DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE CAR LOST POWER GOING UP A HILL, AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID BEING HIT AND PULLED OUT OF THE WAY. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE CAR DID START AGAIN BUT THE SHIFTING IS STRANGE AND IT DIES A LOT. I CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT WAS PROBABLY THE THROTTLE BODY AS THEY HAD BEEN REPLACING THEM LEFT AND RIGHT. THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY AND WOULD COST AROUND $500. I THEN HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. HE DROVE IT AROUND AND THE CAR DIED ON HIM 3 TIMES IN THIS ONE TRIP. THE MORNING OF JULY 8, 2013 I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE (WITH CONSTRUCTION) WHEN MY CAR STALLED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE THROTTLE CONTROL/TRANSMISSION WRENCH FLASHING. I AT LEAST HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO GO ABOUT 100 FEET TO WHERE THERE WAS A SHOULDER THAT THEY WERE NOT DOING CONSTRUCTION ON. I ENDED UP SHUTTING MY CAR OFF AND WAITING A FEW SECONDS. WITH NO OTHER OPTION, SHE WAS FORCED TO RENT A CAR TO CONTINUE HER TRIP HOME. DEALER REFUSES TO COVER THE EXPENSE AS I AM OUT OF THE BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY PERIOD, AND THE PART IS ON BACKORDER FOR WEEKS.
