THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V250000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,414. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

MY POWER STEERING WENT ALL OF A SUDDEN WITH NO WARNING. THERE HAVE BEEN COUNTLESS RECALLS FOR THIS ON MY MAKE AND MODEL BUT NO RECALL FOR MY CAR YET.
POWER STEERING FAILURE MESSAGE LIT UP ON DASH WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROX 40 MPH. POWER STEERING SEEMED FINE. AFTER PARKING THE CAR AND LEAVING IT SEVERAL HOURS, STARTED THE CAR AND MESSAGE CAME BACK AND CAR HAD NO POWER STEERING ASSIST. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS NOT TRAVELING DOWN HE ROAD WHEN FAILURE OCCURRED.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS RECALLS FOR THIS BUT APPARENTLY NOT ON THIS VIN BECAUSE IT IS A 8/2012 BUILD. BUT IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAVE WITH OVER 400,000 OTHER FUSIONS. WE WERE TURNING AROUND IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE STEERING SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. THE LIGHT TO CHECK POWER STEERING HAD BEEN ON FOR 5 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE FAILURE.

AIRPORT FORD (8001 BURLINGTON PIKE, FLORENCE, KY 41042, (859) 371-4750) DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE STEERING BOLTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND ABOUT TO CROSS A BRIDGE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN WITHOUT CONSIDERABLE STRENGTH.
TAKATA RECALL WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR THE WARNING MESSAGE SAID "POWER STEERING SERVICE NOW." WHEN I TRY TO GET OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF THE STORE. HAD TO CALL A TOW TO GET IT TO A SHOP. SINCE FORD WAS ALL BOOKED UP AND DONT HAVE AN OPENING TILL 3-4 WEEKS LATER SO I TOOK IT TO A SHOP THAT WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT THE NEXT DAY. THE SHOP TOLD ME THAT MY RACK AND PINION WAS NOT WORKING. THEY SAID WAS THE CAR IN ANY ACCIDENT OR WENT INTO ANY POTHOLES I TOLD THEM NO. BECAUSE I MAINLY DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH HAS NO POTHOLES. THE SHOP TOLD ME TO GET A NEW RACK AND PINION IT WOULD COST ME $1000 OR GET A REBUILT ONE FOR $600. SO I WENT FOR THE CHEAPER OPTION BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY...
HAVE NOT BROUGH TO DEALER YET, HOWEVER ALL MY LIGHTS LIT UP AND HAVE NOT TURNED OF SO FAR. ADVANCETRAC, BLINDSPOT, REAR CAMERA ASSIST, ABS, ETC.. BASICALLY ALL MY ASSIST HAVE COME ON. SINCE THEY HAVE COME ON MY STEERING HAS BEEN TOUGH, AS IF THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST WAS DISABLED BECAUSE ITS COMBINED WITH THE ABS SYSTEM. ACCORDING TO A YOUTUBE VIDEO POSTED ONLINE, THE PROBLEM IS A CORRODED OR MALFUNCTIONING WIRE IN THE ABS DRIVER (OR PASSENGER?) SIDE OF THE WHEEL WELL. "ISSUE WAS MY DRIVER FRONT TIRE... IT'S THE WIRE HARNESS THAT GOES BACK TO THE CPU FROM THE ABS SPEED SENSOR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN MY OPINION AS A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE WHICH CAUSES ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING ASSIST TO TURN OFF MAKING IT HARDER TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL" QUOTED FROM THE YOUTUBE VIDEO. ALSO, THE "STEERING STOP" INDICATOR FLASHED WHILE DRIVING. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V232000 (STEERING), ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

MY CAR HAS BEEN SKIPPING AND HESITATION WITH POWER TRAIN OR TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING WHENEVER IT WANTS. IT’S NOTHING SPECIFIC TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN. LAST WEEK BACK POWER WINDOWS QUIT WORKING. NOW....STARTED CAR IN DRIVE, STEERING WAS LOCKED. DROVE BACK AND FORTH, TRIED DIFFERENT GEARS, TRIED RESTARTING, IT FINALLY STARTED BY TURNING KEY OVER. CAME HOME, PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, CAN’T GET STEERING TO UNLOCK AT ALL NOW! I AM OVER AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME, SO WHENEVER IT DECIDES TO TURN, I CAN HEAD HOME. BUT AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS, DO I DARE? DOES FORD WANT US OWNERS TO DIE, OR THE INNOCENT WE MAY HIT? EITHER WAY I WOULD SUE BECAUSE THEY CANNOT DENY KNOWING THERE’S A PROBLEM!

THE PROBLEM I AM CURRENTLY FACING AND HAS BEEN CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED BY A FORD DEALERSHIP IS A LOOSE STEERING WHEEL ATTACHMENT BOLT. THIS PROBLEM ALREADY PERSISTS AND HAS A RECALL FOR 2014-2018 FORD FUSIONS (18S08). MY STEERING WHEEL IS VERY LOOSE AND FEELS LIKE IT CAN FALL OFF ANY MOMENT. ONE CAN EASILY TELL THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT FULLY ATTACHED TO THE REST OF THE CAR. THE PROBLEM BEGAN MONTHS AGO AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE OVERTIME. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD WHO NOTIFIED ME THAT SINCE MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH I AM HAVING THE EXACT ISSUE LISTED IN RECALL 18S08.
I WAS AT HOME AND GOT INTO MY CAR TO LEAVE AND WHEN I TURNED ON MY CAR I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAD A MESSAGE THAT SAID POWER STEERING FAULT ASSIST. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEMS THAT MAY SHUT DOWN AS A RESULT OF A STEERING MOTOR SENSOR FAULT WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO PUT MORE TIME INTO INVESTIGATING THIS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES FOR 3 MONTHS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RECTIFY THIS. THIS COST ME $1,985 AND MY CAR DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 100,000 MILES ON IT YET. WHY ISN'T ANYONE LOOKING INTO ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS. THE BEHAVIOR OF THE NHTSA EXHIBITS A CARELESS, NEGLIGENT ATTITUDE, SHOWING NO CONCERN FOR PUBLIC SAFETY AND THEY SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED. FORD HAS ALSO BEEN OF LITTLE HELP AND HAS NOT OFFERED ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP...
I BOUGHT MY 2013 FORD FUSION BRAND NEW. I ONLY HAVE 70,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND ZERO ACCIDENTS. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE GYM ON A SATURDAY MORNING AND MADE IT HOME NO PROBLEM. WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY CAR THE FOLLOWING DAY THE DASH LIT UP WITH NOTICES OF "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" THE WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND WAS UNDRIVEABLE IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE FOUND COUNTLESS OTHER INCIDENCE OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE YET IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED AND IT'S AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FIX. IN THE FIVE YEAR OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE IT'S HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.
WHEN IN REVERSE WHILE MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL WENT INTO LOCKED POSITION AND BRAKE PEDAL COULD NOT BE APPLIED (IN DRIVEWAY) RESTARTED VEHICLE IN HOPES OF A RESET ONLY THIS TIME WHEN PUT IN REVERSE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK NOT ABLE TO MOVE PREVIOUSLY CAR OVERHEATED IN 96 FEET FROM A COLD START (DRIVEWAY) ALSO 3 OTHER TIMES HAD A POWER ASSIST FAILURE (HIGHWAY IN MOTION) THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR EACH ISSUE AND THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING
THE RACK AND PINION ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION HAS GONE OUT WITH 53,000 MILES ON MY CAR THROUGH NO USER FAULT. I FIRST NOTICED THE NOISES WHEN TURNING THE CAR ON AND PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. WITHOUT WARNING THE STEARING STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISES (LIKE WHAT A CAR MAKES WHEN THE POWER STEARING IS GOING OUT) AND WOULD THE WHEEL WOULD PERIODICALLY CATCH (THIS IS WITHIN TWO DAYS OF THE NOISES STARTING) WHEN I WOULD TURN. OTHER THAN THESE SYMPTOMS THERE ARE NO OTHER SIGNS OF STEERING FAILURE. I COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND LOCKED UP WITHOUT NOTICE. FORD HAD A RECALL ON THE RACK AND PINION ON MY MODEL, BUT WHEN THE DEALERSHIP RAN MY VIN, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS THE PARTS MUST HAVE MANUFACTURED AT ANOTHER FACTOR. CONSIDERING THE LOW MILEAGE ON MY CAR AND MAINTENCE ROUTINELY PERFORMED...
LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST DURING DRIVING CAUSING THE CAR TO ONLY HAVE A FEW DEGREES OF UNASSISTED STEERING AVAILABLE.HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF AND GET A TOW. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR CAR, BUT FOR SOME REASON THE VIN DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. COMPLETE STEERING UNIT REQUIRES REPLACING AT COST OF $2700.00. OVER 500 ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. 56,000 MILES APPROX

I SAW A RECALL FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DUE TO SALT CORROSION ON THE 2013 BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME MINE WASN'T ONE OF THEM. WHY ISN'T MY VEHICLE ON THE RECALL LIST SINCE I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY WITH HARSH WINTERS. THIS SEEMS UNFAIR SINCE IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES IN A CRASH DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING WHICH US A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THIS THIS YEAR AND MAKE. PLEASE HELP!!! THE SHOCKS WENT OUT ON THE CARE WITHIN LESS THAN A YEAR. HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUELING SYSTEM. ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE LEFT LIGHT SYSTEM. THEY HAVE ONLY TO RECALLS WITH MY VIN NUMBER OF THINGS THAT I HAD ALREADY GOTTEN FIXED. MY DAUGHTER DRIVING THE CAR TO WORK ON NOVEMBER 28, 2018 AT 8:00 AM GOT AN ACCIDENT ON THE RAMP TO MURRYSVILLE 22 IN PITTSBURG, DUE TO STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION. SHE IS ALONE AND LUCKILY SHE WAS NOT HURT AND ALSO GOOD NO OTHER CAR WAS INVOLVED. SHE IS ALWAYS ON THIS ROAD GOING TO WORK FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY. THE CAR GOT A SERVICE AT FORD DEALERSHIP ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG, AFTER THAT WAS WHEN SHE NOTICE THE WEIRD STEERING SITUATION AND THEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2018 WHILE GOING TO WORK.
VEHICLE SEEMS TO HAVE A HUMMING THUMPING NOISE AND VIBRATION WHEN RAN ON SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH. INITIALLY I THOUGHT THE TIRES HAD GONE BAD, AND IREPLACED ALL FOUR OF THEM AS WELL AS THE LUG NUTS DUE TO SWELLING AND GOT THE VEHICLE REALIGNED AT A GOOD YEAR SERVICE CENTER. AFTER THE PROCESS WAS COMPLETED I DROVE AND CAR AND THE SAME NOICE AS WELL AS VIBRATION PERSISTED. IT CAN BE FELT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ON THE FLOOR AS WELL AS THE BREAK AND GAS PEDAL AT TIMES. TSB 16-0105 HIGHLIGHTS THE ISSUE, BUT ONLY FOR HYBRID ELECTRIC MODELS.
ENTERED CAR IN THE MORNING, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND THE POWER ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED APPLE FORD LINCOLN APPLE VALLEY AT 952-431-5900 (LOCATED AT 7200 150TH ST W, APPLE VALLEY, MN 55124) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000. *TT*JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS
STEER ASSIST FAULT WHEN I WAS ON I-95, FROM PROVIDENCE TO BOSTON. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING, JUST A SUDDEN LOST OF ASSIST, AND STEER BECAME TOO HEAVY TO HANDLE. IT ALMOST RESULTED TO A CAR ACCIDENT. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT A RECALL FOR SIMILAR STEER ASSIST FAULT REASONS ON FORD FUSION, BUT MY CAR FOR WHATEVER REASON WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE @ 70 MPH, "SERVICE POWER STEERING" LIGHT CAME ON. STEERING REMAINED NORMAL UNTIL WE EXITED THE HWY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" MSG CAME ON AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. THANK GOODNESS IT DIDN'T LOCK UP ON THE INTERSTATE. THERE ARE RECALLS ON THIS FOR THIS YEAR! WHY IS MINE NOT INCLUDED???!!!

WHILE TURNING OFF A MAIN ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT MY FINGER WAS CUT BY THE UNDERSIDE SHARP EDGE OF THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON HOUSING ASSEMBLY.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, CAR WAS PARKED STARTED ENGINE AND HAD NO POWER STEERING.
OUR MECHANIC SAYS THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFICIENCY IN THE RACK AND PINION. THEREFORE MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT COSTLY REPAIRS. AFTER RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON FOR THE FORD FUSION AND MOST OF THEM ARE UNDER RECALL. HOWEVER WE SEEM TO HAVE THE ONE FUSION OUR OF MILLIONS THAT IS NOT UNDER RECALL.

MY SON WAS DRIVING HIS FORD FUSION YESTERDAY WHEN SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT INDICATOR CAME ON AND HE LOST ALL POWER STEERING CAPABILITIES. LUCKILY HE WAS ABLE TO MANHANDLE THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE CAR IS NOT AFFECTED BY A PREVIOUS RECALL INVOLVING THIS SAME ISSUE.

I WAS MAKING A TURN WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND THERE WAS A MESSAGE SAYING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. I TOOK IT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD PURCHASED MY CAR AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEAR AND I HAD RESEARCHED THAT SOME PREVIOUS CARS HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THAT EXACT PROBLEM.
