Electrical : electrical systems and items such asa wiring and cable on or inside the door, ignition switch cover detach ,instrument panel and gauges blinking that causes motors and actuators that power mechanical devices like (windows, sunroofs, seats, etc.) Generate some kind of electrical problem that may present a safety hazard. Power train :transmissions, transfer cases fluid hard to check ,electronic control units and shift lever inacurated, drive axles, hubs, shafts, differentials, CV joints star vibration that may present a safety hazard.

I PURCHASED A USED VEHICLE FROM REDEFINED AUTO SALES LOCATED IN SKOKIE, IL ON 3/11/17. SINCE THEN I HAVE SPENT OVER $1500.00 IN COST FOR REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE, BEGINNING WITH I HAD TO GET THE OIL CHANGED THE SAME DAY THAT I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE CHANGE OIL REQUIRED LIGHT CAME ON AS SOON AS I EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY, I ALMOST GOT INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN ROUTE FROM THE CAR DEALERSHIP BECAUSE A MOTORIST TRIED TO CUT ME OFF AND THAT IS WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THE HORN WAS NOT WORKING. THE NEXT DAY THE POWER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING AND THINGS JUST HAS WENT DOWN HILL SINCE THEN, THE VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW AS I'M TYPING THIS, I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE ANYWHERE OTHER THAN BACK AND FORTH TO REPAIR SHOPS. WHILE DRIVING THE "OD" LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM 2ND TO THIRD GEAR. IT WOULD JUST REV UP. IF YOU LET OFF THE GAS IT WOULD USUALLY SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. THE SHIFT LEVER SNAPPED OFF, IN REVERSE, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PUT INTO PARK. THE LEVER BROKE IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN GEAR WITH NO MEANS TO PUT IN PARK. THE BASE OF THE LEVER THAT OPERATES THE GEAR CHANGE MECHANISM APPEARS TO BE MADE OF POROUS METAL. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING 2002 MOUNTAINEERS AND EXPLORERS, I CAN HARDLY TYPE I AM SO FRUSTRATED. THE NUMBER OF POWER TRAIN COMPLAINTS FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL ARE ASTOUNDING. THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2002 MOUNTAINEER (AKA MONEY SUCKER) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY BEING FIXED AT THE FORD DEALER FOR $3500. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD A FUNNY SHUTTER WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD AS WELL AS HESITATION WHEN DROPPING INTO REVERSE AND DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING IN ICY CONDITIONS YESTERDAY MY WIFE THOUGHT HER TIRES WERE SPINNING WHEN SHE WAS TRYING TO PROCEED AT A STOP LIGHT. BOUGHT USED FROM A DEALER 10-05 WITH 71328 MILES. CHECKED OUT BY MECHANIC. NO PROBLEMS W/ DRIVE TRAIN, TRANNY, OR SUSPENSION, EXCEPT TO CHANGE FLUIDS IN DIFFERENTIALS (REAR & FRONT). DID THIS FIRST WEEK WE OWNED IT & WATER FOUND IN REAR DIFFERENTIAL. 1ST OWNER'S RECORDS CAME WITH CAR. ALL SERVICES WERE DONE (NO MENTION OF PROBLEMS). I SERVICED IT EVERY 2-3000 MILES. ON 4-27-06 THE TRANNY FLUSHED, & THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL & TRANSFER CASE SERVICED. MILEAGE WAS 85857. 2 NEW TIRES PUT ON FRONT ON 5-25-06 (FLAT TIRE). ON WAY HOME (18 MI. INTO 35 MI.
