THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, TWO ON A BUSY 4 LANE CITY STREET ABOVE 40 MPH AND THE LAST WAS WHILE MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE ABOVE 50 MPH. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. ONCE IN LIMP MODE I WILL HAVE TO PULL OVER, STOP AND RESTART THE CAR AT WHICH POINT THE CAR DRIVES NORMAL. EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS TO BE PUT ON BECAUSE THE CAR DRIFTS OUT OF PARK. 2 WEEKS PRIOR WE HAVE HAD THE O2 SENSORS REPLACED AS WELL AS THE BRAKE CYLINDERS ON THE CAR DUE TO HAVING TO FULLY JAM DOWN ON THE BRAKES IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO STOP.

WE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THE NUMEROUS OTHER FORD EDGE SAME COMPLAINTS THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. HAD IT REPLACED AND CAR IS RUNNING SMOOTH WITH NO PROBLEMS. WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN IT SHOWS WRENCH SYMBOL ON DASH AND SAYS SEE USERS MANUAL. THEN THE CAR RESTARTS AND DRIVES NORMALLY UNTIL THE NEXT EVENT.
