All lights shown on monitor. ADAS system would not be functional. Went to dealer and checked for causes. Recommended to replace fuel injector, spark plug, and battery. Since battery was replaced in two months, vehicle only did the checking. However, the condition kept on after a few days. Spark plug was replaced a day before yesterday and the condition came back yesterday. Researched online and seemed like fuel injector needs to be clean or replaced. The repair cost over $2,000 and the condition is not safe. It is often shown up when you park and then going to start.
The contact’s friend owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. While the friend was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 30 MPH. The contact stated that the transmission sounded clunky while shifting. The vehicle lost functionality. Additionally, while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle was shaking erratically. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with transmission shift solenoids(#3) failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the failure was an internal failure with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. In addition, the contact...
Blown head gasket leaked coolant in to cylinder. all warning alarms started rotating across dash, while all driver assist technology was also disabled. car then lost ability to accelerate, but kept running, and we were able to drive about one mile home at about 10mph. We towed car to Honda (it was always maintained by a honda dealership). Honda dealership confirmed blown gasket and replaced gasket and then injectors for $7,600 total repair bill. We did not see or receive the replaced parts. We have since learned that Honda is well aware of this particular design fault of their 1.5 engines from 2016 thru 2023 years. Even independent mechanics know of the trouble, as well as any internet search. we were totally unaware til now!
On June 6, 2025 I brought my vehicle(2018 HONDA CRV EX ) to a Honda Dealership due to the vehicle rough idiling. The mechanics said the third solenoid is failing due to coolant being mixed with the engine fluid. Quoted $7496.00 “just to start”. Also stated the radiator would need to be replaced due to this issue and head gasket. Mind you I purchased This vehicle 12 months prior. I took it to a different repair shop for a second opinion but the other mechanic agreed with Honda Dealership regarding repair needs.
Fuel injector failure, resulted in engine misfires, running fuel rich, and reduced power. Reduced power and loss of safety features such as anti-lock brakes, stability assist, ACC, AEB, FCA, and LKA the safety of myself and other drivers are negatively affected. My Honda Dealer and 3rd party shop diagnosed the issue. All warning lights started to appear in November 2024 and disappear intermittently.
In April 2025 my CRV had issues with acceleration. The speed reduced all of a sudden and car couldn't go more than 5 mph, so I took it to the repiar shop. The mechanic told me that cylinder #2 misfired. He replaced the spark plugs and the ignition coil. A few days later after driving for a few miles "Stop driving when safe, engine temperature too Hot" sign came up. I stopped driving immidiately and got the car towed to the repair shop. After testing the car the mechanic told me that the head gasket leaked and the coolant is mixing with the lubricant. He told me that there is damage to the engine so the engine need to be replaced. I was driving with kids in the car and I believe it compromised the safety of my family when the speed came down all of a sudden on the...
Vehicle threw codes P0172 and P219e. Vehicle was sluggish and idled rough. All lights on the dash flashed and showed that most safety systems were disabled. Vehicle was taken to Honda service center and confirmed by the dealer. Dealer replaced the fuel injectors. Vehicle was less than a year out of warranty for this specific issue. This seems to be a common issue with this model of vehicle as the service center had the same model with the same issue that day.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle went into LIMP Mode while attempting to accelerate. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated during the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road, and the contact waited for a while before continuing to drive. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
My vehicle became difficult to steer, similar to driving with all the tires low on air. I made an appointment with Proctor Honda. They determined the Electronic Power Steering Rack was sticking and replaced it with a 5320-TLB-A23 : G/BOX ASSY, EPS. Honda assured me this was not a recall issue. After paying the $4365.66 repair charge, I determined there was a Service Bulletin 23-037 issued for this same problem. It applied to 2018 Honda CRVs. However, it only covered 54 vehicles and my vehicle was not included. This seems unreasonable given it appears to be the identical issue as the vehicles subject to the recall. I'm a 76 year old female and have no means to challenge this other than to ask for your help in determining if I am being treated fairly. If it truly is not the same issue, then I understand. Mileage is 87,661.
early indication of blown head gasket @77213 miles
I understand that the NHTSA has an investigation ongoing after an unspecified number of owners reported serious problems with the differential. The investigation covers as many as 1.7 million 2018-2022 Honda CR-V. My Honda 2018 with 74,400 miles was just diagnosed with this problem. A pinion seal is leaking. The mechanic said this should not happen with such low miles.
As of a month ago, when doing left turns the vehicle turning was increasingly stiffened. When driving, the steering wheel slightly locks requiring extra force to take turns even if slightly. Recently, there has been increased stiffness when making right turns and a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel. The vehicle was brought into the local Honda dealership and after diagnosis, it was discovered that the issue is common with the year as there is a current recall on vehicles of the same year, however, the VIN of our vehicle is not included. The issue as stated by the dealership is, "gearbox is binding internal causing lock-up in the steering wheel." It was recommended to service the vehicle as it is unsafe to drive. This issue is unable to be fixed currently as the part is on backorder due to the high volume of vehicles affected by the recall....
I was reversing and waiting for cars to pass with my hand on the gear control when it moved without me holding the button. As I was on the road, I was curious and was able to move it without my foot on the brake and without holding the button. This was all in the same ride. Later, the gear shift moved sometimes still but not all the time as it did the first time. I have never had this happen, so something seems wrong. The car is a 2018 model, so it is not that old and this worries me so I wanted to file this.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle vibrated violently, and the contact heard an abnormal sound underneath the vehicle, prompting her to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection underneath of the vehicle, the contact observed that the driveshaft had detached. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that six bolts were missing on the front of the driveshaft and that there were loosened bolts on the rear of the driveshaft. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 84,000.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2023 LOST POWER/ACCELERATION - THE ENGINE LIGHT & ALL OTHER LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY SPEED DROPPED FROM 65 MPH TO LESS THAN 45 IN SECONDS. LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN TIME BEFORE A SEMI HIT US FROM BEHIND. THE CAR WAS STILL DRIVABLE UNDER 45 PMH. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE LOCATION (4 MILES) AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY AND CHARGED ME $215 FOR A BATTERY AND $160 TO RUN CODING AND CLEAR CODES. I DROVE AWAY, GOING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY, AND HIT THE MAXIMUM SPEED OF 50MPH THE VEHICLE LOST POWER/ACCELERATION AGAIN, AND ALL DASH ENGINE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO...
I have owned the car for 58 months and now there is "Emissions System Error" which is related to canister purge valve malfunction (P0441). This consumes more fuel and failing emissions standards.
After battery replacement done by dealership Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, horn was off, lights were on, keyless remote can not be detected, many safety system errors etc. Called road side assist, after entire system reset, everything seemed to be normal, but problem showed up again on Saturday morning. Towed car to dealership, they checked everything and turned out to be body control module problem, had to replace body control module. My car only 5 years, 55k miles. It happed so randomly, faulty locks, faulty anti-theft, and can be a huge safety concern/issue.
This letter serves as a request for clarification regarding the rejection of my goodwill claim, as well as an appeal for reconsideration as I believe there has been an oversight in evaluating my vehicle situation. I would like to provide additional information that I believe would shed new light on my situation. I believe that a comprehensive review of my appeal will demonstrate that the decision does not accurately reflect the Honda Company’s commitment to meeting the expectations of customers, nor does it reflect my own commitment to the Honda Company as a repeat customer for over a decade. About two weeks ago, my 2018 Honda CRV came to a full stop while driving on the highway. After spending the entire night stuck in the car with trucks and other vehicles driving past and almost hitting us, we were finally towed and brought to Lia Honda Brewster. If we weren’t...
While driving all dash lights warning started flashing disabling forward crash avoidance power steering stability control tire pressure everything is blinking and flashing. Had to pull to side of road and almost got run over
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while the vehicle was in park(P) and attempting to shift into reverse(R), the gear was difficult to move. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to start the vehicle but accidentally drove onto the sidewalk. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective rearview mirror wiring harness. The dealer replaced the wiring harness. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,500.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the instrument cluster turned black and the driver was unable to read the speedometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, and several other gauges. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the transmission shifter could not be shifted out of PARK. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.
Vehicle stalled when accelerating to overtake another vehicle. No errors/warnings, displays were working but speed suddenly dropped and does not increase no matter what. It was scary. Luckily I was able to come back to a shoulder lane and stop the vehicle. Vehicle ran normally after powering off and starting again. I've been driving the vehicle for couple of hours on freeway by then. This happened 4 times over the summer. Dealers are asking for $200 to diagnose but not promising that they will be able to find the problem since the issue does not happen consistently. I suspect it is due to oil dilution problem for which Honda performed repair last year.
Car suddenly lost power and dash lights came on while I was passing a large truck, legally, on rural highway. Was unable to pass truck and had to fall back and thankfully no vehicles were coming in opposite direction. Was a pass with caution area with dotted line. Had to have towed to dealership, found to be issue with turbo. Research shows know issue with vehicle, see NHTSA service bulletin 19-032, but Honda states does not involve my VIN number, though exact issue, model, and year. I think this issue should be expand to include all vehicles of same make, model and year.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, whether going uphill or accelerating on the freeway, the vehicle loss motive power without warning. The vehicle was taken twice to the dealer and two of the fuel injectors were replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer for the third time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would contact the dealer. The failure mileage was 31,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE SAN MATEO BRIDGE , CAR BEGAN HESITATING AND JERKING UP AND DOWN AND LOST POWER ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP. TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS THEY DIAGNOSED IT AND SAID IT NEEDED COILS AND SPARK PLUGS , ABOUT $ 1000 LATER TOOK THE CAR HOME AND CONTINUED TO DO THE SAME THING, TOOK IT BACK TO PEP BOYS AND SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THAT CAR FOR THAT PROBLEM . TOOK IT TO PRIMO HONDA AND THEY SAY THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VIN # EVEN THOUGH IS CLEAR THAT IS THE REASON THEY ARE HAVING A RECALL ON THOSE CARS FOR THAT VERY SAME REASON.VIN:[XXX]YEAR:2018MAKE:HONDAMODEL:CR-VLAST UPDATED:MAY 11, 2021NUMBER OF OPEN RECALLS:0......YEAR:2018MAKE:HONDAMODEL:CR-VLAST UPDATED:MAY 11, 2021NUMBER OF OPEN RECALLS:1 OPEN/CLOSE ALLPRINT 2018-19 CR-V FUEL PUMP MOTOR SAFETY RECALL EXPANSION TOOK IT TO ANOTHER BETTER QUALIFIED MECHANIC AND HE SAYS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL...
LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT LOW SPEEED < 20 MPH.
WHILE DRIVING, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. A FEW DAYS AFTER RESETTING THE COMPUTER, THIS RECURRED. IN ONE OCCASION, ENGINE POWER WENT TO A MINIMUM (10 MPH ON A LEVEL ROAD) WHILE DRIVING. PARKING BRAKES ENGAGED LIGHTS FLASHING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS AND WAS REPORTED BY OTHERS (HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T76546_DS1113654). HONDA DEALER ADMITTED THEY SAW THIS WITH OTHERS BUT NEITHER THEY NOR CORPORATE HONDA WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT PULLING TO THE SIDE OF A BUSY ROAD THINKING THERE WERE ENGINE PROBLEMS. MY CAR BATTERY IS QUITE NEW AND HAS BEEN CHECKED BEFORE THIS ISSUE HAPPENED SO THIS IS NOT A BATTERY ISSUE. THE REPORTED DATE IS THE LATEST - THIS HAS RECURRED ABOUT 4 TIMES NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND IN A BUILDING, A BYSTANDER NOTICED THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLLBACK IN REVERS INDEPENDENTLY AND THE BYSTANDER NOTICED THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN DRIVE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TROY HONDA, 1835 MAPLELAWN DR, TROY, MI 48084, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE IT NORMALLY WOULD ROLLBACK IF IT WAS INCLINE. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN A INCLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.
I KEEP SMELLING GASOLINE AND HAVING TO GET OIL CHANGES WELL BEFORE 5,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THAT GAS IS GETTING INTO THE OIL. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE. I FEAR THAT THE ENGINE IS GOING TO GIVE OUT SOON.
ALL OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON FOR MY VEHICLE INDICATING THAT I HAVE PROBLEM IN ALL AREAS OF THE CAR. THIS IS A 2018 HONDA CRV. THIS CAR IS 2 YEARS OLD AND THE RELAY MODULE IS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS CAR IS TOO YOUNG TO BE MALFUNCTIONING AT THIS POINT. BECAUSE I AM AT 37,000 MILES, HONDA IS TELLING ME THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY OF THE CAR AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THE RELAY MODULE WHICH IS A MAJOR EXPENSE. AGAIN THIS CAR IS TOO YOUNG TO BE MALFUNCTIONING. HONDA NEEDS TO REPAIR THIS CAR OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.
2018 CR-V (~38,200 MILES) UNEXPECTEDLY HALTED (LOSS OF POWER - ENGINE KEPT RUNNING) GOING ~35 MPH ON LAKEVILLE HWY/116 IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND SHOWED ENGINE/EMISSIONS CHECK LIGHT AND OTHER WARNING LIGHTS. TOWED TO DEALER WHERE DIAGNOSTIC CODES P061B ECM/PCM INTERNAL MALFUNCTION (TORGUE CALCULATION), C1870-00, U0401-68, U3003-S6 WERE SEEN. PER AMERICAN HONDA MOTORS (AHM), DEALER WAS TO CLEAR CODES AND TRY AND REPLICATE MALFUNCTION WHICH THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO HAVING DRIVEN IT 60 MILES. AHM WOULD NOT REPLACE ECM/PCM AS DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE. I HAD SAFETY CONCERN SO AFTER SPEAKING WITH LEAD SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT DEALER PAID $~441 TO HAVE ECM/PCM REPLACED. I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH NOTHING BEING DONE. I BELIEVE THAT SUCH CODES SHOULD MANDATE CAR COMPANY TO ENSURE SAFETY OF OWNER WITH PAID REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY PART. I HOPE OTHERS HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THIS, NOT REPLACED THE PART AND SUBSEQUENTLY GOTTEN...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHER SPEEDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UMANSKY HONDA (960 HILTON HEIGHTS RD, CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA 22901, (888) 686-9143) WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, THE OIL PAN WAS REPLACED AND RESEALED, AND THE BELL HOUSING WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL RATTLING SOUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR WAS THE MANUFACTURER MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 16 MILES ON IT; I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. IT LEAKED OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID ALL OVER MY GARAGE AND WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I HAD A SIGNIFICANT OIL AND TRANSMISSION LEAK. HAD TO TOW THE CAR TO BE REPAIRED. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE IT DUMPED ALL THE OIL OUT OF THE ENGINE, AND THEY HAD TO FIX IT FOR A SECOND TIME. THEY INFORMED ME THERE WASN'T ANY OIL LEFT IN MY ENGINE AND THIS WAS RIGHT AFTER AN OIL CHANGE.THEY SAID THIS NEVER HAPPENS, BUT IT DID TWICE. MY 36,000-MILE WARRANTY IS ALMOST UP, AND I HAVE A FEELING THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. LAST TIME IT LEAKED, IT TOOK THEM THREE MONTHS TO FIX IT. I PAID A LOT OF MONEY WHEN I BOUGHT MY FIRST NEW CAR EVER. IT'S A SHAME I BOUGHT A LEMON, AND I'M PAYING MONTHLY...
FROM THE DATE I PURCHASED (SO HONDA ALREADY KNEW OF PROBLEM) MY VEHICLE OIL IS BEING OVER FILLED (AND DILUTED) WITH GASOLINE. IT DILUTES AND OVERFILLS TO THE POINT OF PCV VALVE BURN OFF. NOW 33000 MILES ON AUTO, HONDA WANTS TO CHANGE INJECTORS TO "SEE" IF THIS SOLVES PROBLEM. ONE: IT'S HAPPENED SINCE NEW. INJECTORS OR DOUBTFULLY THE PROBLEM. TWO: 33000 MILES OF GAS/OIL DILUTION HAS UNDOUBTEDLY CAUSED WEAR TO CRANK AND CYLINDERS. HOW IS INJECTORS BEING REPLACED GOING TO "SOLVE" THE WEAR THAT THEY HAVE ALLOWED, SINCE MY CONTINUED CONCERNS AT EVERY SINGLE OIL CHANGE FOR 33000 MILES WERE IGNORED? I HAVE READ THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM, BUT VERY COMMON WITH THIS ENGINE. ONE: WHY HAVEN'T THEY ADDRESSED MY CONCERNS FOR 33000 MILES? TWO: WITH A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINING FROM THE START OF DILUTION, WHY HAVEN'T THEY ADDRESSED THE WEAR TO MY ENGINE?...
ENGINE OIL DILUTION CONTINUES AFTER HONDA FIX WITH REPROGRAMMING ENGINE COMPUTER AND AC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT. HONDA HAS EXTENDED THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY TO 6 YEARS UNLIMITED MILEAGE FROM THE ORIGINAL SALE DATE. CURRENT MILEAGE 14,000. ENGINE OIL AND FILTER HAS BEEN CHANGED 8 TIMES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.
2018 HONDA CRV EX: MILEAGE 20,165. UPON ACCELERATING WHILE PULLING THE CAR ON MAIN ROADWAY, THE CAR DROPPED FROM 50MPH TO 25MPH AND THEN WOULDN'T REACH PAST 35MPH, THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND STARTED TO BLINK. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL ONLY AGGRAVATED THE SITUATION. ABOUT A MILE LATER THE CAR STOPPED/STALLED TRYING TO GO UP A HILL. I TURNED OFF CAR, WAITED 10 MIN AND RESTARTED. WAS ABLE TO GO ANOTHER 1 MILE TO HOME, I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO GO OVER 25 MPH, BECAUSE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL BLINKING. THE NEXT MORNING, I DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALER, BUT MADE SURE I DID NOT GO OVER 30MPH, AS I DID NOT WANT IT TO STALL. DURING THE DRIVE THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL BLINKING. WAITING TO HEAR BACK.FROM THE DEALER. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POWERTRAIN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY HONDA AND ALL 2017/2018 CRVS HAVE...
THIS VEHICLE AFTER HAVING 4500 MILES, BEGAN TO SMELL TERRIBLY OF GASOLINE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED , DID NOT WANT TO RUN, AND STALLED A FEW TIMES BEFORE I WOUND UP AT THE DEALERSHIP. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN THE LITTLE WRENCH CAME ON, FOR A NOTIFICATION OF THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, THAT THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GROWLING NOISE. THE VEHICLE IS SITTING IN THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW WAITING A HOPEFUL REPAIR. HERE I AM WITH NO VEHICLE, AND A $400 PER MONTH PAYMENT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE IN TODAY'S WORLD. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED, BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS ALLOWED TO BE PUT UP FOR SALE . A VEHICLE IS DEEMED NOT SAFE, WHEN IT'S STALLS ON YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
WHILE DRIVING OUR 2017 HONDA CRV TODAY WITH OUR YOUNG GRANDCHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER AND A SPRING SUDDENLY POPPED OUT AND FELL ON THE FLOOR. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND OBVIOUSLY COULD NOT SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK OR REVERSE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND MAKE IT BACK TO OUR HOUSE. I CONSIDER THIS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I HAVE READ OF SEVERAL INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING AND THE CRV REQUIRING TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. HONDA NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS THE SERIOUS GAS IN OIL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. WE LIVE IN AN AREA WITH SEVERE WINTER WEATHER AND THE POSSIBILITY OF BEING STRANDED BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT IS DANGEROUS.
SMELLED GASOLINE IN AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. CAR NEVER WARMS UP. HEAT DOES NOT WORK. ENGINE OIL SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE & SIGNIFICANTLY OVER FULL MARK ON DIPSTICK. TOOK VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALER LATE NOVEMBER 2018. PARTS TOOK SEVERAL WEEKS. COMPLETED 12/17/18 HONDA UPDATE 18-114. HEAT NEVER WORKED OVER WINTER, CAR NEVER WARMED UP UNLESS DRIVEN IN "L" FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, SMELLED OF GAS & ENGINE OIL LEVEL EXCEEDED FULL MARK. TOOK INTO DEALER & DEALER MEASURE ENGINE OIL OVER 1 INCH ABOVE FULL ON DIPSTICK. HONDA SERVICE ADVISOR CONSULTED WITH HONDA WHO STATED THIS IS A "NORMAL" CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS MOTOR. NOTHING WAS DONE TO FIX ISSUE & DEEMED EXCESSIVE GASOLINE IN THE OIL AS BEING NORMAL. ENGINE CONTINUES NOT TO PROVIDE HEAT & OCCASSIONALLY SMELLS OF GASOLINE. DEALER STATES IF CAR IS PRIMARILY USED FOR SHORT DISTANCES THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE TIME TO WARM UP...
ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, IT STARTED VIBRATING, AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, BURNING SMELL OCCURRED, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD. WE HAD TO NAVIGATE THE CAR FROM THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY VERY ABRUPTLY. IT WAS A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE AS SEVERAL TRUCKS AND CARS WERE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT VERY FAST SPEEDS. REPORTED THE FIRST OCCURRENCE TO THE MCGRATH CITY HONDA, CHICAGO, IL IN JANUARY 2019 ALONG WITH THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT PICTURES AND THEY REPLACED SOME FUEL SENSORS AND INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE (DEFECTIVE PART). SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED IN FEBRUARY 2019, COULD NOT TAKE PHOTOS AS THE PROBLEMS WENT AWAY AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE. REPORTED THE THIRD INCIDENT IN MARCH 2019 ALONG WITH THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT PICTURES TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE...
WHILE PERFORMING A STRAIGHT, SLOW SPEED STOP AT RED LIGHT IN CITY TRAFFIC, IN DRY WEATHER WITH NO ROAD DEBRIS, THE BRAKES FEEL SPONGY, LIKE THEY ARE NOT OPERATING AT FULL POWER, AND IS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE PETALS CAUSES A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE BRAKING SYSTEM THAT SOUNDS LIKE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGING. THE VEHICLE DOES COME TO A FULL STOP, BUT A LOW RUMBLING NOISE CONTINUES WHILE STOPPED. WHEN DRIVER RELEASES BRAKES, BEFORE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD ABRUPTLY AND RUMBLING NOISE STOPS. SUBSEQUENT OPERATION OF VEHICLE RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS SEQUENCE OF BEHAVIOR OCCURS SPORADICALLY. IT HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. INSPECTION BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC DID NOT UNCOVER ANY CAUSE FOR THIS BEHAVIOR AND NO ERROR CODES ARE RECORDED IN THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER. MECHANIC INDICATED...
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, IT SHUT DOWN AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, IT HAD LOST ALL POWER AND IT HAD 4525 MILES ON IT. I WAS ON MY WAY TO TAKE IT UP FOR A RECALL FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH A/C CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT ; DTC P0300, P0301,P0302,P0303,P0304,OR P0172. I HAD TO CALL HONDA ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND MY VEHICLE WAS HAULED ON A FLAT BED TRAILER TO GET THE RECALL FIXED. THIS RECALL ALSO INVOLVED AN OIL CHANGE, OF WHICH THEY WERE MAKING THE CUSTOMER RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THE FILTER, THEY WOULD CHANGE THE FILTER WITH THE OIL CHANGE, BUT NOT PAY FOR THE FILTER WHEN CHANGING THE OIL. THERE IS ALSO AN OIL DISILLUSION PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AS THERE IS GAS GOING INTO THE OIL CAUSING A GAS SMELL IN THE OIL AND THINNING OUT THE OIL. ALSO THERE IS...
2018 HONDA CRV HAS OIL DILUTED BY GAS AND CAUSES THE CRANKCASE OIL TO BE OVERFILLED. ALSO SMELL OF RAW GAS IN CABIN. DEALER HAS NO FIX. I GOT THEM TO DO THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE BUT NO CHANGE. PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN APRIL 2018 AND IMMEDIATELY HAD THE ABOVE MENTION PROBLEMS. HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND NO IMPROVEMENT. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE LONGEVITY OF THE ENGINE AND SAFETY TO CAR WITH THAT MUCH GAS IN THE OIL
PURCHASED VEHICLE NOV 9, 2018. FROM 50-450 MILES, HAD VERY POOR AVG MPG (AVG 12-16 MPG COMBINED). ON JAN 1, WITH UNDER 450 MILES ON CAR, AND WITHIN THE FIRST 1.5 MILES OF DRIVING (DRIVING ON A SLIGHT INCLINE), COMPUTER MPG INDICATOR BECAME ERRATIC/BLINKING FOR ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES (INDICATED FROM 2 - 80 MPG AND OCCASIONALLY APPEARED AS -------) THEN RETURNED TO HIGHER THAN USUAL NUMBER. JAN 2, STARTED CAR, VERY STRONG SMELL OF RAW GAS INSIDE CABIN (HAD TO OPEN WINDOWS) FOR ABOUT 3-4 MINUTES - REPORTED TO/MADE APPT WITH DEALER. JAN 3, BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR APPT, TOLD NO ODOR CURRENTLY DETECTED BY SERVICE MANAGER IN CABIN, NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND DID NOT TAKE CAR OR PROVIDE REPAIR ORDER NUMBER. AT 594, (FEB 5) RETURNED TO DEALER WITH STRONG SMELL OF RAW GAS IN OIL (ON DIPSTICK AND OVER ENGINE WITH HOOD UP). OIL ON DIPSTICK APPEARED...
GAS IS ENTERING AND RAISING ENGINE CRANKCASE OIL LEVELS. CONCERNED THAT SOFTWARE UPDATES MADE BY DEALER WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE. WORRIED ABOUT LONG TERM ENGINE RELIABILITY. HONDA SHOULD EXTEND ENGINE WARRANTY COVERAGE TO PROTECT US DOWN THE ROAD.
HAD OIL CHANGED BY DEALER. NOTICED SMELL INSIDE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING HOME. CHECKED OIL HAD SMELL OF GASOLINE. OIL LEVEL HAS INCREASED SINCE CHECKED AFTER SERVICE. ACCORDING TO HONDA INFORMATION, CAR WILL SHUT ITSELF DOWN IF OIL LEVEL GETS TOO HIGH. IF CAR DIES ON INTERSTATE, COULD VERY WELL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
GAS IS LEAKING INTO THE OIL SYSTEM THUS OVERFILLING IT. I HAVE CHECKED MY VEHICLES OIL (LESS THAN 500 MILES ON MY CAR) AND THE OIL LINE WAS WAY PASSED FULL. THIS OVERFILLING CAN CAUSE PREMATURE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE, WHICH ACCORDING TO EXPERTS CAN CAUSE STALLING AT RANDOM TIMES WHICH POSES AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE DID NOT INFORM ME OF THIS ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THAT IT IS A PRESSING ISSUE. HENCE THE REASON THE 2019 CR-V'S HAVE NOT YET BEEN RELEASED.
2018 HONDA CRV. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A SOFTWARE ISSUE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SOFTWARE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ACCELERATION FUNCTION WOULD MISFIRE. THE SIGNAL FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO THE ACCELERATION WAS DELAYED OR NON-EXISTENT. *JS
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL. HAD OIL CHANGED LAST WEEK AND HONDA TECH CONFIRMED.
