The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front passenger's side door and the rear driver's side door had failed to latch while closed and opened unexpectedly while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the door latches were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the doors were required to be kept closed with a rope. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000. The VIN was not available.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD COUNTRY (280 N GIBSON RD, HENDERSON, NV 89014, (888) 360-8509) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH REAR DOOR LATCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BOTH DOORS LATCHES WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
