1. After vehicle is given gas it won’t crank. 2. Tire sensors won’t turn off. Even with brand new tires and mounts. 3. Random electrical malfunctions. (Flickering dash lights, delayed engine start after turning the key, light bouncing back and forth between gears, etc.)
I had coolant leaking in my 2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L causing a misfire in cylinder 3 from diagnostics code P0303. After going to a repair shop on 3 seperate occasions and paying to fix issues thought to remedy the issue, I had the Ford dealership in Hudson WI look at it while they took care of a recall. They quoted me $9,900 to replace the engine due to a cracked block. It was hard to get a response from the technician and they were really unprofessional towards me when I requested the part numbers. So much time has been spent on this not to mention that I have been without a vehicle for 1.5 years because my inability to cover additional repairs or the cost of a new car. I also lost my job due to my transportation issues, and paid over $19,000 for this vehicle. I wish Ford...
Two recalls for this make year and model car had been recalled previously but not for my VIN specifically and the issues are appearing. The first is “doors may open driving” recall on your website and the second is “engine cylinder head may leaks oil” which is also on ur website. Both were recalled for this make and year of the ford fusion but not for my VIN so ford is stating they cannot fix it and want to charge me even for a diagnostic.
The purge valve is likely malfunctioning, which affects the fuel system. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. The malfunction caused the vehicle not to start after pumping gas, potentially leaving me stranded in unsafe locations, which could be hazardous, especially in high-traffic areas or remote locations. The issue has not yet been officially reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps or messages before the failure. The issue first appeared when the vehicle failed to start immediately after refueling.
Coolant leaks and never fills the reservoir.
As I was going down the highway my car started smoking dramatically. There were no warning lights so I assumed it might be a belt. I pulled to the side of the road and opened the hood to find flames coming from the backside of the engine. I have had it in the shop now for the last two months and the initial thought was that the water pump could have caused the issue. However, after that set of repairs it was burning oil. Further investigation has shown that the head is cracked.
My fuel tank has an excessive build up of gasses and it causes a loud burping noise at the fuel door flap. I do have a Video of this incident.
I’ve received a letter in March regarding this safety recalls and I not been contacted by the manufacturer for any remedy. I have not had this vehicle for a full six months. Now the break fluids leaks, there’s an issue with a gasket, and I cannot longer drive vehicle due to the smell of something burning. The recall states it’s an increasing risk of a crash. I have to search for transportation to and from work because I refuse to cause harm to myself or others. Safety Risk IF THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKS, YOUR VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASE IN BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL TOGETHER WITH A REDUCTION IN THE RATE OF DECELERATION OVER TIME, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Ford should provide another vehicle as a loaner until this issue has been resolved.
An unknown component of the fuel system is faulty, causing a very strong odor of fuel to enter the cabin upon starting up, as well as when coming to a stop & idling. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle, but an automotive technician confirmed the odor and attempted to remedy the problem by replacing the evaporative system lines, with no change. Fuel lines and tank/vent were inspected, with no fault found. The odor can cause a feeling of illness & headache when driving. It is unknown if there is a leak which could lead to a fire. No warning lamps.
When putting gas and or driving in low idle car stalls As if the fuel pump is bad
2013 Ford Fusion with 99,799 miles on it; went out to go start it after work one day, unable to get into car or start car as battery was completely drained. Did not leave lights on etc. Had someone jump car; on way to repair shop, car shut down and would not restart; thankfully I was NOT on a highway. Since that time, it has had 2 new batteries placed in it, will run for about 5 minutes then shut off and you cannot restart it again; it has also been to 2 repair shops and is presently at the Ford dealership as my shop was not able to determine what was wrong. Gasoline leak from gas tank. The fuel sender failed at 60,000 miles, had it replaced. Vin not under recall. Now fuel leak from replaced fuel sender. Again Vin not in recalled units. WTF?
THE CARS DASHBOARD LIGHTS KEPT LIGHTING UP AND NOT LONG AFTER I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR CAUGHT ONFIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND BURNT DOWN COMPLETE LOSS
My 2013 Ford Fusion SE had the high pressure fuel pump start leaking and dripped fuel on the exhaust and started the car on fire while driving down the road. This caused about $7,000.00 in damage but could have easily gotten out of control and caused injury or death to occupant(s). I reached out to Ford Motor Company and did a chat log asking for assistance and to make them aware. Ford Motor Company Case number CAS-34734107-H6J0Z5. What is dangerous about this design is that Ford chose to design and install a secondary high pressure fuel pump directly above the exhaust manifold and the engineers surely would have known the durability and longevity along with possible outcomes due to normal use over time. When my fuel tank is filled the vehicle won't start and while driving the vehicle will stall out. The code on the check engine light comes back as P1450. This is telling me the canister purge valve needs replaced. After researching online I see this is a common problem for the 2013 Ford Fusion.
My car doesn't start after getting gas, it stalls while driving (which is very scary), feels like it's not getting enough gas at times and then will jump forward like it got too much gas at times. I took it to get it tested and was told it's the purge valve. This has been recalled in older models of the Fusion, as well as the Ford Focus. I have the same issue, but the 2013 isn't included in the recall. It needs to be covered under the recall because I'm sure my vehicle is not the only one. It's a huge issue, as it's not safe to drive.
2013 FORD FUSION TITANIUM: ENGINE SHAKES THEN SHUTS ITS SELF OFF WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND DRIVING (HUGE SAFETY ISSUE,) TAKES A MINUTE TO START THEN EITHER RUNS FINE OR SHUTS OFF AGAIN. A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED CAUSING THE OWNER (MYSELF) TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AS THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR SIMULTANEOUSLY FAILING. THE ONLY WARNING SIGNS PREVIOUSLY WAS THE CAR STALLING AND TURNING OFF (DASH BOARD STAYED ILLUMINATED). THIS WOULD HAPPEN AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND EITHER PUTTING THE CAR INTO REVERSE OR DRIVING WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THIS ISSUE AND AN ISSUE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED AT THE TIME. UPON OWNER INVESTIGATION AT A LATER DATE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THESE ISSUED HAD BEEN REPORTED TO BE RELATED.

PURGE VALVE STICKING.
WHILE DRIVING I SMELLED A FAINT WHIFF OF GASOLINE, MOMENTS LATER THE CAR BEGAN FILLING UP WITH SMOKE THAT SPILLED IN THROUGH THE HEATER VENTS. THERE WAS ALSO SMOKE THAT WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MY HUSBAND & I JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR TO RUN TO SAFETY AND I SAW FIRE UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. ONCE THE FIRE FIGHTERS ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WE WERE TOLD IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE.
MY VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , SCANNED IT AND THE CODE GENERATED WAS P1450 WHICH IS THE UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM. THIS HAS HAD A AFFECT ON MY CAR WHILE DRIVING IT HAS STALLED AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY, AND HAS STALLED AT LOWER SPEEDS AS WELL AND MAKING A TURN . IT MAKES A LOUD VACUUM NOISE AND YOU CAN HEAR THE WHINING OR WHISTLING OF THE PUMP OR HOSE NEAR THE FUEL TANK UNDER THE DRIVER DOOR AND UNDER THE HOOD . I LOOKED UP SIMILAR INFO ON THE FORD RECALL SITE AND SEEN THIS RECALL # 18S32 . SO I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THE INFORMED ME THAT IT DON'T COVER MY FORD VEHICLE , BUT THERE'S A RECALL FOR THIS , SO I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY IT DON'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE.

PAID $1200.00 TO REPAIR AND STILL HAVE A HARD CLUNK WHEN I STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. CURRENTLY DRIVING AND HEARD NOISE FROM FUEL TANK AND DETERMINED A CANISTER PURGE VALVE MALFUNCTION. MY FORD FUSION WAS IN MOTION WHEN I NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE FROM THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION I NOTICED THAT MY FUEL LEVELS WERE DECREASING RAPIDLY, MY CAR WAS NOT GOING FORWARD, AND WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR; ALL OF GAS WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I SEE THAT MY MAKE AND MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE (FORD'S RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 13S04) BUT MY VIN IS NOT LISTED FOR THAT RECALL BUT IT SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE STATED IN RECALL NUMBER 13S04.

CAR STALLS AT AFTER STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS AND SOME TIMES AFTER IT BEEN SHUT AND RESTARTED FOR NO REASON. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT FOR 3-4 DAYS AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. NO CODES ARE BEING GIVING FROM THE CAR. AND THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS CAR AND THIS ISSUE HAS ALMOST CAUSED HER TO BE IN AN CRASH DUE TO IT STALLING AT AN INTERSECTION!
I WAS IN REVERSE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROADWAY WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE ANYMORE. THE GEAR SHIFT HAD DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. IN REGARDS TO THE FUEL THE CAR MAKES A RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE GAS LINE, AND MAKES THE CAR FILL WITH THE SMELL OF FUEL. WHEN I PUT THE GAS NOZZLE INTO THE CAR A BUBBLE SOUND AND AIR PIERCES OUT.
RECENTLY, I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM/ACCELERATION. I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING MY MAX A/C LIGHT TO STAY ON AND SOMETIMES MY RADIO DISPLAY IS DELAYED OF COMING ON. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY CAR, THE DINGING SOUNDS DISTORTED LIKE MY BATTERY IS ABOUT TO DIE AND I HAVE A HARD TIME STARTING THE CAR. AFTER DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND I GOT OUT, I SMELLED GASOLINE. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND ALL AROUND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND COULD NOT SEE ANY LEAKS. I USED A FLASHLIGHT AND A MIRROR BUT DID NOT REMOVE ANY PANELS. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS JUST FUMES, BUT THE GASOLINE SMELL WAS JUST AS STRONG AFTER I DROVE THE CAR THE NEXT TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE UNDER BODY FUEL LINES JUST FORWARD OF THE FUEL TANK WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND LEAKING. THERE IS A RETAINING CLIP THAT SECURES THE LINE AND THAT IS WHERE THE LINE WAS RUSTED. THERE WAS NEVER EVIDENCE OF A FUEL LEAK OTHER THAN THE SMELL, BECAUSE THE SPLASH GUARD THAT GOES UNDER THE FUEL LINE WAS PREVENTING THE LEAK FROM MAKING IT TO THE GROUND. I COULD NOT SMELL THE GASOLINE WHILE DRIVING, ONLY AFTER EXITING...

AFTER I FILL THE GAS TANK AND PARK MY CAR IN THE GARAGE, I CAN SMELL GAS. AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN A FEW MILES THE SMELL GOES AWAY. THE SMELL IS ONLY PRESENT RIGHT AFTER I FILL THE TANK UP UNTIL THE FUEL LEVEL DROPS DOWN FROM FULL. THIS ONLY STARTED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO BUT HAS BEEN PRESENT EVERY TIME THE TANK HAS BEEN FILLED SINCE THEN. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM (13S04) SO I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO TRY TO GET IT FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I AM PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE RECALL WAS CREATED TO FIX SO I THINK THAT FORD SHOULD RE-LOOK AT WHAT CARS THEY ARE WILLING TO REPAIR. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY EASILY COULD HAVE OVERLOOKED SOME...
INITIAL IGNITION OF THE CAR RESULTS IN ENGINE STALL OUT POST ABNORMAL IGNITION TIME. FUSION WILL DISPLAY "POWER RUN ACTIVE" THEN "PRESS BRAKE TO START". THIS WILL REPEAT AFTER ANOTHER IGNITION ATTEMPT AND RE-SHOW THE SAME MESSAGES ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTER A THIRD IGNITION ATTEMPT THE ENGINE DOES NOT STALL OUT. THE PROBLEM IS NOT A SUDDEN ONSET BUT INITIAL SYMPTOMS OF THE ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR WILL STALL OUT AFTER 10 SECONDS OF DRIVING. INITIAL RE-IGNITION POST STALL RESULTS IN NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE CAR WITHOUT EXTRA ISSUE. HOWEVER, THIS EVENT BECOMES INCREASINGLY COMMON OVER TIME UNTIL IT SIMPLY STALLS OUT IMMEDIATELY POST IGNITION. DESPITE MULTIPLE TRIPS TO A FORD CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC, NO CODES ARE GIVEN BY THE COMPUTER WHICH RENDERS DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAULTY PART OR CAUSE OF THE ISSUE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. PROBLEM MAY PRESENT ITSELF AS FAULTY ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, OR STARTER. HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER REPLACEMENT...
CAR STRUGGLES TO CRANK AFTER FUELING UP. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IT WILL HAVE TO TURN OVER THREE PLUS TIMES TO CRANK. RESEARCHED AND NUMEROUS FUSIONS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. IT COULD BE THE PURGE VALVE. I HAVE ORDERED THE PIECE TO PUT ON SOON.
REPLACEMENT OF LUG NUTS AFTER 60,000 MILES. THE LUG NUTS ARE KNOWN TO WEAR OUT AND THEN NEED REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF @$150. MAKES NO SENSE. I NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL VAPOR SEPARATOR (9D289). THIS WILL BE THE THIRD ONE ON THIS CAR AT @ $400.

LOST COMPLETE POWER AND CONTROL OF CAR NO ACCELERATION WHEN PRESSING GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF STREET CAR SLOWS DOWN WITHOUT NO WARNING AFTER PARKING THE CAR A WRECK INDICATOR FLASH. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IT'S HIT DOWN ON ME I HAD IT REPAID LAST YEAR AND IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN MY LIFE IS AT RISK WITH THIS CAR SHUTTING OFF ON ITS OWN IT'S NOT FAIR THAT I'M BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THIS FAULTY DEATH TRAP VEHICLE. I COULDN'T DRIVE MY CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD
WHEN IN PARK OR DRIVING MY DOOR OPENS UP. MY DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND IT'S NOT SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE . AND IT'S AIRBAG SINGAL ON THE DASHBOARD .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO, EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS FUELED, IT WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO BY LENOIR CITY FORD (775 US-32, LENOIR, TN 37771). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
AFTER I DRIVE THE CAR, AND TURN IT OFF, THEN COME BACK 30-45 MINUTES LATER, AND START THE CAR UP, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF OR I DRIVE IT 200FT., THE CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY, AND THEN TURNS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE PARKED AND WHILE MOVING IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO ONLY HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING AT LOW SPEEDS.

HELLO, ON 03/14/2019 I CHATTED FORD ON MY NUMEROUS RECALLS ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION. I WAS GIVEN CASE# (XXXXX) AND TOLD TO TAKE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT ON PRIOR RECALL REPAIRS. IN 2017 WE HAD A COOLANT RECALL AND WAS TOLD BY DAVE LITTLETON FORD IN SMITHVILLE, MO. THAT WE HAD ANTI-FREEZE ALL OVER OUR ENGINE AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS OR SIGNS THAT IT HAD A COOLANT PROBLEM? WE TOOK IN BECAUSE WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. MY CAR HAS NEVER RAN RIGHT SINCE. IT IDLES FAST ETC. IN DECEMBER OUR FLEX PLATE CRACKED, NOW 3 MONTHS LATER IT CRACKED AGAIN. OUR MECHANIC SAYS THE ENGINE DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN LINED UP CORRECTLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE ISSUES BECAUSE OF THE SHOTTY MECHANICAL WORK DONE BY DAVE LITTLETON FORD. WE HAVE...
AFTER DRIVING 10-25 MILES AND STOPPING FOR A SHORT BREAK TO GROCERY SHOP OR VISIT FAMILY. STARTING THE CAR UP AGAIN AND BACKING/PULLING OUT OF PARKING SPOT OR DRIVE WAY - IT STALLS. POWER STAYS ON, BUT ENGINE FLUCTUATES RPM IN A LUNGING FASHION BEFORE PUTTERING OUT. THIS CAN HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY OR EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS IT'S VERY RANDOM. I HAVE TALKED TO ANOTHER FORD FUSION OWNER AND THEY HAVE HAD VERY SIMILAR ISSUES.
SMELL OF GASOLINE, BOTH WHEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. GETS WORSE WHEN FILL THE TANK WITH GAS. THE SMELL IMPROVES WHEN I SET THE CABIN AIR TO RECYCLE.
