WHILE DRIVING MY 2012 F-150EB, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST QUIT WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN IN A PARKING GARAGE. I HAD TO PUT ALL 180 LBS OF MY WEIGHT INTO THE STEER IN ORDER TO AVOID A CONCRETE STANCHION, 2 PEDESTRIANS AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING, THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATALITY. FORD CORP. CLAIMS THEY KNOW OF NO PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON LINE CITING THE SAME PROBLEM/ISSUES. DIAGNOSIS WAS "POWER STEERING ELECTRIC MOTOR FAILURE" AND REPAIR COST IS $2,200.00.
STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING, WHICH CONTROLS ALL STEERING WHEEL ELECTRONICS AND AIRBAG IS FAULTY. REPLACEMENT CLOCK SPRING REQUIRED. I NOTICED THIS ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AND USING MY RADIO CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. UPON PUSHING A BUTTON LIKE VOLUME UP FOR INSTANCE, THE RADIO STATION WOULD CHANGE. THE BUTTONS WERE DOING THE IMPROPER FUNCTIONS. I BROUGHT IT INTO FORD AND THEY STATED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT CONTROLS THE AIRBAG, WHICH MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE FAULTY UNIT.
STARTED MY TRUCK AROUND 9 PM AND PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE, HAD TO BACK DOWN A LONG STRAIGHT PARKING LOT, SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 15 MPH. CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE AND PULLED OUT ONTO A MAIN ROAD, HIT THE MERGE TURN SIGNAL AND HEARD NOTHING. I DIDDNT THINK MUCH OF IT, THOUGHT I DIDDNT HIT THE TURN SIGNAL ARM HARD ENOUGH. TURNING ONTO MAIN ROAD AND HIT TURN SIGNAL AGAIN, NO SOUND. LOOKED AT DASHBOARD, EVERYTHING IS OFF, NO BACK LIGHTING AND NO GAUGE MOVEMENT/LIGHTS AT ALL. EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK BUT NOT REVERSE LIGHTS, TURN TRUCK ON AND OFF 3X WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. 4TH TRY FINALLY REBOOTS THE COMPUTER AND HAS RUN FINE SINCE THEN
STARTED THE TRUCK TO WARM UP, AS TEMPETURE WAS 17 DEG. F.. WENT INSIDE TO LOCK UP HOUSE AND WHEN I CAME OUT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF DOORS. UPON OPENING, THE CAB WAS FILLED WITH BLACK SMOKE AND THERE WAS A FLAMING MASS ON PASSINGER SIDE FLOOR ON A FLOOR MAT I HAD PURCHASED FOR TRUCK. I PULLED MAT OUT WITH MELTING PILE OF PLASTIC AND PUT FIRE OUT WITH SNOW ON GROUND. HAD TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SOMEONE TO PICK US UP AND GET HOME BECAUSE I HAD MY 8YR. OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WITH ME AND SHE HAD TO ATTEND SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY AND WE WERE 275 MILES FROM OUR HOME. THIS HAPPENED APRIL 3RD 2016 IN MILLPORT, PA. 16748 AND MY RESIDENCE IS IVYLAND, PA. 18974. I REMOTE STARTED MY F-150 SUPERCREW IN THE MORNING, IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 22 DEGREES F OUTSIDE. I DROVE TO THE CORNER STORE (0.1 MILES AWAY) TO GRAB A BITE TO EAT. I TURNED MY TRUCK OFF, WENT IN, THEN STARTED MY TRUCK BACK UP TO HEAD TO THE GAS STATION (0.2 MILES AWAY) & FUELED UP. I TURNED MY TRUCK BACK ON AND HIT THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON TO CLEAR SOME ICE ON THE REAR WINDOW. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 3-4 MINUTES (ROUGHLY 3 MILES), WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD "POP". I NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. IT WAS THE WINDOW PANE LOCATED BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE WINDOW AND WOULD'VE BEEN EXTREMELY UNLIKELY SINCE I WAS DRIVING. MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE (A SHORT, A SURGE, OR SOMETHING). MY TRUCK IS OUT OF THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY WINDOW, BUT...
STARTED UP TRUCK, WINDOWS WERE FOGGY SO TURNED ON FRONT AND REAR DEFROST. REAR DEFROST LIGHT CAME ON AND WENT OFF. PUSHED REAR DEFROST BUTTON AGAIN AND LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON. PARKED THE TRUCK GOT OUT AND HEARD A LOUD POP. REAR WINDOW DRIVER SIDE COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THERE IS NO IMPACT AND BELIEVE THE REAR DEFROST IS DEFECTIVE AND SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE REAR WINDOW TO SHATTER. WAS NOT COVERED UNDER FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY AND DEALER WANTED $950 TO REPLACE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 7:15AM I WAS USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER TO MELT THE ICE ON THE REAR WINDOW. IT WAS 24 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW PANE (3 PANED REAR WINDOW) SHATTERED. THE WINDOW THAT SHATTERED IS WHERE THE CONNECTIONS FOR THE REAR DEFROST ARE LOCATED. THERE WERE NO HOLES OR IMPACT POINTS ON THE WINDOW.
TURNED REAR DEFROSTER ON, HEARD LOUD POP FROM REAR DEFROST AND IT SHATTERED OUT BACK WINDOW ALL IN AN INSTANT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND HAD RECENTLY BEEN STARTED AFTER A COLD NIGHT.
VEHICLE FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FUEL PUMP FUSE (LOCATION #27) BURNING UP IN FUSE BOX. AFTER MY VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES, LAST ON THE HIGHWAY, WITH A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND OTHER SAFETY CONCERNS, I FOUND FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB (TSB 15-0137) WITH A WORK AROUND FUSE RELOCATION. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO FORD, BUT NOT THE CONSUMER, PUTTING DRIVERS AT RISK. THE FUSE AT ISSUE, LOCATION #27, LITERALLY MELTED AND BURNED UP IN THE SOCKET.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE USING DEFROST. OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING AND PARKED. A VISUAL INSPECTION WAS MADE TO INSURE THAT NO FOREIGN OBJECT WAS THE CAUSE. SHARDS OF GLASS WAS NOTED COVERING THE BACK SEAT AND FLOORBOARD. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF A CHILD OR OTHER PERSON WAS IN THE BACK SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.
DRIVER DOOR LATCH SENSOR IS FAULTY. DOOR AJAR WARNING ON INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL NOT GO OFF. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE STILL OR IN MOTION. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY WIFE WHILE TRAVELING OR SHOPPING AT MIGHT. IMPAIRS VISIBILITY WHILE NIGHT DRIVING AND LOCKING CAR A BIG SECURITY ISSUE.
RECENTLY I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN BECAUSE BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT HEATERS WERE "FRIED" ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. IN ONE OF THE POSTS THE OWNER STATED THE SEAT HEATER GOT BURNING HOT. ANOTHER STATED IT CHARRED THE FOAM AND EVEN THE LEATHER. I FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO TAKE A VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE OR EVEN WORSE SOMEONE GETTING INJURED FROM THIS PROBLEM. IT IS FORDS PROBLEM IF THIS IS HAPPENING ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES AND ALL THEY ARE DOING IS PUTTING IN NEW ELEMENTS UNTIL THEY FRY AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
BACK PASSANGER SIDE LOUD BOOM WINDOW BUSTED WHEN DEFROST CUT ON
AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MINUTES, I PARKED MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. AFTER RETURNING TO MY VEHICLE AND PULLING AWAY, MY TRUCK WOULD BARELY ACCELERATE. I GAVE IT MORE GAS AND A LARGE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON MY DASH AND SOON DISAPPEARED. ONCE IT WAS GONE, MY SPEEDOMETER DIDN'T FUNCTION, THE MILEAGE WAS GONE AND THE AIR BAG DISCONNECT WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT TO MY DEALERSHIP 10 MILES AWAY SO THEY COULD ATTEMPT TO REGISTER A CODE ON THEIR COMPUTER AS I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS TRUCK BUCKING/SURGING WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS FOR 8 MONTHS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A WARNING LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED FOR A PROBLEM. IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE ISSUES, I NOTICED THAT THE SIGNALS WERE NOT TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY AND HAD TO BE DEACTIVATED MANUALLY DURING TURNS. AFTER THE TECHNICIAN TOOK TECHNICAL INFORMATION MY VEHICLE WAS TURNED...
THE OTHER DAY MY TRUCK WOULD NOT START WHEN LEAVING WORK AT NIGHT. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK OVER BUT NOT START. FORD LET ME KNOW IT WAS A FUSE AND SOME COMPONENTS THAT HAD MELTED, THAT IT WOULD NEED A SPECIAL PART TO BE ORDERED IN SINCE FORD HAS STATED THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT MUST BE LOCATED TO A DIFFERENT AREA OF THE VEHICLE FOR SAFETY REASONS (FIRE HAZARD). I AM SHOCKED THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL ABOUT THIS NOR IS IT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY (I HAVE AN EXTENDED BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY).

BACK SLIDING WINDOW DOESN'T WORK, POPPING SOUND FROM THE REAR END WHEN YOU ACCELERATE FROM A STOP.
I HAVE A 2012 F-150 WITH 44651.5 MILES ON IT. OVER THE PAST 2 MONTHS WHEN I START THE TRUCK IN THE GARAGE THE STEERING MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE AND WHEN DRIVING THERE IS GLITCH IN THE STEERING OFF AND ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE AND UNABLE TO GET IT TO DO THIS FOR HIM. AFTER SEEING THESE STATEMENTS(COMPLAINTS) ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH STEERING IN THE 2012 F-150'S I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MINE. THE NOISE OCCURS WHEN I START THE ENGINE AND TURN THE STEERING WHEEL HOWEVER SLIGHT, THE GLITCH IS FELT WHEN DRIVING.
PUT TRUCK IN DRIVE WENT TO APPLY BRAKE PEDAL AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES, TRUCK KEPT ROLLING. VERY DANGEROUS, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP, THANKFULLY I WASN'T GOING FAST WHEN THIS HAPPENED. INCIDENT HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE, WENT TO FORD GARAGE TO EVALUATE ISSUE, THEY CONCLUDED ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP AT FAULT.
2012 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST CAME OFF WARRANTY IN APRIL, ON JULY 2ND I STARTED THE TRUCK, PUT IT IN GEAR (DRIVE), AND HAD NO BRAKES. THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE AS IF THE ABS WAS TRYING TO ENGAGE. I HAD TO PRACTICALLY STAND ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE TRUCK AND PUT IT BACK IN PARK. PUMPED THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES AND TRIED IT AGAIN SAME THING. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND LET IT WARM UP A FEW MINUTES. NOW IT WAS OK. FROM THEN ON WHEN THE TRUCK STARTED COLD IT HAS DONE THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS. GOOD THING I FOUND THIS BEFORE I REACHED ANY SPEED, AND WHILE THERE WAS NO CARGO IN THE BED TO ADD INERTIA. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY SON IN DECEMBER 2012. WE TOOK A TRIP TO ALABAMA ON THE SATURDAY FOLLOWING THE PURCHASE. THE TRUCK HAD PROBLEMS STALLING, MISFIRIING, AND NOT BRAKING IMMEDIATELY. WE HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 TIMES. IT IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN TODAY FOR THE MISFIRING/STALLING. THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD MY SON THAT HIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. WE STILL HAVE ALL THE SERVICE PAPERWORK TO DISPEL THAT REMARK, THIS VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000 MILES ON IT. THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRES IN DECEMBER AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED. IT DOES NOT JUST STALL IN RAINY OR VERY HUMID CONDITIONS AS STATED BY FORD IN THEIR RESPONSE TO THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION. THEY HAVE REPLACED SPARK PLUGS TWICE, UPDATED SOFTWARE, PUT A HEAT SHIELD IN FRONT OF THE INTER-COOLER. NONE OF THESE...
ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP FAILS AND YOU LOOSE YOUR POWER BRAKES. BRAKE PETAL GETS VERY HARD WITH LITTLE OR NO BRAKING POWER TO STOP. 2012 WAS THE LAST YEAR TO USE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP TO SUPPLY POWER BRAKES AND THEN WAS REPLACED IN 2013 WITH A BELT DRIVEN VACUUM PUMP. THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE IN THE F-150 FROM 2012 AND PRIOR YEAR MDLS.

AUXILIARY PUMP FOR POWER BRAKES BOOST NOISY/FAILURE
DURING FIRST STARTUP OF THE DAY, THE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE FOR APPROX. 10 SECONDS AS IT BUILDS UP ASSIST VACUUM PRESSURE. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AS A STONE WITH NO VACUUM ASSIST. THIS IS DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN WITH THE PUMP ASSY. IT BECOMES CORRODED INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY, AND THE PISTON INSIDE THE CHEAP HOUSING BECOMES CORRODED AND THE PUMP WILL EVENTUALLY SEIZE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DANGEROUS ISSUE. IF THE PUMP SEIZES, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH VACUUM ASSIST COMING FROM THE ENGINE TO PROVIDE ENOUGH VACUUM PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE BOOST SYSTEM AND THE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AS A ROCK TO PRESS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY DURING FIRST STARTUP IN THE MORNING, AND START UP IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND VACUUM PRESSURE DEPLETES. *TR
ON MARCH 26, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN I PRESSED MY REAR DEFROST BUTTON BECAUSE MY MIRRORS HAD SOME ICE ON THEM. I STARTED TO HEAR WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A SIZZLE FROM THE BACKSEAT. I CONTACTED FORD, AND SO FAR THEY ARE CLAIMING THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH I SEE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR F150S.
I WAS DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET DURING LIGHT SNOW CONDITIONS. I TURNED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST ON AND AFTER 2 MINUTES I COULD SMELL A BURNING SMELL AND HEARD A CRACKLING/POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE BACK SEAT AREA OF MY TRUCK CAB. I SENSED IT MAY BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE REAR DEFROST SO I SWITCHED IT OFF. APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS LATER I HEARD A LOUD BANG WHICH SOUNDED LIKE IT HIT THE ROOF OF THE CAB. IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE DROPPED A LARGE BRICK ONTO MY MOVING VEHICLE. I WAS STARTLED AND STOPPED TO CHECK IF SOMETHING HIT OR WAS THROWN AT MY TRUCK AND THEN I NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE REAR POWER SLIDING WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. I FELT THE GLASS AND IT WAS HOT EVEN THOUGH OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES WERE ABOUT 30 DEGREES F. THERE IS NO WAY FORD SHOULD BE LETTING THIS DEFECT GO WITHOUT...
AT PASSING SPEEDS OR DURING ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND START FLASHING. IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN ACCELERATED AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. AFTER NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OF THIS HAPPENING THE LIGHT HAS CONTINUOUSLY STAYED ON AND NOW IT WON'T GO OFF.
INCIDENT OCCURRED ON SATURDAY 2-21-15 AT OR ABOUT 3:30PM. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30MPH WHEN A VERY LOUD BANG WAS HEARD INSIDE VEHICLE. AFTER PULLING OVER A QUICK GLANCE AROUND INSIDE THE VEHICLE REVEALED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE PORTION OF THE 3 PIECE REAR GLASS OF THE CAB HAS SHATTERED. WHILE PARKED AND WARMING UP, HEATER FAN MOTOR SEIZED UP, CONTINUED TO GENERATE HEAT AND IGNITED RESULTING IN EXTENSIVE INTERIOR BURN AND TOTAL LOSS FIRE. *TR
ON DECEMBER 19, 2014 AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, TURN SIGNAL AND POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2012 FORD F150. THIS IS AFTER THE ADVANCE TRACTION WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER. THE FORD DEALER UPDATED AND REPROGRAMED THE ABS MODULE. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK ON DECEMBER 22 THE POWER STEERING, TURN SIGNAL, AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEM REOCCURRED AS IT WAS NOT REPAIRED CORRECTLY. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALER ON DECEMBER 22. THIS TIME THEY FOUND A FAULTY PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) THAT WAS LOSING COMMUNICATION ONCE HOT. THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY AND APPLICABLE HARDWARE. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAD 42,704 MILES WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED.
AFTER PULLING IN TO MY DRIVEWAY, ONE OF THE REAR WINDOWS ON MY F-150 SHATTERED. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, I HAD THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON. THE WINDOW SHATTERED SHORTLY AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND CLOSED THE DOOR. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE COME TO FIND THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON ISSUE ON F-150 TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER SYSTEM AND 3-PIECE SLIDING WINDOW. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO KOONS FORD OF ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND AND WAS TOLD THAT WHILE IT IS A FAIRLY COMMON ISSUE, FORD WOULD LIKELY NOT COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, AS THEY HADN'T IN THE PAST. THERE WAS A MISFIRE AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES BEFORE THE COMPUTER SHOWED THERE WAS AN ISSUE. ON THE THIRD TIME I HAD FORD INSTALL THE DEFLECTOR TO KEEP WATER AWAY FROM THE TURBO CHARGERS. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED THE COMPUTER FINALLY SHOWED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AUTO ZONE TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE IT. THE COMPUTER WAS SHOWING MISFIRES IN 3 CYLINDERS. WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE TO FORD IT WAS ONLY SHOWING ONE CYLINDER HAVING HAD A MISFIRE. AT A STOPLIGHT I ACTIVATED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS I HEARD A SHARP LARGE CRACKING SOUND. MAY 13, 2014, 0630 HRS. TEMP 55 DEGREES F. WHILE I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK, I PRESSED THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON AS THE MORNING DEWPOINT WAS HIGH AND CONDENSATION WAS HEAVY ON THE GLASS. I OWN A 2012 F150 PLATINUM TRUCK WITH AN ECOBOOST ENGINE. WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS TRYING TO PASS A SLOW MOVING CAR. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO OVERDRIVE AND BEGAN TO SHAKE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAITED A MOMENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT REPLACED THE FUSE BOX, ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED. ADDITIONALLY THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOME LIGHT WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. THE LIGHT BULB WAS REPLACED BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ILLUMINATION WAS DIM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

IT FIRST STARTED WHEN I MERGED ONTO THE INTERSTATE AND IT LOST ALL POWER AND MISFIRED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED TO PARTS. WHILE ACCELERATING ON AN ON-RAMP TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON I-90, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE VIBRATED VERY HARD, THE ENGINE THEN LOST POWER, CAUSING ELECTRIC TO SHUT DOWN, AND UNCONTROLLED DECELERATION TO OCCUR. WE WERE DRIVING ON I5 SOUTH IN CALIFORNIA WITH OUR CRUISE CONTROL SET FOR 70 MPH. WE WERE COMING INTO HEAVY TRAFFIC SO HIT THE BUTTON TO END CRUISE. IT DIDN'T WORK SO MY HUSBAND HIT THE BRAKE AND IT DIDN'T DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL.
