Roof rail came off on drivers side, passenger side is rattling and I'm worried it's going to come off while I'm driving and cause an accident.
We have approximately 37000 miles on our 2017 Explorer. While driving on the interstate yesterday, it began making a near continuous wind vibration sound around the windshield. We stopped several times on our trip trying to determine where the sound was coming from—roof rack, something under hood, trim pieces, windshield support areas?—but we’re never able to find cause or stop the noise. We have an appointment at a Ford dealership later this week.
After a heavy rain water accumulated inside the car front passenger floor and under the seat. After inspecting I could not determine where the water came in. I feel this is a safety concern due to the electrical wiring under the seat
ONE WEEK AGO, MY FAMILY AND I TOOK A TRIP IN A RECENTLY PURCHASED EXPLORER WHERE WE ALL EXPERIENCED SYMPTOMS OF POISONING. WE ARE CURRENTLY GETTING THE VEHICLE SERVICES BY THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT CONFIDENT THAT THE FIX WILL BE CORRECTED AS IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE LOCATION WHERE THE LEAK CAN TAKE PLACE. I'D LIKE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE INVESTIGATION FOR THE CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTION IN THE FORD EXPLORERS. IF YOU HAVE ANYONE TO POINT US TOO IN REGARDS TO MAKING THIS A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THIS NEEDS TO HAVE MORE ATTENTION FOR ALL CARS AND HIGHER SAFETY STANDARDS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED ON BEHALF OF THE CONSUMER, IN MY OPINION. WHEN ACCELERATING ON TO THE HIGHWAY OR UPHILL, THE INSIDE CABIN SMELLS OF FUMES. I BELIEVE IT IS CARBON MONOXIDE. WHEN THE CAR IS WARMING UP IN THE MORNING, THE CABIN SMELLS DO FUMES, I BELIEVE ITNIS CARBON MONOXIDE. I HAVE PURCHASED A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR AND WILL INCLUDE IT IN THE CABIN.
1ST TIME I HAD MY CAR WASHED THROUGH A DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH THE LUGGAGE RACKS ON TOP OF THE EXPLORER LIFTED UP. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN EL CAJON CA (WERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED) AND THEY WANTED $500 TO FIX IT. DID NOT GIVE ME A TICKET WITH THE PROBLEM LISTED ON IT. IT WAS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. THEY NOW LIFT IN HEAVY WIND OR IF I TRY TO WASH THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE. NOT SURE OF DATE WAS IN 2017 RIGHT AFTER BOUGHT THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE BACK SEAT IN FOLDED DOWN POSITION CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED A 12 INCH HOLE THROUGH TOP AND BOTTOM OF SEAT. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE THE SEAT HEATER WAS NOT ON THE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS NOT ON.
REAR CAMERA GLITCHES OUT AND IMAGE IS DISTORTED ON MANY CASES WHEN BACKING UP.. SIMILAR TO CONCERNS ON RECENT RECALL ON NEWER MODELS. ADDITIONALLY, BACK ELECTRIC 12V PORT DOES NOT DISENGAGE AND HAS LIVE CONNECTION EVEN WITH NO KEY IN IGNITION. FINALLY, VENTS NEXT TO PASSENGER SIDE DOOR APPEARS TO EXUDE HOT AIR INTO CAR THAT MAY BE LINKED WITH EXHAUST WHEN CAR IS ON.
PURCHASED MY 2017 FORD EXPLORER 2/12/2018, BOUGHT NEW FROM DEALER, AND NOW HAS 6029 MILES ON IT. THE WINDSHIELD SEAL AND ROOF RAILS HAVE DETERIORATED AND COMING AWAY FROM THE SUV. BUT, THE PARTS THEY QUOTED ME WAS FOR FOUR PILLERS THAT GO ON EACH SIDE OF WINDSHIELD, NOTHING ABOUT A SEAL. I WAS INFORMED THIS IS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT FROM THE MANUFACTURE AND SHOULD BE COVERED. QUOTED $982.01 TO REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND FORD SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THIS PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE AND WINDSHIELD COULD CRACK CAUSING VISION PROBLEMS UNEXPECTEDLY AND COULD CAUSE HARM/INJURY TO THE DRIVER. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IN A ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAPPEN. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD FORD VEHICLES, BUT WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER AGAIN.
WHEN VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND ALL WINDOWS ARE CLOSE, IT HAS A CARBON DIOXIDE SMELL INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND I HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS TO LET THE AIR OUT.
MY FAMILY & I HAVE FELT DIZZY. LIGHT HEADED. HEADACHES, NAUSEA & NUMBNESS OF ARMS. WE SMELLED TOXIC FUMES & HAD A CHEMICAL TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS. ALL SYSTEMS POINT TO CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING. WE CANT EVEN DRIVE OUR VEHICLE ANYMORE & STILL OWE $30,000.00 ON IT. IT'S VERY UNSAFE WE ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD DUE TO FADING OUT FROM OUR DANGEROUS SYMPTOMS!
THE TOP RAIL OF THE ROOF RACK OF THIS CAR ISN'T ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE VERY WELL AT ALL. I JUST LOST ONE WHILE GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY. AFTER TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP - IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD IS VERY MUCH AWARE OF. THE ROOF RACK IS IN TWO PIECES AND THE TOP PIECE IS FLIMSY AND JUST SNAPS IN. WHEN AIR GOT UNDER IT GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY - I HEARD IT POP AND REALIZED IT WAS OFF THE VEHICLE. IT'S LUCKY THAT IT DIDN'T HIT ANY OTHER CARS (OR A MOTORCYCLE!).
COSMETIC PLASTIC PANELING HAS TWICE COME OFF MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE. THE FIRST TIME IF WAS THE SILVER PLASTIC MOLDING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROOF RACK RAILS. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS A BLACK PIECE OF MOLDING JUST AFT OF THE PASSENGER WINDOW. FOR THE FIRST INSTANCE, A SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC BROKE DUE TO WIND PRESSURE. THE SECOND INSTANCE REVEALED THAT THE PART WAS JUST GLUED ON IN TWO SPOTS. I HAVE STARTED NOTICING OTHER EXPLORERS IN GEORGIA/FLORIDA MISSING PIECES OF PLASTIC MOLDING. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS IF THE PLASTIC COMES OFF AT A HIGH SPEED AND HITS A CAR BEHIND ME.

AS I WAS DRIVING THE EXPLORER THE CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT SENSORS WENT HAYWARE, THEN THE NAVIGATOR, RADIO, HVAC, AND EVERYTHING ELSE FROZE DID COMMANDS ON ITS OWN. THE PART ASSIST MODE CAME ON IT OWN, STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WOULD NOT WORK AND CAR STARTED TO TAKE CONTROL. VERY SCARY AS THE CAR WAS TAKING COMMANDS I COULD NOT CONTROL. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM). MY VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY WOULD NOT HELP. VERY DANGEROUS, COST ME $1,200. FORD HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON EARLIER MODELS AND RECALLED, BUT NOT ON MINE. THIS FAILURE NEED TO BE ADDRESSED AND IF NOT FIXED COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND DROPPED MY BELT CLIP FOR MY CELL PHONE BETWEEN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THE CENTER CONSOLE. I REACHED BETWEEN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND CENTER CONSOLE TO RETRIEVE MY BELT CLIP AND AS I BROUGHT MY HAND BACK UP THE BRACKET THE SEAT IS ATTACHED TO SLICED THE SIDE OF MY HAND/THUMB OPEN. BLOOD SHOT OUT IMMEDIATELY SO I DROVE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM WHERE I RECEIVED SEVERAL STITCHES.

WE WERE DRIVING FORWARD ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER, A WRENCH LOGO APPEARED ON THE DASH DISPLAY, THEN WE COASTED THE CAR TO A STOP AT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEN WE SMELLED SMOKE, SAW FLAMES FLICKERING UP FROM THE HOOD, VACATED THE VEHICLE AND CALLED 911 AS THE FRONT OF THE CAR UNDER THE HOOD BURST INTO FLAMES. THE CAR WAS QUICKLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. CITY POLICE ARRIVED TO CONTROL TRAFFIC AWAY FROM OUR BURNING CAR, AND THEN THE FIRETRUCK AND FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS TOWED AWAY ON A FLATBED.
VERY STRONG ODOR OF EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE CABIN. I WAS USING THE CAR'S AUTOMATIC START FEATURE AND WHEN I GOT IN CAR TO DRIVE KIDS TO SCHOOL, YOU COULD SMELL EXHAUST THROUGHOUT CAR. JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED CAR AND NOTICED THIS ISSUE ON 2ND DAY OF OWNERSHIP. WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON MY FLAT DRIVEWAY MY DAUGHTER BACKED HER FORD EDGE INTO THE REAR OF THE EXPLORER AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE EXPLORER WHICH WAS NOT RUNNING AND WAS TURNED OFF AND IN PARK AT THE TIME ROLLED OFF THE DRIVEWAY. ROLLED THROUGH AN OPEN LOT BEHIND OUR HOUSE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL THROUGH THE OPEN LOT AND CROSSED THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREET BEHIND OUR HOUSE. THE VEHICLE THEN ROLLED THROUGH ANOTHER VACANT LOT, AND ROLLED DOWN AN EMBANKMENT THROUGH ANOTHER LOT. THE VEHICLE STOPPED ONLY AFTER STRIKING A TREE AND COMING TO REST. IN ALL THE VEHICLE TRAVELED APPROX 300 YARDS AND HAD IT NOT STRUCK THE TREE IT WOULD HAVE CROSSED A BUSY TWO LANE ROAD. I GOT TO THE VEHICLE IT WAS LOCKED AND IN PARK. THERE WAS A GOOD AMOUNT OF FRONT END DAMAGE AND THERE WAS NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT....
EXHAUST SMELL COMING INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. SMELLS LIKE HOT EXHAUST THAT IS COMING IN THROUGH THE FRONT VENTS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SMELLS VERY BAD AND CAN'T BE GOOD FOR YOU.

HANKOOK VENTUS S1 NOBLE 2 TIRES, SIZE 255/50/R20/105H FOR FORD EXPLORER 2017 WORE OUT UPON INSPECTION. MILEAGE WAS UNDER 21, 000 AND TIRE THREAD WAS REALLY BAD. NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DEALER SAID IT WAS MY RESPONSIBLITY. HANKOOK TIRES ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST FOR 50,000 MILES. THESE TIRES SHOULD BE RECALLED. DEALER WAS ABLE TO PAY FOR 60% OF TIRES AND REPLACED WITH NEW ONE, HOWEVER, I HAD TO PAY FOR 40%. RIDICULOUS NEVER HAVE I PAYED FOR NEW TIRE WITH A LEASED CAR. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH FORD. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, TIRES NEED TO BE RECALLED, NOTICED SAME TIRES ON BRAND NEW FORD EXPLORER 2020. DEALERSHIP HAS PICTURES ETC.

HAVE 17,000 MILES AND HAVE BEEN ROTATED AT EACH OIL CHANGE; BEEN HAVING EXTREME TREADWEAR AND WAS TOLD BY THE AUTHORIZED DEALER THAT ITHE TIRES ARE BAD AND NEED REPLACED. DEALER SUGGESTED TO CONTACT HANKOOK DIRECTLY BECAUSE OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES. I CONTACTED HANKOOK CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES ARE BAD BUT THEY HAVE TO BE 4/32 TO GET A PRO RATED DISCOUNT, AT THIS TIME I HAVE 1-3/32, 2- 4/32 AND 1- 5/32, THE FORD DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR THE NEW CAR WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY SAID IT ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE AND HANKOOK NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF IT. MY VECHILE WHEN DRIVING AT 65-70 MPH STILL HAS FUMES GETTING INTO TO CABIN. I HAVE TAKEN THE VECHILE FOR THIS RECALL BUT THE PROBLEM PERSIST. I HAVE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS TO REFRESH THE CABIN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THAT THERE ALL SERVICE WAS DONE. C@N YOU PLEASE ASSIST. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT THOSE SPEEDS.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ALL THE DOOR LOCKS IN MY VEHICLE. WHEN TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR USING THE KEY FOB NON OF THE DOORS WILL LOCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IN ORDER TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOORS YOU MUST DO SO MANUALLY BY PUSHING THE LOCK DOWN OR PULLING THE LOCK UP. YOU CANNOT USE THE KEY FOB OR THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR BY USING THE HANDLE ON THE INTERIOR SIDE OF THE DOOR EITHER. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL OF THE LOCKS. LET ME ADD THE MY CAR HAS BEEN BROKEN INTO WHILE ALL OF MY DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AS WELL.
I PURCHASED MY 2017 FORD EXPLORER ON FEB 14 2019 USED FROM A DEALER IN NC. A SHORT TIME AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I BEGAN SMELLING EXHAUST IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LOOKED OVER AT MY LOCAL DEALER WHO SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND SINPLY REPLOACED THE CABIN AIR FILTER WHICH WAS BLACK WHEN IT WAS REMOVED. THE ISSUE PERSISTS AND IS GETTING WORSE EVERY WEEK. THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED AND THE DEALER ACTED LIKE THEY HAS NEVER HEARD OF THE ISSUE AND DIDNT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THE COMPLAINT. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK WEEKLY UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE NEW OR USED. FOR 2 YEARS PASSENGERS WERE GETTING PHYSICALLY ILL WHEN RIDING IN VEHICLE. KNOWN ISSUE WITH CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK WAS BROUGHT TO FORD'S ATTENTION IN 2018. CAR WAS REPAIRED WITH FORD'S PRESCRIBED FIX OPTIONS. CONTINUED ILLNESS PROMPTED LOCAL FORD DEALER TO RUN THEIR OWN HVAC TEST FOR CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING IN THE CABIN. MULTIPLE LEAKS WERE NOTED BY THE FORD DEALER AND ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. THE FORD DEALER THEN BROUGHT IN AND INDEPENDENT HVAC COMPANY TO TEST FOR CARBON MONOXIDE LEAKS AFTER REPAIRS. THE REPORT INDICATED 12 PPM IN THE CABIN OF CARBON MONOXIDE. ANOTHER TEST WAS DONE ON ANOTHER 2015 FORD EXPLORER AS A BASELINE, AND READING REPORTED 0 PPM. FORD DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE INCIDENCE OF CARBON MONOXIDE WAS STILL OCCURRING. WE REQUESTED FORD PURCHASE BACK THE VEHICLE AS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AFTER HAVING MULTIPLE MEDICAL TESTS...

TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL BUT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE THAT THEY SOLVED THE ISSUE. ALSO NOTICED A RUMBLING SOUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE WHEN TURNING LEFT UNDER ACCELERATION, FEELING LIKE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. WOULD NEVER EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO OCCUR ON A $47K CAR WITH ONLY 30K MILES.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE AC HAS A HORRIBLE SMELL AND ALSO WHEN YOU FIRST START THE VEHICLE
I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE OVER THE LAST YEAR. WHEN I HAVE ACCELERATED QUICKLY WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY , THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL REMAIN DEPRESSED DOWN. THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE WITH MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. I THEN APPLY THE BRAKES PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AND 1) PULL OFF ROAD IN THE FIRST INSTANCE OR 2) GAS PEDAL WILL RETURN TO NORMAL POSITION AND CAR WILL DECELERATE
WE HAVE BEEN SMELLING CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CABIN DURING HEAVY ACCELERATION (MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY FOR EXAMPLE); IT IS ESPECIALLY WORSE WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS ON. WE HAD IT "FIXED" SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN FORD OFFERED A SOLUTION TO PLUG GAPS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AND HAS NOT IMPROVED. WE OFTEN HAVE OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SAFETY. WE'VE CONTACTED FORD AND THE LOCAL DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER PURCHASING IT, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK RATTLES. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THEM 4 TIMES BEFORE THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED IT BUT IT STILL RATTLES. THEY DID NOT REPLACE IT.
GETTING BAD HEADACHES AND FEELING SLEEPY WHEN DRIVING MY FORD EXPLORER DON'T LIKE HAVING MY 7MONTH OLD IN THE CAR.
I WAS STUCK AT A STANDSTILL IN TRAFFIC ON A CITY HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY ON FATHER'S DAY WHEN THE DASH LIT UP WITH MULTIPLE WARNINGS SUCH AS "STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY," "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC," "STABILITY CONTROL OFF," AND "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE." I WAS NOT MOVING AND COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OVERHEATING. ROADSIDE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY DEALER. EVENTUALLY, TWO DAYS LATER, THE COMPUTER SAID WE NEEDED A NEW STEERING COLUMN (I THOUGHT A STEERING COLUMN SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE...). THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS, NO LEAKS, AND NO STRANGE NOISES. OF COURSE, I WAS PAST MY WARRANTY. PRETTY HEFTY BILL. THERE IS AN NEW RECALL FOR A REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEM THAT WAS ISSUED JUST DAYS EARLIER.
I HAVE A POPPING NOISE WHEN I TURN MY VEHICLE TO LEFT. I HAVE HAD AN AXLE AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED. IT CONTINUES TO MAKE A POPPING NOISE. I'M THE OWNER OF A 2017 FORD EXPLORER. AT THE TIME I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT MY SUV IS FOR THE FOURTH TIME AT THE DEALER SHIP, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE A BOUGHT IT IN SEPTEMBER 2017: EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN. 3 WEEKS ALREADY SINCE I DROPPED IT AT PLANET FORD. ON 05/24/2019 I WENT BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HAVING HEADACHES, DIZZINESS AND IRRITATED EYES WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY SUV. I HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD THAT ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPAIR. I WENT LAST FRIDAY, 06/07/2019, TO ASK ABOUT MY CAR AND NO ONE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THE WINDSHIELD WASN'T CHANGED AT ALL. PLEASE LET ME INFORM THAT I HAVE PAID THE MOST EXPENSIVE WARRANTY THAT FORD HAS. LAST TIME MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALER THEY REPLACED THE COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS IS ONLY LIKE APPLYING A BAND-AID, IT ONLY LASTS UNTIL IT...
WHEN ACCELERATING, VEHICLE CAB FILLS WITH EXHAUST FUMES; SMELL CAUSES PASSENGERS TO FEEL SICK.
EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE FROM THE FRONT CABIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TERRIBLE ON WINDY DAYS AS IT GETS WORSE. BEST GUESS WOULD BE POOR DOOR SEAL AROUND THE LATCH AREA. DOOR RUBBER WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BUT NO FIX. VERY NOISY IN CABIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND ON BOTH DOORS THE GREASE AROUND THE CONTROL ARM FOR THE DOOR HAS COME AWAY AND BECOME SQUEAKY TWICE. SOMETHING DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ALIGNED PROPERLY.
STRONG BURNING SMELL AND EXHAUST LIKE SMELL ENTERING THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE SMELL COMES IN THROUGH THE AIR VENTS AND IN THROUGH THE WINDOWS WHEN THEY ARE ROLLED DOWN. THE VEHICLE SMELLS LIKE IT IS BURNING AT TIMES WHILE OTHER TIMES IT PRODUCES A STRONG SULFUR SMELL. THIS ISSUE IS SPORADIC AND SEEMS TO OCCUR MOSTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RAN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR WHEN ACCELERATING RAPIDLY.
THE CAR LURCHES FOR THE FIRST 40-50 FEET AT SLOW SPEEDS WHILE APPLYING MINIMAL PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT HAPPENS THE INITIAL TIME PUTTING IT IN DRIVE AFTER EACH ENGINE START, REGARDLESS OF PUTTING IT IN REVERSE FIRST OR NOT. IT USED TO ONLY HAPPEN AFTER EVERY FEW STARTS, BUT HAS PROGRESSED TO EVERY SINGLE TIME NOW AND SOME CAN BE VERY AGGRESSIVE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE ISSUE 5 TIMES NOW, WITH THE 5TH TIME RESULTING IN THEM SAYING IT IS A "NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS CAUSING IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL SERVICE MANAGER THAT HE "DOESN'T KNOW WHY IT IS DOING IT, BUT IT'S NORMAL." HE THEN PROCEEDED TO COMPARE THE CHARACTERISTIC TO SOMEONE POORLY RELEASING THE CLUTCH ON A MANUAL VEHICLE AND AGAIN, STILL CLAIMING THAT EVERYTHING IS PERFECTLY NORMAL.
SINCE A WEEK AGO I AM FEELING A STRONG SMELL IN THE VEHICLE ONCE I TURN IT ON AND WHEN I TURN ON THE AIR CONDITION IT INCREASES ALOT. I HAVE GOTTEN STRONG HEADACHES BECAUSE OF THIS ODOR AND MY PREOCUPATION IS THAT I AM WITH MY CHILDREN MOST OF THE TIME. I CALLED FOR A CHECK UP AND THEY GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT. MY PREOCUPATION IS THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
SMELL STRONG ODOR OF EXHAUST EMISSION, START OF CAR AND WHILE DRIVING 1 HOUR COMMUTE DIZZINESS AND HEADACHES. I HAD IT TAKEN TO DEALER FOR RESEAL. STILL SAME ISSUE. FORD SHOULD TAKE THESE CARS BACK.
THERE IS AN EXHAUST SMELL IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN MAKING ME SICK, NAUSEA, HEADACHES, AND BURNING EYES. THE EXHAUST IS COMING IN THROUGH THE HEATING AND AIR SYSTEM AND IS MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN ACCELERATING AND WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON. THE SMELL IS NOT AS NOTICEABLE WHEN THE HEAT IS ON. THE SMELL IS THE SAME WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE RECIRCULATE FEATURE IS ENABLED. TURNING OFF THE HEAT / AIR CONDITIONER SEEMS TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. IT IS DEFINITELY COMING INTO THE CABIN FROM THE HEAT AND A/C. I JUST LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND DISCOVERED ALL THE TALK ON THE INTERNET AND THAT FORD WAS OFFERING A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION" INSPECTION THAT ENDED ON 12/31/18 WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE SINCE MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY RECENTLY DEVELOPED THIS PROBLEM AND WE HAVE RECEIVED NO NOTIFICATION FROM...
