NHTSA Complaint #11536997 — 2017 FORD EXPEDITION

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System); however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while coming to a complete stop, the temperature gauge was high. The vehicle then overheated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the water pump and auxiliary pump; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
