoying, but poses a safety hazard - particularly at night. I belong to a Honda CR-V owners group and my complaint is frequently echoed by other CR-V owners, so the problem is not limited to my vehicle. My Honda dealer will fix the problem for $1,600. I've been in touch with Honda corporate and they refuse to remedy the problem at their expense since my vehicle is out of warranty.
All for the safety features light remains on after starting and driving my car. I drive my car for 2 to 3 days per week. The most recent maintenance on my car was the Honda recall and alignment at the dealer. Reading various chats this seems to be a comma issue for the Honda CRV. I am concerned if saftey features work and if my sensors are defected. I purchased my car December 2018 with little over 67, 000k miles.
Summary of Issue: I am submitting this complaint regarding unresolved safety recall issues and recurring emission system failures with my 2018 Honda CR-V. Safety Recall Unresolved for Over One Year: I received a safety recall notice in early 2024 concerning my vehicle’s fuel pump, but despite numerous follow-ups with both Honda Customer Support and my local dealership, the issue has not been addressed. The necessary parts are not available, and the problem continues to be postponed for over a year, presenting potential safety risks. Emission System Disorder: In 2022, I experienced issues with the emission system in my vehicle, and the case was registered under Case Number 13205072. However, in 2025, the emission system malfunctioned again, and the dealer attributed it to a fuel injector problem. This contradicts the original diagnosis and raises further concerns about a defect in the emission system that may have existed since the vehicle was...
EPS RACK. steering sticks turning left and right
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The CAR had everyt warning light come on the dashboard- this happened multiple times to many people it's been widely reported online. Honda is covering it up and not doing anything about it..... every safety feature in teh car ceases to work! and does not operate- the car STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! honda is aware and hiding this issue. it's affective 2017-2019 CRV. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes! I took to the dealer and they're aware of it... they said there is no recalls yet. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? honda is supressing this! Were there any warning lamps, messages...
Multiple vehicle warning lights showing up on dashboard, but only when the weather is cold - usually under 35 degrees F. Once the temperature goes above 35 degrees F, the warning lights disappear. Not exactly sure what is going on, but have read online of a bunch of other owners of 2017 and 2018 Honda CR-V’s experiencing the same exact issue. Would like to get Honda Motor Corp. to cover the cost of repair.
BCM box failed without warning. This caused the brand new battery to die without warning and caused the vehicle to stop recognizing both key fobs, locking me out of the vehicle. Panic alarm randomly went off in the middle of the night. If this happens in an area without cell phone service, I would not have been able to call for roadside assistance. If this happens in an unsafe area, drivers are put at risk. Problem has been diagnosed by two separate mechanics, one of whom works at Honda. There were no warnings. The only warning that seems like a warning in hindsight is that the original car battery failed without warning overnight. That battery was promptly replaced, only to have the above problem occur within two weeks.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the brakes suddenly activated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and continued driving. The contact stated the road was uneven due to construction and there was metal covering over the parts of the road being worked on. The brake light flashed on the instrument panel, advising the driver to apply the brakes while there was no other vehicle in front of the contact to activate the sensor. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer was informed of the failure but had not diagnosed the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
2018 Honda CRV with 47,000 miles bought 12/23/24. Upon driving the car that evening all warning lights on dashboard lit up, and every warning started popping up on the dash - hill start assist error, power steering problem, parking brake problem, vehicle stability assist problem, etc. Car drove without being affected but the warnings continued cycling through on the dashboard. Took it back to the dealer I bought it from, and they said the battery wasn't tightened down all the way. I drove it and the next day all the lights came back on, and cycled through all the warning system errors. It has since stopped again, but this seems to be an issue with the 2018 CRVs.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact replaced the battery. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact called another local dealer, Plaza Honda (2722 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11210), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
I have 54,000 miles and this is the second battery and second set of tires. I understand a battery but 2 already , that shouldn’t be. And tires cupping on 2 sets of tires. And alignment was not the issue and I also have them rotated.
Honda CRV 2018.all warning lights on dashboard .
I have been having issues with my car abruptly stopping by itself. One example is when I was driving down the road with no one behind me and the car went from 40MPH to 0. The car behind me almost hit me. But MotorWorld's excuse to this was maybe this was because of the sun!!!!! I had called MotorWorld when this first started happening and they claimed they never heard of this happening before after bringing the car in to be looked at they kept asking if i was sure I wanted it to be looked at because with will cost me money if no codes show. I had it looked at and they told me it was my EZ-pass then it was my aftermarket window that I bought the car with (even though they found codes while troubleshooting). I eventually asked them to disable it, which they told me...
All warning lights appearing on the dashboard unexpectedly which then prevents the cruise control and other features from working. This issue comes and goes and makes it unsafe to drive. A new battery was installed but that did not solve the issue and no one has a solution. There are many websites stating this exact same problem. Different years and both CR-V and Pilots.
Every warning light came on at the same time. Everything except the cruise control and lane assist works, eventhough the warning lights are on. There is nothing wrong when driving, the car accelerates fine, brakes work fine. Only the cruise control and lane assist are affected by all the warning lights. Took car to the Honda dealership and was told 2 of my fuel injectors are completely clogged, but I have to replace all 4 of them. Why would fuel injector issue cause EVERY warning light to come on. My car gets great gas mileage (and has since I bought it brand new). Have read numerous forums with this same issue from 2017 Honda CRV to 2023 CRV's. Some have had their fuel injectors replaced and the problem comes back in a few weeks. If the fuel injectors aren't the issue, what exactly is making this happen and how do...
Keyless start system problem. The car turns on accessory mode without the key being inside. The battery drains which triggers the anti theft alarm. The car is not able to be opened with the keyless remote. You have to use a manual key. During the day the car won't unlock or the trunk won't open unless you use the manual key to open the car and then start the engine.
I talked to other people who has the same issue with me, bad head gasket , fuel injector an vsa module going bad, I'm having all 3 issues at the same time
The display will be functioning properly and then start flashing to brightness and road map gets changing display of road way. also screen goes all black or partially black.
While driving all the warning lights for every vehicle system came on. I was just pulling onto a highway when this occured and was not sure to pull to the side for fear vehicle was going to have a problem, especially when the alerts for break system failure came on.
I was driving my mother's 2018 Honda CR-V at a steady rate of about 30 mph when there was a warning chirp and the car suddenly braked hard and came to a complete stop. At that time, I was at least 30 feet behind the car in front and both my car and the one in front were traveling at the same speed. I can only assume that the collision avoidance system kicked in unexpectedly. After stopping, I restarted the car and proceeded normally, with no warning lights showing.
While away from home on vacation, the car alarm randomly went off for several minutes. Upon returning the battery was dead and would not start. Over the next several days this happened multiple times with the battery dying, car not starting, and the dash would light up and doors would not lock or unlock properly. Replaced the battery and again the same issue with alarm going off in the middle of the night after battery drain. I saw on the forums that the BCM is a common issue with the Honda vehicles. the car recognizes that "the start switch has been pushed, when it has not." This poses a safety risk for the car and the individual. Remedy from the dealer is the body/keyless module replacement at nearly 800.00. This seems to be something that Honda is aware of, but has not yet addressed.
As soon as I turn the vehicle on, all the warning lights turn on. I cannot use any safety features of the vehicle as the lights remain on. It started a year ago however used to go away itself. But this time it is consistent for over 10 days and not going away
8/6/24 confirmed by Honda dealer, steering gearbox internal failure. Need to replace rack and pinion assembly. See attached.
Several months ago, I noticed my steering wheel was sticky. While driving it is clearly difficult to turn the wheel. So I bought new tires and had a wheel alignment. The problem continues. I have just over 42,000 miles on the CRV and was under 40,000 when I noticed the problem. I just took it into the dealership and was told it was gear box issue that they are aware of and that would cost me over $3,000 to fix. When I googled this, I found that there are many complaints about this issue. Honda should recognize this problem and recall affected cars.
The following has happened several times before a repair was made: [Car Alarm / Unable to turn on/off car.] Questions: *BCM failure. My car is available for inspection. *Unable to turn off/on vehicle, children inside. *Problem reproduced months earlier, and at dealership (Goodyear(920-458-8306) and Honda International(920-208-0200), both in Sheboygan, WI) *Warning lights and messages only appeared during the issue happening, not prior. Started [XXX] Car alarm goes off during inconsistent times. Then if I try to turn it on, I am unable to turn the car back off: dash lights flicker, relay is clicking several times. IF I am eventually able to turn it off, I can not turn it back on, though it does try to (engine). Same symptoms as above. Eventually it seems to possibly drain the battery, and all the dash lights and relay again flicker, But then the brake pedal pushes back at me when trying...
Vehicle is flashing all kinds of repair needed signals. It is stalling and shutting off. It's not safe for me to drive. I'm elderly (disabled) and need to drive to get medicine and doctors appointments. The fuel pump is on recall and I can not wait until the fall to get the pump replaced. No Honda dealers have the pumps in stick yet. I need help ASAP. Thank you
Dashboard all warning lights flashing. Unable to see how fast I’m going. Has happened multiple times in the past months. And Is also a safety distraction. Light will not turn off unless I connect and disconnect the battery, which will still happen again either way in about a week.
The wiring harness that runs the electric lock on the back doors is faulty. I suspect it is because the wiring harness is too tight, and when the back doors are opened repeatedly it wears on the wires and eventually causes the wires to break. This means that the back door locks become manual locks. I think this is a mild safety issue because we have small children and it makes it difficult to get them in and out of the car. The problem was reported to the Honda dealership, and to an independent mechanic, both of whom reviewed the problem and confirmed it. The vehicle has not been inspected by Honda, the police, or insurance. There are no warning messages. The symptom is merely that the door lock ceases to function. This issue first appeared for us about five years after purchase of the vehicle (we purchased the vehicle...
The car quit suddenly while picking up my child at school and would not start. Had to be towed to the honda dealership due it not running. No warning sign of it having any problems, nothing. This qas February 13th and has been sitting therr for over a month now. I have contacted the Honda service department twice and they can not give me an ETA on when my car will be fixed or when the fue pump will arrive and if that is the only thing wrong with my car. This is our main vehicle, I do have a courtesy car to drive but I am making car payments on a car that is not functioning.
All electrical warnings spontaneously engaged on the panel; disabling cruise control and adaptive tools (emergency braking, lane warming, 3rd party vehicle encroachment, etc). The car drives fine. Has happened 6 times in the last 2 years. Either spontaneously resets when I turn the car off and then on, or I have to disengage the battery to reset everything.
