"While driving my 2018 Honda CR-V (Mileage: 58,800), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/stalling due to a fuel injector failure. This failure caused the vehicle to enter 'Limp Mode' on a high-speed roadway, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could not maintain flow-of-traffic speeds. My Wife and I was just getting on the highway when this occurred. Research indicates this is a recurring manufacturing defect in the 1.5L Turbo engine (referenced in Honda TSB #22-002 and similar internal communications). This is a critical safety issue as the fuel system failure is unpredictable and occurs without prior warning, leaving the driver stranded in dangerous traffic conditions. Honda has not yet issued a safety recall for this VIN despite the widespread nature of the injector defects."

Steering pulls and clicks at highway speeds. Engine misfire due to faulty fuel injection issues.

I first noticed an issue with my car on October 16th. ALL the dashboard lights came on as if the car had a new battery while I was driving. My Honda dealership said: Explanation: fuel system too rich due to faulty fuel injectors. Repairs to be completed: replace fuel injectors, gaskets, spark plugs All suggested repairs were done because I need a car The cost, $2,557.28 I filed a case with Honda Corporate and they said it was due to my car's age and linked to maintenance. I've always had my CRV serviced at Honda dealerships and my car is only a 2018.
#11707194 |
Midway my drive, all dashboards lights started. Took to dealership, they performed A/F Ratio test and “Vehicle failed as all Injectors are running rich.” Dealership suggested I need to replace all fuel injectors and would cost $2000. Found this is an issue with lot of 2018 CRVs but my VIN was not covered under extended warranty that was provided to others CRVs with identical issues.

After my last oil change on October 29, 2025, I began noticing a persistent gasoline smell outside the car. Concerned, I took the vehicle to Prince Honda Tifton and explained the issue in detail. They inspected it but reported no leaks and said everything looked fine. However, the odor continued. Starting December 1, 2025, I began smelling gasoline inside the car, with a particularly strong odor when starting the engine. I believe this poses a serious health risk and a potential fire hazard while driving.

Shortly after purchasing car I started getting all the error messages showing after I started the car and they would remain on sometimes it repeatedly happened. I brought it up to dealer several times during and in addition to maintenance and they told me it was not something they could replicate and found no issues. I was told it was the battery but it still happened after battery was replaced. On 07/17/25, with only 137000 miles on the vehicle, the error messages all came on again and the vehicle stalled at a stoplight. It would not shift into gear. Vehicle was towed where they had to replace engine valve cover gasket and the timing chain. The replaced parts listed: RTV gasket, cam chain tensioner, tensioner filter, 2 cam chain tensioner arms, cam chain guide, VTC EX actuator assy, VTC IN actuator assy, flange bolt, cam chain guide B, oil seal,...

Defective feel pump causes all lights on the dash to turn on, and also causes the car to stall/misfire. When you try to accelerate. We've had this same problem over and over again even after the recall that supposedly fixed the issue.

Hi I have been trying to take care of fuel pump related recall for a while and went to Millers Honda NYS REG R- 4040274 3 times and every time I realize there is problems with vehicles safety features and acceleration and it won’t pass inspection. Few times it felt like as if vehicle would stop in the middle of the road because i couldn’t accelerate. Recently I was charged almost 1500 dollars for a problem they should have fixed in 2023. In 2023 I attempted to make a complaint with the DMV and they temporarily fixed the problem and it would come back time to time. Please help and investigate.

The 1.5L turbo engine in my 2018 Honda CR-V is experiencing oil dilution. Raw fuel mixes with the engine oil, lowering flashpoint and thinning viscosity. This creates a fire risk, loss of lubrication, accelerated engine wear, and potential stalling. Honda issued TSBs, but the problem persists. This is a serious safety defect.

Failed emissions with code P0172 (System too rich) at 69,000 miles. Warning lights then appeared on the dash for almost every vehicle system, including Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Power Steering System Problem, TMPS Problem, Stability Control Problem, and others. Upon inspection, the problem was determined to be with the fuel injectors which needed to be replaced.
#11682486 |
At around 88,400 miles my Enging light came on saying I had an "Emissions Problem." Shortly after the Emissions problem was being signaled, several other lights came on including, ABS problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Electronic Break problem and several others. I took my car to a Honda dealership's service shop to have a dianostics test run. According the the report the "check found code P0172 fuel systtem too rich." "Performed A/F test, CYL,1,2,3 Failed too rich." And they recommended replacing the injectors and I opted to have it done by them. When asked if that seemed ealrier for fuel injectors to go, the service rep said yes that they typically last the life of the egine.

High pressure fuel pump failed , could smell gas in air vents. Honda claims it’s separate from its other recall for a fuel pump. Car had been working fine, sudden issue, all lights came on , car started to stutter on acceleration. Had to be towed. No issues prior.

There was a recall on the fuel pump which houses the fuel filter which led to faulty fuel injectors, after speaking with Honda mechanic I was informed that they are aware that there is an issue with injectors but no recall has been issued yet. The fuel injection issue would cause the car to lose acceleration and speed. Also an unknown electrical issue is happening with the car, battery has had to be replaced 3 times in the past three years, Honda mechanic is unable to locate the issue.

I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and unresolved safety and performance issues. Beginning in mid-2023, the vehicle experienced multiple system-wide failures, including: -All dashboard warning lights illuminating intermittently without cause, sometimes for days. -Sudden failure to accelerate after stopping, including stalling in intersections. -Engine running rich with repeated check engine light activations. On two occasions, the vehicle stalled in the middle of busy intersections, once with my [XXX] child in the car, posing a serious risk to my family and other drivers. The dealership replaced the A/C Control Unit (June 2023) citing it as the cause of the system alerts, but no improvement was seen. The dealership then diagnosed a faulty VSA unit, quoted $2,500, but never ordered the part or followed up. A third-party shop (Mr. Tire) diagnosed a faulty ECM, which the dealership ignored. In September 2023, dealership recommended replacing the fuel injectors, which I paid...

The fuel injectors got totally clogged and did not run correctly after. They could not be unclogged and had to get new ones. I needed to get the fuel injectors replaced. Every warning you could get on your car came up so that everything was flashing and I could not figure out what the problem was without going to the mechanic.
#11668287 |
When vehicle starts it shakes for a few seconds then is fine. When I drive and give it gas my car stutters and feels like it wants to shut off. On the highway with acceleration the check engine light comes on blinking and the car loses power. The codes read misfire I replaced the sparks plugs and coils 4 time already just for it to do it again a couple months later. I read this is a common problem and unsafe Honda needs to do something

The fuel injectors all need replaced at 63,000 miles. Honda stated that other Honda crv of the same year are getting them replaced under warranty but stated that our VIN number is not included. Even though it's the same make, model and year of other Honda crv that Honda has issues warranty for bad fuel injectors.

Subject: Fuel Pump Recall Remedy Denied – Ongoing Safety Risk I purchased a used Honda vehicle in December 2024, and shortly after, I learned it was under recall for the fuel pump. In January 2025, I took it to Lia Honda for an oil change and to perform the recall. The dealership refused to do the recall, saying the fuel pump had already been replaced with an aftermarket part by a previous owner. However, the official Honda recall repair was never performed. On June 5, 2025, the car stalled on I-91 while I was accelerating, and all the dashboard lights and alarms came on. I was able to coast to safety. I took the car to AutoZone at 7:28 PM, where a scan confirmed a faulty fuel pump. The car would not start and had to be left at AutoZone temporarily. Later that night, I was able to start it...

Vehicle threw codes P0172 and P219e. Vehicle was sluggish and idled rough. All lights on the dash flashed and showed that most safety systems were disabled. Vehicle was taken to Honda service center and confirmed by the dealer. Dealer replaced the fuel injectors. Vehicle was less than a year out of warranty for this specific issue. This seems to be a common issue with this model of vehicle as the service center had the same model with the same issue that day.

Fuel Pump recall completed at McGrath Honda, St. Charles IL., on Monday 2/3/2025. Never had any issues with car since purchase in 2019. Since Fuel Pump recall I have had an additional 3 visits. Car has a rumble and shaking when starting. Revisit on 4/1 shop found no problems all inspections checkout out. Once again car still rubles and shakes when starting. On [XXX] my 17 year old was driving, all emergency lights came on, gas pedal stopped working, (This is a vital safety concern for a gas pedal to stop working) and car overheated. Car required another shopping and upon inspection again no issues identified. On [XXX] again all warning lights activated, car rumbles/ shakes upon starting. Car returned to shop where faulty oring on fuel pump was identified and changed. All warning lights cleared and car returned. On [XXX] Car rumbles when starting, all warning lights active and...

All lights on dash board on and would not cut off. We were told it was the battery that was bad. The battery in the vehicle was not a year old. We purchased the new battery and within a couple weeks it happened again with all of the lights on. This is a safety matter because this can cause problem with the heads to the motors or can just stop running. We took the car back to the dealer and then they said it maybe the fuel injectors. Now, we are paying for another maybe. This car is sending off different codes. No, one has inspected this car except the dealer. I was informed that if not inspected by Honda that it would not count. No, other symptoms before all lights on dash board just coming on. When the lights on dash board came on it was all light for...

I received a recall notice for this vehicle. When I called my nearest Honda, Leadcar Honda, in Yorkville, NY, they stated that they could not get my vehicle in for recall repairs until August of 2025. I called in March of 2025.

Fuel Pump Module improperly molded impeller. Manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, I thought car manufacturers were required to fix safety recalls within 1 year. This recall came out 12/18/23. 1/25/25 I finally received a letter that parts are now available for repair. When I call the dealership to schedule a repair they tell me the parts are on back order and I am on a list.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000(Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing engine hesitation while driving. The local dealer and Round Rock Honda(512-904-6900) were contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

All warning lights in vehicle come on. Says car engine is hot but it is not. None of the power systems work. Nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Buying top tier gas fixes the problem.

Honda has failed to provide the necessary parts to fix a safety recall on my vehicle. This recall is affecting my ability to renew my California DMV registration, as the state requires all safety recalls to be completed before renewal. I have contacted my local Honda dealership multiple times, and they have informed me that the parts are unavailable with no estimated repair date. This situation has put me in a difficult position where I cannot legally drive my vehicle due to expired registration, even though the issue is beyond my control. Honda has not provided an alternative solution, such as a loaner car or reimbursement for transportation costs. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter and urge Honda to resolve this issue immediately.

Honda CRV in it’s first signs failed to start. Vehicle ignition would fail to function, there was no respond. I had to shut off for 15 minutes then tried initiating, it would start as if nothing happened. I thought this was due to a battery/electrical issue. At times I thought it would not turn on and I would be left stranded where I was. Second issues began with Honda CRV not responding to gear changes, it would shake in the middle of the road, in between trips. I was praying this was not the transmission. Did have this repaired since I would regularly keep up it’s maintenance and no further damage was announced by dealership. In the scariest of events, Honda CRV stopped in the middle of freeway! Car began to shut off, would not advance further and completely lost power. I had to safely move to the side of...

This recall 23V-858 was issued in mid-December 2023. Honda has not offered the necessary steps to correct the problem as of this email. The primary concern is in the language of the recall that states "If the fuel pump module is inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury." My concern is that appears that there is no monitoring of the recalls that NHTSA issues and therefore, apparently no reason for the manufacturer to comply. If this defect can lead to the consequences that NHTSA itself warn of, it is hard to understand why 14 months has elapsed with no corrective action. We would like to make our vehicle safe again as soon as possible

There’s an open recall on the fuel pump for this vehicle, and Honda refuses to address the recall. I’ve been in contact with Honda, and they have told me they refuse to the fuel pump until the vehicle breaks down. So effectively Honda has diminished the value of my vehicle and refuses to fix it.

This is with reference to 23V-858. I own a Honda Cr-v 2018 model. I got first notice about open recall of Fuel Pump module back in December 2023 follow by couple of other reminders but whenever I called Honda dealership, they said part is not available. It's been more than a year now, I got another notice that part is available and to call any Honda dealership to schedule a repair. But now when I called my nearby Honda service centers, they don't have a date available for appointment in next 30 days. I am really worried of driving it further as this looks to be an issue with Fuel pump or engine. Pelase help me file a complaint against Honda for this inconvenience and help me get this repair done asap.

Issues started in 2018 when it was bought. Before the first oil change dipstick oil level keep going 1 inch over the max level. Exhaust smells gas. Dealership said it’s nothing. Keeps happening over and over. Dealership made a recall fix but fix didn’t help. One day while on a trip, suddenly all lights warning display come on the dash, engine lost power, had to make emergency roadside stop. After a while of sputtering, car run ok until I got into a gas station and bought chevron Techron. Engine running good enough to travel. Warning lights still going off all the time. Went to dealership, they said it was bad fuel and told me to use premium. The warning light came off. Fuel level still go 1 over dipstick max line and exhaust smell gas. Dealership it’s not a fuel dilution issue. warning light ssues linger on and off and...

Fuel injector warning light has come on for the third cylinder. There has been absolutely no impact to gas mileage or overall car efficiency and yet I'm being told I need to replace all of my fuel injectors at a cost of $1,600 in order to clear this code (P219E). This code just started appearing right after I had my fuel pump replaced under warranty recall. I have to presume there is some link and this is not just a coincidence. But that cost for a part that is not even presenting as an issue in terms of overall car performance I don't understand. But without this correction other parts of the car (i.e remote start that I literally just had repaired at a cost of $500) will not work. Certainly seems as if that is linked together. One other issue is that remote start was linked to a hood...

12/18/23 Recall and Honda still doesn't have the parts to fix over a year later....
#11636051 |
I received a recall notice by mail in February 2024 that the cars fuel pump is a potential safety hazard and might have vehicle emissions issues that needs resolution. I have been trying to get the affected parts fixed by several Honda dealerships since I received the recall notice. The dealers do not have the parts, don't know when they will receive the parts and can't resolve the problem. I am told that the Honda Motor Company "trickles" out the required components need to resolve the issue and they don't know when they will get parts and can't schedule resolution due to insufficient parts. NO ONE can tell me when my safety issues will be resolved.

was sent a recall from Honda on a fuel pump impeller module that was manufactured incorrectly. They claim they are having problems getting the part at this time but when they do they will contact me to bring in vehicle for repair. This notice was sent February 2024. Have heard nothing since. Claimed the part could arrive as late as the fall of 2024.

I have been waiting a year for parts for recall 23V-858 and requested that it be resolved each time I take my vehicle in for service. Is it likely that it will be repaired while I still own this vehicle?

Recall was issued a year ago on 12/18/23. Honda said they would contact me when the part was available. Have not heard from Honda and when I called they said the part was not available. My car might stop working on the highway endangering my life and the safety of others.

Honda issued a safety recall in February 2024 for a possible inoperable fuel pump that may cause a vehicle to lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. It is now December 2024 and replacement parts are still not available.

I first received notice of this recall about a year ago. I have been to the dealer 3 times to request the repair but have been told there are not enough parts to make the repair. On my last visit (7/2/2024) the dealership took my copy of the recall notice and told me they would call me when they had parts to make the repair. They also told me it would probably be 2 or 3 months before the part was available. It is now December 7, 2024 and still no contact from the dealership and no parts from Honda. Please help.

American Honda sent me a letter notifying of recall for fuel pump issue in February of 2024 and a followup letter in May 2024. I called you on September 27, 2024 and was told to call American Honda. I called them that day and was told parts would probably be available in late October or early November. I called them again today and they transferred my call to a local Honda dealership (Penske on 96th St in Indianapolis). The dealer indicated they had trouble getting parts from Honda and to call back in a month. This issue has been know for nearly a year and Honda has done nothing.

On my 2018 Honda CR-V EX noticed car almost stalling when stepping on accelerator. Took vehicle to dealership and was told it was the Fuel Injectors failing. The dealership said it is the EXACT SAME Fuel Injectors that are on the 2018 Honda Accord that are part of a Recall due to safety concerns BUT that Honda has NOT issued a Recall for the CR-V, even though it has the EXACT SAME Fuel Injectors as the Accord. They were no warning lamps or messages. The cost to repair this issue was $1,273.57 to Repair the Fuel Injectors, which I paid directly to the dealership.
