Back up camera goes dark when we back up but it doesn't do it when I had it in the dealership they say I need a new camera but it started when you all put out a recall.
Rear blower motor caught on fire, causing smoke to cover the inside of the vehicle. Part had to then be removed from the car. Melted plastic around the inside of the fan and motor. Also we have replaced the blower motive in the front of the vehicle that was under recall and it has continued to let's burn wires underneath the dash whete it plugs in so i dont believe the blower motor in front was the issue!

The backup camera works intermittently. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the rearview camera sometimes displays a blank image. There are several recalls pending for the same issue for later years. For example, Ford has a recall for 2018-2022 Ford Expeditions with Ford Reference Number 25S72 and another recall effecting 2021 - 2024 vehicles. [XXX] Help would be appreciated. Thanks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Backup Camera is intermitent, screen blanks or is distorted this happens randomly seems to happen more often in warm weather.
My 2017 Ford Expedition is experiencing the exact same rear backup camera problem as described in recall number 25V315000; however, the recall issued is not wide enough to cover all the affected cars. The recall should be expanded to cover 2017 Expeditions as well.
The rocker panels have rusted completely out. I've found information online where people have brought it to ford dealerships attention to be told ford knows water leaks into the rocker panels and sits and rots out. My kids have all caught their ankles and cut them horribly. Our back up camera only works once in a great while.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle was making an extremely loud roaring sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V236000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) in 2025. The contact stated that on another occasion, the climate control front blower failed to...
AC BLOWER STOPPED FUNCTIONING
Rear camera blurry and unable to view. One has to get out and open and close the rear liftgate in order for the camera to work correctly. This may have to be done a number of times before camera is returned to normal operation. Dealer stated it may take $1000.00 dollars to repair.
Took vehicle in for recall work of replacing the HVAC Front Blower Motor Assembly. Vehicle was returned and blower motor stopped working 3 days later. Now being told that the fan blower motor controller and connector have to be replaced becasue they have gone bad and that it is not covered under the current recall. There should be no reason that those parts aren't covered under the recall. if the blower motor hadn't overheated, then the controller and conector should not have been damaged. A quick google search over complaints for this same issue lets me know that other people have had the exact same issue. Ford said to file the complaint with you.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. Roadside Assistance was contacted. The technician connected the battery cables and jumpstarted the vehicle. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact later replaced the battery. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with parasitic battery drain due to a failed gear shifter. The contact was informed that the gear shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The contact was informed that parts had been ordered for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
2024 Front A/C blower cutting in and out without warning. Called Dealership and had Fords recall #22S56, item affected: electrical system, wiring, interior/ under dash. This involved the front A/C blower failing. Only thing replaced during Mobile visit then was the blower motor. Now March 2025 had the same issue again with front A/C blower cutting off/on without warning. Called same Dealership again and was told I had to bring the vehicle in to have diagnostic check to further check the Recall issue. After diagnostic completed, was informed that the blower motor resistor and the connector were melted. Had the repairs completed same day at $802.74.
While reversing the camera went black. And since then the back up camera does not come back on. It says “camera not available”
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sparking sound coming from the engine compartment, after which there was an abnormal burning odor inside the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the blower motor wiring harness. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System); and the VIN was included, parts were available; however, the contact was informed that the wiring harness was not included in the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
I can be driving up a hill the traction control warning light and hill decent braking light come on causing the vehicle speed to drop the vehicle shakes acting like it is trying to stop. Once you stop and turn the vehicle off the error codes go away . This problem has been occurring since early September it currently only occurs going up hill on one road
Transmission unable to shift out of park periodically, transmission downshifting at highway speeds and engine shutting down. Speedometer and RPM guage going crazy then no longer working.
Electrical wiring for the blower motor replaced as a result of Safety Recall 22S56.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, there was a burning odor inside the cabin of the vehicle, and the air condition failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness to the blower motor had melted and the pigtail on the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The contact believed that the failure was associated with Manufacturer Recall: 22SF6. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.
Blower motor shorted out and melted the wiring harness going to the blower motor and started smoking and almost caught on fire. Took the vehicle in for repair and there is a recall to replace the blower motor. The dealership stated they will replace the blower motor per the recall but I am responsible for the melted wiring.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated after the vehicle had been repaired under an unidentified recall, the instrument panel and central electrical console were flickering. The contact stated that the headlights were also flickering. In addition, there was an abnormal burning odor coming through the air vents. The battery was replaced and drained prematurely. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the blower motor assembly had failed. The contact stated that the vehicle had been diagnosed by several local dealers, but no repairs had been performed due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
This issue has happened multiple times, once on the highway the vehicle felt like it lost gear/ the engine completely cut off. multiple warning lights came on such as airbag, ABS, engine light. was eventually able to get to the shoulder and after multiple attempts it started back up, showed no warning lights. drove the rest of the way fine. another time that could have put other at risk is when driving in the city, the vehicle lost power and also lost the ability to stee. causing me to be standstill in the roadway. the vehicle started back up after two attempts. the vehicle has been to the local deal a total of 4 times with the last time requesting a through inspection of the grounds, as this seems like an electrical or mechanical issue the service manager requesting me "not to bring it back until it's broken" leaves me...
Tailgate opens and closes at random times while stationary or in motion. When the tailgate opens and closes, anything behind the back seat could fall out onto any vehicle. Has been reported to the dealer and repaired but has relapsed to previous condition. Serra Hyundai Birmingham, Alabama has been aware of this condition as recent as May 10, 2024. Problem surfaced mid September, 2023.
6 months ago FORD replaced my blower motor (ONLY) per the recall, it still only worked intermittently so on a return visit they diagnosed a need to replace their (Motorcraft) YH-1829 A/C Blower Motor Switch / RESISTOR AND the pigtail connector SINCE THE CONNECTION PINS HAD FUSED FROM OVERHEATING. THOSE were NOT covered by the recall notwithstanding 100's or more complaints to FORD. However, The Blower ONLY worked on high. ALWAYS on high. If the key was on, the HVAC ON/OFF was useless (It's LED would go off and on but not the blower.) Likewise speed (+) and (-) did nothing. EVERY OTHER FUNCTION/Button worked fine. Temperature could be regulated and Rear A/C could be activated just fine. Yesterday, $595 later, FORD has diagnosed the Climate Control Board (FL1Z-19980-K) in the dash. IT'S RELAY HAD OVERHEATING ISSUES. They did not replace the malfumnctioning Control Board because Part FL1Z-19980-K is on...
My vehicle is a 2017 Expedition that had the blower motor recall performed in October 2023. Prior to the recall being performed, we would often have burning smells coming from the blower, so it made sense that the recall was to fix a fire hazard with the blower motor. I observed burned terminals in the electrical connector and assumed they would be replaced as part of the recall. Any reasonable person would assume that burned electrical wires pose a fire hazard and a recall that is supposed to fix a fire hazard issue would replace the electrical connector. A few months after the recall was performed, we started having the exact same symptoms coming from the blower motor as we did before the recall, namely a burning smell and the blower motor operating intermittently. I contacted Ford about a problem with the recall repair and they stated they would have...
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air condition stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the blower motor had melted the resister plug. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
The back camera goes out or turns blue
Electronic throttle body will go into a limp mode and has no power to accelerate. This happens while driving down the street or highway and you might have enough power to pull to side of the road or street and not get run over. I have seen other reports of this and Ford extended their warranty on some vehicles to 10 years or 150,000 miles. These are mainly the eco boost motors. My vehicle has 88,000 miles and is regularly serviced. One occurrence was on a road under construction with no place to pull over quickly when this happened.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the blower motor had failed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System). The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer and the blower motor was replaced; however, the blower motor failed several days after the repair. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a frayed connector or pigtail that was the original connector to the blower motor that had been replaced by the dealer during the recall repair. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer had a specific note in the recall information that only the blower motor was to be replaced and that the pig tail connector would not be covered under the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage...
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact had NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System) for the bower motor repaired. The contact stated that she returned the vehicle to the dealer who performed the remedy and was advised by the dealer that the original "pigtail" connection and resistor should have been replaced when the blower was replaced. The contact was shown how to tap the connector wires which were hanging under the dashboard on the passenger side to start the blower functioning. The contact stated that she would have to perform the action anytime the A/C or the heater needed to be activated. The vehicle had been inadequately repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I took my vehicle in on August 15 or so. The dealer, Sames Ford Bastrop, had it for 1 month and returned it to me as repaired. According to the nhtsa database, the repair has not been performed.
something burning in truck and then the front blower ceased working. Now I know why - many owners reporting same things and this repair should be covered, or recall expanded to include these additional repairs if needed due to the excessive heat from the blower motor. This could have very easily caused a vehicle fire while I was driving, and we could have been seriously injured. 2) rear back up camera failure due to poor seal around camera and lack of waterproofing of camera electronics causing corrosion and failure. Problem clearly seen in attached video ( not my car but same exact issue) Again, many other owners experiencing same issue. This is a safety hazard as camera suddenly failed while I was reversing and caused a near miss of a pedestrian. Camera components need to be waterproofed and sealed better - there is clearly water leaking into the rear door...
Driving at highway speed, vehicle gauges drops to zero and transmission stays at 3rd gear. Unable to know what travel speed is while trying to exit safety off highway. Have to turn off engine to reset issue, but no way to figure out what happened.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System), and the repair was completed. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the blower located behind the glove box functioned intermittently, and the contact smelled a melted plastic odor. After a visual inspection, the contact stated that the wiring and components were hot to the touch. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who determined that the wiring pigtail connector needed to be replaced and that the vehicle was low on coolant. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 120,000.
While driving my children, my 2017 Ford Expedition lost power and went into 'limp' mode (wrench appears on the dash) along with an incredibly rough idle. This is at least the 3rd time that this has happened (twice before replacing the current throttle bottle) and now. This is incredibly dangerous as the vehicle loses power and leaves my family and I at the mercy of other drivers around us. It has happened on a 6 lane freeway, a 2 lane highway, and, most recently, on a city street. After a very quick search of the internet, it is no secret that there are throttle body problems with 2017 Ford Expeditions. Ford is responsible for manufacturing a vehicle that is safe and free of mechanical defects. While some problems do arise unexpectedly, it is ignorant of Ford to continue to put passengers in harms way until an injury or death happens...
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was completed. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and turning the fan on high speed, the entire vehicle vibrated, including the steering wheel and the floorboard. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would fix the issue; however, the following day, the dealer informed the contact that additional repairs were not needed because the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and contacted the dealer; however, the dealer informed the manufacturer that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 57,120.
I've received several letters about Motor Vehicle safety since last year. I contacted the Ford dealership last year for it, and instead of fixing my car, they hit it while waiting in the dealer, so they focus more on fixing the hood that was damage and body of the car, and pressured me to sign a document to agree to fix it, while I had my husband at the hospital in ICU. But, the recall problem was never fixed, they said because they didn't have the part. Something in the engine was damage, so i had to take the car almost every month to try to fix it. I kept getting letters about the recall, and they kept saying that the part was ordered and they were going to call me when ready. Never did. Last week around August 25 i received another recall letter. I added in my to...
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while reversing out of a parking space, the air conditioning suddenly failed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the blower motor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System) however, the replacement part failed. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who confirmed the repair could not be performed a second time under the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and file a case for the failure. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was no longer under recall and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
Burnt wires from front air blower that are not being honored from the current air blower recall resulting in $1k bill
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System); however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while coming to a complete stop, the temperature gauge was high. The vehicle then overheated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the water pump and auxiliary pump; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Backup camera picture frequently shows up scrambled on the screen. Sometimes the picture is fine; often it is impossible to see anything but streaks. It happens all the time. This camera seems to work better when I am on a trip. Possibly related to battery charge, but my battery is only a year old, and the issue has been occurring for a few years. I just saw your website while looking at cars, so I decided to report it.
I have been having an issue with an intermittent blower motor not working, it was replaced by ford in November 2022 and as of July 2023 it is needing to be replaced again as I have no a/c or front blower motor again. I have attempted to have this recall fixed and ford still does not have the new part so this will not continue to happen. I currently live in Florida and have 2 small kids with no a/c in our vehicle, the current dealer that I am working with stated I can get a rental car and pay for it out of my own pocket until ford can finally get a new part that will work and hope I will be refunded. They are attempting to order the temporary part again and replace the blower motor for a 2nd time but have advised me they don’t know how...
