MOTOR MOUNTS ON MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ARE BROKEN! THIS IS A HEIGHT RISK AND PARTS SEEM TO BE ON BACK ORDER COSTS ARE HIGH AND THIS MUST BE RECALLED. THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE ON THE PACIFICA! I FOUND THIS OUT AFTER READING SEVERAL FORUMS WHICH MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND ALL CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT RECALLED YET. BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FALL DOWN ONTO THE STREET AND COULD CAUSE DEADLY INCIDENTS! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD INTERMITTENTLY BECOME STUCK IN THE OPEN THROTTLE POSITION. WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK VIOLENTLY BEFORE ACCELERATING AND STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT ALL OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE FRACTURED. THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. AFTER REPAIRS, THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY AND THE ENGINE WOULD VIBRATE AND EXHIBIT AN UNUSUALLY LOUD RUMBLE. THE CONTACT WAS SITTING IDLE AT A GATED ENTRANCE. THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED UP TO 15 MPH AND CRASHED INTO THE GATE WHILE THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER INSURANCE COMPANY'S LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM...

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED AND FRACTURING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A CODE IN THE PCM FOR THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR OUT OF RANGE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CHATTER WHEN ACCELERATING. THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A DEFECTIVE ENGINE SUPPORT. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. *JB

CONSUMER STATES SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE RELATED TO THE ENGINE, AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER AND ALTERNATOR *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PURCHASED, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. LATER THAT YEAR, THERE WAS A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE ENGINE, HOWEVER THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE SOURCE AND TO THIS DAY, THE NOISE IS STILL PRESENT. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM OR NEAR THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY REPLACED, HOWEVER THE NOISE CONTINUED. THE MOTOR MOUNTS, TIE RODS AND ROCKER ARMS WERE REPLACED. *JB

DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY FAILED TO START. THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.

THE ANTI-LOCK WHEEL SENSOR WAS BAD, THE TIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND FRONT SWAY BAR WERE REPLACED. THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE LEAKING OIL. NO AFTERMARKETS AVAILABLE AND CHRYSLER IS ON A "4 MONTH NATIONAL BACKORDER". MY MECHANIC CONFIRMS A DESIGN FAILURE, BUT NO ALTERNATIVES. EVERY PACIFICA HE KNOWS HAS AN ENGINE MOUNT FAILURE WITH NO OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. *TR
WHEN YOU STOP YOU HEAR AND FILL A LARGE CLANK AND THE ENGINE MOVING FORWARD. WE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND WAITED 2 MONTHS FOR THE FIRST MOTOR MOUNT TO BE ORDERED AND RECEIVED THERE WAS A NATIONAL BACKORDER. WHILE IN THE SHOP THEY DISCOVERED THE FRONT MOTOR MOUNT WAS NOW BAD. THIS TIME THERE IS 2600 ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND THIS TIME THERE IS NOT A TIME FRAME TO HAVE IT FIXED. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WILL NOT TALK TO ME BECAUSE I BOUGHT MY CAR USED IN 2006. CHRYSLER DOES NOT SHOW ME AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I AM DRIVING MY FAMILY IN A CAR THAT IS UN-SAFE. IF CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THE ISSUE THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP. MY CAR WAS RECENTLY STATE INSPECTED AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT I NEEDED THE FRONT AND REAR MOTOR MOUNTS ON MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, I READ COMPLAINTS FROM MANY OWNERS WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME FAILURES WITH THEIR PACIFICA'S DESPITE LOW MILEAGE (30,000 TO 40,000 MILES). THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE A SERIOUS DEFECT WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE THE MOTOR MOUNT IS ON BACKORDER WITH THE MAJORITY OF CHRYSLER DEALERS. A CHRYSLER PARTS DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE AT REEDMAN'S DEALERSHIP IN LANGHORNE, PA. TOLD ME THE PART IS ON BACKORDER WITH NO AVAILABILITY DATE FORECASTED. THE EMPLOYEE TOLD ME THIS IS A SURE SIGN OF A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN THIS OCCURS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THERE WERE 12,000 PARTS THAT WERE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN WAITING TWO MONTHS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. CURRENTLY, THE PART HAS NOT YET ARRIVED AND IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 55,000.

GOODYEAR SERVICE WRITER INFORMED US THE DRAIN HOLE THREADS ON OIL PAN WERE STRIPPED BY THE LAST PLACE TO CHANGE OIL. INFORMED OIL PAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CONTACTED CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE WORK HAD ALWAYS BEEN DONE. THEY DENIED RESPONSIBILITY, BUT ACKNOWLEDGED THE WIDE-SPREAD INCIDENCE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER PACIFICA MODELS AROUND THE COUNTRY. 3. AFTER BEING PUT OFF FOR MORE THAN 6 WEEKS, WE ARE HAVING THE OIL PAN DRAIN HOLE RE-THREADED (IT CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE), BY A TRUSTED MECHANIC TRAINED BY CHRYSLER. WE WILL DETERMINE WHAT NEEDS TO DONE LONG-TERM AS ADVISED BY THIS MECHANIC. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE EXACT PURCHASE DATE OF THE VEHICLE.
ON SEVERAL (10+) OCCASIONS IN THE LAST MONTH, OUR CAR HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FUEL STARVATION ISSUE. ON THE LAST EVENT WE WERE NEARLY REAR-ENDED BY FOLLOWING CARS DUE TO THE SPORADIC ACCELERATION/DECELERATION. I HAVE BROUGHT THE PACIFICA TO THE DEALER TWICE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD TWICE THAT NO PROBLEM CAN BE FOUND AND THE COMPUTER DOES NOT INDICATE A "FAULT CODE" FOR WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

THE HEATER DOESN'T ALWAYS TURN ON, BUT WHEN IT DOES IT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED UNLESS THE POWER TO THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WITH AN ODOMETER READING OF 58000 MILES. DURING ONE OF THE STALLING INCIDENTS SHE WAS TRYING TO CHANGE LANES, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, SO SHE PULLED OVER ONTO...
THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2004 IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS VEHICLE. THE CAR STALLED THREE TIMES ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I NEARLY GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. ANOTHER TIME, THE RIGHT AXLE CAME OFF AND THE CAR ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND NEARLY HIT A WOMAN. I COULD HAVE KILLED PEOPLE MANY TIMES WITH THE PACIFICA SINCE IT IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I FOUND OUT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THESE EXACT SAME ISSUES. THE BRAKE SENSORS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. UPDATED 9/11/2006 - THE CALIPER BOLTS (SELF LOCKING) FELL OUT. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. *NM

THIS PROBLEM CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, WHILE IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO BOTH THE REAR END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND THE FRONT END OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM.
AFTER HAVING MY PACIFICA FOR 1.5 YEARS AND EXPERIENCING 19 PROBLEMS (54 DAYS IN THE SHOP!); 2-3 OF WHICH ARE RECURRING (I.E. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON), EVEN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND MY EFFORTS TO GET A VEHICLE REPLACEMENT! WE ARE COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE AS THEY HAVE STOOD BEHIND THIS "LEMON" BETTER THAN THE MANUFACTURER APPEARS TO BE ABLE TO. AFTER TALKING WITH THE CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE, MR. CRAIG KISHNER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE "BEST" CHRYSLER COULD DO WAS TO REFUND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY PRICE. I PUSHED BACK AND MY BOYFRIEND ALSO CALLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR DISMAY AT THE MANNER IN WHICH WE ARE BEING TREATED AFTER BEING TREMENDOUSLY PATIENT FOR 1.5 YEARS TO SEE IF THIS "LEMON" COULD BE REPAIRED TO A REASONABLE LEVEL OF USABILITY. PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S ENGINE STALLING.*MR THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE PUT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE BUT NO CODES WERE FOUND. THE CONSUMER ULTIMATELY TRADE THE VEHICLE IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SUFFERED A HUGE FINANCIAL LOSS. THE CONSUMER LATER READ AN ARTICLE WHICH INDICATED THAT THE PACIFICA WAS BEING RECALL FOR A STALL PROBLEM. THE FIX WAS TO REPROGRAM THE PCM. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT SHOULD BE OFFERED TO OFFSET THE LOSS HE TOOK ON THE TRADE IN. *NM
WHILE DRIVE THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO SHUT OFF. I HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE WHAT HAPPENS. IT IS LITERALLY AS THOUGH THE KEY WERE TURNED OFF (I.E. THE ENGINE STOPS, LOSS OF POWER STEER, LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BREAKING, LOSS OF ABS, NO INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS TO EVEN INDICATE THERE WAS PROBLEM). THE ONLY SYSTEMS THAT REMAIN ACTIVE ARE THE ONES THAT WOULD NORMALLY BE ON WHEN THE KEY WERE IN THE ACCESSORY POSITION. THE VEHICLE WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART AFTER BEING SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO CONSISTENCY. (I.E. 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE, 15 MPH IN A PARKING LOT, 45 ON A SECONDARY ROAD, 5 MPH BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY). *CB
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED 2 (TWO) TIMES WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY ON TO A SECONDARY ROAD. BOTH INSTANCES HAVE OCCURED AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME TIME AND LOCATION. ONE OCCURRED ON 12/10/03 OTHER ON 12/19. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND STALL. DRIVER PULLED OFF THE ROAD. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
